31:18 Hallelujah to the Lord. 31:59 And she brought forth her first born son and wrapped him in 32:04 swaddling clothes and layed him in a manager because there was 32:09 no room for them in the Inn. 32:11 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding 32:15 in the field keeping watch over their flock by night. 32:19 And lo the angel of the Lord came upon them, 32:22 and the glory of the Lord shown round about them, 32:25 and they were sore afraid. 32:27 And the angel said unto them, "Fear not for behold I bring you 32:31 good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 32:36 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, 32:42 which is Christ the Lord. 32:45 And this shall be a sign unto you, you shall find the babe 32:51 wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger. 32:55 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude 32:59 of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 33:02 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace goodwill 33:09 toward men. " 33:32 As little children we would dream of Christmas morn 33:37 Of all the gifts and toys we knew we'd find 33:45 But we never realized a baby born one blessed night 33:53 Gave us the great gift of our lives. 34:01 We were the reason that He gave His life 34:08 We were the reason that He suffered and died 34:14 To a world that was lost He gave all He could give 34:20 To show us the reason to live. 34:28 As the years went by we learned more about gifts 34:44 The giving of ourselves and what that means 34:51 On a dark and cloudy day a man hung crying in the rain 35:00 All because of love because of love 35:08 We were the reason that He gave His life 35:15 We were the reason that He suffered and died 35:22 To a world that was lost He gave all He could give 35:29 To show us the reason to live. 35:35 I finally found the reason for living 35:41 It's in giving every part of my heart to Him 35:49 And all that I do, every word that I say 35:55 I'll be giving my all just for Him, just for Him. 36:06 We were the reason that He gave His life 36:13 We are the reason that He suffered and died 36:20 To a world that was lost He gave all He could give, 36:26 To show us the reason to live. 40:38 In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, 40:48 Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone; 41:01 Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow, 41:13 In the bleak midwinter, long ago. 41:29 Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain; 41:40 Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign. 41:52 In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed 42:04 The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ. 42:17 Angels and archangels may have gathered there, 42:37 Cherubim and seraphim thronged in the air; 42:48 But His mother only, in her maiden bliss, 43:00 Worshipped the beloved with a kiss. 43:16 Yet what can I give Him, poor as I am? 43:28 If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb; 43:41 If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part; 43:54 Yet what can I give Him: give Him my heart. 44:59 Be faithful, the Lord is with you. 45:11 Don't be afraid. 45:19 You shall have a son. 45:26 He shall be great; the Son of God most high. 45:38 And He shall reign. 45:41 His kingdom shall have no end. 45:49 Hail, faithful one; the Lord is with you. 46:12 I'm just a simple girl from a simple world 46:18 Oh angel, How can this be? 46:25 How can I have a child when I'm still a child? 46:33 Please tell me, how can this be? 46:40 I'm still a virgin. 46:44 What will my parents say? 46:52 And what about Joseph? 46:55 Can I really expect him to stay with me? 47:05 Oh angel, I believe what you've said to me. 47:13 The Lord is with me. 47:25 I had this crazy dream last night. 47:30 An angel spoke to me and said, It's alright. 47:40 Sweet Mary carries God's own Son. 47:45 And you shall call His name Jesus. 47:54 Don't be afraid; take Mary to be your bride. 48:05 Don't be afraid; take Mary to be your wife, your wife. 48:19 An angel spoke to me last night. 48:26 The Lord is with you. 48:39 I'm just a simple girl from a simple world. 48:44 An angel spoke to me. 48:47 How can this be? 48:52 How can I have a child when I'm still a child? 48:59 Please tell me; how can this be? 49:08 I'm still a virgin. 49:11 What will my parents say? 49:22 And what about Joseph? 49:25 Can I really expect Him to stay with me? 49:36 Oh angel don't lie to me; what you said to me. 49:44 The Lord is with me. 50:29 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them 50:34 into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, 50:38 Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing 50:42 which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 50:47 And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, 50:51 and the babe lying in a manger. 50:53 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying 50:57 which was told them concerning this child. 50:59 And all they that heard it wondered at those things 51:04 which were told them by the shepherds. 51:07 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 51:12 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God 51:16 for all the things that they had heard and seen, 51:19 as it was told unto them. 51:38 The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. 51:48 Away in a manger, no crib for a bed 51:59 The little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head. 52:08 The stars in the sky looked down where He lay 52:16 The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay. 52:29 The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes 52:37 But little Lord Jesus no crying He makes. 52:45 I love Thee Lord Jesus, look down from the sky 52:54 And stay by my cradle 'till morning is nigh. 53:06 Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay 53:16 Close by me forever, and love me I pray 53:24 Bless all the dear Children in Thy tender care 53:32 And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there, 53:40 to live with Thee there, to live with Thee there. 57:46 Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow. 57:59 For all is hushed, The world is sleeping, 58:07 Holy Star its vigil keeping. 58:14 Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow. 58:42 Sleep, sleep, sleep, 'Tis the eve of our Savior's birth. 58:55 The night is peaceful all around you, 59:03 Close your eyes, Let sleep surround you. 59:10 Sleep, sleep, sleep, 'Tis the eve of our Savior's birth. 59:45 Dream, dream, dream, Of the joyous day to come. 59:58 While guardian angels without number, 01:00:06 Watch you as you sweetly slumber, 01:00:14 Dream, dream, dream, Of the joyous day to come. 01:00:29 Of the joyous day to come. 01:01:00 We are so thankful to have each of you here 01:01:03 at Sacramental Central. 01:01:04 It's just a delight to have a program like this 01:01:07 where people all come together from the community 01:01:09 and just celebrate this time of year, 01:01:11 and what this event really means. 01:01:13 And we're just delighted that you are here. 01:01:16 We know that we have visitors here who are from neighboring 01:01:19 churches, and we know that we have people who are 01:01:22 from the neighborhood. 01:01:23 And we we've got a lot of people here that maybe don't normally 01:01:27 see each other except on occasions like this. 01:01:30 I wonder if we could bring the house lights up just 01:01:33 a little bit. 01:01:34 It may not be on the schedule. 01:01:36 Have you met the people in front of you and behind you? 01:01:40 Would you take just a moment and say hello, and tell them 01:01:45 Merry Christmas, and you're glad to see them here? 01:01:54 You know, and I apologize. 01:02:03 You know, I wanted you to have fun, but I didn't want you 01:02:06 to have that much fun! 01:02:12 Now, you know, I've been walking around this church during the 01:02:14 program a little bit, and it's cold around the edges; 01:02:18 we've actually opened some of the doors to let some more 01:02:21 air in, and it's hot in the middle. 01:02:22 And someone said it's sort'a like microwaving a turkey. 01:02:25 It's just always warm in the middle and cold on the outside. 01:02:30 You know, there's something about baby's. 01:02:33 And we're singing and talking a lot about babies. 01:02:39 Somebody once descripted babies as a small apparatus 01:02:43 with a loud noise at one end, and no responsibility 01:02:46 at the other. 01:02:48 Well, what is it about baby's that will make a grown person 01:02:52 get down on the ground and coo, and gurgle, and communicate 01:02:57 like that? 01:03:00 When a baby is newly introduced into a home it seems like it 01:03:04 changes everything. 01:03:05 Somebody said that is exhibit A of minority rule; 01:03:09 is when a little baby comes into a home so many things change. 01:03:14 The Bible tells us in Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, 01:03:22 unto us a son is given. 01:03:24 Even if you go to Revelation 12 verse 5, it says a woman 01:03:29 brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations 01:03:34 with a rod of iron. 01:03:35 A baby that rules caught up to God and His throne. 01:03:40 I heard an interesting story; it was actually written about 01:03:44 a hundred years ago, about the most notorious mining camp 01:03:49 in California following the "gold rush". 01:03:53 It was a place called Roaring Camp, and it was filled with 01:03:57 just some of the meanest men that you can imagine: 01:04:01 murders, stealing, drunkenness, violence, and all that goes 01:04:09 with that. 01:04:11 The whole town was full with men with the exception of one woman 01:04:13 by the name of Cherokee Sal, and she tried to take 01:04:17 care of everybody. 01:04:19 Well, in the process of time Cherokee Sal became pregnant, 01:04:24 but she died giving birth. 01:04:27 And suddenly all of those rough, ornery men found themselves 01:04:31 taking care of a little baby boy, and it was awkward, 01:04:36 to say the least. 01:04:37 They put the little babe in a wooden box. 01:04:39 Some of the miners had some goats. 01:04:41 They found he took pretty well to the goat milk. 01:04:44 But it didn't look right with him sitting in that box 01:04:48 surrounded with all those dirty rags. 01:04:50 Some of the men had been raised better than that! 01:04:52 So they sent one of their group down to Sacramento 01:04:56 and they said, you need to pick up a real cradle. 01:04:58 They thought about bringing in another woman to help take care 01:05:00 of the baby, but they said, that any woman that would come 01:05:02 to this camp with all these ornery men can't be trusted. 01:05:05 They said, We'd better take care of him. 01:05:09 And there was also some suspicion about which of them 01:05:12 was the father, so they felt a little obligation. 01:05:16 They sent one of the men down to Sacramento and picked up a 01:05:20 beautiful rosewood cradle. 01:05:24 They brought it up into their central building that they had 01:05:27 in Roaring Camp. 01:05:28 They set up the cradle, and they put the baby in there surrounded 01:05:30 by the rags. 01:05:32 They all looked at each other and said This still isn't right. 01:05:34 So another one of their company went down to San Francisco 01:05:37 and picked up some silk blankets and brought them back. 01:05:39 That looked much better, but now the floor looked filthy. 01:05:42 I mean they were just spitting tobacco everywhere. 01:05:45 So those rough, dirty men got down and started to sand 01:05:48 and to clean the floor. 01:05:50 And that looked much better, but then by contrast the walls 01:05:53 needed some help, so they white washed the walls, 01:05:57 and then they white washed them inside and out, 01:05:59 and then they hung up some curtains. 01:06:00 And one of them, he was one of the biggest and meanest 01:06:04 of them all, named Stubby. 01:06:06 He went to tickle the baby's check one day and it reached 01:06:09 for his finger and tried to pull his dirty finger into its mouth. 01:06:12 From that day on Stubby said, Nobody touches the baby 01:06:16 unless you wash your hands. 01:06:18 Immediately the little towns sold out all of their soap 01:06:22 in one day. 01:06:23 And they'd want to sit in the one rocking chair 01:06:26 and hold the baby, but it was up against their dirty shirts, 01:06:29 and he, Stubby, said, You've got to wash your clothes, too, 01:06:32 so you can hold the baby. 01:06:34 So they started washing their clothes. 01:06:36 And they noticed that when they drank and fought the baby had 01:06:40 problems sleeping, so they cut way back on their drinking. 01:06:43 And some of them didn't think it was right that they be cursing 01:06:46 around the baby, so they started giving up their cursing. 01:06:51 They took the baby up to the mines when they were working 01:06:54 in the mines and just sit it in its rosewood cradle 01:06:56 where all the mining dirt and tailings were. 01:06:59 And some of them said, That's no way to treat a baby, 01:07:02 so they planted some flowers. 01:07:05 And little by little the whole camp was changed 01:07:11 by the introduction of a baby. 01:07:13 There's something about baby's. 01:07:17 You put them into a family and everything's different. 01:07:21 You know, one thing you can all brag about: 01:07:24 You were all baby's once. 01:07:25 A little boy was riding to school with his mother one day 01:07:30 and he became very pensive. 01:07:31 He said, Mom were you there when I was born? 01:07:35 We've all been baby's, with the exception of Adam and Eve. 01:07:41 But when God came to the world in the form of a man, 01:07:45 He became a baby. 01:07:46 And the whole world has been changed and calibrated 01:07:51 by that gift. 01:07:52 Now I'd like to illustrate that, if I might. 01:08:02 We've been hearing a lot of beautiful music tonight; 01:08:05 up until now anyway. 01:08:08 This is a tuning fork. 01:08:13 It's very small. 01:08:15 I found out yesterday that the key of A costs $5 less than the 01:08:22 key of E, and even the music fellow couldn't figure out why. 01:08:25 So I bought the Key of A. 01:08:27 But you take this... isn't that interesting? 01:08:41 Maybe you're not... that was amazing to me. 01:08:43 Listen... now if you do that anywhere else it doesn't work. 01:08:50 But if you set it in the right place it sends music through 01:08:54 the whole building echoing. 01:08:57 And God sent His Son into the world not just anywhere, 01:09:02 and anytime. 01:09:04 He sent Him at just the right place, and the right time. 01:09:08 And the whole world now is calibrated by that birth 01:09:14 in that little town 2,015 years ago, and it's still effecting 01:09:20 the world today. 01:09:21 You know this song probably. 01:09:32 Oh little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie! 01:09:43 Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, The silent stars go by. 01:09:54 Yet in thy dark streets shineth, The everlasting Light. 01:10:04 The hopes and fears of all the years, Are met in thee tonight. 01:10:16 Do you want to sing a couple of verses with me?
