00:01 Welcome to Your Favorites By Request
00:02 with me, Tim Parton.
00:04 You've sent me your favorite songs,
00:06 and I'm ready to play while you sing along.
00:10 And if you don't remember all the words,
00:12 don't worry, they're on the screen.
00:14 And now, Your Favorites By Request.
00:17 Your Favorites By Request
00:20 La la la, la la la
00:25 Hi.
00:26 I was just reading Psalm 59:16.
00:28 Listen.
00:30 "I will sing of Your power.
00:31 Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning.
00:34 For You have been my defense
00:36 and refuge in the day of my trouble."
00:39 That was part of David's cry to God for deliverance
00:41 from the men whom Saul had sent to kill him.
00:44 I remember when I was a kid,
00:46 alone and afraid of the Boogeyman,
00:48 who I imagined lived under my bed,
00:49 how I would sing really loud, trying to scare him away.
00:54 That's kind of how I imagined David,
00:56 but much more mature physically and spiritually.
00:59 Now when was the last time you sang aloud for deliverance
01:02 from your enemies?
01:04 Many of this week's song requests,
01:06 sent from the Bahamas, Minnesota, California,
01:09 are perfect for singing when you think
01:11 your enemy might be bigger than your God.
01:13 So get ready to sing aloud.
01:15 Anthony and Mickey emailed
01:17 from Rancho Cucamonga, California.
01:20 Anthony says, "I used to play trumpet growing up as a kid
01:23 and I've sung in a few different choirs as well,
01:26 but singing is not my gift, just something I enjoy."
01:29 Several viewers informed me
01:31 that singing isn't their strength,
01:33 but the Bible encourages us to sing unto the Lord
01:35 and to do everything to the glory of God.
01:37 So it's only appropriate that Anthony requested
01:40 "To God Be The Glory."
01:42 I love this song.
01:56 To God be the glory
01:59 Great things He has done
02:02 So loved He the world
02:04 That He gave us His Son
02:08 Who yielded His life
02:11 An atonement for sin
02:14 And opened the life-gate
02:17 That all may go in
02:21 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
02:24 Let the earth hear His voice!
02:27 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
02:30 Let the people rejoice
02:33 Oh, come to the Father
02:36 Through Jesus the Son
02:39 And give Him the glory
02:43 Great things He has done
02:46 You sing it.
03:11 Oh, praise the Lord, praise the Lord
03:15 Let the earth hear His voice
03:18 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
03:21 Let the people rejoice!
03:24 O come to the Father
03:27 Through Jesus the Son
03:30 And give Him the glory
03:34 Great things He has done
03:41 Great things He has taught us
03:44 Great things He has done
03:47 And great our rejoicing
03:50 Through Jesus the Son
03:53 But purer and higher
03:57 And greater will be
04:00 Our wonder, our transport
04:03 When Jesus we see
04:06 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
04:09 Let the earth hear His voice!
04:12 Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
04:15 Let the people rejoice!
04:18 O come to the Father
04:21 Through Jesus the Son
04:25 And give Him the glory
04:28 Great things He has done
04:40 Oh, what a wonderful song by Fanny Crosby.
04:43 That's a wonderful song.
04:44 Here's a great song, "My tribute,
04:46 how can I say thanks for all that You have done for me.
04:50 To God be the glory."
04:58 How can I say thanks
05:02 For the things
05:04 You have done for me
05:07 Things so undeserved
05:12 Yet You give to prove
05:15 Your love for me?
05:17 The voices of a million angels
05:22 Could not express my gratitude
05:28 All that I am and ever hope to be
05:36 I owe it all to Thee
05:42 To God be the glory
05:49 To God be the glory
05:55 To God be the glory
06:01 For the things He has done!
06:07 With His blood He has saved me
06:14 With His power He has raised me
06:20 To God be the glory
06:26 For the things
06:28 He has done!
06:34 Just let me live my life
06:41 Let it be pleasing
06:44 Lord to Thee
06:46 And should I gain any praise
06:52 Let it go to Calvary
07:02 With His blood
07:05 He has saved me
07:09 With His power
07:11 He has raised me
07:15 To God be the glory
07:21 For the things
07:25 He has done
07:40 To God be the glory.
07:42 Praise the Lord.
07:43 It's a good thing to repeatedly remind ourselves
07:47 of the victories God has won, the great things He has done
07:50 because life has a way of throwing us a curveball ever
07:53 so often, and when it does,
07:55 songs like this next request from Dee,
07:57 remind us that His presence is very real in the valley
08:01 as well as on the mountain.
08:03 "God On The Mountain."
08:13 Life is easy
08:16 When you're up on the mountain
08:21 And you've got peace of mind
08:25 Like you've never known
08:30 But then things change
08:34 When you're down in the valley
08:39 Don't lose faith, child
08:42 For you're never alone
08:47 For the God on the mountain
08:51 Is still God in the valley
08:56 When things go wrong
09:00 He'll make them right
09:04 And the God of the good times
09:08 Is still God in the bad times
09:13 The God of the day
09:17 Is still God in the night
09:22 We talk of faith
09:26 Way up on the mountain
09:30 But talk comes so easy
09:35 When life's at its best
09:39 But it's down in the valley
09:43 Of our trials and temptations
09:47 Oh, that's where your faith
09:52 Is really put to the test
09:56 For the God on the mountain
10:00 Is still God in the valley
10:05 When things go wrong
10:09 Oh, He'll make them right
10:13 For the God of the good times
10:18 Is still God in the bad times
10:23 The God of the day
10:27 Is still God in the night
10:31 For the God of the good times
10:35 Is still God in the bad times
10:40 The God of the day
10:44 Is still God in the night
10:56 That is a sweet reminder, He is God all the time.
11:01 And now from the 1860s comes a song
11:03 of commitment to Christ.
11:05 This is, "Oh Jesus, I Have Promised,"
11:08 a hymn that I am not as familiar with
11:09 as the mothers,
11:11 so I'm going to read the music, which is a scary thought,
11:15 read the music out of the hymnal
11:17 as you sing, all right?
11:18 So I hope you do well.
12:31 All right, I'm going to give it a try.
12:35 I'm going to sing along with you on the third verse.
12:39 O Jesus, Thou hast promised
12:43 To all who follow Thee
12:47 That where Thou art in glory
12:52 There shall Thy servant be
12:56 And Jesus, I have promised
13:01 To serve Thee to the end
13:05 Oh, give me grace to follow
13:10 My Master and my Friend
