00:02 The apostle Paul states in Romans 13:10
00:06 "Love does no wrong to others,
00:08 therefore love is the fulfilling of the Lord."
00:13 And Jesus says in Mathew 5:17
00:16 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law,
00:20 or the prophets.
00:21 I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill."
00:25 Now we go to Webster's dictionary which says
00:28 Fulfill means, to bring to completion,
00:33 to attain or to achieve.
00:36 So Jesus or love brings the law to completion.
00:43 Wow, that's powerful.
00:45 So that means that the law is all about love.
00:52 Hello and welcome to "From Sickness to Health."
00:55 I'm your host Rico Hill
00:57 and today we have a very comprehensive program
01:02 covering the laws of health.
01:05 By comprehensive you mean covering many areas.
01:11 Well, yeah.
01:12 By laws of health you mean laws of bondage.
01:16 No, no, no, no, see these laws are laws of love.
01:20 Let me give couple of examples
01:21 like sunlight or water or exercise,
01:25 temperance, trusting in God
01:28 and as I stated earlier in the text
01:30 these laws are all fulfilled by love.
01:34 Okay then here we go,
01:37 trusting, walking, drinking, sunlight,
01:39 trusting, walking, drinking, sunlight--
01:42 Oh, please explain to me what you're doing?
01:45 Oh, I am attempting to keep all the health laws
01:47 you're gonna discus today all at the same time.
01:50 At the same time.
01:52 For two reasons, number one, to show you and you
01:55 that they are impossible to keep
01:57 and number two, to discourage anyone from even trying.
02:02 Trusting, walking, drinking-- Please wait a second.
02:04 And what is all this supposed to do?
02:07 Oh, this here?
02:09 Well, this is to show people
02:10 that it's all about do's and don'ts.
02:12 You can't do this. You can't do that.
02:14 You can't eat this. Why don't hold this for me?
02:16 Because I want to make it clear to you
02:18 that these are laws of bondage
02:20 and I'm not in bondage.
02:22 Trusting, walking, drinking... sunlight.
02:27 All right, look you are not forced to keep the laws.
02:32 You see, the laws are to actually give you freedom
02:36 not put you in bondage.
02:38 So you think this is about bondage, right.
02:40 That's exactly what this about. Take this back.
02:42 When we have more trust in God
02:45 that keeps us from stressing out.
02:47 That's a benefit to you.
02:48 Being temperate in eating-- what you eat,
02:51 and when you eat and how much you eat.
02:53 Well, that keeps those unwanted pounds off of you.
02:56 And I don't have to remind you
02:57 or tell you about breathing air, fresh air.
03:01 Fresh air another one,
03:03 another chain of oppression, thank you.
03:07 Trusting, walking, eating, sunlight...
03:13 It's hard to breath with a cookie
03:15 in my intemperate mouth.
03:16 I can't keep these laws.
03:18 It is great neither can you? I hope you get my point.
03:22 Today we are gonna talk about the laws of health.
03:24 We're gonna talk about the joy that we receive
03:27 in just keeping them.
03:29 And the freedom they bring from disease and sickness.
03:35 Hey, I heard that. Roll it.
04:16 Well, hello and welcome to the studio,
04:19 studio of "From Sickness to Health."
04:20 I'm your host and I'm with a couple of my friends
04:24 here in the studio.
04:25 And we are happy that you have joined us.
04:27 We are gonna have a great conversation today
04:30 because I'm excited about the topic.
04:32 We are talking about the laws of health
04:36 or as I like to put it the laws of love.
04:40 So joining me here is Mwamiko Madden
04:43 who is a health evangelist out of Canada
04:46 and he is no stranger to this program.
04:48 So we welcome you.
04:49 And also we here with Dr. Yvonne Lewis
04:52 who a naturopathic doctor
04:54 but also she is a general manager
04:56 of Dare to Dream Network,
04:58 the very Network that you're seeing this program on.
05:01 Welcome to the program.
05:03 It's great to be here, thank you.
05:05 I'm so happy that you are all here.
05:06 We are gonna talk about the laws of health.
05:07 How they are the laws of love that they free us
05:11 and they should just bring joy to our souls
05:14 and health to our bodies.
05:16 But before we get into it we're gonna take a look
05:18 at what Sickness has cooked up.
05:20 I don't know what it is. So don't be shocked.
05:23 All right, let's take a look.
05:27 Thank you, Rico.
05:28 Today I'm going to do something a little bit different.
05:30 I'm going to interview
05:32 someone you may be familiar with, the blue guy.
05:35 I'm going to interview myself. Blue guy, come on out.
05:41 Glad you could make today. I like your blue suit.
05:44 Oh, I like your suit, sure.
05:46 Okay, so about these laws of health,
05:48 what are these laws of health?
05:50 Well, from what I can tell
05:52 they are bunch of rules and restrictions
05:54 that take all the fun out of life.
05:56 My thoughts exactly, they put you in bondage, right.
06:00 Oh, you read my mind.
06:02 Oh, we think alike.
06:04 You're good. Oh, we're so in sync.
06:07 Okay just one last question,
06:09 if someone were to perhaps keep these laws of health
06:15 can they get sick?
06:16 Well, that's the thing.
06:19 If people follow the laws of health,
06:21 very rarely do they get sick
06:24 but hey that's our little secret okay.
06:26 Oh, you are good.
06:28 Oh, no, you're good.
06:29 You're even better. I like your style.
06:32 I like your style. Back to you, Rico.
06:37 So you heard that? Yes.
06:39 I don't know what to say.
06:40 You know, when you think about law and love.
06:45 Sometimes people think it's an oxymoron
06:47 to say law equals love.
06:50 But really what government--
06:52 do you know of they has no law.
06:55 Very good point. Where is the order?
06:57 where is the order in a situation
06:59 where there is no law.
07:01 And also the word tells us that the laws of God,
07:04 is Holy and perfect.
07:06 And good. And good.
07:09 So we are talking about God's character here,
07:12 as manifested in this law.
07:14 Why shouldn't there be laws of health?
07:18 That's right. That's right.
07:19 Now you said it's an oxymoron
07:22 so we are talking about something
07:23 that is mutually exclusive.
07:25 It's something that they don't go together, right.
07:28 Oh, what nearly people think that they wouldn't.
07:31 Right.
07:32 But we are finding here according to God's Word
07:35 they actually blend very perfectly together
07:38 because if God did not have laws well,
07:42 it would be similar
07:44 to what our society would be without law.
07:46 It would be total, what's the word?
07:48 Anarchy. Anarchy.
07:50 There you go.
07:51 See, I don't even have, that's the case,
07:53 I didn't even have to give you the word.
07:54 Yeah, that's right. It's right there.
07:56 Right there. That's right.
07:57 So we are talking about something that works together
08:00 and God's love is really the thing that drives the law.
08:05 It's like a child,
08:07 you wouldn't let your child go out
08:09 and play in the street.
08:10 So God says here are the boundaries,
08:13 stay inside these boundaries and you'll be safe.
08:17 But even beyond that I would add
08:19 that in 1 John 4:8 it tells us that,
08:21 God is love, right.
08:23 God is not just loving He is love.
08:25 Which means everything that God does is for who?
08:28 It's for us.
08:30 It's an outward expression of His.
08:31 It's an outward expression of love.
08:33 So God is not doing anything for Himself.
08:34 Any time He asks us to do something
08:36 its actually entirely for our benefit.
08:40 In fact, you know what, as I was studying this,
08:43 I was thinking about talking specifically
08:45 about the laws of health.
08:46 I said now Lord,
08:47 if You have laws of health
08:51 then You are not going to mention them
08:54 later on somewhere in Your book,
08:56 You probably gonna mention them in beginning.
08:59 So let's make sure that our audiences understanding
09:01 what we are talking about.
09:03 What are these laws of health?
09:04 And we have something we call the New Life.
09:07 That's how we teach it,
09:09 we teach it from ten principles
09:11 where a lot of people say its eight laws of health
09:13 and that's fine too.
09:14 But we see ten principles that God gave right there.
09:17 Where? In the garden.
09:19 Now I want to be clear.
09:21 Why do we go to the garden?
09:23 And when I say that the Book of Genesis,
09:25 the very first book of the Bible.
09:27 Why do we go there?
09:28 Well, there was a time in the life of Jesus
09:30 where people were asking Him about the divorce
09:32 and people said well,
09:33 you know, Moses,
09:35 he gave us the bill of the divorcement
09:36 and Jesus says
09:38 "Well, it wasn't that way" when?
09:41 In the beginning. In the beginning.
09:43 So when He wanted establish the principle
09:45 that He meant He took them back to the beginning.
09:47 So in the beginning we see that God establishes sunlight,
09:51 He starts in the beginning He establishes trust,
09:55 a trust relationship.
09:57 In fact, the very first words what you all think about this.
10:00 The very first words in the Bible are
10:02 "In the beginning God." God.
10:07 So everything He does after that it says
10:09 "It was good."
10:12 And that word "good" is actually towb,
10:14 T-O-W-B.
10:17 It's pronounced towb.
10:18 Which means for your benefit.
10:22 So what do you all think about this?
10:24 Yeah, when I think about--
10:29 so often we had this misconception
10:33 of who God is.
10:35 We don't really understand the fact
10:37 that He's so relational.
10:39 He's not--
10:41 even let us make man in our image.
10:44 It was the plurality of that noun.
10:47 It's not just one, it's God as one
10:51 but manifested in three persons.
10:54 So He is relational
10:56 and then He created man for relationship.
11:00 So He's not gonna just create us and say okay,
11:03 you're on your own.
11:04 Now do the best you can, you know.
11:06 Go play in the street.
11:07 You're right, play in the street.
11:09 You're right. Yeah.
11:10 As any parent who loves his child
11:13 is gonna set up some parameters
11:15 to make sure that they stay healthy.
11:17 What parent would not do that? That's right.
11:19 But I was talking about
11:21 establishing the laws of health.
11:22 So we talked about trusting in God,
11:24 sunshine, we are talking about water,
11:27 we talked about in one the programs
11:29 we need water.
11:30 God gives us water
11:31 and He says you have to drink water.
11:33 He talks about rest.
11:34 In fact, you know, what's amazing?
11:35 It's amazing that when He starts
11:37 this whole thing out
11:38 He says that evening and the morning
11:40 were the first day.
11:41 So evening was first and not the day.
11:44 So that connotes that,
11:46 you know, what it's time to get some rest.
11:48 When the sun goes down and we know,
11:50 we have all types of scientific evidence
11:51 that there are benefits to going in a bed
11:54 when it gets dark, right.
11:55 So there is the rest, there is, there is exercise.
11:59 He gave man exercise in the Garden, right.
12:02 What else, am I-- fresh air?
12:04 Fresh air He breathed into man, the nostrils.
12:07 Yeah, then the man came alive.
12:08 And man came alive but not only that,
12:11 now here's a question, its crazy question.
12:13 But did God build a palatial mansion
12:17 just gigantic building for Adam to live in?
12:21 No, no, no, no, no.
12:22 They are living the garden, in the open air.
12:24 But He could have built him--
12:26 because I mean it stays
12:27 in heave He is gonna build us mansion
12:29 but in the beginning what was it?
12:30 We're just in the garden outdoors.
12:32 Outdoors.
12:33 So that connotes that fresh air was important too.
12:36 And by the way,
12:38 was Adam did just lived about 70 years?
12:39 No.
12:41 Adam supposed live forever.
12:42 So everything that was in garden
12:43 you're saying that everything that was there
12:45 was designed to help him to live forever?
12:48 And the tree of life.
12:49 And the tree of life.
12:51 Is for the feeling of the nations.
12:53 We got so much to-- this is exciting.
12:55 Okay, okay, let's do this.
12:57 Let's go and take a look at this clip.
12:59 This is gonna blow you away.
13:00 I have even shown you guys this.
13:01 And I know when you see it you're gonna go, wow.
13:03 Oh, good.
13:05 Let's take a look at it. Okay.
13:07 Now here's a tip.
13:08 If you really want a long and healthy life
13:10 it may help to live in a Blue Zone.
13:13 That is the term given by
13:14 the National Geographic fellow Dan Buettner.
13:16 There are certain parts of the world
13:18 where people are most likely to live
13:20 to a 100 years old or more.
13:22 His bestselling book is titled "The Blue Zones"
13:24 Lessons for Living Longer
13:26 From the People Who've Lived the Longest.
13:28 And he's here to tell us about it.
13:29 Dan, good morning. Thanks for being here.
13:30 Good morning.
13:32 First of all what is a Blue Zone exactly?
13:33 It's a demographically confirmed
13:35 geographically defined area
13:37 where people are living the longest.
13:38 And we found five of them.
13:39 We found one in Okinawa in Japan,
13:41 the longest living woman on the planet.
13:42 Longest of men living up on the High Lands
13:43 of the Sardinia,
13:45 Nicoya of Costa Rica, Ikaria Greece,
13:48 and then the longest of the Americans
13:50 right off the San Bernardino freeway
13:52 near Los Angles.
13:53 The Seventh-day Adventist
13:55 and they are living about ten years longer
13:57 than their North American counterparts.
13:59 What I found interesting in your research
14:00 is that this is not rely on the individual.
14:03 You're really saying the way to become a Blue Zone
14:05 is to address the system as a whole.
14:07 What you mean by that?
14:09 Yeah, so at a certain point
14:10 you see these pride centenarians
14:11 who can stand on their head
14:13 or dance with their spouse at a 106.
14:15 But you realize at 50,
14:16 they never said to themselves,
14:18 well, call doctor I'm gonna get
14:19 on that longevity diet live hundred.
14:21 They never really tried longevity happened to them.
14:24 So what my team tried do was
14:26 to look at the environmental components
14:27 that nudge them all day,
14:29 they are eating a little bit better,
14:31 moving it a little bit more
14:32 and the big point socializing more
14:35 and having the strong sense of purposes.
14:36 It turns out that that conveys more longevity
14:39 than any pill you can take.
14:41 Look at what the world is saying.
14:44 They're saying exactly what the Bible says,
14:46 aren't they?
14:47 That you have a people who are living
14:49 to 100 years or more,
14:51 it mentioned the name Centenarians
14:53 that means 100 years.
14:56 Hundred years or more and they are healthy
14:59 and they are just living life.
15:01 But it says it's not because of just a diet
15:04 and we have found when you really look into this
15:07 what other things are they experiencing this
15:11 causing them to live so long?
15:13 It can't just be nutrition, it has to be a lifestyle.
15:17 A lifestyle. It has to be the lifestyle.
15:19 Now what do you mean by lifestyle?
15:21 Let's break that down.
15:22 It's the way you eat, it's the way you rest,
15:26 it's the way you, stress reduction.
15:31 It's all of these.
15:33 I want you to continue but you said stress reduction,
15:36 because everything you are saying notice
15:37 is going back to the laws of health
15:39 that we studied in Genesis.
15:41 So you say is how you rest,
15:43 its the nutrition
15:46 He gave us a diet,
15:47 okay but you said not having stress
15:50 or stress reduction.
15:52 What is that connected to?
15:54 And that's cast all you cares upon Him
15:57 because He cares for you.
15:58 Or trust. Trust.
16:00 Trust in what? Trust.
16:02 Trust in what? Trust in who?
16:04 Trust in God. Trust in God.
16:05 Now someone is probably saying, well, you know, you know,
16:07 I kind of tried the God thing and so you're saying
16:10 if I don't trust God I'm not gonna be healthy.
16:13 Well, you know...
16:16 Well, you know what, you know, people ask me
16:18 because we say trust more and stress less.
16:21 Trust more and stress less.
16:23 And people say well, what do want me to trust?
16:25 Well, they are not ready to hear that
16:27 you know, God is the one, they have to trust in.
16:29 Well, I just say but don't trust in yourself.
16:31 If you have diabetes, if you have,
16:34 you know, heart disease and all these things
16:36 who you been trusting in?
16:38 You have been trusting in yourself
16:40 and that's what got you in the mess.
16:41 So if want to get out the mess
16:43 why don't you trust what God set up and may be--
16:46 now even if you don't want to attach Him to it
16:48 but if you just get fresh air, you get exercise,
16:51 eat the right food, drink water, right.
16:53 You do those things get some sunshine.
16:56 All of these things show that you will be healthier.
17:00 That's right. Right.
17:01 And these are changes that don't require a lot.
17:06 You know, it's to get more sunshine,
17:09 to get a littler bit more rest--
17:10 I'm a bit provocative.
17:11 You know. Okay, okay.
17:13 But they are expensive. Well--
17:14 Are they expensive? Is water, is water expensive?
17:17 They're free. Is water expensive?
17:20 And I'll throw another thing,
17:21 people always tend to say their like,
17:23 well, I'm gonna die any way, you know, what I mean?
17:25 Yeah. I'm just kidding.
17:26 Everybody is gonna die but then Ecclesiasts--
17:27 How many times have I heard that?
17:29 I know, I know where you're going with this.
17:30 But I want to set that up a little more
17:32 because people do say that when you tell them,
17:34 well, you know what you know what I--
17:37 you're gonna die from something.
17:38 You heard that? Yeah, I heard that.
17:40 You know, am I gonna live long
17:41 or it's just gonna feel like it?
17:43 Right. Right.
17:44 Exactly. Okay but the Bible says what?
17:45 In Ecclesiastes 7:17 it says
17:47 " Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish,
17:49 why shouldest thou die before thy time?"
17:52 And the idea of losing the potential
17:54 of how long you can live
17:55 is what people should think about.
17:57 You can live long and strong instead of dying short
18:01 and just not having an enjoyable life.
18:04 Right. Right. Right.
18:05 And that's important to consider because,
18:07 you know on other programs
18:08 we have talked about how people say,
18:09 well, you know what,
18:11 my grandmother she lived the way she wanted to live,
18:14 she ate what she wanted to eat and,
18:16 you know, she even drank alcohol
18:18 and smoked and she lived,
18:19 she was 90-years-old.
18:21 But we find that she was sick
18:22 for the last 20 years of her life.
18:24 Exactly. In a wheelchair.
18:25 So it has to be there to death on the wheelchair.
18:28 But at the same time,
18:29 not these people that they talked about in Loma Linda.
18:32 They are standing on their heads.
18:34 Yes. Swimming, skiing.
18:38 You know, and then when it's time
18:39 there are almost like Moses.
18:41 They just, they just--
18:42 when it's time they just die.
18:43 It's time, yeah, yeah.
18:45 It's not like oh, you know, I'm dying,
18:46 five years later I'm still dying.
18:49 It's not just they want. Nobody wants that.
18:51 Not just quantity but quality as well.
18:52 And that's the key
18:54 I think when we go quality of life
18:56 not just hanging in there,
18:59 you know, until you are 100 and being miserable or having,
19:02 you know, all these different issues
19:04 but being healthy, being a young one hundred.
19:07 I think that and God knew when He set forth
19:10 these principles in Genesis.
19:12 He knew this is the manual.
19:15 We came with a manual. Right.
19:17 Wow. Right with a operations manual.
19:20 This is how we are to live. The Bible is the manual.
19:23 And you know what that made me to think about?
19:24 Made me think about a car.
19:27 Because when we buy a car we get a manual
19:31 and we call that the owner's manual.
19:34 This Book is God's owner's manual
19:38 for our lives, for human body.
19:40 And if you get a car--
19:41 let's be reasonable here, right.
19:43 You get a car and it tells you
19:47 the owner's manual says you put this type of--
19:49 Fuel.
19:51 Fuel in it, this type of oil,
19:52 you get the oil changed this often or whatever.
19:55 If you don't do it you don't get
19:56 the manufacturers guarantee, do you?
19:58 No. That's right. You can decide.
20:00 Look, I have decided I'm not gonna use
20:03 high octane gasoline.
20:05 It's a little cheaper, they just put
20:06 a little Coca Cola in there.
20:08 Okay oh, sorry.
20:11 But you decided you want to put something else in the tank
20:14 you are not gonna get the guarantee, right.
20:17 So God has given us an owner's manual
20:19 if we follow it then we will find health.
20:22 Is that right? Yes.
20:23 The way-- one way that I look at it
20:25 to is its almost like a crown of royalty.
20:27 When you take it on you're saying I'm a son
20:30 or daughter of the King.
20:31 Because a prince and a king
20:32 they don't live like everybody else.
20:34 They have, they have reason that they carry themselves
20:37 in a way that they have better posture.
20:38 They walk in a certain way,
20:40 they eat a certain diet
20:41 and they're reflecting that fact
20:43 they are not living for themselves
20:44 they are living because they are royalty.
20:47 And I think that something that we should look at it as,
20:49 it's a benefit to us.
20:50 It's not something that should take away from us.
20:51 I'm gonna go somewhere with the idea of bondage
20:54 because Sickness says it's bondage.
20:55 But you are about to say something.
20:57 Okay, we come back to you again.
20:59 I got into what he was saying it's like--
21:00 Okay, we'll come back to it.
21:01 Now I want to read a text of scripture
21:04 before we take a look
21:05 at what's happening on the streets.
21:07 Do people know about laws of health?
21:09 You know, in fact why don't we take a look at that
21:12 and we'll come back and I'll read this text.
21:13 As I want to pray for us before we read it, right.
21:14 Oh, great, good. Let's take a look.
21:18 Hey, Rico.
21:20 So I looked all over Hollywood
21:21 for the smartest looking person and I settled for her.
21:25 The tallest woman in Hollywood.
21:27 Now ma'am, let me ask you
21:28 what are the laws of health?
21:30 There are laws?
21:33 I should stop right there.
21:35 I mean Rico, really people don't even know
21:36 what these laws are.
21:38 Have you ever heard of the laws of health?
21:39 Yes, I have.
21:41 Would you tell me some of these laws of health?
21:43 Eating right, and staying fit.
21:45 Oh my, that's enough I don't want to hear anymore.
21:49 Why would you say that eating is a law of health?
21:51 If I break it am I gonna get in trouble?
21:54 No, I figured that say for instance
21:55 if you are eating healthy instead of--
21:57 it's actually more for your body.
21:58 Oh, so you are one of those health nuts?
22:00 Not entirely but I do like my figure.
22:02 Oh, he likes his figure. Oh, good grief.
22:04 Get out of here, cody,
22:06 I need somebody real out here. Not leaf eaters.
22:09 Anybody not a leaf eater? How are you today?
22:11 How are you? I'm wonderful.
22:13 Now tell me what are the laws of health?
22:15 I don't know.
22:17 No, there are not that important, are they?
22:18 No, not to me.
22:19 No, not to me either. I like this lady already.
22:21 Not to me.
22:23 Rico my friend,
22:24 he doesn't know what the laws of health are.
22:25 People don't really care let's be honest.
22:28 Back to you.
22:30 Okay, first of all people have never
22:31 even heard of laws of health.
22:33 Right.
22:35 They've heard about the law of, you know,
22:37 red light and, you know, the law that's of the land
22:41 but they haven't heard that there are actual laws
22:43 that govern our bodies, our physiology.
22:47 And because of it many people
22:49 find themselves in bondage.
22:52 Right? Absolutely.
22:53 See if you knew that your lungs were only designed
22:58 to breathe in fresh air, right.
23:03 To just bring in oxygen as even when God breathe
23:07 into man's nostrils the breath of life.
23:11 By the way the best healing breathe
23:13 that you can take is through the nostrils
23:15 just like it is in the Bible, owner's manual, right.
23:19 But then someone decides I want to smoke cigarettes
23:22 and put nicotine and tar in my lungs.
23:26 They're in bondage. They're in bondage.
23:28 They're in bondage because now they can't stop.
23:31 That's right. Right.
23:32 Okay, I'm sorry go ahead.
23:34 No, no go ahead finish your thought.
23:35 I'm gonna read a text of scripture
23:37 and I want us to pray for us
23:38 because we want to have the understanding
23:40 but we also want our audience to have an understanding.
23:42 I don't believe that you get the understanding
23:43 without the Spirit of God.
23:45 Father in heaven,
23:46 thank you so much for Your word.
23:47 Please speak to our minds,
23:49 make it clear for us and for everyone
23:50 who is listening in Jesus' name.
23:52 The Bible says in Exodus 20:1 this is God speaking.
23:57 He's just brought the children of Israel
23:58 out of Egypt and He says
24:00 "And God spake all these words,
24:02 saying, I am the Lord thy God,
24:05 which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt,
24:09 out of the house of bondage."
24:13 So Egypt was not only a place of captivity,
24:17 but it also you'll find out later on in Deuteronomy
24:19 it was the place of sickness
24:21 because the people there were sick.
24:24 Egyptians did not live very long lives.
24:27 They were not healthy.
24:28 Even today they can take the mummies
24:31 and through from paralegal pathologists
24:34 who study the ancients and study the pathology disease
24:36 and so forth they see
24:38 that they had hardening of the arteries,
24:40 they had cancer, they had all these things.
24:42 So God was taking His people, that was the bondage,
24:46 the sickness that was there and He brings them into health.
24:49 Wait a minute, this show is called "Sickness to Health."
24:51 Come on. Come on now.
24:54 We want to take you from bondage into health.
24:58 That's right. That's right.
25:01 So many people are in bondage to so many different things
25:05 and God came to set us free from that.
25:08 To set us free from addiction.
25:11 Whether its food addiction or narcotics,
25:15 or nicotine or whatever.
25:17 God in His mercy has given us these laws
25:22 and that will set us free from the bondage.
25:26 So the text that you read was perfect.
25:29 He was the one who led the Egyptians out of bondage
25:33 and He is the one that will lead us
25:35 out of the bondage of sin.
25:38 And these health laws
25:40 can help to set us free from that bondage.
25:43 Let's talk about that for few seconds here.
25:45 How will the health laws that are given there,
25:49 how will they help us to be free
25:51 not only from the sickness but also form sin.
25:54 Because let's be honest most people don't think
25:57 that there is any type of connection.
26:00 I think one of the biggest things
26:01 that helps us with is slave mentality.
26:04 We tend to think oh, my grandfather had this,
26:06 my father had this, so I have to have this.
26:09 I'm bound, bound to have the same disease.
26:13 But the whole idea of the fact
26:14 that God designed is He's letting us know
26:16 He's a rational God.
26:17 And things have-- that we do have a consequence.
26:20 So we can learn about the laws of health
26:22 so that we have a control over our destiny.
26:25 It's not something we are bound to have.
26:27 We can change the direction of where our genes
26:29 are even telling us to go.
26:30 We have control and therefore we are free.
26:32 Oh, that's good. That's a rich stuff.
26:34 That's good. That's good.
26:35 So what you are saying then is when someone has,
26:38 you know, say for instance
26:40 diabetes has been in the family, yeah.
26:44 It's been in the genes. Right?
26:46 So a person says well, I'm bound by that.
26:50 I have no options.
26:51 In fact, let's be honest.
26:52 I heard it in our community people say
26:54 well, my mom had it and,
26:56 you know, and grandma had it so,
26:59 you know, in your family history is important.
27:01 It is good to look at that
27:02 but if you're doing the same thing,
27:05 if you are walking in the same bondage as them
27:09 then you are gonna be bound.
27:10 Yes.
27:12 You know one of things
27:13 we say about this particular topic we say,
27:18 you know, we should stop in the name of the love.
27:20 You know, it's a common expression
27:23 and I think they're supreme to the song.
27:24 Yeah. There you are.
27:26 It was based on stop in the name of the law
27:29 which was a very common expression with--
27:32 you know, some member of the law
27:34 who was telling someone to stop
27:36 because they have done something.
27:37 Right. Right.
27:38 But we are thinking in this program
27:40 we should stop in the name of the love.
27:41 Stop what?
27:42 Stop the dietary practices that are causing us sickness.
27:46 Stop the lifestyles as you brought out
27:49 that are causing to be in bondage.
27:52 Why because we have loved ones, we love them and they love us.
27:57 If we are sick how can we have a full relationship?
28:01 But take it as another step further.
28:03 How about our love to God? We should love our God.
28:06 We should love Him because He loves us.
28:09 You know, we could keep going. Oh, for sure.
28:11 Because I want to show there needs
28:12 to be a part two to this.
28:13 I want to thank you both for being here to talk about.
28:16 What it's over? It's over.
28:17 What? Wow!
28:19 Thank you so much for being here.
28:20 God bless you and we will see you
28:21 the next time on "From Sickness to Health."
28:23 God bless you.
28:29 In the 1 John 5:3 the Bible says
28:32 "And this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments
28:36 and his commandments or his law are not grievous."
28:41 You know, if the commandments are the law of God
28:45 then we ought to keep them,
28:47 not to try to impress God
28:49 or anybody else for that matter.
28:51 Now to be fair,
28:52 some have put the laws of God on people
28:56 and cause them to feel burdened with the law.
29:00 Now, I've been guilty a time or two
29:02 but when I began to understand Who God is
29:06 and that His law has been given to us
29:08 for the same reason
29:10 that that the law of not running a red light
29:12 has been given.
29:13 It's for our protection.
29:15 We keep them because God loves us.
29:18 So when you're under His law
29:21 you're under His protection of love.
29:25 And that's freedom.
29:27 If I'm supposed to feel free why do I feel so restricted?
29:31 I'll tell you why.
29:33 Because they are impossible to keep,
29:34 that's why people can't keep the laws.
29:37 I'm stressed out, I need to smoke.
29:40 Wait, wait. No one smokes on this program.
29:43 Did you know that they have to by law
29:46 put on that pack of cigarettes
29:49 a warning that smoking causes cancer.
29:52 There you go again, more restrictions.
29:54 Don't you realize those are chains of bondage, Rico?
29:57 Okay, all right. Let me try something.
30:00 May I have one of your cigarettes and the lighter?
30:02 Oh, now we are talking.
30:05 I have the freedom to choose
30:08 to smoke this cigarette or not, do you?
30:19 Friends, God is love and His laws are given
30:23 not to bind us or to restrict you
30:27 but to protect you and to sustain you.
30:31 Now that is freedom.
30:33 I'm Rico Hill and as always I leave you with this,
30:36 3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things
30:39 that thou mayest prosper and be in health."
30:43 Be healthy.
30:44 I'm Sickness.
30:47 Maranatha.
30:48 Are you saying I'm in bondage?
30:50 Are you saying that I'm the one who is in bondage here?
