01:08 Hello, and welcome friends
01:10 to another edition of 3ABN Family Worship.
01:13 We worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
01:17 We have an exciting study today,
01:19 a study that we've kind of already begun.
01:22 This is part two of a study
01:25 that we began already that is entitled
01:27 "A Call to Anguish."
01:29 And so, I guess this is "A Call to Anguish Part Two."
01:32 And we're going to dive deep into this
01:33 and get even deeper than what we got before
01:36 because we're talking about righteousness by faith,
01:38 we're talking about a great shaking
01:41 that is going to occur in these last days.
01:43 Again, we just want to say thank you for joining us,
01:45 taking time out of your busy day.
01:47 We ask you grab your friends, your family, your enemies,
01:51 and everyone that you possibly can,
01:52 gather them around right now, get your Bibles,
01:54 get your iPads, your paper, your pens
01:57 and anything to write with to take notes
01:59 because this is going to be a deep study
02:00 and I know
02:01 that it's gonna bless you abundantly.
02:03 Before we pray though and get right into our study,
02:05 I want to introduce our exciting panel here
02:08 are our family, family worship.
02:10 And I'm going to start to my right here,
02:12 we have Brother Kenny at the far end.
02:13 Brother, it's always a blessing to have you.
02:15 Love your wisdom,
02:16 love what the Lord lays on your heart.
02:18 It's good to have you.
02:19 What a blessing always we decide to study
02:21 the Word of God together.
02:22 So, and this to me, this study is exceptional too,
02:25 we're talking about here of getting a closer,
02:27 you know, insight into things
02:29 that how God would have His people
02:31 to be just before He comes.
02:32 And so, I'm excited about this. Amen.
02:35 And then, of course, to your left,
02:37 you would probably say your better half.
02:38 I would.
02:40 Sister Chris Shelton, such a blessing to have you.
02:42 You know, it's a blessing to be here.
02:43 And may I also say that I appreciate
02:46 his wisdom and godly insight.
02:49 You know, I can't tell you how many times I think
02:52 where would I be spiritually
02:55 had I not had his connection with heaven?
02:59 You know, there were sometimes I can remember once
03:01 when we were studying about puppetry
03:04 in the church and, you know,
03:06 I can find some things and he said,
03:09 he told this lady said, "Give me a week."
03:11 And he went upstairs and he came back down.
03:14 And he gave me this list of stuff to type out.
03:17 And I'm going through there and I'm like,
03:19 how did you find out that?
03:20 I mean, it doesn't say puppets or anything but the principles?
03:23 And it is just the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
03:26 Praise the Lord.
03:27 You know, and that's what we all need.
03:29 I pray that that's, I know I've experienced it,
03:31 but I definitely would witness it in him.
03:33 Amen.
03:34 Well, you guys are precious people.
03:36 We appreciate you being on here.
03:37 Praise God.
03:38 I know you're gonna have lots of good things to add
03:40 to today's study.
03:41 So, praise the Lord.
03:43 And, of course, to my left
03:44 is my little brother, Dakota Day,
03:47 but he's not so little anymore.
03:49 You're a young man in the Lord
03:50 and it's such a blessing to have you on here.
03:52 For those of you who may not know who Dakota is,
03:55 he is my brother.
03:57 We were both in ministry years ago,
03:59 went to evangelism school together
04:00 at Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism.
04:02 And then coming out of that
04:04 I went to Amazing Facts
04:05 for a few years as an evangelist
04:07 and then my brother now,
04:11 that I've transitioned to 3ABN he has been,
04:14 I think this is about your fourth year now
04:16 with Amazing Facts ministry.
04:17 So, it's a blessing to have you, man.
04:19 Man, I appreciate
04:20 all of your love and support, Ryan,
04:21 through the years
04:23 and just inviting me on the program.
04:24 It's a blessing, man. Thanks, man.
04:25 Amen. Praise the Lord.
04:27 Praise the Lord.
04:28 Well, why don't we have a prayer
04:30 and get right into this.
04:31 Brother Kenny, why don't you say
04:32 a prayer for us
04:34 and we're going to dive deep into the study.
04:35 Amen.
04:36 Loving Father in heaven, again as we truly thank You
04:38 for Your love, Your mercy, Your long suffering with us.
04:39 Lord, we come
04:41 and may we should ask first of all,
04:42 You forgive us of our sins,
04:43 anything in our heart and life indeed not be there.
04:46 We need open communion with heaven,
04:47 we just pray the Holy Spirit now
04:49 will be seen in great measure.
04:51 Open our hearts, open our ears, open our minds, we pray,
04:54 speak to us, Lord, we pray today.
04:56 We pray for our every viewer
04:57 whether they be listening or watching
04:59 we pray their hearts will be open,
05:01 crying out, Lord, what would You have me to do.
05:04 What is truth?
05:05 And we pray
05:06 these messages will get into the heart and the minds
05:08 and the life of each individual
05:09 that can make a decision for You.
05:12 It is an anguishing time that we're living in,
05:14 but it's a hopeful time that Jesus is coming
05:16 and you want to people prepare.
05:18 Thank You for every individual that is here,
05:20 every aspect
05:21 of getting a program out like this,
05:23 bless it we pray to this end
05:25 and we just ask Your blessing upon and once again
05:28 in Jesus' name, amen.
05:29 Amen. Amen, amen.
05:31 Praise the Lord.
05:32 A Call to Anguish Part Two.
05:36 If you joined us last time,
05:37 you know, we read a rather lengthy quote,
05:39 I'm gonna read that quote again.
05:41 It comes from the version I'm reading from
05:43 actually comes from
05:44 the First Volume of the Testimonies,
05:46 page 170- 181.
05:49 Now you can find this same message
05:52 just worded just a little differently
05:53 also over in Early Writings, page 269-270.
05:59 But I'm going to reading
06:00 from the First Volume of the Testimonies,
06:02 page 179-181.
06:03 And we've entitled this,
06:05 A Call to Anguish for a Purpose.
06:06 Some people may think, man, it's a negative title or man,
06:09 it just kind of communicates gloom and doom.
06:11 But I promise you
06:13 there's a purpose for this title
06:14 because as we're going to read through this again,
06:16 you're going to see that, you know,
06:18 God by the Spirit during this judgment hour,
06:21 during this antitypical day of atonement,
06:23 He wants us to agonize, to call out in anguish,
06:28 and plead for a working of the Holy Spirit
06:30 in our life for change.
06:31 And so, I'm going to read through this quote,
06:32 it's a rather lengthy quote, so bear with me, be patient,
06:35 but it's going to open up what again,
06:37 we're going to continue to study
06:38 of what we did last time.
06:40 So, this comes from November 20, 1857,
06:43 First Volume of the Testimonies,
06:45 page 179-181.
06:47 And this is what she says.
06:49 She says, I was shown the people of God
06:52 and I saw them mightily shaken,
06:55 some with strong faith in agonizing cries.
06:57 We're pleading with God.
06:59 Their countenances were pale and marked with deep anxiety,
07:04 expressive of their internal struggle.
07:07 Firmness and great earnestness
07:09 were expressed in their countenances,
07:11 while large drops of perspiration fell
07:14 from their foreheads.
07:16 Now and then their faces would light up
07:18 with the marks of God's approbation.
07:21 And again, the same solemn, earnest,
07:23 anxious look would settle upon them.
07:27 Evil angels crowded around them,
07:29 pressing their darkness upon them,
07:31 to shut out Jesus from their view,
07:33 that their eyes might be drawn to the darkness
07:36 that surrounded them.
07:37 And they did that
07:38 they might come to distress God,
07:40 and next murmur against him.
07:42 Their only safety
07:44 was in keeping their eyes directed upward.
07:48 Angels of God had charge over His people.
07:52 And as the poisonous atmosphere
07:54 from the evil angels
07:55 was pressed around these anxious ones,
07:57 the heavenly angels
07:58 were continually wafting their wings over them
08:01 to scatter the thick darkness.
08:04 Some I saw did not participate
08:07 in this work of agonizing and pleading.
08:09 They seemed indifferent and careless.
08:13 They were not resisting the darkness around them,
08:16 and it shut them in like a thick cloud.
08:18 The angels of God left these,
08:21 and I saw them hastening to the assistance
08:23 of those who were struggling with all their energies
08:26 to resist the evil angels,
08:27 and trying to help themselves
08:29 by calling upon God with perseverance.
08:32 But the angels left those who made no effort
08:35 to help themselves, and I lost sight of them.
08:38 As the praying ones continued their earnest cries,
08:41 a ray of light from Jesus
08:43 would at times come to them to encourage their hearts
08:46 and light up their countenance.
08:49 And this is what she says.
08:51 She says, I asked the meaning of the shaking
08:54 that I had seen.
08:55 She says, and I was shown
08:56 that it would be caused by the straight testimony
08:59 called forth by the counsel of the true witness
09:01 to the Laodiceans.
09:04 This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver,
09:07 and will lead him to exalt the standard
09:09 and pour forth the straight truth.
09:12 Some will not bear this straight testimony,
09:15 they will rise up against it,
09:16 and this will cause a shaking among God's people."
09:20 I know that's a lengthy quote,
09:22 but my friends, we're going to talk about this,
09:23 probably in more parts than just two.
09:25 So, stay with us.
09:27 Last time we were here, just do a quick review, guys.
09:28 Last time we were here
09:30 as she said there in that last part
09:31 we just read.
09:33 We learned that this is a message
09:34 to the Laodiceans.
09:36 Yes. Okay.
09:37 And we went through that message
09:38 to Laodicea
09:40 but more specifically,
09:41 she says that the shaking would be brought
09:42 about by the council to Laodicea.
09:45 And so, we focused in on this council
09:47 and that council to Laodicea
09:49 is found in Revelation Chapter 3,
09:51 beginning with verse 18.
09:53 Dakota, why don't you read that for us?
09:54 Revelation Chapter 3, beginning with verse 18.
09:57 What does that say there?
09:58 Yes, it says,
10:00 "I counsel thee to buy of me gold
10:01 tried in the fire,
10:03 that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment,
10:05 that thou mayest be clothed,
10:07 and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear,
10:10 and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve,
10:12 that thou mayest see."
10:14 So in part one,
10:15 we spent quite a bit of time
10:17 talking about the first part of that council,
10:19 which is, of course, he says,
10:21 I counsel you to buy
10:23 from me gold refine in the fire.
10:24 We learned that in the Bible,
10:25 that's that pure gold like faith of Jesus.
10:28 Yes. Amen.
10:29 Patience of the saints
10:31 who keep the commandments of God
10:32 and have the faith of Jesus.
10:33 And we've got a little bit into part two
10:35 talking about the second part of that council,
10:38 which is those white garments
10:39 and that's where we want to begin today,
10:41 Brother Kenny, Sister Chris.
10:43 It says there in that,
10:44 in the second council there, it says,
10:47 and white garments that you may be clothed,
10:51 that the shame of your nakedness
10:53 may not be revealed.
10:55 So that's what we want to dissect now,
10:57 talk about these white garments and keep in mind,
11:00 she says this is the message
11:02 that's gonna bring about a shaking
11:03 in the last days.
11:04 And so, what about these white garments?
11:06 Let's talk about it.
11:08 Well, you know, I was thinking, we studied it,
11:10 I think many times and been over it,
11:12 but I'm still learning.
11:13 That's right.
11:15 Because in the robe of righteousness
11:16 and how valuable it is,
11:18 and how it's really to be put on,
11:20 there're conditions to my salvation.
11:22 I accept Christ and I go on.
11:25 And receiving that robe of righteousness
11:27 is again we have to, we have to be seeking for it.
11:30 I think one of the things was by of me.
11:32 Right?
11:33 It's nothing that we can attain on our own.
11:35 Right?
11:36 We have to seek Him and we have to buy
11:38 and I think you mentioned in that lesson
11:39 before talking about it, it cost.
11:42 And I don't know about you, but in your life, it costs
11:44 but you know, it's still small price to pay
11:47 for heaven to live eternally with Jesus.
11:50 We all go through things in this life.
11:52 We know that, we all go through things,
11:53 there's tests and there's trials,
11:55 realize there's God's little workman,
11:57 but again, we need to stay our self open before God,
11:59 confessing our sins.
12:01 That was the message of John the Baptist
12:03 as you all know.
12:04 That's right.
12:05 And that was the first coming of Jesus,
12:07 we're approaching the second coming of Jesus.
12:09 Our message still has to be the same.
12:11 Repent, you know, be baptized, right?
12:14 Get our life right.
12:16 How can we help others
12:18 when we're carrying around a lot of these burdens
12:19 and these heavy things in our own life,
12:22 and restfulness and peacefulness
12:24 is just laying everything at the feet of Jesus
12:26 and by faith getting up and leaving them there.
12:28 I've had the tendency a few times to go back
12:30 and pick him up because I wanted to help God.
12:33 He doesn't need my help, I made a mess of it.
12:36 And so, He brings us back to that,
12:37 but that robe of righteous, I praise God for it.
12:39 And again,
12:41 no one will enter the kingdom without it and buy of Him.
12:44 So, I think God, you know, for that promise
12:47 of helping us gain victory over sin
12:49 and moving on and then robe of righteousness
12:51 is Christ righteous in His life.
12:53 That's certainly where I failed.
12:55 He certainly had to gain victory.
12:56 Powerful.
12:57 You said something just then
12:59 that really sparked something in me,
13:00 at least brought up a question.
13:02 Oh.
13:03 And that is you said buy of me, buy of me.
13:07 Dakota, I have to go to you on this one.
13:09 Because in a previous study that we did,
13:11 you did a beautiful job of bringing out
13:13 and talking about
13:15 how we that the gospel comes at a price, right?
13:18 Now I want to cover the...
13:20 I want to make this very, very clear.
13:21 We know that salvation is free, it's a free gift, right?
13:26 So we're not saying
13:27 that it comes at a price in the sense that you know
13:28 you can purchase your way to heaven.
13:30 I said I was doing a study one time on the ten virgins.
13:33 And if you remember the council
13:35 that the five wise virgins
13:37 give to the five foolish virgins,
13:39 they say you know
13:40 because the five foolish say to the wise,
13:42 you know, hey, give us of your oil
13:43 because we don't have enough, right?
13:45 And then what are the five wise say to the five foolish?
13:47 You have to go buy your own.
13:48 You know, go buy from them that sell.
13:51 And then, you know,
13:53 I made that connection one time,
13:54 you know, over Revelation there's someone selling.
13:56 There's someone that's actually says
13:58 buy from Me and it's Jesus, right?
14:00 We know that Jesus says, buy from Me.
14:02 And I made the,
14:03 I made the comment one time in the Bible study I said,
14:05 you know, can you buy the Holy Spirit?
14:08 And, of course, the obvious answer is no.
14:09 Right?
14:11 And so, everyone around the room is
14:12 no, no, no, no, no, you can't buy the Holy Spirit.
14:14 Well, just to spark a little bit of conversation
14:17 and maybe throw a little bit of a wrench
14:19 in the pile there just to kind of spark thought.
14:21 I said, yes, you can.
14:23 You can buy the Holy Spirit.
14:25 And, of course, you know,
14:26 the attitude in the room changed really quickly,
14:28 and they said, what?
14:30 Well, you know, you can't buy it,
14:31 you know, it's apostasy to say something like that.
14:33 Well, obviously, we can't buy
14:35 the Holy Spirit with money, right?
14:37 It's not like we say, look, Jesus, I have,
14:38 you know, $100 million in my bank account.
14:40 Surely, You can give me your Holy Spirit.
14:42 Not like that.
14:43 But yet, you know,
14:45 think about the Parable of the Pearl of Great Price.
14:47 And Mrs. White says in Christ's Object Lesson,
14:49 she says, "The salvation comes at a cost,
14:52 at a price."
14:53 Dakota, dissect that for us.
14:55 You did beautifully before, just kind of remind us.
14:57 How can we buy the Holy Spirit?
14:59 What did Jesus say when He's saying here,
15:01 I count you to buy from me gold,
15:03 buy that white garment.
15:04 What is He saying here?
15:06 Yeah, so we talked about the gold
15:07 in our last study
15:08 representing the faith of Jesus, right?
15:10 And we know that the white raiment
15:12 is also is what He's encouraging us
15:13 to buy, right?
15:15 And we know the white raiment represents
15:16 Christ's righteousness, Christ's right doing.
15:18 And the only way we can have the faith of Jesus
15:20 and the only way we can have Christ
15:22 right doing in our lives
15:23 is that we have to give up our sin.
15:26 So, the trade that we take here,
15:28 the purchase that we're making here
15:30 is that we are purchasing God's faith
15:33 and God's victory over sin power,
15:35 the power of the Holy Spirit
15:37 by giving up our sins to Jesus.
15:39 And then Jesus,
15:41 therefore returns will give us His spirit
15:42 and give us His sanctifying grace.
15:44 And I think that this is where a lot of people,
15:47 you know, tend to struggle with their walk with God
15:49 is that they don't,
15:50 they don't want to give up our sin
15:51 because it's not natural for us
15:53 to want to give up what we love.
15:55 And this is where, how do we get that?
15:57 How do we get to where we can give it up?
15:59 Well, this is why we have to look to Jesus.
16:01 The more we look to Jesus,
16:03 the more we will fall in love with Him.
16:05 And, you know, when I first met my wife, Anna,
16:08 Ryan, you know, Anna,
16:09 we spend a lot of time around her.
16:11 When I first met my wife, Anna,
16:12 I fell in love with her looks
16:14 but I didn't fall in love with her
16:16 because I had to spend time around her.
16:18 And the more time I spent with her,
16:19 and I'm sure you guys can say the same
16:21 and you and Stephanie can say the same.
16:22 The more time I spent around her,
16:23 the more I fell in love with her.
16:25 And so much that if she asked of me
16:27 anything to surrender,
16:29 because of my love for her, I would give it up gladly.
16:32 And so, I think it's the same with us in Jesus.
16:34 And if we're wanting to truly be changed
16:36 and molded and shaped into His likeness,
16:38 and to have His righteousness,
16:39 that white raiment, right?
16:41 Then we have to give up our sin.
16:43 Absolutely, absolutely.
16:44 I was thinking of, you know,
16:45 identifying kind of dialing in
16:47 what we're talking about
16:48 when it says this white garment.
16:50 Isaiah 61:10 comes to mind here,
16:53 which identifies
16:54 what this garment represents, right?
16:56 So, it says,
16:57 "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord.
16:59 My soul shall be joyful in my God.
17:03 For He has clothed me with garments of salvation."
17:06 There it is, but then he dials it in,
17:08 he says,
17:09 "He has covered me
17:11 with the robe of righteousness."
17:14 It's Isaiah 61:10, robes of righteousness, white,
17:19 white garments, white righteousness.
17:22 You know, let's talk a little bit about this,
17:23 a little bit about this garment
17:24 because doesn't Jesus tell us a parable in the gospels
17:27 about a man who showed up at an event, at a wedding?
17:32 And he didn't have the proper raiment on,
17:36 you know, what does that say about us today, you know,
17:38 preparing to have that white raiment
17:41 so that we may be clothed.
17:42 Amen. Amen.
17:44 Well, in my mind,
17:46 just to maybe start off a little bit here,
17:47 we realized that he came to the wedding, right?
17:51 And again, we're talking about heaven,
17:52 getting into heaven.
17:53 So just make it very simple in our minds.
17:55 And he came with his own, we call self-righteousness.
17:58 He came with his own thoughts
18:00 and so on and his same old character.
18:03 And he was cast out.
18:05 So, we have to have the robe of Christ's righteousness,
18:07 that was His life, right,
18:08 His victories where we've been defeated,
18:10 where we've all sinned
18:11 and come short of the glory of God,
18:13 there's none good, not one.
18:14 How in the world
18:16 we're going to repopulate heaven
18:17 when they said there's none good, no, not one.
18:19 There's not a chance for us on our own.
18:21 That's right.
18:22 No one will make it to the kingdom.
18:24 It's because of Jesus.
18:25 He said, where you fail, I gained the victory for you.
18:29 You've already failed.
18:31 You're under death penalty.
18:32 I'm the only one that can save you.
18:33 And sometime we're looking for other gods
18:35 in all different places.
18:36 There's only one that we can go to,
18:39 only one that can forgive our sins,
18:41 only one that's willing to put His robe,
18:43 His victory, victorious life over this mess of mine.
18:47 But I like what?
18:48 We have to surrender to Him first.
18:51 We have to gain victory over sin through His power,
18:54 not in ourselves.
18:55 You know, we,
18:57 I feel like we're defeated many times
18:58 is because
19:00 when we're trying to gain a victory over something
19:02 in our life,
19:03 I look in the mirror and I see myself.
19:06 And as soon as you see yourself
19:08 as total disaster like, I've tried,
19:09 it appears I've tried 1000 times,
19:11 a million times, I can't.
19:13 I said it's because we're looking
19:15 in the wrong place,
19:16 you see, we're looking at ourself, total defeat.
19:19 We know ourself,
19:20 we know there's no hope outside of Christ.
19:22 And so, we need to look to Him, that's what it says,
19:25 you know, if I be lifted up, would draw men unto me,
19:27 if I be lifted up, that said, draw all men to me.
19:29 This is the whole thing, I think, let's look at,
19:31 just put Jesus out there, continue to look to Him,
19:34 He'll give you great strength and faith and courage
19:36 that victory can be assured
19:37 and once we mentioned in another lesson,
19:39 it's be His life, His life,
19:41 living His life guarantees by the grace of God,
19:44 if I submit to Him,
19:45 I can too gain those victories over those things
19:49 that so easily beset me at times.
19:51 May I interject?
19:53 Yes, ma'am. Please do.
19:55 Yeah.
19:56 First of all, I have to praise God
19:58 for His mercy and His patience.
20:02 And you kids can look at us
20:04 until we're grandma and grandpa.
20:07 Thank you, honey.
20:08 But when I go through these things,
20:10 I think how is it
20:13 that there's going to be people come in at the last hour?
20:16 Yes.
20:17 And going to be able to learn what has taken us a life.
20:20 Oh, yes.
20:22 That true witness presents a straight testimony.
20:27 And when I hear
20:28 even what you read in the beginning,
20:30 it reminds me of my walk in this faith,
20:33 my walk with Jesus.
20:35 There was a time that
20:36 that straight testimony cut so deep
20:39 that there were certain books
20:41 I wouldn't look at for two or three years,
20:43 seriously 'cause it hurt.
20:47 You know, we are raised in a world
20:49 that Christianity is accepted.
20:52 Oh, it's good to be a Christian.
20:53 You're going to church. So, are you a Christian?
20:55 Have you accepted Christ?
20:56 All you have to do is believe and be saved.
20:59 But the true witness once you believe
21:03 and He takes you under His wing
21:05 and you begin to walk
21:06 into the shadow of the Most High God,
21:08 He begins to show you things,
21:10 He begins to show you the dross,
21:12 He begins to show us our characters.
21:14 And we don't like seeing hurt.
21:17 I mean, I'm a girl, okay?
21:19 I go out, I love to work out in the yard,
21:22 and I can get my fingers dirty,
21:24 I can get my face dirty and, and I can come in
21:27 but I want to wash after I come in.
21:29 I'm not satisfied staying dirty.
21:31 Thank you.
21:32 So, when God begins to point out
21:33 how dirty I am,
21:36 when I thought I was okay, it hurts.
21:39 Sure.
21:40 You know, so, it's only by His grace,
21:44 it's only by His tender mercy, He is the great physician,
21:47 He comes down,
21:49 He does surgery like nobody else.
21:50 If somebody else had been over me and said,
21:52 look, you're not gonna make it if you don't,
21:54 if you don't stop wearing this, I'm not bringing you,
21:56 He's not gonna accept you.
21:58 I would have said, oh, that's not anybody,
22:00 I want to serve, that's not the loving Jesus.
22:02 I thought you were leading me too.
22:04 Yeah.
22:05 But because of His tenderness, His mercy,
22:08 He tells us how much He loves us.
22:10 He shows how much He's given for each and every one of us.
22:14 And He gently,
22:16 I've called this for years progressive revelation.
22:19 Of course.
22:20 If He had given me everything at once, have mercy.
22:24 I mean, already, I thought, I couldn't take it,
22:26 you know, at times.
22:28 Oh, yes.
22:29 But if He gave you everything at once,
22:30 you would be overwhelmed.
22:33 You would give up
22:34 and that's what the enemy wants from you.
22:36 You're not good enough, you'll never be like that,
22:39 you can't be like Jesus, come on.
22:41 Did you remember what you dreamed last night?
22:44 See what I'm saying?
22:46 So, he's the accuser of the brethren,
22:47 he tries to bring in discord,
22:49 he tries to make us bring in discouragement
22:52 and give us a lack of faith.
22:55 Yes.
22:57 He takes away our gold that was tried in the fire.
22:59 That's right.
23:01 There you go. Amen.
23:02 But because Jesus comes in
23:03 and I've spent a lot of tearful,
23:06 quiet times with Him over the years.
23:09 And there's times that I've had to just shut down
23:11 for a while,
23:13 and I knew that tomorrow would be
23:14 a better day.
23:15 But as He speaks to my heart, and then in that new day,
23:21 the gold looked a little different.
23:24 It had a little more shine to it.
23:25 That's right. A little heavy sometimes.
23:27 And I accepted
23:30 a lot of the condemnation about myself.
23:34 And I accepted those changes, but I think as Christians,
23:38 as we read God's Word,
23:40 you know, it's not for the Word to line up with us.
23:43 We have churches over the last 10 years
23:45 that literally they have thrown the Bible out
23:48 because the Word of God no longer fits their lifestyle.
23:53 Right. Yeah.
23:55 But it's not
23:58 that the Word of God is to fit our lifestyle.
24:01 It's that we are to come in line
24:03 with the Word of God and with Christ Jesus.
24:06 So I want to praise Him for His mercy.
24:08 Yes. That is so powerful.
24:09 It's so true. It's so true.
24:10 You know, as you were speaking,
24:12 there may be someone watching right now that says,
24:14 you know what, Ryan,
24:16 Jesus accepts us just the way we are.
24:17 Right?
24:18 And so, you're talking about a garment change,
24:20 you're talking about a new garment,
24:21 but yet, you know,
24:23 some people think literally, and they think,
24:24 you know, I come to Jesus just as I am
24:25 and He accepts us just the way that we are.
24:27 And there is truth to that.
24:28 And we don't want to deny that one bit.
24:30 You know, God finds us in the mire, right?
24:33 He finds us in the dirt,
24:35 you know, Paul would use the word dung,
24:37 dung, big dung, right?
24:39 We're wallowing in that vomit, right?
24:41 And the Lord finds us just like that,
24:44 does He cast us aside
24:45 and say, no, you're too dirty
24:46 and I don't want to deal with that, right?
24:48 No, no, no, He does accept as just the way that we are.
24:51 But here's the beautiful truth.
24:54 He doesn't want to leave us the way we are.
24:55 Thank you, Lord. That's right.
24:58 He accepts us the way that we are,
25:00 He brings us in with the garments
25:02 that we're wearing, right?
25:04 But is He gonna leave us in those old ragged garments?
25:07 No. No, He's not.
25:09 He wants to put a new garment upon us.
25:11 And that's why He's telling, He's telling Laodicea here,
25:13 He's saying, hey, look, you think you're cold,
25:16 but you're naked,
25:18 you're miserable, you're poor.
25:19 And guess what? On top of it all, you're blind.
25:21 We're going to talk about the light side
25:22 in just a moment.
25:24 You're blight.
25:25 You can't even see your condition.
25:27 He says, so please come to me,
25:28 I counsel you buy from me this gold,
25:31 this faith of gold, faith of Jesus
25:33 and these white beautiful, righteous garments,
25:36 not of your own righteousness but what does the Bible say?
25:39 Your righteousness is like filthy rags, right?
25:42 So He takes you, accepts you in your filthy rags,
25:45 and then He doesn't leave you that way,
25:47 He wants to change your garment.
25:49 I was thinking of the,
25:50 you know, on the Day of Atonement,
25:53 the high priest,
25:54 if anyone in that entire camp who knows millions of people
25:59 and if anyone could point to the one person
26:02 in all the camp that you could say,
26:03 now that's a holy man.
26:05 That man was chose for a holy purpose.
26:07 It would be the high priest.
26:08 But even the high priest had to change his garment
26:13 before he went into the presence of God.
26:16 And you can go read about it there,
26:17 Leviticus Chapter 16
26:18 where God specifically tells Aaron,
26:20 now keep this in mind,
26:21 Aaron was anointed, Aaron was chosen.
26:24 He was God's chosen vessel to serve in that manner.
26:27 But before,
26:28 Aaron could just bust up through that veil
26:30 into the Most Holy Place,
26:31 just wearing and thinking
26:33 that he could just go in there as he was.
26:34 The Lord gave him
26:35 specific instructions that said,
26:37 look, brother, change your garments,
26:38 and when you have changed your garments
26:40 and put on clean ones.
26:43 Clean ones, then you can come into My presence.
26:45 He had to make an atonement, did he not?
26:47 Exactly.
26:48 Well, it might be for himself and for his family
26:50 before he dared go into the presence of God
26:52 and sometime we just go open the doors
26:54 just bust in as we are God.
26:56 No, we should not. Sorry, I was...
26:58 No, no, it's beautiful.
26:59 I love that and when we think about the spotless garments.
27:01 I want to add this here,
27:02 and then we can kind of dissect it further.
27:04 Well, you know, there's a quote that I read.
27:08 I'm gonna see if I can find this real quick,
27:09 a quote that I read.
27:11 And I think it's a powerful lesson
27:12 that we can learn here.
27:13 Talking about,
27:15 this is the Upward Look, page 303.
27:18 Notice what it says, it says, "Christ took humanity
27:20 and bore the hatred of the world
27:22 that He might continue
27:25 to allow us to live in sin, right?
27:27 Because we have this horrible nature
27:29 that we can't overcome, right?
27:30 That's what the false evangelical gospel teaches.
27:34 The false evangelical gospel says, you know what?
27:36 Jesus saved you in your sin, you can't help it,
27:38 you're going to continue to sin,
27:39 sin, sin, sin, sin, sin all the way
27:41 until the second coming of Jesus,
27:42 where He's going to change your vile body liken to His.
27:45 But notice what she says here, the Upward Look, page 303,
27:47 Christ took humanity
27:48 and bore the hatred of the world
27:50 that He might show men and women
27:51 that they could live, notice, without sin.
27:54 In other words, spotless, spotless character,
27:58 spotless garment.
27:59 Let's go to Exodus 12.
28:01 I want to show something here, Exodus 12.
28:02 This is powerful.
28:04 And I've got to share this
28:05 just because it's fresh on my mind.
28:07 And the Holy Spirit's leading me to share,
28:09 so I'm going to do that.
28:11 Exodus Chapter 12.
28:12 And you guys feel free to jump in any moment
28:14 and give your views on this.
28:16 Exodus 12.
28:17 And if you notice the record
28:18 that we're going to find in Exodus 12 here,
28:20 this is the record of the instructions
28:23 that God is giving to Moses
28:24 and the children of Israel for Passover.
28:27 This is the very first Passover.
28:29 They're still in Egypt, right?
28:30 And He's about to,
28:31 He's giving them the instructions
28:33 on what they are to do because you know,
28:35 the angels about to come,
28:36 and He's going to pass over those
28:38 who have the blood of the lambs.
28:40 But notice this here, I'm gonna start in verse 3,
28:42 he says, "Speak
28:43 to all the congregation of Israel,
28:44 saying, on the tenth day of this month,
28:46 man shall take for himself a lamb.
28:49 According to the house of His father, notice,
28:52 a lamb for a household.
28:54 And if the household is too small for the lamb,
28:57 let him and his neighbor next to his house,
28:59 take it according to the number of the persons,
29:01 according to each man's need,
29:04 you shall make your account for the lamb."
29:05 Now notice this, these next ones here.
29:08 It says, "Your lamb shall be without blemish," okay?
29:12 Now right here there's gonna be people say, well, Ryan,
29:14 obviously Jesus is the Lamb,
29:16 His character spotless but mine's not.
29:18 So, Jesus spotless character is applied to mine.
29:21 Now there's some truth to that.
29:23 But notice,
29:24 notice what it continues to say on,
29:25 I love this, a spotless lamb, and it says here,
29:29 I lost my spot.
29:31 Okay, verse 5, "You shall be without blemish,
29:33 a male of the first year,
29:34 you shall take it from the sheep
29:36 or from the goats.
29:37 Now you shall keep it
29:38 until the fourteenth day of the same month
29:40 and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel
29:43 shall kill it at twilight,
29:44 now notice, they brought it out on day 10.
29:47 And they would bring it into their house
29:50 for three and a half days.
29:52 Interesting.
29:53 How long was Jesus ministry?
29:55 Three and a half years.
29:56 Jesus is the lamp.
29:58 Now I make this connection because of this.
29:59 She says in this quote here,
30:01 Christ took humanity
30:02 and bore the hatred of the world
30:04 that He might show men and women
30:05 that they could live without sin.
30:06 Jesus was without sin, He was the spotlessly lamb.
30:09 Amen.
30:10 But now you get to the Book of Revelation.
30:12 Jesus is, you know,
30:14 He's already made the sacrifice.
30:15 And now He looks back to Laodicea.
30:17 And He says, wait a second.
30:19 I want you to also have spotless white garments.
30:24 I counsel you to buy that for me.
30:26 Right?
30:27 So, let's talk about this for a moment.
30:28 Let's kind of just dissect this
30:30 before we jump into the eyesalve part.
30:31 What is it mean?
30:33 And how can we make sure that our garments are spotless.
30:36 We know that it's not of our effort,
30:38 but it's of Christ.
30:39 Let's dissect that for a moment,
30:41 spotless white garments.
30:42 I know you guys are going probably deeper than me.
30:44 So, let me take first. Yeah, go ahead.
30:47 I think it's important to understand
30:49 because a lot of people are just like perfection.
30:51 How's that possible? That's impossible.
30:54 You know, but when you put that word
30:58 and apply it to the Word of God,
31:00 perfection is living up to the light.
31:03 The truth, light is truth.
31:05 Jesus is the Word, the Word of Truth,
31:08 living up to the light that we have.
31:10 Okay.
31:11 You know, as a teacher,
31:14 and I was very scholastic in my younger years,
31:18 and now that I'm getting older,
31:20 I get a little bit more forgetting,
31:21 and it bothers me that I can't retain,
31:23 I can't recall as well as I used to,
31:25 I can't memorize like I used to,
31:27 but I keep trying.
31:28 I keep trying by the grace of God.
31:31 So, it's not really how smart you are.
31:34 God never said,
31:36 well, only those that are really intelligent
31:37 are going to make it to the kingdom of heaven.
31:39 Only those that are really intelligent
31:41 are going to have that robe of righteousness.
31:42 I'll be in trouble otherwise.
31:44 And you look, you know,
31:45 you guys have come to visit Behold the Lamb you've seen,
31:47 we have a young lady there loves Jesus.
31:51 She has down syndrome.
31:53 It's living up to the light that we had.
31:56 That's right. Amen. That's perfection in Jesus.
31:59 And He will cover us with His robe of righteousness.
32:02 I like it.
32:04 It is a process of sanctification.
32:07 It is a process of the daily.
32:09 I would love, you guys need to look online
32:12 one of these days when it's on there,
32:13 he did a sermon on the daily.
32:15 It's wonderful, it applies to our relationship,
32:17 our study, our daily prayers every day,
32:21 because if we don't have that,
32:22 that experience,
32:24 we're not going to go into the Most Holy Place
32:25 and we certainly will not be able to receive
32:28 that robe of righteousness.
32:30 So, it's a daily walk, it's a daily progression
32:34 because as God's, it's the ladder,
32:37 it's Jacob's ladder.
32:38 As you,
32:40 as you get a clear vision of one rung
32:42 and God says, okay, they're ready to go on,
32:44 they're living up to that light.
32:47 Let's give them another rung
32:49 and let's give them another rung.
32:50 And remember,
32:51 you can't take your eyes off of what,
32:53 Dakota, you can't take your eyes off of Jesus
32:56 at the top
32:57 or where's it's just gonna fall back.
32:59 You know, you can stand still,
33:00 you either are going to get keep climbing
33:03 or you just go back.
33:05 You cannot stand still, you've got to keep.
33:07 And it's also, let me point out this
33:09 'cause I had a grandma,
33:11 I had a grandma that was illiterate.
33:13 And back in the day,
33:15 they just started coming out with a Bible on cassette.
33:18 And I said, "Grandma, let me get you those cassettes
33:21 because I was going to study,
33:22 it was called Southern Missionary College
33:24 at the time.
33:25 It's now Southern University.
33:26 I was going, I said, "Grandma, look,
33:28 if I spend this much money, I get a free cassette,
33:30 you know, they were giving them out."
33:33 I said, "I could get you those cassettes, grandma,
33:34 and you could listen to them."
33:36 No. she didn't want to know.
33:39 Because grandma would ask me questions once in a while.
33:42 And grandma didn't want to know
33:44 any more than she already knew.
33:46 Now then, we are so blessed for the Spirit of Prophecy.
33:51 She makes it very clear.
33:53 We will be judged by the knowledge we had
33:56 opportunity to learn
33:58 and we failed to do
34:00 as well as the knowledge we have.
34:02 So, we have to keep climbing, you can never be still,
34:05 you need to keep in that daily word,
34:06 you need to keep studying, so that God can cover us.
34:11 But the devil is going to attack you
34:13 when you do that.
34:14 You better believe it. You know that.
34:16 I had a dream one time about, you know, stairway to heaven.
34:19 You know, and so the Lord was showing me,
34:22 you know, stairway to heaven,
34:24 and I saw myself
34:25 on that stairway toward the ladder.
34:28 And so, but I wasn't walking up,
34:30 I was laying out prone,
34:32 I was laying out prone
34:34 trying to get to the next step or the rung
34:36 or whatever you want to call it.
34:37 And so, I knew
34:39 I needed to put forth an effort
34:41 even, you know, by the grace of God,
34:42 we realized that but we have to have an effort
34:44 or something we need to do is commit to do it.
34:46 And I knew where heaven was at and I wanted so to get there.
34:50 It seemed like every time I tried to get rung
34:52 a little bit higher, another step,
34:53 the devil was there.
34:55 So I would reach up
34:56 and I put my hand hard as I could,
34:58 and I get a hold and just barely get a hold.
35:00 By the time I got a hold with my hands,
35:02 my feet would slip off,
35:04 so the only thing was holding it was the hand
35:07 and then here come the enemy
35:09 and he began to chisel underneath my fingers there
35:12 so that I would,
35:14 he'd seen my feet wasn't steadfast
35:16 because something else was happening
35:18 shaking, shaking was going on.
35:19 Okay. All right.
35:20 And I then said, Lord, help me, I don't want to,
35:23 if I let go here, I'm gone.
35:24 I'm gonna go on down, you know,
35:26 and about the time my hands chisel out,
35:28 things of this world would chisel out.
35:30 See, and all of a sudden I thought,
35:31 oh, no, God, Lord, help me.
35:33 And all of a sudden,
35:34 my feet would find the platform.
35:37 And I thought, oh, okay, we've got it.
35:39 And I look around and there he is
35:40 down there with his little hammer
35:42 and chisel, just a dream.
35:43 He's chiseling away the feet,
35:45 say, I'm going to get you this time.
35:46 But every time on that rung to get a little bit higher,
35:50 there was the enemy,
35:51 just there to take away and so again I had a dream.
35:54 I said, Lord, show me,
35:56 show me where I'm at in my Christian experience.
35:59 Show me where I'm at
36:01 and what the people need in the church,
36:03 you know what we all need in the church.
36:05 And so, I dreamed
36:07 I was in the pulpit just preaching away,
36:09 you know, this storm just gonna,
36:11 and all sudden the people were gone.
36:14 Lord, where's the people?
36:15 You know, a preacher likes people.
36:19 So I said, you know where they are at.
36:20 And I thought, well, I'm just going to get down
36:21 as I say locomotion, but I'm not sure.
36:24 So, I got down, I said, show me,
36:25 where the people are at,
36:27 where I'm at so that we can,
36:28 you know, climb a little higher.
36:31 And so, I got down on the platform,
36:32 and I went and I looked in the first pew,
36:34 and all the members were in bassinets.
36:38 They were babies on sucking pacifiers.
36:40 Right. That sounds a little goofy.
36:42 I thought, what's going on here?
36:44 So, I went to the next row and I looked in everybody,
36:47 everybody in their little cradle,
36:48 just little babies with a little bonnets on
36:50 and I'm looking at that
36:51 I recognize the face but not the body, you know.
36:55 I thought, Lord, well you show me
36:56 where they're at.
36:58 And then I looked around at myself and lo and behold,
37:00 if I didn't have one of those little bonnets on,
37:01 a little pacifier,
37:03 and I was crawling along like a little baby myself.
37:06 So, Lord reveals things to us
37:08 and I realize right then where am I at.
37:10 I'm just a baby.
37:12 And I need help from the master.
37:14 Of course.
37:15 You know, that, to me, this is, this part of it.
37:17 And instead of depressing and getting discouraged,
37:21 I looked up and I said, oh, Lord, I need Your help.
37:23 Amen.
37:25 I don't want to stay like this forever, you know.
37:26 Beautiful thing about babies and kids and children
37:28 which Jesus said we should be like little children
37:30 or we will not inherit heaven.
37:31 And is that a kid and a baby
37:33 is 100% dependent upon their parents.
37:35 Yes. Yes. Yes. Hallelujah.
37:38 You know, we go to our parents for everything, for food,
37:41 for shelter, everything and they don't worry,
37:44 they don't fret because they know,
37:45 they have faith and know
37:47 that mom and dad is gonna take care of business.
37:49 They're gonna be there for him to provide.
37:51 Glory. Thank you.
37:52 I was listening to a message just recently
37:55 and this fits so well with what you just said
37:58 because we know that there's coming a time
38:00 and this anguish, this message that we're living,
38:03 this is so important for this time
38:05 that we're living in now,
38:07 and what's ahead of us
38:08 because we need to aguishly be in prayer with God for help.
38:12 But Spirit of Prophecy makes it very clear
38:15 that when our support is gone,
38:18 when we have no money in the bank,
38:20 you know, just think of the time
38:22 we just went through this year with COVID.
38:26 You know, and it's still happening,
38:27 how quickly things change.
38:29 We didn't know
38:30 if the banks were going to fall,
38:32 we're now in a confirmed recession.
38:35 You know, we realize
38:36 things can happen any moment at any time.
38:39 But she says when there's no money,
38:41 when everything is gone,
38:44 we are to come to that in a peaceful frame of mind
38:50 as Christ went to the cross.
38:52 Wow. Amen.
38:53 Powerful.
38:55 We cannot do that on our own.
38:56 No. Oh, absolutely.
38:58 But only as Christ is living within us.
39:00 That's right. Amen.
39:01 And He's sheltering us.
39:03 But you see babies, we need Him for everything.
39:06 We're going to need Him to know where to go.
39:09 There's going to be a time,
39:10 we know people should be moving out of the cities now.
39:14 I mean, we just had an experience
39:15 where if you wanted to leave the city, you could not.
39:18 We realize that prophecy tells us
39:20 that when the Sunday law is passed,
39:22 that's it, your house may not be sold,
39:25 you need to get out.
39:26 And then you know, you may be in a small town,
39:29 you may be in a country,
39:30 but there's gonna come a time of trouble.
39:33 You know, as things laws are passed,
39:35 and things begin to heighten and heaten
39:38 that we're going to have to leave
39:40 even for a more remote place.
39:44 We're babies again.
39:45 Oh, man.
39:46 We have to call out.
39:48 We have to learn to trust and have faith in God,
39:52 for our very food, for our health, for our life.
39:56 You know, I've often said, well, if God doesn't heal me,
40:00 how am I going to make it through, I'm asthmatic.
40:02 I praise, I praise God for His natural remedies.
40:06 I've been able to overcome a lot of things,
40:09 but not the asthma.
40:11 And not, you know, I have food allergies,
40:13 all these things.
40:14 But I also know there's healings
40:15 in the presence of God, I've seen that firsthand.
40:18 And I know that He can do that.
40:20 But a lot of people I believe are questioning these things.
40:23 How am I going to do it?
40:24 How am I going to do it?
40:25 It's that faith of a little child.
40:28 It's going back. That's right.
40:30 And Lord show me.
40:31 I mean, Mrs. White had a dream,
40:33 she had a dream where when it was really bad,
40:36 the angel came and took them to a remote place
40:39 and when she got there,
40:40 there were other Christians that had been led there.
40:43 So, we're on the winning side, don't ever, ever give up,
40:48 just plead for direction,
40:50 plead for the latter rain experience,
40:52 plead to be covered in the righteousness of Christ,
40:55 to have the mind of Christ.
40:56 You know, everything you're saying there.
40:58 I could hear someone saying, you know, Miss Chris,
41:00 I hear what you're saying but,
41:02 I can't necessarily see what you're seeing.
41:06 I don't see the things that you see
41:09 which is where
41:10 this third counsel comes in, right?
41:12 Is there's a third part of this council
41:14 where you got to see here, folks.
41:15 Notice here.
41:16 So, we've got the faith of gold.
41:18 We've got the garments of righteousness, right?
41:21 But then there's a third one here.
41:22 It says, Jesus says
41:23 and anoint your eyes with eyesalve
41:26 that you may see.
41:27 Now this is kind of ironic
41:29 that Jesus is saying this to Laodicea
41:30 because if you notice
41:31 or if you know anything about the literal history
41:34 of Laodicea then, you know, Laodicea was a real city.
41:37 And if you read the history of Laodicea,
41:40 you'll know that they were famously known,
41:41 they were notorious for their medical sciences
41:45 and their medical institutions.
41:46 And one of the things that they were famous for
41:48 was this special medical eyesalve
41:51 that they had produced
41:52 and made known around the regions.
41:53 People would travel all over the world
41:55 and come into their cities,
41:56 and that they would come specifically for this eyesalve
41:59 and it's amazing that Jesus is now telling them,
42:01 you need to put
42:02 some of that eyesalve on yourself.
42:04 That's right. That's right.
42:05 Because I need you to see, right?
42:07 And there's a few texts that come to my mind here.
42:09 Just notice John 3:3.
42:11 What does Jesus say to Nicodemus,
42:12 one of the spiritual leaders of Israel?
42:15 He says to him in John 3:3,
42:17 he says, "Most surely I say to you,
42:18 unless one is born again,
42:20 he cannot see the kingdom of God."
42:22 Yes.
42:24 There's something about us
42:25 that we need the spiritual vision,
42:27 anoint your eyes with eyesalve.
42:29 2 Kings 6:17,
42:31 is probably one of my favorite stories.
42:33 I love this because,
42:35 you know, this tells a story about how the,
42:38 I think it was the Syrian armies
42:39 were coming in Israel,
42:41 and but yet, Israel had a prophet.
42:43 It was Elisha. Yes.
42:44 And Elisha was given the king's tips and saying,
42:46 look, they're coming here, they're going there.
42:48 And it got back to the Syrian king
42:50 and he said, who is this guy and this man?
42:52 They say, there's a man of God out here
42:54 telling this battalion the king of Israel
42:56 all of our moves.
42:57 And so, the Syrian army,
42:59 you know, Syrian king says,
43:00 look, gather the armies and go out
43:01 and take this brother out.
43:03 Well, they basically surround,
43:06 they go out and they meet
43:07 and they surround the place of Elisha.
43:09 Elisha had a servant
43:11 and the servant goes and steps outside
43:12 and he looks and he sees all these army
43:14 surrounding and encamped about their house there,
43:17 he goes back in and tells Elisha,
43:18 hey, these army,
43:19 there's an army out here just for us, we're done,
43:22 we're doomed, right?
43:23 And Elisha, I could just imagine,
43:24 Elisha's like, man, look,
43:26 there may be a lot of them
43:28 but there's a whole lot more of us
43:30 than they are of them.
43:31 You could imagine this brother's confusion.
43:33 Yeah.
43:34 Because in that moment he's going,
43:37 there's me and then you,
43:41 and there's like a 2000 of them out there, right?
43:44 I'm just throwing out a number.
43:45 But seriously Elisha knew, Elisha have that faith of gold.
43:48 Amen. He had that white garment.
43:50 And he was using this moment to,
43:52 to witness to this brother.
43:53 Yes.
43:54 And this brother he is, Elisha praises, he says,
43:57 God, please open this brother's eyes.
43:59 But notice, what he says, verse 16 or it's verse 17.
44:02 2 Kings 6:17.
44:04 And Elisha prayed and said, Lord, I pray,
44:06 open his eyes that he may see.
44:09 Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw.
44:12 We need that spiritual vision, don't we?
44:14 Amen.
44:15 Because we, you know,
44:16 there's a great controversy battle.
44:18 There's things going around us right now
44:19 that we don't really know about.
44:21 The forces of evil
44:23 that are coming against us at time
44:24 and we don't realize
44:26 that God is sending out legions of angels,
44:28 all around us, protecting us every single day of the year.
44:32 I think of the man and I'm gonna throw up,
44:33 I'm getting excited here.
44:35 I don't mean to talk a lot.
44:36 I'm gonna toss this to you
44:37 and let you give your piece in just a moment.
44:39 But John Chapter 9, I love this.
44:40 Because Jesus heals this blind man
44:41 and He tells him, look, don't go,
44:43 don't tell nobody just leave it alone.
44:45 Well, the blind man goes back to the temple,
44:47 he shows himself
44:48 and these people are just baffled,
44:50 even the priest.
44:51 What?
44:53 Is this the same guy that was blind from birth?
44:55 You know, and so they finally go
44:56 and interrogate the parents.
44:58 You know what, what's going on here?
44:59 The parents say, well, we don't know nothing at all.
45:01 All we, you need to talk to his brother.
45:02 They were afraid.
45:03 And I love his response
45:05 when they are interrogating him and it came down to the moment.
45:07 He says one thing I know.
45:09 That's right. That's right. That's right.
45:11 He didn't get so big in-depth account,
45:13 he's like one thing I know simplest witness in the world
45:17 was powerful.
45:18 He says one thing I know that though I was blind,
45:21 what's Laodicea's problem?
45:23 He says, you're miserable, wretched poor,
45:26 blind and naked.
45:27 He said, although I was blind, now I see.
45:32 When you have an encounter with Jesus,
45:34 your spiritual vision changes,
45:37 He gives you a spiritual vision.
45:39 He gives you a spiritual discernment
45:41 like no other.
45:42 And that reminds me of 1 Corinthians 2:14, it says,
45:45 but the natural man does not receive
45:48 the things of the Spirit of God,
45:50 for they are foolishness to Him.
45:53 And that brings me back to what you were just saying.
45:54 I said earlier, someone may be watching this
45:56 and I'm not meaning it
45:58 in a degrading negative type way
45:59 or critical way.
46:00 It all fit though. It all fits. Right.
46:02 Because it's the grace of God
46:03 and the grace of God is what gives us
46:04 that spirit of discernment.
46:06 So, it all fits. Right.
46:07 And so, someone may be watching and saying,
46:09 I don't get this.
46:10 I'm not understanding this.
46:11 I mean, they're talking about victory over sin
46:13 and growth and all this.
46:14 We know, to me,
46:15 I was raised in a gospel, even me,
46:17 I was raised in the gospel and said,
46:18 you know, just believe and be saved.
46:20 Now the gospel can be that simplistic.
46:21 For instance, the thief on the cross.
46:24 He believed and he's saved, right?
46:27 But sometimes we over,
46:29 we overextend or oversimplify the gospel.
46:32 I'm not trying to make it sound complicated,
46:33 but we dilute it down to a cheap grace,
46:37 you know, just believe,
46:38 you know, and then I'll be saved.
46:40 You know, the Bible says
46:41 the devil believes and trembles, right?
46:43 But notice what it says here, it says
46:44 that they are foolishness to Him,
46:46 nor can He know them
46:48 because they are spiritually discerned.
46:51 So, Dakota, give us your thoughts on this,
46:54 spiritual discernment, spiritual vision.
46:57 What about this eyesalve? What can we learn?
46:59 I think, you know,
47:01 when we know the great controversy
47:02 between Christ and Satan, from the very beginning,
47:04 from the war in heaven
47:05 that we read about in Revelation Chapter 12,
47:08 the war in heaven broke out between Michael and the dragon.
47:10 When we read about that,
47:12 you know, I think and understand what's that,
47:15 what that warfare is really about,
47:17 but about worship,
47:18 and about, you know,
47:21 the devil being so upset with Jesus
47:24 and he didn't want Jesus,
47:26 you know, he was looking to himself,
47:27 reading Isaiah 14 there
47:28 that he wanted to be like the Most High.
47:30 And when we see all of that, I think that our, you know,
47:34 I pray this all the time, I say, Lord,
47:35 help me to see this controversy,
47:37 this great cosmic dilemma between You and Satan,
47:39 help me to see this
47:41 more and more in my day to day life.
47:42 Because sometimes when we get mad
47:44 or we get angry,
47:45 we go about our day to day life.
47:47 We don't really see what the devil is doing.
47:50 We don't see how the evil angels
47:52 are also trying to really attack our life.
47:54 And it's because a lot of the times we forget,
47:58 that the story is that
47:59 we're in a spiritual warfare, right?
48:01 That's right.
48:02 And the reason why we tend to not see is
48:04 because we're not constantly in God's Word.
48:06 We're not constantly spending time with Jesus.
48:09 And so, we lose our spiritual eyesight
48:10 when we're not constantly spending time with the Lord.
48:13 And I just want to make a point here,
48:15 and I'm just kind of backtracking just a bit
48:17 on the white raiment
48:18 because there was a few things
48:20 I wanted to bring out from that.
48:21 And that is that, you know, a lot of people think
48:22 that we get the white raiment by what we do.
48:27 And we've made it clear
48:29 that that's not how we receive the white raiment.
48:30 I just want to make a few points here.
48:31 Jesus, so, Jesus,
48:34 He delivers the children of Israel first
48:36 and sets them free.
48:38 Then He gives them the Ten Commandments
48:39 and commands them on how to live their life.
48:42 So first you have the deliverance.
48:44 Now He expects obedience.
48:47 Amen. Right?
48:48 So, this is the path that we see in God's Word
48:51 all the way through.
48:52 And in Genesis,
48:53 I just want to bring out a few things.
48:55 This has to do with vision,
48:56 and this has to do with white raiment.
48:57 So, I'm going to use this as an example.
48:59 We know the story of the fall, Genesis Chapter 3.
49:02 We read about Adam and Eve.
49:05 And so, what happens here is that it says in Genesis 3:7,
49:09 you know, they ate of the tree, Satan deceived them.
49:12 And the eyes of them both were opened
49:14 and they knew that they were naked.
49:15 So now they have vision.
49:18 But see, it's spiritual vision.
49:19 Now they know something's happened.
49:21 Before all they knew that was good
49:25 but then Satan tempted them,
49:26 he says, you could be
49:28 like God's knowing good and evil.
49:29 Well, they knew what good was.
49:31 But they had no idea what evil was.
49:33 And so now, they ate, they disobeyed God
49:36 and immediately when they both partook
49:38 there was something there that changed
49:39 and they realized the guilt,
49:42 the changing of their own nature,
49:45 everything started to take place in change.
49:47 And it says their eyes of them both were open
49:49 and they knew that they were naked.
49:50 Now if you were stark naked right now in public,
49:53 like right now on this program, how would you feel?
49:56 Obviously ashamed and...
49:57 You would feel ashamed, right?
49:59 You would feel, oh, I need to cover up.
50:01 Absolutely. So, they felt naked.
50:02 And so, what did they do?
50:04 They tried covering up they sewed fig leaves together
50:06 and they made themselves aprons.
50:08 Too many times when we had that spiritual eyesight
50:10 and we know
50:11 there's something wrong with us.
50:13 In other words, Holy Spirit's convicting us.
50:14 What do we try to do? We try to fix it ourselves.
50:18 We try to white knuckle our way through live, right?
50:19 And cover it up.
50:21 We want to do it
50:22 and we start trying to cover up our own sins.
50:24 And this is what Adam Eve did,
50:26 they sewed fig leaves together said,
50:27 hey, guys, we're naked.
50:28 We got to, we got to fix this.
50:30 So, they grabbed fig leaves, they sew them together,
50:32 and they tried covering their nakedness.
50:33 But the problem was the fig leaves showed
50:35 too much cleavage.
50:37 Oh.
50:38 And so,
50:40 so God now is wanting to give them
50:41 better eyesight
50:43 that they may see
50:44 that this covering of their own,
50:46 this raiment that they have, it's not white and pure.
50:50 They need to change that raiment and they
50:51 and the only way they can do that
50:52 is to have vision.
50:54 That's right.
50:55 They get to see their condition.
50:57 They get to see their condition.
50:58 And so, what does he do?
50:59 It says that
51:01 and they heard the voice of the Lord God
51:02 walk in the garden at the cool of the day,
51:03 Adam and his wife hid themselves
51:05 from the presence of Lord God
51:06 amongst the trees of the garden.
51:08 Now, why did they hide?
51:09 Here's the point.
51:10 Listen, what does Satan do to us when we sin?
51:12 We doubt. Yeah.
51:13 What do we do?
51:15 We immediately feel bad about it, right?
51:16 We feel like so bad.
51:17 Oh, man, we feel so overwhelming guilt
51:20 and we start, get this,
51:21 we start to think
51:23 that the way that we think about ourselves
51:26 is the way that God thinks about us.
51:29 Did you get that?
51:30 Satan didn't quit messing with Adam and Eve
51:33 when they ate of the fruit.
51:34 It wasn't like, he's like, oh, my job's done.
51:36 That's right.
51:37 No, no, no, that was just the beginning.
51:38 He pressed the issue further.
51:40 Any he say hey, listen,
51:41 he's gonna be ashamed to see you this way.
51:43 Instead of running to Jesus,
51:44 he got them to hide from Jesus.
51:45 Right.
51:47 And this is where we're not,
51:48 you know, we do this
51:50 on our day to day lives, don't we?
51:51 We sin and we think I got to, I got to fix this myself
51:53 instead of running to Jesus.
51:54 And they try covering it up and so check this out.
51:57 So, what did God do
51:58 to ultimately solve this problem?
51:59 They got fig leaves on, God says, listen,
52:02 that's not gonna work,
52:03 showing too much cleavage, right?
52:05 So, He's like, okay,
52:06 let me give you a different garment.
52:07 And so, you go to Genesis 3:21.
52:10 It says unto Adam
52:11 also unto his wife to the Lord God make.
52:13 It's the only, listen, listen, this is powerful.
52:16 Check this out.
52:18 The first thing God made after creation was animal skin.
52:23 Yeah. Interesting.
52:26 Listen to this, the Lord God make,
52:29 He made coats of skins and clothed them.
52:31 Hold on a second.
52:33 What was He ultimately saying?
52:35 Is that your righteousness? It caused death.
52:37 What you've done
52:38 trying to cover up your sin is not good enough.
52:40 That's right. Only I can do it.
52:41 Now we know that He killed a lamb.
52:43 That's right.
52:44 Reason why Adam and Eve didn't die
52:46 is because a lamb died in their place
52:47 and that lamb represented the Lamb that was slain
52:49 from the foundation of the world.
52:50 Jesus Christ in Revelation 13
52:52 and they called the Lamb that was slain
52:53 from the foundation of the world.
52:54 Jesus stood in man's place to take the death.
52:57 But why did He clothed them
52:58 with the animal skin of a lamb?
53:01 So, the only way they could continue on living
53:06 is if they have
53:08 and the promise of righteousness
53:09 is that they have on the animal skin.
53:12 And this reminds me real quick, Jacob and Esau.
53:15 So good, man. Jacob and Esau.
53:17 How did Jacob, and it was a messed up story,
53:19 but there's some gospel there.
53:21 How did Jacob receive his Father's blessing?
53:25 He put on the skin.
53:26 He had to put on the skin. Right?
53:28 He had to smell like one who had been in the field.
53:32 He had to smell like a lamb.
53:36 Interesting. Yes.
53:37 So, we do as well.
53:39 I want to just inject this one point in that story
53:41 because you said they received spiritual eyesight,
53:45 I believe they lost it at that moment.
53:48 When she took that fruit and they did eat,
53:52 they lost their spiritual eyes.
53:54 They lost the Shekinah Glory,
53:55 they lost
53:57 what Christ is trying to give us
53:58 that robe of righteousness, right then it was gone.
54:01 That's when they were naked. Sure.
54:02 They lost the shield to see evil
54:04 because before they couldn't see evil,
54:06 but now they can.
54:07 But they, but were told
54:08 they had a light of spiritual cover...
54:10 Sure, the righteousness.
54:12 Which is the garment that God is wanting.
54:14 So, they traded it for their own
54:16 and their own was nakedness.
54:18 And so, God begins to replace that
54:22 with that animal skin,
54:24 so that I just wanted to inject that
54:26 because they lost that place
54:28 where He's trying to take us back to.
54:29 Absolutely.
54:31 They didn't know sin because sin didn't exist.
54:32 Right. Yeah.
54:34 So it starts very early. Well, it did exist.
54:35 Satan.
54:36 Well, yes, I mean, in their lives.
54:38 It didn't exist in their lives...
54:39 It starts real early in life.
54:40 You find out when you tell the children,
54:42 don't get in the cookie jar.
54:43 And there are two or three years old,
54:44 they get a cookie.
54:46 What do they do? Hey, Mom, look at me.
54:47 They go hide behind the couch to eat that cookie
54:50 because they know
54:51 they're not supposed to be eating that cookie.
54:53 And so, they go back and they hide back there
54:57 and they not even aware basically, it's inside.
55:00 That's right.
55:02 I honestly think that God has given His people
55:05 the spiritual eyesalve,
55:06 even the way
55:07 you just presented those passages.
55:10 I've never looked at it like that before.
55:12 I'm hearing things that I've never heard
55:14 in all my almost so many years before
55:17 because God is opening,
55:18 He's giving His people that spiritual eyesalve to see.
55:22 May I share a passage here? No, absolutely. Yeah, go ahead.
55:24 This is from Testimonies, Volume 3.
55:28 Oh, oh, we may not have time, I've just read a little bit.
55:31 It says, "I have been shown that the greatest reason
55:33 why the people of God are now found
55:35 in this spiritual blindness
55:37 is that they will not receive correction,
55:40 they will not receive correction.
55:41 Many have despised the reproves and reward
55:44 and warnings given to them.
55:45 The true witness condemns the lukewarm condition."
55:49 And I'll stop there because it is powerful.
55:51 It goes on,
55:53 but we don't want to receive correction,
55:54 we fight,
55:55 we don't want somebody to tell us what to do.
55:58 We know what to do on our own.
56:00 We're blind, we're naked. Lord, have mercy.
56:02 That's amazing. Yeah.
56:04 Any final thoughts, brother, before end?
56:05 Well, I'm just thinking about that eyesight.
56:06 I need that spiritual eyesight,
56:08 Lord, help my eyes to see all those things I need to see,
56:10 ears to hear only what I need to hear.
56:12 And the mind that receptive of spiritual thing,
56:14 I need that.
56:16 That hymn, hope in my eye that I may see...
56:19 Oh, I love this song. And it's so true.
56:21 Let's tie this together in the closing
56:22 because I have like a minute before we close out,
56:25 and I just want to tie this all together
56:26 because there's going to be a part three.
56:27 We're going to come back for this.
56:29 But notice this.
56:30 She says, what's going to bring about the shaking
56:32 is the council given to Laodicea.
56:34 What is that council?
56:35 Jesus says, you need to have the faith of gold,
56:37 the faith of Jesus.
56:39 You need to have
56:40 the white garments of righteousness.
56:42 Not your righteousness, His righteousness.
56:45 And then, you know what?
56:47 I want to dial in your spiritual vision.
56:49 I want to upgrade that spiritual vision,
56:50 so you can have the spiritual discernment
56:52 to be able to see the world as I see,
56:54 to see your brothers and sisters as I see,
56:56 to see the horribleness of sin as I see.
56:59 I want to give you the spiritual eyesight,
57:02 faith of gold,
57:04 beautiful righteous garments of righteousness,
57:06 of Jesus' righteous
57:07 and eyesalve that you may see.
57:09 You put all that together,
57:10 you know a message that is that Jesus said
57:11 that would bring about the shaking.
57:13 Righteousness by faith.
57:14 That's right. That's it.
57:16 Yes. Righteousness by faith.
57:17 My friends, look,
57:18 there's going to be a part three,
57:20 "A Call to Anguish Part Three."
57:21 We're going to go back, we're going to revisit this.
57:23 I just want to thank you so much for joining us today.
57:25 We've had such a good time here.
57:26 Hey, we hope to see you next time.
57:28 Stick, stick with us,
57:29 come back again and study again.
57:31 God bless you all, and have a blessed day.
57:33 Amen. Thank you.
