00:31 Doug Batchelor: Hi friends, welcome back.
00:33 In our last episode, we learned how God gave the ancient King
00:37 Nebuchadnezzar a fascinating dream of a giant statue that was
00:41 full of prophetic symbols and imagery.
00:44 Today, we'll continue this eye opening study of how God
00:48 revealed the meaning of the dream through His
00:50 prophet Daniel.
00:51 You'll discover how this stunning prophecy was fulfilled
00:55 in world history.

01:11 Okay, it's time to get into today's presentation.
01:15 Doug: This vision is dealing with the empires that occupied
01:18 God's people that were the guardians of the Word.
01:21 You realize that the Jewish nation, God gave the oracles of
01:25 truth to them.
01:26 The Bible is mostly written by Jews, you know that?
01:30 You okay with that?
01:33 And if you, by the way, if you're a Christian, the Bible
01:35 says you are Abraham's seed.
01:37 So, this is talking about the preservation of God's Word that
01:41 would go to the world, the kingdoms that occupied them.
01:44 And you're gonna see all this if you paid any attention at all
01:47 when you were in elementary school to world history.
01:50 We know about Babylon, how it was a world empire.
01:55 Amazing fact, historians say the walls of Babylon were over 200
01:59 feet high and 50 feet wide, allowing for four chariots to
02:05 ride abreast on the top of the walls.
02:09 And as I said, one historian said they were 15 miles on
02:13 each side.
02:14 They had inner and outer walls, and they thought it would never
02:19 be conquered.
02:20 Once again, the map that talks about the extent of their domain
02:24 was massive, controlling the trade between three continents.
02:27 All that money was pouring in.
02:30 How many of you have been to Dubai?
02:32 Have you been to Dubai?
02:34 I've been there several times.
02:35 If you've never been there, it is the richest city in the
02:38 world, maybe Singapore, Dubai, but Dubai is different.
02:41 Just this city was built out of the desert.
02:43 They've got a river of money that flows into that city
02:47 from oil.
02:49 And I have been in hotel rooms that had--I didn't stay there,
02:52 someone showed it to me, that had golden toilet seats.
02:56 I am not exaggerating.
02:58 I saw it.
03:00 I mean, the wealth, the cars there, Bugattis, Lamborghinis,
03:04 Maseratis everywhere.
03:07 Car five or six years old, not allowed on the road, too old.
03:11 The money incredible.
03:13 Well, Babylon was like the Dubai back then.
03:18 Fabulous military power.
03:21 That was incredible.
03:22 You are the head of gold.
03:24 Number seven, would the kingdom of Babylon last forever?
03:29 That was the king's concern as he slept.
03:31 He said, "What will happen to my posterity?"
03:34 Nebuchadnezzar has reigned about 39 years, and he wanted his
03:38 sons, his successors to have an eternal dynasty.
03:42 But Daniel said, "No, it's not gonna happen that way."
03:46 "Babylon," he said, "was gonna fall."
03:48 Now you need to know how it happened historically.
03:52 It's given a little bit in the Bible, but not all the detail.
03:56 The Euphrates River ran under the walls of Babylon.
04:01 And the Euphrates River was much bigger then than it is now.
04:06 By the way, there's a prophecy in Revelation that said that the
04:09 Euphrates River will dry up in the sixth plague.
04:12 Have you read that?
04:14 Did you know all you have to do is listen to news reports and
04:17 they say the Euphrates River is drying up.
04:20 Now I don't think we're in the sixth plague yet.
04:21 We'll explain the plagues later, but I think it's
04:24 very interesting.
04:25 Well they had mighty ships that were navigating way up the
04:27 Euphrates River.
04:29 Now, man, you can't drab--drag a toad through the river.
04:33 It's becoming a series of stagnating pools down because
04:37 Turkey and up higher, they're damming the water and there's
04:39 been droughts and things have changed.
04:42 But what happened is after Nebuchadnezzar died, for one
04:46 year, his son Evil-Merodach was king, and he was assassinated
04:50 and it ended up--his uncle ended up becoming king.
04:53 And the uncle was off fighting other battles, and the grandson
04:58 Belshazzar was in charge of the kingdom.
05:02 And the Persians and the Medes realized that they did not have
05:06 the military might, meaning the Babylonians, that the
05:10 Persians had.
05:11 Nebuchadnezzar was gone and he was a military genius, and Cyrus
05:15 the Persian and Darius the Mead, they thought, "We can
05:17 conquer Babylon."
05:18 They surrounded the city.
05:20 They were gonna besiege the city.
05:21 The king, this young whipper snapper,
05:24 and you find this in Daniel chapter 5.
05:27 Belshazzar said, "We don't need to be afraid of them.
05:30 They will never get through our walls.
05:31 We've got our soldiers.
05:32 We've got our massive gates.
05:34 We'll starve them.
05:35 They--we've got enough food in the city.
05:37 We got the water running under the walls.
05:40 They can't sustain their army long enough."
05:42 And they had a big party in the city of Babylon, and they all
05:46 got drunk and in the peak of the revele, this blasphemous
05:51 young king, he knew that his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had
05:55 been turned to Jehovah from Daniel.
05:58 And he--really they resented that and he said, "This God of
06:01 the Jews, He has no power and we're gonna prove it.
06:04 Bring me the vessels we captured from Jerusalem, we're gonna
06:07 praise our idols."
06:09 And they took the holy vessels from the temple of God.
06:13 And all of the Babylonian lords and leaders began to drink and
06:16 to mock the gods of heaven--the God of heaven, Jehovah.
06:20 And in the middle of this blasphemous drunken revelry, all
06:25 of a sudden, over against the plaster on the wall a bloodless
06:29 giant hand appeared.
06:32 Kind of like Thing in "The Addams Family."
06:36 And it began to write the words, "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin."
06:41 You've ever heard the expression the handwriting on the wall?
06:45 And when the king looked up and everybody saw this, they dropped
06:49 their cups and their knees began--the Bible says his knees
06:52 were smiting together.
06:54 And he said, "What does it say?"
06:57 Nobody knew.
06:58 "Bring in the wise men."
06:59 They didn't know.
07:01 They didn't know any more than they knew 39 years earlier when
07:04 Nebuchadnezzar called them.
07:06 And finally the queen mother said, "You know, if you wanna
07:10 understand a vision, you need to call in a Jew.
07:13 And there is a man in your kingdom," gives me goosebumps
07:16 whenever I say that.
07:18 She said, "There is a man."
07:20 God still has some people.
07:22 "There is a man who is close to the Lord, he understands God.
07:27 He'll tell you what this will say."
07:29 Daniel is brought in.
07:30 The king said, "Tell me what the writing says and I'll give you a
07:34 golden necklace," like he cared, you know?
07:37 "And a special garment and make you third ruler in the kingdom."
07:40 The reason he said you'll be third ruler is because
07:42 Belshazzar was only second ruler.
07:46 And Daniel said, "Keep your rewards because I know what it
07:49 says and you're not going to be in any position to give anybody
07:52 anything pretty soon."
07:56 He said, "It says, 'Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.'
07:59 You are weighed in the balances and found wanting.
08:03 You are being judged, and the kingdom is being divided and
08:07 given to the Medes and the Persians."
08:09 And at that very moment, that mighty General Cyrus had
08:14 diverted the Euphrates River way upstream into a dry lake bed.
08:20 The water level where it went underneath the walls of Babylon
08:23 dropped precipitously during the night.
08:25 The soldiers of Babylon inside the city were drunk because they
08:30 thought there was no attack.
08:31 They left the inner gates unlocked because they thought,
08:33 "Well, they haven't gotten to the outer gates yet,
08:35 no problem."
08:36 Just like Trojan soldiers, a contingent of Persian army went
08:40 underneath the walls.
08:42 They came up, they opened the gates.
08:44 The Persians and the Medes swarmed into the city, and in
08:48 one night Babylon fell, that mighty city.
08:51 And it is foretold in the Bible in incredible accuracy long
08:56 before it happened.
08:57 Isaiah lived long before Daniel.
08:58 Do you have a Bible?
09:00 You can go to, let me see which one.
09:03 You go to Jeremiah actually, we'll start there.
09:08 Go to Jeremiah chapter 50.
09:09 By the way, why is this important?
09:11 If you wanna understand Revelation, Revelation 18 talks
09:14 about the fall of Babylon.
09:16 Jeremiah chapter 15 and 51 talk about the fall of Babylon.
09:19 Isaiah chapter 13 talks about the fall of Babylon.
09:22 Not only was there a Babylon in the Old Testament, there is a
09:25 Babylon today.
09:27 The Bible tells us in the last days there's a Babylon
09:30 and God's people are being called out of Babylon.
09:32 You need to know what you're supposed to come out of.
09:35 So, we need to understand the subject of Babylon.
09:38 But here you can just look in Jeremiah chapter 50.
09:43 He discusses the fall of Babylon, the utter destruction
09:46 of Babylon.
09:47 "Thus says the LORD," this is 51, "'Behold, I'll raise up
09:51 against Babylon, and against those who dwell in Leb Kamai,
09:54 a destroying wind.'"
09:56 It says that the soldiers will be afraid.
09:59 Let me see here.
10:00 "The king of Babylon has heard a report," verse 43 of chapter 50,
10:04 "and his hands grow feeble; and anguish has taken hold of him,
10:08 as pangs of a woman with childbirth."
10:11 And it goes on to say, "The gates will be left open."
10:15 And it says, "Their soldiers have become like women.
10:17 They cannot fight.
10:19 The city fell in one night."
10:21 And in Isaiah it says, "The rivers would be dried up in
10:25 ancient Babylon."
10:26 Look at Isaiah chapter 45.
10:28 Now I've switched from Jeremiah to Isaiah.
10:32 Isaiah wrote this about 700 A.D., hundreds of years before
10:36 King Cyrus was born.
10:39 "Thus says the LORD to His anointed," the dead sea scrolls
10:42 have the entire book of Isaiah.
10:45 We know this was written--it's ancient prophecy.
10:49 "Thus says the LORD to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right
10:53 hand I have held to subdue nations before him, to loose the
10:57 armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, So the
11:01 gates will not be shut: 'I will go before you and make the
11:05 crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of
11:08 bronze and cut the bars of iron.'"
11:10 Just read all of this.
11:12 It foretells what happened.
11:14 And that's why when you get to Revelation, it talks about the
11:17 Euphrates drying up, you understand the spiritual
11:21 significance of the Euphrates drying up, it preceded the fall
11:24 of Babylon in the ancient history, you understand?
11:29 So, did Babylon last forever?
11:32 No, it fell.
11:34 Another little interesting tidbit of history here is some
11:37 of you know that Saddam Hussein a few years ago, you know, he
11:41 invaded Kuwait and you had the two Gulf Wars.
11:44 One of our sons was in the Marines and he fought in one of
11:47 those wars.
11:49 And Saddam Hussein had plans to rebuild ancient Babylon because
11:54 the prophecy in Isaiah and Jeremiah said Babylon would
11:59 never be rebuilt.
12:00 And if you want it, it's Isaiah chapter 13.
12:02 It says, "Babylon will fall, it will become ruins, it will
12:05 become heaps, it will never be inhabited, it will never
12:07 be rebuilt."
12:09 Someone told that to Saddam Hussein, Nebuchadnezzar was
12:12 his hero.
12:13 Saddam Hussein said, "I am the reincarnation."
12:15 He wanted to be the leader of the Arab world.
12:17 That's why he attacked Iran.
12:20 And he started to try to rebuild Babylon.
12:24 It got stopped during the first Gulf War.
12:27 Then there was a brief pause.
12:28 He tried to renew construction.
12:29 It got stopped again.
12:31 He was trying to overthrow the Hebrew prophecy.
12:34 You cannot overthrow--heaven and earth will pass away, God's Word
12:37 will not pass away.
12:39 Ancient Babylon is still heaps today.
12:43 Isn't that interesting?
12:44 And Saddam is gone.
12:47 Says, "Another kingdom will arise after you."
12:49 Now we're going from gold to what metal?
12:51 To silver.
12:53 This is the Persian kingdom.
12:55 Started out as the Medo-Persian kingdom.
12:57 It ended up where the Persians became the dominant kingdom
13:00 under Cyrus the Great.
13:02 I've been there, friends.
13:03 You go to the British Museum.
13:05 Here is the Cyrus cylinder that was excavated near
13:08 ancient Babylon.
13:09 In the cylinder, it says that he was--he conquered Babylon and he
13:13 let the captives of the Babylonians go back to their
13:16 native lands.
13:17 God foretold in the book of Jeremiah.
13:20 It's also you find it in the end of 2 Chronicles that the
13:24 children of Israel would be captives in Babylon for 70 years
13:27 and after 70 years, they would be allowed to go back and
13:30 they did.
13:32 You know, if for no other reason, if you're going to
13:35 believe the Bible, believe it because the Jews are an
13:39 unusual people.
13:42 There is no other people in the world that has been dispossessed
13:45 from their land three times.
13:48 In the days of Jacob, they went down to Egypt, but they got it
13:51 back after the Exodus.
13:53 Then they were carried off to Babylon, but they got it back
13:57 during the time of Cyrus.
13:59 Then they were scattered by the Romans for 1900 years, and they
14:03 got it back and they remained a distinct people.
14:06 Every other nation that was conquered, intermarried,
14:09 disappeared, lost their identity.
14:12 Try and find someone that speaks Comanche today.
14:16 They used to occupy the Great Plains.
14:20 But the Jews, God said they would come back, they'd
14:22 remain distinct.
14:24 It's incredible.
14:25 Prophecy comes true.
14:26 And then yeah, silver was the principal currency in
14:31 ancient Persia.
14:32 It is a silver kingdom.
14:34 Here's the expanse of Persia.
14:36 It gets bigger, you'll notice.
14:39 The kingdoms are getting bigger, but it would not last.
14:42 He said, "You'd have silver, but the silver would transition."
14:45 Number eight, what metal would represent the kingdom that
14:48 followed Medo-Persia?
14:51 And another third kingdom of what?
14:54 Bronze.
14:55 Some of your Bibles will say brass.
14:57 Technically it's not brass because they didn't use brass
15:00 back then.
15:01 Brass also has tin in it, makes it a little shinier.
15:04 This is really bronze, which shall rule over all the earth.
15:08 Again, they're talking about it's going to be an empire
15:11 that's gonna spread everywhere.
15:13 The brass kingdom of Greece came into power with Alexander the
15:16 Great, 331 B.C.
15:18 when he conquered the Persians, and it lasted till about 168.
15:24 Alexander the Great marched his armies approximately
15:27 11,000 miles in mostly ten years.
15:32 They didn't march the whole time.
15:35 He conquered the world.
15:36 He was, you know, taught by Aristotle, very bright military
15:39 genius, very brave.
15:41 And he spread the Greek culture, they call it Hellenization.
15:44 Even at the time of Christ, Greek was the language
15:48 of learning.
15:49 And even governments of the world, the Roman governments,
15:51 were influenced by the Greeks and these great philosophers
15:55 of Greek.
15:57 One historian, Aryan said, "I am persuaded that there is no
16:02 nation, city or people then in being where his name did not
16:06 reach, for which reason, whatever origin he might boast
16:09 or claim to himself, there seems to have been some divine hand
16:14 presiding over his birth and his actions.
16:18 But even this kingdom would not last."
16:21 Now the kingdom of Greece, guess what they used his armor?
16:25 Bronze.
16:26 They were known as the brazen soldiers because they use bronze
16:29 swords and bronze shields and bronze helmets.
16:32 There's an example of one that was recovered that you see there
16:35 on your screen.
16:36 And here is a map of the extent of Alexander's kingdom.
16:39 He marched his armies all the way
16:42 to the borders of India,
16:44 where they were fighting elephants.
16:46 And extended up to Egypt and Damascus and Greece.
16:52 I want you to notice something that's happening here with these
16:54 different kingdoms, and they all occupied Jerusalem.
17:00 The Greeks were a little better at first, Alexander was.
17:04 Some of the later Greek leaders like Antius, Epiphanes, and
17:06 others were very brutal to the Jewish nation, but each kingdom
17:14 is lasting longer, but the metal is less valuable than the
17:20 one before.
17:23 Babylonians about 70 years.
17:26 And then you get the Persians, which lasts longer, but it's
17:28 silver, not worth as much as gold.
17:31 Then you got the bronze, which isn't worth as much as silver,
17:34 but it's harder.
17:35 Each one is harder than the one before it.
17:38 They last longer and they're harder.
17:41 And watch what happens next.
17:43 Number nine, what metal represents the fourth kingdom?
17:48 You read here, Daniel chapter 2, verse 40, "And the fourth
17:52 kingdom will be as strong as iron."
17:57 The Romans had mastered the forging of iron weapons, and
18:00 that's one reason they were able to conquer.
18:02 Now, I just want you to think about this.
18:06 Are you aware in the book of Daniel that he foretells later
18:10 in Daniel, the Greek Empire by name, calls it Grecia.
18:15 The chances of the Greeks ruling the world when Daniel said that,
18:21 no offense to anybody out there right now.
18:23 I hope I don't offend anybody, but if I were to tell you, in
18:26 100 years, the world's gonna be ruled by Uruguay.
18:31 Who here would predict that?
18:33 No, I mean anything's possible, but who would predict that?
18:37 The likelihood of the Greeks and the Romans ruling the world when
18:41 Daniel made that prophecy was ludicrous.
18:44 They just--they saw no way that would happen.
18:46 But he foretold it and he even foretold the Greeks by name
18:49 in Daniel chapter 8.
18:51 Now he says this fourth kingdom, a kingdom of iron.
18:54 The Romans had mastered an iron.
18:56 They were getting the iron from the forges and the mines in
19:01 northern or in southern Spain.
19:04 A place called Tarshish.
19:07 The iron monarchy conquered the Greeks in 168
19:12 at the Battle of Arbela.
19:14 And you think about it, with an iron sword, you can literally
19:19 cut a bronze sword in two.
19:22 So, the weapons made a big difference.
19:24 That's why the medieval knights, they had this armor mail, and in
19:28 the Bible you can read how the soldiers of Israel, they
19:34 couldn't get any iron from the Philistines, and the Philistines
19:37 were able to subdue them because the Philistines had the iron and
19:40 only David and Saul and Jonathan had actually iron swords.
19:45 And so, that was like, you know, having nuclear weapons back then
19:48 if you had the iron.
19:50 It was iron nails that pierced Jesus's hands.
19:54 And an iron spear that pierced his side and iron swords killed
19:57 the babies in Bethlehem.
19:59 And the Romans ruled with an iron fist, and they lasted
20:03 longer than the Greeks.
20:07 They had, you know, for a while there, there was what they
20:10 called the Pax Romana.
20:11 There was the Roman peace, and it was during the time of
20:14 the Roman Empire, God saw fit for the incarnation.
20:18 God came into the world during that time for a good reason.
20:22 There was a period of time during the time of Augustus
20:24 Caesar for 40 years where there was a degree of peace.
20:28 They built roads everywhere.
20:31 So, when Christ came and the knowledge of the gospel and
20:35 Pentecost was poured out and Jews from all over the Roman
20:38 Empire heard about Jesus, they scattered all around the world
20:42 and the gospel spread, and Jesus said something outrageous.
20:45 This carpenter said, "My teachings will go to all of the
20:51 world," and it did.
20:53 And the Romans influenced the government of every world, the
20:57 world today.
20:58 You know, we're still--why do we have a month called July?
21:02 Julius Caesar.
21:04 Why do we have a month called August?
21:06 Augustus Caesar.
21:08 Why is February short?
21:10 Because Augustus Caesar wanted a month that was just as long
21:13 as July, so he had to take some days off of February to put it
21:16 on August.
21:19 Why do we have a day of the week called Sunday, Monday,
21:21 Tuesday, Wednesday.
21:22 We got it from the Romans.
21:24 Sun worship, moon worship, Saturn worship, Odin worship,
21:28 Thor worship.
21:29 It all kind of came from the background of the Roman power.
21:33 What would happen after the fall of the Roman Empire?
21:37 The kingdom will be divided as the toes and the feet were
21:41 partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom will be
21:45 partly strong and partly fragile.
21:49 The Roman Empire began to crumble about 476 B.C.
21:53 It didn't happen any one particular day, but because they
21:56 were so preoccupied with entertainment.
21:59 And the family fell apart.
22:00 You know, Augustus Caesar, he believed in marriage.
22:04 He in spite of his problems, he supported the strength of
22:06 the family.
22:08 Then you got people like Nero and Diocletian and these guys
22:11 were despicable.
22:12 And the kingdom became weak and the soldiers became weak.
22:17 And the barbarians and the Aryans, they came in from the
22:20 north and the kingdom fragmented into ten parts just like the ten
22:24 toes on the image that Nebuchadnezzar dreamed about.
22:28 "Until now you've moved from the iron to the iron mixed
22:32 with clay."
22:33 But it says later in Daniel, not just clay, it says miry clay.
22:37 Now what happened?
22:39 Notice, up to this point, these kingdoms are occupied around
22:42 Israel during the time of the iron Rome.
22:46 But during the time of Christ, when the Romans ruled, the
22:49 gospel and God's people then spread.
22:52 And even the Jews were conquered and the great dysphoria, they
22:56 spread everywhere.
22:58 So, now it's not just restricted to the Middle East.
23:01 Now we've got the ten divisions of the Roman Empire that end up
23:04 spreading around the world.
23:07 I think it's very interesting.
23:09 It says, "But there shall be in it the strength of the iron for
23:13 as much as you saw the iron mixed with miry clay."
23:16 Who would like to guess what is the number one building material
23:18 in the world today by far?
23:21 It's called reinforced concrete.
23:23 Which is what?
23:25 Iron mixed with miry clay.
23:28 Number 11, would these kingdoms ever succeed in uniting?
23:33 What did the prophecy say?
23:36 Daniel 2:43, "They'll mingle themselves with the seed of men;
23:40 but they will not adhere one to another, as iron does not mix
23:43 with clay."
23:45 You know, they all tried.
23:47 They all tried to get back the power of the Caesars.
23:50 You've heard of Kaiser Wilhelm.
23:52 You know how you--what what does the word Kaiser mean?
23:56 It's German for czar.
23:58 I mean German for Caesar.
24:00 And what does the word "czar" mean?
24:02 It's Russian for Caesar.
24:04 And Hitler wanted the Third Reich.
24:06 He wanted to be the Caesar.
24:07 They wanted to reunite it.
24:10 And the English tried to do it through marriage.
24:12 Queen Victoria was called the grandmother of Europe because
24:14 her kids and grandkids were married into every family
24:17 in Europe.
24:19 Who will set up the final kingdom?
24:21 Praise God.
24:23 The Bible says there is a stone.
24:26 There is a rock of ages cut without man's hands because He
24:32 came in the image of God.
24:34 And in the days of these kings, friends, we are living in the
24:37 days of the final empire.
24:40 "The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never
24:42 be destroyed."
24:44 All the other kingdoms passed away, but there's a kingdom that
24:45 will never be destroyed, amen?
24:48 Quickly review.
24:49 Go back and I'm gonna put it on the stage.
24:51 You see it again, and you call out the answers with me.
24:53 All right, let's see if we can get our statue back up here.
24:56 So, you've got the gold.
24:58 What kingdom is the gold?
25:00 Babylon.
25:02 Followed by silver which represented Medo-Persia 539
25:06 to 331.
25:07 Followed by what kingdom?
25:09 Greece, 331 to 168.
25:12 Followed by the iron of what kingdom?
25:15 Rome.
25:17 And then you get the iron and clay which is the divided
25:19 kingdom from the ten nations of Europe that you have the Alamani
25:23 and the Franks and the Saxons, the Burgundians, the Swevi, and
25:27 I'll list them for you another night.
25:29 What does the stone do to the other world kingdoms?
25:33 "You watched while the stone was cut out
25:36 without hands, it struck the image on its feet
25:39 of iron, and clay and broke them in pieces.
25:42 And the stone that struck them,
25:44 the image became a great mountain
25:47 and filled the whole earth."
25:49 The Bible says, "Blessed are the meek," What's the answer?
25:53 They will fulfill--they will fill the earth, friends.
25:57 I wanna be one of those that will be in that kingdom.
25:59 Do you know the spiritual kingdom came when Jesus came?
26:03 Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand."
26:06 What did the king say when he heard this vision?
26:09 After hearing Daniel's clear interpretation of the dream,
26:13 Nebuchadnezzar said, "Truly your God is a God of Gods and a Lord
26:20 of kings since you could reveal this secret."
26:24 Now how many of you think that God can tell the future?
26:27 If everything else in this vision has happened right on
26:30 schedule, why would we doubt the last thing is gonna happen?
26:35 Friends, we are living on the very cusp of eternity now.
26:39 The next thing is for Jesus to come.
26:41 Doug: You know, Jesus came into our world for three reasons.
26:45 First of all, He came as our example to live a life that we
26:48 might follow his steps.
26:50 He came to show us the Father.
26:52 He said, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father."
26:55 And then He came as our sacrifice.
26:57 He died on the cross as a substitute for all our sins, but
27:01 we must come to him.
27:02 We repent of our sins.
27:04 We confess.
27:05 He'll receive us with loving arms.
