00:09 Who was Jesus?
00:12 He had compassion for the weak and the hurting.
00:15 He loved every person He met
00:17 and taught them how to love.
00:20 His great heart helped all those who came near Him
00:24 but most of all He was a friend.
00:27 That was who He was.
00:29 Now find out who He IS.
00:39 Hello and welcome back to Summer Camp Meeting.
00:42 We're so blessed that you're able to join us this evening.
00:45 It's hard to believe that we're already into Thursday evening.
00:47 What an incredible spiritual high Camp Meeting is!
00:50 We're here saying "Amen! " at 3ABN
00:52 and we can hear you at home saying the same as well.
00:56 You know, but the key is when we're spiritually filled
00:59 we can't just keep it inside, right?
01:01 We have to share it with others.
01:03 So one way of doing that is to tell others like: "Hey! "
01:05 Your family, your friends, and as Mr. Danny always says
01:08 even your enemies. Tell them: "Tune in to 3ABN
01:11 on satellite, on Dish Network, Roku,
01:13 maybe even the new 3ABN+. "
01:15 Yes. There's many ways that they can get this programming.
01:17 OR you can always watch it video on demand.
01:20 That's on 3ABN+ or on YouTube as well.
01:23 You can watch these messages, the music hours over and over
01:27 again. But what a blessing to be able to join you
01:29 here for Summer Camp Meeting.
01:30 I love Camp Meeting - that's right - and I'm excited about
01:33 tonight's presentations with the sermons AND we're starting with
01:36 music hour. That's right! We're here of course with Danny
01:38 and Yvonne Shelton and a special guest. So John Stoddart.
01:42 Welcome... we're so glad to have you.
01:43 Thank you, thank you so much. Glad to be here, Jill.
01:46 Dr. Yvonne, you've known this gentleman for a number
01:48 of years? Yes. You know, I first... Several years ago
01:52 I was at Oakwood and I heard this man at the piano
01:58 singing. And I said: "Who is that? "
02:02 Incredible talent. Oh my!
02:04 And then after I met John and got to know him
02:07 and see his beautiful spirit... What an amazing gift
02:11 and what an amazing spirit of humility that the Lord has given
02:15 you. So we are so happy that you're here.
02:17 We worked him so hard the last time he was here!
02:21 It's terrible. One time he didn't bring enough clothes.
02:26 I think he ended up wearing T- shirts & I don't know what all
02:28 'cause she was going to work him while he was here.
02:30 It's like he's just so good we've gotta keep him in music.
02:35 You know, but we appreciate your attitude
02:37 and John, you've been blessed. As you know, God has gifted you.
02:40 Very few people I've ever heard or listened to have
02:43 such an incredible talent. I mean, music... you guys know
02:47 music. You know, not just your singing but your piano, too.
02:51 It's really not fair so it shows you
02:53 this life is not fair. But when we get to heaven
02:56 we're going to be up there with you.
02:58 We're beside you now, John, something.
03:01 See, we're gonna be over there together singing together
03:04 having a good time. Thank you so much for coming.
03:06 It's always a thrill to be here at 3ABN sharing with you guys
03:11 and getting to share with you. You brought your wife this time!
03:13 I did! I did! She's my biggest cheerleading section.
03:17 So I always sing a little better when she's here.
03:21 You're going to get a little something extra.
03:25 Great. You know, we appreciate your spirit, too.
03:27 Just adding on to what Mr. Danny said.
03:29 Your attitude's phenomenal. We were talking to some of the crew
03:31 before we went live here this evening
03:32 and just saying: "Wow! The spirit. "
03:34 'Cause there's a lot of talent but to have the attitude
03:36 and spirit that you love Jesus it just comes through.
03:38 The humility. You're absolutely right.
03:40 Mr. Danny, one project that we've been talking about is
03:43 the Focus on Truth project. We talked about it opening night
03:45 here. An incredible project of three brand-new little booklets.
03:49 We have an amazing update 'cause we actually have
03:52 a way that you can participate this very evening.
03:56 Why don't you tell us a little more about that
03:57 and Mr. Danny as well. Yeah, the Focus on Truth
03:59 project... Maybe, Danny, you want to talk to them about -
04:02 the project a bit - OK - and then I'll talk about the special
04:04 pricing amd the offers we have tonight. Good.
04:07 If there's ever been a time in the world where they need
04:09 truth it's today. That's right! Would you agree with that?
04:12 And so we put together some little books -
04:14 Yvonne and me working together -
04:16 on different Bible topics. One of them is What About Hell Fire?
04:20 There's so much out there among Christians
04:23 not just people that are not believing. Christians can't
04:26 decide what the Bible really says about the subject of
04:30 hell fire. About salvation.
04:32 Seems to be a simple simple: salvation is a free gift.
04:36 But even with the Christian church
04:38 there are so many different viewpoints
04:41 and so many different
04:42 I hate to use this word but angles that people come from.
04:45 Sometimes it's manipulative in how, why you should be saved
04:49 and all of these, but we just want to find out
04:52 what the Bible says about salvation.
04:55 We're going to talk about sanctification, justification,
04:57 righteousness by faith. I mean all of these are
05:00 so important. And we literally try to go back to the beginning
05:05 of time and even in heaven when war started you know
05:08 with Michael and His angels. So we get into salvation
05:11 then we go to the Ten Commandments. Tell them.
05:15 I love this booklet because it actually
05:19 gives us like a focus on truth about the Ten Commandments.
05:24 Are they still in effect? Do we still have to keep them?
05:27 Have they been nailed to the cross?
05:28 I mean all of these things are questions
05:31 or concerns and a little bit of controversy
05:35 that you know is within the Christian church
05:37 as well as people who are not in church.
05:40 So this will let us know what does the Bible say.
05:43 I think that opinion is neither here nor there.
05:46 We want to know what "Thus saith the Lord. "
05:49 And so that's what this is.
05:51 So we're doing a number. We might do 9 or 10 books total
05:54 but we've done 3... and so happy to get these done.
05:57 So we have Focus on the Ten Commandments...
05:59 We call them Focus on Truth
06:01 But like Focus on the Ten Commandments,
06:03 on Hell Fire, on Salvation... That's the first three
06:07 that we've got done. But it's something we've never
06:09 done before. I'm thankful that we have sponsorship.
06:12 People who've said... They've seen the project
06:15 and said: "We'll put up some money for that
06:17 so people don't have to buy. "
06:20 But we're going to make it easy for you to get them.
06:22 And maybe Jill you can tell us how to do it.
06:24 It's not an unlimited number but there's quite a few that...
06:28 That's right. Absolutely. I'm so excited about this
06:31 evangelistic opportunity that you have at home
06:34 to partner with the ministry of 3ABN in spreading the gospel
06:38 in sharing the Focus on Hell, the state of the dead,
06:42 Focus on the Ten Commandments and Focus on Salvation.
06:45 So right now as Mr. Danny already alluded to
06:48 people have sponsored the printing of a certain number
06:52 of the beginning of this process of the booklets.
06:54 So right now all you have to do
06:56 you can call us right now.
06:58 The Call Center is open.
06:59 That number is:
07:04 and there's two ways that you can partner with us
07:07 in evangelistically spreading
07:08 this booket. The first way
07:10 is to sponsor a zipcode mailing
07:12 in your community.
07:15 Now the zipcode mailing is
07:17 for all three of the booklets
07:18 so you're not sponsoring just
07:20 the booklet on the state of the dead
07:21 or just the booklet on the Ten Commandments
07:24 or just the booklet on salvation.
07:26 You would be sponsoring
07:27 all three booklets. They will be
07:29 put together in a full-color
07:32 envelope mailed to peoples' homes
07:34 and you can do that for 50 cents.
07:37 Oh my! For only 50 cents
07:39 per home you can send 3 of these
07:43 booklets to your neighborhood
07:44 or your community. And the shipping?
07:46 That's the shipping. Absolutely!
07:48 Fifty cents. Think about that, John. Less than the price of one
07:51 stamp. Wow! You get three books - fifty-page books -
07:55 packaged together
07:57 in envelopes - um-hmm -
07:58 mailed to the zipcode of your choice - that's right -
08:01 thanks to some of our donors
08:04 for less than the price of one stamp.
08:06 Is that right? That's right...
08:08 absolutely! Fifty cents for that.
08:10 Or if you want there's another
08:12 option if you want to distribute
08:14 the books yourself, you can
08:15 order them by the case.
08:17 And the cost is only $16.50.
08:21 That covers the shipping cost
08:23 per case of the booklets.
08:25 So you might say: "I would like
08:26 one case of the Salvation booklets. "
08:29 How many are in a case? 250 booklets.
08:31 250 for $16.50? Mailed to your house.
08:36 So then you can take the books
08:38 and you can pass them out
08:39 and you can distribute them in your community.
08:42 So right now the Call Center
08:43 is open. You can call and say:
08:45 "Yes! I want to be part of this
08:46 project! I want to sponsor
08:48 a zipcode mailing" or maybe
08:50 you want some of those cases.
08:51 So call us at:
08:55 or you can always order online at
08:59 and that's a great way, too.
09:00 You know, Mr. Danny, I was really excited about
09:02 this project because you think about it...
09:03 It's amazing. The three booklets.
09:05 The booklets are printed in four colors,
09:06 have beautiful illus- trations on the inside.
09:09 So you have these 3 different topics that you mentioned.
09:11 They're put inside of a full-color envelope.
09:14 It's incredible, right?
09:16 You've got three 4-color booklets in a beautiful envelope
09:18 that's shipped to a zipcode
09:20 for 50 cents! That's the three booklets,
09:22 the envelope and the postage
09:24 to a zipcode in your area
09:25 or of your choice. I mean that
09:27 is amazing because it costs me
09:28 55 cents to mail one little letter.
09:31 Right! Right! And it's amazing because the
09:34 sponsors have stepped forward, Mr. Danny. And that's what makes
09:36 this possible. I mean, it's phenomenal because
09:38 we know you love evangelism.
09:39 3ABN Camp Meeting we were talking just a few minutes ago
09:42 about sharing and spreading to others.
09:44 Well, this is one way that you can do that.
09:46 I praise the Lord for the opportunity to do this.
09:49 We've tried to take each subject
09:52 and write it not from our
09:54 perspective... from the Biblical
09:56 perspective but keeping in mind
09:58 what a lot of denominations...
10:00 And I've talked to other pastors.
10:01 Some of the books in the past
10:03 what I'd do is I sent like one
10:05 to eight different pastors not of our faith
10:07 and said: "What do you think about this? "
10:09 And they'd write back and say:
10:10 "Well, I don't agree with this"
10:11 or "I don't agree with that. "
10:13 So then we would way: "OK, thank you. "
10:14 We'd switch it and tailor it.
10:16 So we've tried to answer basically
10:18 every question you can on these subjects
10:20 in that short of a time.
10:22 Butwe prraise the Lord and we want to thank our
10:24 our viewers and our donors who made it possible
10:27 for the first I think close... We're gonna say at least a
10:30 million... that we're able to do this.
10:32 That's right! They say: "Well that's a lot! "
10:35 But this COVID book: there was over 6 million
10:37 of those that went out. Incredible!
10:38 So this one I would say that...
10:40 that as long as they're available
10:42 for 50 cents we'd love to do it
10:45 and zipcode of your choice.
10:46 Amen. Oh yeah, this is exciting.
10:48 We've got another music hour in store this evening
10:50 but we've also got some messages afterwards.
10:52 Tell us who we'll be listening to after the music hour.
10:54 Directly after the music hour we're going to hear from
10:56 Pastor David Shin. His message will be on
10:58 Jesus as our Servant Leader.
11:01 Then we're going to hear from Pastor Wintley Phipps.
11:03 Both of them are anointed men of God.
11:06 Pastor Phipps' message is specifically on
11:08 Jesus, the Suffering Servant.
11:11 Jesus our Redeemer.
11:13 I'm looking forward to what God's gonna do
11:15 in and through them. But first we have
11:17 we can say Pastor John Stoddart. Doctor.
11:21 He's going to minister to us through music.
11:24 So thank you. Thank you so much.
11:26 I'm so grateful we have a High Priest
11:29 who knows exactly how we feel, what we're going through.
11:33 Touched with the feeling of our inifirmities.
11:40 I can feel your pain in My side.
11:43 I can see the tears you can't cry.
11:50 Oh, oh, oh, oh...
11:53 I know sometimes you feel alone
11:56 I keep praying to the sky of stone.
12:03 Oh, oh...
12:05 But you never know how much you mean to Me...
12:12 how forever my love can be.
12:19 Have you ever been lonely?
12:22 Then I know how you feel
12:25 when the nearest help's a million miles away.
12:32 When you're lookin' for sunshine
12:36 in the middle of the day,
12:39 then I know how you feel...
12:44 But it's gonna be OK.
12:50 Oh thank you, Jesus.
12:53 I know all about your heartaches...
12:57 all the love you try to fake
13:02 without breakin' just breakin' down.
13:07 I've had one or two of those days
13:11 when no matter what you do or say
13:14 nothin's gonna stop the pain, Lord.
13:19 But you never know how much
13:23 you mean to Me
13:26 till you see Me at Calvary.
13:31 Have you ever been lonely?
13:34 Whoo! Then I know how you feel
13:40 when the nearest hug's a million miles...
13:44 million miles away.
13:47 When you're lookin' for sunshine
13:50 in the middle of the day
13:53 then I know how you feel.
13:58 But it's gonna be OK.
14:02 I'll never leave you... no, no...
14:09 I know the sun is gonna shine again
14:15 and I can tell you how the story's gonna end:
14:20 you're gonna make it.
14:27 Have you ever been lonely?
14:31 Jesus knows how it feels
14:34 when the nearest help's a million miles, so far away.
14:40 When you're lookin' for sunshine
14:44 in the middle of the day
14:47 then I know... I know how it feels!
14:53 Have you ever been lonely?
14:57 Then I know how you feel
15:00 oh when the nearest help's a million miles, a million
15:06 milies a way.
15:08 When you're lookin' for sunshine
15:11 in the middle of the day
15:14 oh then I know,
15:16 I know, I know how you feel
15:21 but it's gonna be, it's gonna be
15:25 it's gonna be OK.
15:28 It's gonna be, it's gonna be OK.
15:38 Are you grateful?
15:40 Be grateful for that promise today that not only does Jesus
15:43 understand what we're going through,
15:46 not only does He see and hear
15:49 and feels from a distance
15:52 but He empathizes... He's with us
15:54 right there in the middle of whatever it is
15:57 we're going through. He highs, the lows...
15:59 the fear, the disappointments, the struggles.
16:02 He's right there with us; He knows how we feel.
16:05 I tell you: I'm grateful that we have
16:08 this gift of grace... this gift that says
16:12 "You know what? I know John doesn't deserve it.
16:15 I know that John is messed up.
16:17 I know that John has a long way to go before
16:20 he looks like Me but I'm workin' on him.
16:23 Every day as he submits to Me. "
16:26 He's re-making us in His image.
16:28 And this gift of grace that He's given us
16:32 is something that allows us to wake up every morning
16:36 to try again. Not with the fear that
16:41 you know, "Man, if I mess up God's gonna strike me down. "
16:44 He's not waiting to punish me or to point out every
16:49 mistake that I make.
16:50 But His grace is there to allow me the strength
16:54 and courage to keep striving,
16:57 to keep pushing, to keep submitting and surrendering
17:01 myself to this awesome process of sanctification
17:04 where God is taking me right from where I am
17:07 and allowing me, re-shaping me
17:10 so that one day I'm going to look exactly like Him.
17:13 It's because of His grace that I'm able to do this.
17:17 Listen to the words of this next song.
17:34 Time measured out my days
17:41 Life carried me along
17:49 In my soul I yearned
17:53 to follow God
17:57 but knew I'd never be so strong.
18:03 I looked hard at this world
18:08 to learn how heaven
18:12 could be gained
18:17 just to end where I began:
18:23 where human effort
18:26 was all in vain.
18:32 Were it not for grace
18:41 I can tell you where
18:46 I'd be:
18:48 wand'ring down
18:50 some pointless road to nowhere
18:56 with my salvation up to me.
19:03 I know how that would go,
19:10 the battles I would face:
19:19 forever running
19:23 but losing the race
19:27 were it not for grace.
19:46 So here is all my praise
19:53 expressed with all my heart
20:00 offered to the Friend
20:05 who took my place
20:09 and ran a course I could not start
20:15 And when He saw in full
20:20 just how much
20:23 His love would cost
20:29 He still went the final mile
20:34 between me and heaven
20:38 so I would not be lost!
20:45 Were it not for grace
20:52 I can tell you where
20:58 I'd be:
21:00 wand'ring down some pointless road
21:06 to nowhere
21:08 with my salvation up to me
21:14 I know how that
21:17 would go
21:22 the battles I would face
21:31 Forever running
21:37 but losing the race
21:41 were it not for grace...
21:49 forever running
21:53 but losing the race
21:58 were it not
22:01 for grace.
22:18 Hallelujah!
22:21 I'm so grateful. You know, that is a gift
22:26 that we don't think enough about.
22:30 And I know I have to just remind myself.
22:32 That song always puts me back in the place
22:35 where I just realize...
22:40 You know, when you look in the mirror...
22:41 As a song... a song writer
22:43 you look in the mirror and you realize
22:47 when you're honest with yourself
22:49 that: "Man, if it were not for grace..."
22:54 And how dare we be impatient with other people?
22:58 When we think about the amount of grace that we require
23:02 it should prompt us to be lavish with the grace
23:06 that we dispense to others.
23:08 And I mentioned I was a song writer...
23:10 and that's a fancy word for storyteller.
23:15 So I want to share a song with you now
23:19 that I didn't write. It was written by a guy named
23:22 Chris Rice. But it's just a song that
23:25 for me it paints such a vivid picture.
23:29 And I'm not even going to tell you any more about it
23:32 other than that, but just listen to the words of this next song.
23:36 And close your eyes, and I'm going to try to paint a picture
23:39 and see if you can see this picture that I'm painting.
23:42 This is a song called My Tree.
24:01 On a hill far away
24:05 stood a tall mighty tree
24:09 where a boy and girl used to take turns
24:12 pushin' a tire swing.
24:15 I remember the pocketknife in hand
24:19 and her name in my heart
24:23 thinkin' there ain't no way for a boy to explain
24:27 the love that he feels inside.
24:33 So I carved her name into my tree
24:38 then I carved a heart around her name
24:45 Then I carved an arrow through the heart
24:52 just to say "I love you. "
25:01 On a hill far away
25:05 stood an old rugged cross
25:10 the emblem of suffering and shame.
25:17 I remember the nails through My hands
25:23 and your name in My heart.
25:26 How in their wordless way
25:29 the nails explain the love that I feel inside.
25:35 As they carved your name into My tree
25:41 where I wrapped My heart around your name
25:48 then I took your arrow through My heart
25:55 just to say "I love you...
26:01 I really love you.
26:04 Now while I can never forget
26:08 how much you mean to Me
26:12 since I will always remember
26:17 whenever I see
26:21 where they carved your name into My tree
26:28 where I wrapped My heart around your name
26:36 then I took your arrow
26:41 through My heart
26:50 just to say I love you. "
27:00 "How much I love you, child. "
28:13 You know that last song? Sing a little bit of it.
28:17 Yes, Jesus
28:20 loves me;
28:25 Yes, Jesus
28:29 loves me;
28:34 Yes, Jesus loves me
28:40 for the Bible
28:44 tells me
28:49 so.
28:54 What a precious gift!
28:56 What an indescribable gift! There are no words
29:00 when we begin to think about
29:05 what God did just to be able to be close to us...
29:10 to let us know how much God loves us.
29:14 I was speaking with a friend of mine. She's a theologian
29:18 and she's done a lot of research
29:20 and study on the topic of worship.
29:23 And she observed and remarked how the Psalms -
29:27 you know those are songs that were written
29:29 thousands of years ago -
29:31 and here we are these thousands of years later
29:34 we have record of the music - of the lyrics -
29:38 but not of the music.
29:40 And her theory is that
29:42 you know, the messages of the saints and the messages
29:48 of the Psalms are messages that are timeless.
29:52 And these messages are given to each generation
29:57 to put their own music to.
29:59 And, you know, as an arranger I love to hear that.
30:02 I love taking a song that maybe is an old song
30:06 and coming up with my own way of interpreting it
30:10 or way of making it my own.
30:11 And I'd like to do that with this next song I want to share.
30:14 It's an old hymn and it's one of my favorites.
30:19 Many of you will be familiar with this song.
30:21 And I hope as you reminisce on the words
30:24 and hear some new melodies and some new harmonies
30:27 that the message will continue to resonate with you
30:31 and perhaps the new music will allow you in a way
30:34 to grasp hold of this message once again.
30:37 To re-affirm, re-commit.
30:40 The name of this song is called Come Thou Fount.
30:59 Come, thou fount of
31:03 every blessing...
31:08 tune my heart to sing Your grace.
31:15 Streams of mercy
31:20 never ceasing
31:25 call for songs of loudest praise.
31:30 Teach me ever to
31:35 adore Thee.
31:40 May I still Thy goodness prove
31:49 while the hope of
31:53 endless glory
31:57 fills my heart with joy and love.
32:17 Here I raise my
32:21 Ebenezer;
32:25 hither by Your help I've come.
32:33 And I hope by...
32:37 by Thy good pleasure
32:42 safely to arrive home.
32:48 Jesus sought me
32:51 when a stranger
32:58 wand'ring from the fold of God.
33:07 He to rescue
33:10 me from danger
33:15 interposed His precious blood!
33:20 Oh!
33:33 Oh! Oh to grace how
33:39 great a debtor
33:44 daily I'm constrained to be.
33:51 Oh let Thy goodness...
33:55 goodness like a fetter
33:59 bind me closer, Lord, to Thee!
34:06 Prone to wander, Lord,
34:10 I feel it...
34:13 prone to leave
34:17 the God I love. Oh,
34:24 here's my heart, Lord,
34:27 please take and seal it...
34:32 seal it for Your courts above!
34:40 Prone to wander, Lord,
34:43 I feel it...
34:46 prone to leave the God
34:51 I love. Oh,
34:57 here is my heart, Lord,
35:01 please take and seal it...
35:06 seal it for Your courts above...
35:13 seal it for
35:15 Your courts above...
35:23 seal it for Your courts
35:28 above.
35:56 Amen! Thank you, Lord, so much.
35:59 I want to do another old song while we're in this space,
36:02 but I don't want to do it by myself.
36:04 I have some friends here: Reggie and Ladye Love Smith.
36:07 I know they are friends of yours.
36:08 But I just have been dying to sing with them
36:12 and when I heard that they were in the building
36:14 I said: "We've gotta do something. "
36:16 I don't even know what exactly we're going to do.
36:19 Let's pick a song and just...
36:21 You know, that's how you do it in church.
36:24 Let's do an Andre song... Andre Crouch.
36:25 An Andre Crouch song? Maybe The Blood.
36:27 OK. Let's do that... let's see what happens.
36:40 You'll do the first verse?
36:56 The blood that Jesus
37:02 shed for me
37:10 way back
37:13 on Calvary,
37:19 the blood that gives me strength
37:25 from day to day...
37:31 it will never lose
37:37 its power.
37:43 And it reaches to the
37:47 highest mountain.
37:55 And it flows
37:58 to the lowest
38:02 valley.
38:07 The blood
38:10 that gives me strength
38:14 from day to day...
38:20 it will never lose
38:25 its power.
38:33 It soothes my doubts
38:38 and it calms all of my fears
38:45 and it drives
38:50 away all my tears.
38:57 The blood that gives me strength -
39:02 yes it does - from day
39:05 to day
39:09 it will never lose
39:15 its power.
39:19 Oh, it reaches
39:24 to the highest
39:28 mountain... mountain.
39:34 And it flows to the lowest
39:40 valley.
39:45 Oh, the blood
39:48 that gives me strength
39:52 from day
39:55 to day
39:58 it will never lose...
40:04 it will never lose...
40:10 it will never
40:14 lose - sing it -
40:19 its
40:23 power.
40:30 Its power. Yes, ooo-ooo.
40:35 Brother thank you. That was so fun!
40:40 That's good stuff, but now you all need to go on now
40:44 and let somebody else do somethin'.
40:48 John Stoddart, what a wonderful man of God you are!
40:51 What a gifted man! Thank you for all of that.
40:55 What a gift! Love music, don't you Mel?
40:58 So let's sing some, all right?
41:12 A hungry little boy
41:16 gave his lunch away...
41:20 too young to know the difference
41:23 he could make.
41:27 He was just one among the many
41:33 in a crowded human sea
41:37 but his love for Jesus
41:42 met 5,000 needs.
41:49 Just a simple love for Jesus
41:54 is all the Father asks.
41:57 He can work His mighty wonders
42:02 in the smallest of our tasks.
42:08 Miracles will happen
42:12 when there's a child-like trust
42:17 and a simple love for Jesus
42:22 seen in us.
42:33 Daddy dropped his daughter off
42:36 at church that day.
42:40 He thought that he had better things to do.
42:47 But through the years she taught her father
42:52 with deeds and not just words
42:56 until her quiet witness
43:00 led him to the Lord.
43:07 Just a simple love for Jesus
43:11 is all the Father asks.
43:15 He can work His mighty wonders
43:19 in the smallest of our tasks.
43:26 Miracles will happen
43:29 if there's a child-like trust
43:33 and a simple love for Jesus
43:38 seen in us.
43:43 Just a simple love for Jesus
43:46 is all the Father asks.
43:49 He can work His mighty wonders
43:54 in the smallest of our tasks.
44:00 Miracles will happen
44:03 if there's a child-like trust
44:07 and a simple love for Jesus
44:12 seen in us...
44:18 a simple love for Jesus
44:23 seen in us.
44:40 Thank you, Melody. You know, Tim, I was thinking
44:42 about what we've been talking about here today.
44:45 And we live in this world where we have so much to do...
44:48 so many things that we rely on ourselves to do.
44:52 And as I sing this song I want to remind even those of you
44:54 who are living in this fast-paced world
44:57 that it's not in trying but in trusting.
45:00 It's not in running but in resting.
45:03 It's not in wondering but it's in praying
45:07 that we find the strength of the Lord.
45:20 Sometimes life seems like words and music
45:27 that can't quite become a song.
45:34 So we cry inside,
45:37 then we try again... wond'ring
45:42 what could be wrong.
45:47 Then we turn to the Lord
45:51 at the end of ourselves
45:54 as we've done a time or two before...
46:00 We find His truth is the same
46:03 as it's always been
46:07 and never we'll need more.
46:14 It's not in trying but in trusting;
46:21 it's not in running but in resting.
46:27 Not in wond'ring but in praying
46:34 that we find the strength of the Lord.
46:41 It's not in trying but in trusting;
46:48 not in running but in resting.
46:54 Not in wond'ring but in praying
47:00 that we find the strength of the Lord.
47:10 He is all we need
47:14 for our every need...
47:17 we never need be alone.
47:23 Still He'll let us go
47:27 if we choose to
47:31 live a life on our own.
47:37 Then the only good that can ever be said
47:43 of the pains we find ourselves in
47:49 There are places to gain
47:53 and the wisdom to say
47:57 "I'll never leave Him again. "
48:04 For it's not in trying but in trusting;
48:10 not in running but in resting.
48:17 Not in wond'ring but in praying
48:23 that we find the strength of the Lord...
48:30 it is not in wond'ring but in praying
48:36 that we find
48:39 the strength of the
48:44 Lord.
48:59 What a great God that gives us grace
49:04 to learn the lessons in life.
49:08 Sometimes it takes a lifetime to learn that very lesson
49:12 that John just sang.
49:14 But we have comfort that God is waiting on us
49:18 just to live life and carry us through life.
49:23 He is a great God. He loves you
49:25 and hopefully you have been able to sense some of that love
49:30 in these songs in this hour.
49:34 I love the scripture Psalm 71:19
49:37 says: "For your righteousness, O God,
49:39 reaches to the heavens. You who have done
49:42 great things. O God, who is like You? "
49:47 Makes me think of this song.
49:58 Come let us worship our King.
50:02 Come let us bow at His feet.
50:06 He has done great things.
50:12 See what our Savior has done.
50:16 See how His love overcomes.
50:20 He has done great things.
50:24 He has done great things!
50:30 O hero of heaven, You conquered the grave.
50:34 You free every captive and You break every chain.
50:39 O God, You have done great things.
50:43 We dance in Your freedom awake and alive.
50:48 O Jesus, our Savior, Your name be lifted high.
50:52 O God, You have done great things.
51:00 You've been faithful through every storm
51:05 and You'll be faithful forever more.
51:09 Oh You have done great things!
51:13 And I know You will do it again
51:18 for Your promise is "Yes" and "Amen. "
51:22 O You will do great things.
51:26 Just stick around, folks, for He's gonna do great things.
51:31 Oh hero of heaven, You conquered the grave.
51:36 You free every captive and You break every chain.
51:40 Oh God, You have done great things.
51:44 We dance in Your freedom awake and alive.
51:48 Oh Jesus, our Savior, Your name be lifted high.
51:53 Oh God, You have done great things.
51:59 It makes me think of this song:
52:01 Oh, praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
52:05 let the earth hear His voice.
52:08 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
52:12 let the people rejoice.
52:15 O come to the Father
52:18 through Jesus the Son
52:22 and give Him the glory
52:25 great things He has done.
52:29 Oh sing at home now: Oh praise the Lord,
52:32 praise the Lord,
52:34 let the earth hear His voice.
52:38 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
52:41 let the people rejoice.
52:45 O come to the Father
52:48 through Jesus, the Son,
52:52 and give Him all glory
52:55 great things He has done!
53:01 Oh He is the hero of heaven,
53:04 He has conquored the grave.
53:06 He has freed every captive and He has broken every chain.
53:11 Oh God, You have done great things.
53:15 And we dance in Your freedom
53:18 awake and alive.
53:21 Oh Jesus, our Savior, Your name be lifted high.
53:25 Oh God, You have done great things...
53:31 Oh God, You will always do great things.
53:40 Great things You have done.
53:51 Amen! Wow Tim... I think you're convinced. I am!
53:54 You're not just singin' a song you're singin' an experience.
53:56 Truly. And this is what this Camp Meeting is about.
53:58 You know, the question is: "Who is Jesus? "
54:00 That's the question that has been asked
54:02 and each of our speakers hopefully
54:04 are answering that question: "Who is Jesus? "
54:06 Great things He has done! Marvelous works He's done.
54:10 And I, to be honest with you, when we get to heaven,
54:12 friends, we're not going to get to heaven and say:
54:14 "Well, we're here... " Um-hmm, that's right.
54:17 We're going to be so excited to have made the kingdom.
54:20 We're going to praise the Lord... give Him glory.
54:22 Shout His name, and I don't think we're going to shuffle
54:25 our feet. We're going to be praising God
54:28 to the highest. That's right.
54:29 For the first time we're going to join the angels
54:32 to find out what they have been doing throughout this
54:35 ceaseless ages of eternity.
54:37 The Bible says they don't cease day and night to
54:39 call, say: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. "
54:45 You know, I think about how great God is.
54:48 And when you talk about the things He wants to do for us
54:50 God wants to do the same - yes - for every one of you.
54:55 The story that was going through my mind a couple of days
54:57 ago that I wanted to share with you briefly
54:59 is how we hold onto things in this life
55:03 thinking to ourselves that we finally have been able
55:08 to accomplish what we've been dreaming about.
55:11 But I was sitting in my car with my wife.
55:14 We were driving back from Marion once
55:16 and the text that came to our minds that brought tears
55:19 to our eyes for the first time was when we remembered
55:22 God says: "I know the plans I have for you. "
55:25 And my wife and I looked at it simultaneously
55:28 and the tears began to come
55:30 because he says God has plans for us?
55:32 God dreams about us? Amazing, right?
55:34 God thinks about us!
55:36 And so when we ask the question: "Who is Jesus? "
55:39 He is the God who thinks about you.
55:41 He is looking forward to not just thinking about you
55:46 but guiding your life to the place
55:48 where you can find freedom; where you can find hope.
55:52 Where you can know that you can let go of the things you have
55:56 and hold onto the eternal things that Christ is willing
56:00 to give to you. Like the little boy who was
56:02 standing in front of his father and he had a little tiny
56:06 teddy bear in his hand
56:08 and his dad had a big fuzzy one behind his back.
56:10 And he says: "Give me your teddy bear. "
56:12 And he said: "Unh-uh. "
56:13 He said: "Give me your teddy bear"
56:15 and the little boy said: "No! "
56:16 If he had only known what we behind his dad's back.
56:19 That's sometimes who we are. We hold onto the things
56:23 that seem to be valuable to us
56:26 not knowing who Jesus is.
56:28 And He has behind His back blessings that are abundant.
56:33 We want to encourage you as we continue with this Camp Meeting
56:35 to answer the question: "Who is Jesus? "
56:39 We're not just giving you the answers but the answers
56:42 are going to come to you through your own personal time
56:45 you spend with Christ.
56:47 Let me encourage you to take time.
56:49 When Camp Meeting comes and goes, people say how...
56:51 how high a mountain-top experience that was.
56:54 But you can have the same experience
56:57 if you take time in the Word with the Lord every day.
56:59 Amen. Take time in prayer. Talk to the Lord as to a friend.
57:03 And then repeat back to Him the promises
57:07 of His Word and then you'll find out
57:09 that who Jesus is will no longer be a question to you
57:14 but the answer will be clear.
57:15 He will be your Lord and your Savior, the One
57:19 who wants to bless you. The One who has blessings
57:21 untold behind His back.
57:24 Don't go away. Camp Meeting is continuing
57:27 and we pray that you'll stay with us. God bless you.
57:31 His body was broken
57:34 so that we could live
57:36 giving us the gift of eternal life.
57:40 He pursues us relentlessly with an everlasting love.
57:45 Regardless of our failures and mistakes
57:49 the One who loves us like no other.
57:53 THIS is who Jesus IS.
