My name is Yvonne Shelton and 01:11 I'm so happy that you've chosen to join us today. We have a 01:15 wonderful program for you. You're going to be blessed, 01:18 you're going to be informed, you're going to be enlightened, 01:20 you're going to be inspired by our guests. And so we just want 01:25 you to know that the Lord is with us, He's with you. He will 01:30 never leave you nor forsake you. And so today we're going to talk 01:34 about how God has blessed this ministry and how the harvest 01:39 from this ministry has been so fruitful. Matthew 9 verses 37 01:45 and 38 says: Then He said (talking about Jesus) Then He 01:49 said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but 01:53 the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest 01:57 to send out laborers into his harvest. And today we have 02:04 laborers from the Lord's harvest We have with us Heidi Tompkins 02:10 and Ivan Raj of Heidi's Health Kitchen. And they're cofounders. 02:16 Heidi is the CFO, Ivan is the CEO. You guys work together and 02:20 together the Lord is yielding such an amazing harvest. And so 02:25 today we're going to talk about that harvest and what God is 02:30 doing. This is my Father's world. What a beautiful 05:17 song and we really appreciate Martha's ministry. So let us 05:22 talk about Heidi's Kitchen. Heidi's Health Kitchen. We have 05:27 a video actually that kind of gives some background. Let's 05:31 take a look at that and then we'll talk about it. Okay. 05:35 Eight years ago Heidi's Health Kitchen was founded in Brooklyn, 05:38 New York as a hybrid model of Christ-centered business 05:42 supporting a Christ-centered ministry. As a business, our 05:47 products include Carubies, delicious carob truffles, 05:52 Carubella a decadent carob spread, raw mock tuna, our award 05:57 winning product, V-Chick 7, a jackfruit based Indian flavored 06:04 meat, V-chick Tandoori drumsticks, a meat substitute 06:09 with higher protein and delicious Indian spices, 06:12 Figspresso, a delicious roasted fig-based coffee alternative. 06:17 These products have been loved by our customers across the 06:22 nation and each purchase in turn has supported our gospel work 06:25 locally and internationally. During COVID-19 God has 06:35 sustained and expanded, both our business and our ministry. It 06:38 has been a blessing to serve our patrons as well as each one of 06:41 our Bible students. 06:44 I have been really, really blessed by some friends that 06:48 happen to also be our entrepreneurs and they are 06:53 owners and directly involved in the everyday promotion and 07:00 creation of all of the products called Heidi's Health food 07:02 Kitchen. I just feel like everything that they have to 07:06 offer to me has always been not about money but about my health 07:09 my spiritual health as well as food. It's a great honor to not 07:12 only be friends with them but to be able to support Heidi's 07:16 Health food Kitchen's mission, which is for Christ and for 07:20 healthy living and body and they are definitely changing my life 07:22 and my children's and the people they contact. I thank them very 07:26 much for their huge contribution 07:28 I came to this Bible study because, well it was actually to 07:32 help my sister with her kids but it turned out to be very 07:36 informative. I really like the way he puts history to match 07:42 like what the Bible is saying and he explains a lot of things 07:46 that a lot of like religions like I grew up Baptist and they 07:51 couldn't explain like how three beings to be one. And I just 07:56 think it was really informative. And he has a lot of patience to 08:00 explain things. 08:09 I first met brother Ivan in a debate. I told him that Seventh- 08:19 day Adventist is a cult. I don't believe in SDA. We started a 08:24 conversation and he started explaining to me their beliefs, 08:29 the Seventh-day beliefs. I told him it was like 08:35 salvation by grace. 08:38 ♪ ♪ 10:03 I went to Heidi's Health ministry and I have become a 10:07 part of it that not only were the scriptural understandings 10:11 that I had developed and understood from my reading of 10:15 scripture and alone time with God. 10:20 They were confirmed and not only were they 10:21 confirmed, God had furthered my understanding of the work that 10:24 He wanted me to do. So I'm grateful for everything that has 10:27 happened in my life because of God and Heidi's Health Kitchen. 10:31 I've been a fitness professional for 20-plus years. As a personal 10:37 trainer diet and lifestyle are very important to me. So during 10:40 the lockdowns I went to Bible study at Heidi's Health Kitchen 10:44 I was introduced to Ellen White's writings on the diet and 10:48 health message and as a fitness professional I was amazed at the 10:56 knowledge that she had. I was like, Wow this woman was really 11:01 ahead of her time. I was very impressed and this is 11:06 information that we've been first starting to implement in 11:13 the past 20 years. I'm grateful for Heidi's Health Kitchen and 11:17 for the time that they invested in me to teach me about health 11:21 and fitness from a biblical and spiritual standpoint. I then 11:27 decided to get baptized in October of 2020. 11:32 Heidi's Health Kitchen supports a ministry in India in various 11:34 ways including providing regular mentorship to their staff. This 11:40 school has recently led over 40 souls to baptism amongst their 11:44 many other efforts. 11:46 ♪ ♪ 11:54 Wow, look at that. Look at God. Look at how He's brought your 12:00 ministry. It's a business but it's a ministry. Let's talk 12:05 about how you got started, where this all came from. Let's start 12:09 with you Heidi. 12:10 Sure. Well we were Bible workers and we really needed just a way 12:16 to support our Bible work and God provided that. 12:19 Wow, so He provided it through... 12:24 Through giving us products to support our work. 12:29 So you were teaching, you were giving Bible studies first 12:30 (correct) before you were into the whole kitchen (yeah) Because 12:34 you've been on 3ABN, both of you several times but there are some 12:37 viewers who are not familiar with your story. So kind of 12:41 catch up a little bit on you know... 12:43 Sure. So we actually only were doing some Bible work in New 12:48 York City and God put in my mind to start a health food based 12:55 business to fund our ministry. I reached out to Heidi regarding 13:02 that and then she said sure let's do it. So then she shared 13:05 the products that she had made in the past which people have 13:09 loved and enjoyed. And then we decided to take it as a business 13:12 or make it as a business. And God has blessed us through the 13:17 sales of these products to support our Bible work, locally 13:21 and internationally. 13:23 That's wonderful. And we have some products right here. (Yes) 13:25 Tell us about these. 13:27 It all started with carob, but we started making carob truffles 13:32 and I prayed and I just asked God for more flavors and I would 13:37 with the recipe like downloaded in my brain and I would just 13:41 make them, one shot, no experimenting, and we have eight 13:44 flavors today, three different assortments. They're absolutely 13:49 amazing. They're called Carubies Carob Truffles. 13:52 I love it. I love it. 13:54 And then a little bit later I wanted to have a carob spread 13:58 so I prayed about that and so God gave us Carubella, woke up 14:03 with the recipe downloaded in my brain and this is like a vegan 14:08 Nutella. Instead of chocolate and hazelnut it's carob. Yeah. 14:12 Are these free samples, I'm just saying. 14:18 We do have some samples that you can have. 14:20 Okay great. 14:21 We also have Figspresso. It's a roasted fig beverage and so it's 14:26 made from organic figs. They're sun-dried, roasted, and ground 14:30 and you brew it however you'd brew coffee or we have 14:33 instructions on the back if you don't have a coffee maker. 14:37 We also sell some products in bulk because like for example 14:42 one of our flavors of Carubies is Black Forest and we flavor 14:46 that with a sweet almond oil and there's a tart Montmorency 14:49 cherry in the center of each and just some of our bulk 14:53 ingredients we just sell at a really good price because we can 14:56 And we also make granola. We started a line of granola. We 15:00 have blueberry maple which we actually very first debuted at 15:05 the 2017 camp meeting when we cooked for the fall camp meeting 15:09 for 3ABN. I made two different varieties of granola and there 15:16 were actually three specific families that loved it and they 15:20 said can we buy whatever you have left and they did. And so 15:24 we decided, you know what, we need to sell it. We are selling 15:29 granola now as well plus the other products that the viewers 15:32 saw in the video. 15:33 Wow, that is an incredible... So how have you been able to 15:38 tie these health products into ministry? Because it's a 15:46 business, right, your model is a business model so a for-profit 15:49 model. But it's used to fund your ministry. (Yeah) Let's hear 15:54 about your ministry activities and what you're using the funds 15:58 from these products for to (indistinct) 16:01 Yeah the purchase of every product directly funds these 16:04 ministry activities. 16:09 Yes, so basically when we offer Bible studies we also make sure 16:13 that they have Bible study lesson guides, Bible study 16:19 guides. So we make purchases on behalf of the student and then 16:24 we also travel to them certain times and also we cook for them 16:28 to help them transition from eating unclean foods into plant 16:34 based as established by God. 16:36 That is so great, that is so great. We just went through you 16:43 know over the past couple of years the pandemic. And I know 16:48 you guys have really worked through that. Tell us what you 16:53 did through COVID. 16:54 Yes so thank God we didn't have a restaurant although many 17:00 people were inspiring us and encouraging us to start a 17:04 restaurant. As a matter of fact we have a picture of Heidi 17:06 winning an award at a restaurant show, at the New York restaurant 17:12 show in 2018 I believe. (There it is) And then one of the judges 17:19 there at the contest was a celebrity chef and he said, I'll 17:23 fund your restaurant if you want to start one. He is a 17:27 multimillionaire, but obviously we are told by God not to be 17:33 unequally yoked. So his plan was different and our plan was 17:38 mission-minded, Christ-focused but his was more of a world 17:43 centered. So we rejected that. It was a good temptation. I mean 17:49 it was a good temptation in the sense like it was a big 17:51 temptation. (Right) But we all came back. Thank God during 18:00 COVID our sales increased a lot. We were very, very busy. In fact 18:05 our highest profit percentage happened during the COVID 18:11 lockdowns. 18:12 Wow, my. It's so interesting to me that Satan comes in different 18:17 ways and you might have needed some extra money to do this 18:23 project but the Lord said no. (Two voices) 18:27 Yeah, I'm praying about it. You know we were praying for this 18:31 man, this celebrity chef, because you know we're not 18:35 going to be open on Sabbath, I don't care who's funding it you 18:37 know (Right, right) And so you know we really prayed about 18:41 these things, you know, and if God would soften his heart to 18:45 make him open to these things and so forth. As we had further 18:51 discussions with him it was very clear and obvious that he 18:56 was wanting to just make it like another of his other 27 or 30 19:00 restaurants and so the mission would be lost and so... 19:06 The focus on mission would be lost. (Right, correct) 19:10 Yes, and that's the thing. The devil will do different things 19:15 to distract us from the mission that God has on and so you said 19:23 no, because you felt led by the Lord and He's going to provide 19:26 for you anyway. 19:28 Absolutely. And we thank God for the opportunity to have 19:30 these discussions with this guy to witness to him, to pray about 19:34 to pray for him. Who knows. Maybe no one in his life is 19:37 praying for him. We don't know, right? (Very true) And so we 19:40 just thank God for that opportunity and the discussions 19:46 that did happen. 19:48 And I'm sure that standing for what you felt the Lord was 19:52 having you to do, people respect that (Yes) you know that you 19:57 could not be bought (right) but that you stood for what you knew 20:01 to be right. The Lord honors that and I think people respect 20:07 that. And I think that your having this ministry that looks 20:11 at the whole person. You know you're treating the physical 20:16 aspect with this health products and also the spiritual with the 20:19 Bible studies. You're tying it all together which is a great 20:23 thing. You had an experience Heidi, a prodigal daughter 20:27 experience. Tell us about that. 20:28 Yes, my sister has an amazing story and Ivan and I have been 20:32 working with her and Ivan actually interviewed her and 20:37 has really done very good in counseling her and talking to 20:42 her. So Ivan would you share more about her story? 20:45 Sure. So Heidi's sister was raised an Adventist, obviously 20:51 Heidi also, but in her teens, late teens, she attended a 20:57 seminar on prophecies and the Adventist pastor presented about 21:02 the national Sunday law. And then she noted on all the points 21:07 as to why those Bible prophecies about the national Sunday law 21:11 will not happen. And she gave it to her dad. But after a few 21:17 decades, a couple of decades, after she observed what happened 21:22 during the pandemic, she came to the realization that it is 21:27 indeed possible that Bible prophecies regarding national 21:30 Sunday law is 100 percent possible. And therefore she has 21:37 left her worldly lifestyle and she has switched into for 21:42 example stopped eating unclean foods now eats only clean foods 21:46 stopped other worldly activities and then she also has been 21:53 observing the Sabbath as well. And she has developed a personal 21:58 relationship with God. So she basically left the church and 22:02 then came back to the church. 22:04 That is so beautiful, it's so beautiful...You know that sounds 22:11 similar to years ago when I was growing up and had the prophecy 22:14 seminars I used to think how is it that you won't be able to buy 22:18 or sell? I knew it was going to come to pass because the Bible 22:21 said so but it just seemed far fetched to me. And now it's so 22:28 obvious how it's going to happen and there's so many other things 22:31 that are so much more obvious now that we just never...We knew 22:36 it was going to happen but now we can see it before our very 22:41 eyes. Prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes. 22:44 At the time when that pastor came and spoke she had 22:49 aspirations to be a lawyer and even to be a supreme court judge 22:52 And so she was thinking, we have a supreme court. There's no way 22:56 these things are ever going to happen in our country. We have 22:58 a constitution, we have protection as citizens and she 23:04 just couldn't you know couldn't envision or couldn't imagine 23:07 that those things would ever be broken down. And so when they 23:11 began to be broken down and when rights were curtailed and so 23:16 forth then she remembered that. 23:19 She was a lawyer for 25 years. 23:20 Yes and she is a lawyer and so when she started observing the 23:26 things going on in the world and you know rights being taken away 23:30 In fact, she lives in New Jersey and she's very athletic. There's 23:35 a gym owner who was fined very, very heavily for remaining open 23:42 to allow people to come and work out at the gym, even if they 23:45 were wearing masks. Like he was being fined heavily for being 23:49 open. And then after that his bank account was frozen so he 23:55 couldn't even make his defense. He couldn't afford a defense. 23:58 And so she was seeing all these things going on and thinking wow 24:03 now I understand. These things are possible and the only way, 24:11 the only way we will survive is with God. 24:14 Yes that's so true and I know this story is so emotional for 24:18 you which is why you had Ivan share it because seeing your 24:24 sister now loving Jesus what... It's so amazing. I had the same 24:30 experience with my sister so you know knowing that she's 24:34 accepted the Lord and I mean that's just amazing. Now she's 24:39 doing law, I mean she's continuing to do law but she's 24:43 still...Now she's honoring Jesus through all of that. What a 24:47 blessing. (Yeah) 24:48 She's preparing for His advent. 24:50 Yes, that's so wonderful. And you've been involved in studies, 24:54 Bible studies, in the middle east and India. 24:57 Tell us about that. 24:58 Yeah, so we've had Bible studies for instance in the middle east 25:01 and obviously, I cannot mention the name of the country 25:05 but we did have baptisms there also. We sent Bible study 25:10 materials from here to that country in their own local 25:14 languages and we did a Bible study through the Google 25:18 translator. So I translated from English to their language and 25:22 they read it and they'll again translate in their language and 25:25 send back questions to me. So that led to two baptisms. So our 25:29 local conference and leadership there they went and they 25:33 baptized those two beautiful souls in the middle east. 25:36 That is so beautiful. What studies are you using? 25:40 Did you make them up yourself or are you using like a series? 25:44 We have a common lesson. It depends on the individual. It 25:48 is Written or Amazing Facts and we also have our own set of 25:52 Bible studies as well. So it depends on the person and the... 25:55 Or the language group as well. It Is Written has a lot of 25:58 different languages. 26:00 So for this group in the middle east we sent It Is Written study 26:03 guides. 26:05 That is so beautiful. I just love what you guys are doing 26:07 incorporating the physical and the spiritual and working with 26:12 people and getting them to know who Jesus is and then feel 26:17 better because they're eating better. I mean this is what the 26:21 Lord would have us to do so that's great. Tell us about Joe. 26:25 So, Joe, Joe is the brother of one of our team members back in 26:32 Long Island, Helen. 26:34 She's our manager. 26:35 She's our catering manager and popup restaurant manager. And 26:38 Helen was praying for Joe (her brother) her brother about a 26:44 year for God to reveal to him the Sabbath truth because they 26:49 couldn't talk about it. They disagreed you know and it just 26:51 brought conflict. You got to love it. So one day Joe was 26:58 outside and God spoke to him and revealed to him that the Sabbath 27:03 is the seventh day, Saturday and not Sunday. 27:06 We have a video, don't we? Let's take a look. 27:09 ♪ ♪ 27:15 I have been praying for a year (Helen Miller and Joe C) for my 27:19 brother to come to the truth about the Sabbath. I tried 27:23 speaking to him and we didn't always agree on what day was the 27:26 day of rest so I decided to take it to God and let Him handle it. 27:30 I had a specific prayer. I wanted God to reveal the Sabbath 27:35 truth to him so that was all I asked for in prayer for him. 27:39 And I just continued every night without fail for God to reveal 27:45 the Sabbath truth. He calls me up. He wants to talk about a few 27:51 things and we're on the phone and he says to me, Helen you 27:56 know, I know what day the Sabbath is the real Sabbath. 28:00 God revealed that to me. 28:01 I was going to a different church and we had our 28:07 differences in it and after a while we decided we really 28:12 didn't speak about it that much and stuff anymore. And then this 28:16 one day I was sitting outside and God started talking to me 28:20 and He started telling me about the Sabbath day. And everything 28:24 changed and I saw it in a different way. And I started 28:28 coming to Bible studies and I started learning the truth about 28:32 the Bible and seeing it in a different way. 28:36 What a blessing, right? From this we get so much. We get that 28:43 God hears our prayers, we get that He answers our prayers and 28:48 and he wants to save us more than...He wanted to save Joe 28:52 more than his sister even wanted him saved. (Yes) And so the 28:57 Lord imparted that truth, the Sabbath truth to him. 29:00 Initially, he just thought that okay so I'm keeping the wrong 29:04 day as a holy day. So now I'm keeping the right day according 29:09 to the Bible and then he thought I think life was good, it was 29:14 good and fine. But he kept coming back to our Bible studies 29:18 and here's oh state of the dead. That's a new concept according 29:23 to the Bible for him because what he had understood about 29:26 that is completely different from what the Bible says. 29:29 And then the millennium and then about the gift of tongues and 29:33 about the sanctuary, about mark of the beast and who's the 29:40 second beast. All of this was revealed to him. And he's 29:44 preparing to be baptized. (Amen) 29:49 He also has made significant changes after the health lesson. 29:53 Learning about a biblical life style. He and his wife also 29:57 stopped eating unclean meat and they used to eat out a lot like 30:02 almost every meal but you know when you're eating out they're 30:05 cooking clean and unclean on the same grill, right? And so they 30:08 started wanting to cook more at home and you know weren't really 30:13 sure how to do that because you know they've always eaten out. 30:16 They did not know that food is so important for spiritual life. 30:23 They did not know that. So when we were presenting these things 30:27 to them, they accepted it and they desired to make a conscious 30:31 effort to discard all of the unclean meat. So Heidi's Health 30:36 Kitchen manager, Helen, and Heidi and I, we went to their 30:39 home and then we started showing them how to prepare some 30:43 healthy plant-based foods and they have replicated it multiple 30:46 times. 30:48 So we just went to their home and spent an afternoon cooking 30:50 with them and teaching them recipes. So private cooking show 30:53 Private cooking class. 30:56 That's such a blessing because so many people don't make the 31:00 connection between health and spirituality and nutrition and 31:07 spirituality. They don't get the connection. 31:09 Yeah. Also for Sabbath, we offer Zoom worship because we have 31:15 people in all different states, different time zones, different 31:19 countries even, you know, that we've studied with. And so they 31:22 join our Zoom worship and for people who are local we run a 31:28 home church in my home. And Joe had not yet been to my home but 31:34 he was open to us bringing our home church to his home. So we 31:39 prepared food you know on Friday and on Sabbath morning we ran 31:44 our Zoom church from his home and had a wonderful day 31:48 together singing, playing Bible games afterward in the 31:51 afternoon. We just want to do everything that we can to help 31:56 our Bible students like really really allow God to make 32:01 whatever changes need to be changed in their lives and for 32:04 them to be able to enjoy it and really enjoy the blessings that 32:07 God has given to us. 32:10 So the home church was started during the lockdowns, because we 32:13 had Bible students who couldn't go to church even if they were 32:18 like Sunday keepers they couldn't go to any of the 32:20 churches. So we started a home church. And then we also started 32:26 a pilot Zoom course as well like a Zoom church. And then what we 32:30 planned was with the counsels of our elders in our church that we 32:34 will have this like a first step and prepare them for baptism 32:38 and then introduce them to our local church families in the 32:43 Adventist Church. 32:44 So you took advantage of the COVID pandemic right? 32:48 The Lord gave you this idea for the home church when then you 32:58 had a goal. You were leading them from the home church into 33:01 a larger church family ultimately. (Yeah) That's great. 33:05 And so have you found harvest from this, (Oh yes, yes) like 33:10 how people receive. (Yeah, Yes) 33:12 It's very interesting. On Long Island...There was a period of 33:17 time when we were doing most of our ministry in Manhattan, that 33:19 there seemed to be no fruit on Long Island. But with the 33:23 pandemic very similar to my sister's experience people all 33:27 of a sudden have woken up and thought, wow, we really need to 33:32 you know, see what God says about this, or get back to God 33:36 or find out if what we believe is the truth because you know 33:42 they're seeing the changes in the world and in society and 33:46 just wanting to know what does God think about these things. 33:48 And so we've found an amazing harvest on Long Island. Other 33:54 placed too, but we're seeing people coming through our 33:57 Wednesday night Bible study and staying and continuing to study. 34:01 We have more people joining our Zoom church and it's really just 34:06 so refreshing and just such a blessing to see that people are 34:09 interested and they really want to know what is the truth and 34:13 make sure that is what I know really the truth? And that 34:17 type of thing. 34:18 Yes, I think people are seeing, they are sensing something 34:23 different is going on. (Yes) And many people want to know what is 34:30 truth? What is the truth (Yes that's right) about these 34:34 different topics and why are these things happening now and 34:37 is the Bible relevant? Did the Bible...you know because society 34:43 at large just like wants to put the Bible off as an irrelevant 34:48 book. (Obsolete) Obsolete is an even better word. And so we can 34:55 show, no, no, no, the Bible is relevant. It's a book for now. 35:01 And we're in the future part. (Yeah) of the Bible. Yes, yes, 35:07 in the prophetic (timeline) part of it. So this is a time 35:12 now where people are searching and I'm so thankful that you 35:17 guys are you know stepping up to the plate and doing all of these 35:22 different things on all of these different levels to bring the 35:26 truth to people. 35:28 Yeah, Our ministry has changed quite a bit because of the 35:30 pandemic. But you know we have to be flexible. We have to go 35:32 where God is going and God is moving in hearts. 35:37 For sure. You have cooking classes in New York City. Tell 35:42 We did, we did for many years prior to the pandemic for seven 35:46 years at the Crossroads Seventh- day Adventist Church in West 35:49 45th Street. We did a monthly cooking class and over 70 35:54 cooking classes, we've done there and we have people who kind of 35:59 came and went. They'd find it on an event plate, maybe they were 36:03 touring the city that weekend or whatever and they'd come for a 36:06 cooking class. But we had a lot of regulars too. And one regular 36:11 was a couple, Jason and his girlfriend Janette and for at 36:18 least three or four years. They've been to many of our 36:22 cooking classes. Janette the girlfriend has taken our hands-on 36:27 cooking classes as well. So we developed a friendship with them 36:32 And when the pandemic started we had to stop doing the cooking 36:37 classes. The church actually uses that space now as a food 36:42 pantry so all that you know has just changed. But we're friends 36:49 with them on Facebook and Instagram and one day I was 36:52 looking on Instagram and Jason had posted a picture, he was at 36:56 work, he was skateboarding on his lunch break or something 37:00 like that. Then there was a hand in the picture with a cigarette. 37:02 And so I just made a comment, I'm like, Dude, is that your 37:06 hand? I didn't know that you smoked. And he said yeah, he 37:11 said, unfortunately. And I actually just kind of maybe 37:17 half seriously just responded saying you know well listen if 37:22 you ever really, really want to quit you know I've given stop 37:25 smoking programs over the years so if you're really serious and 37:29 you ever are interested in something like that let me know. 37:32 And I really didn't think that he would take me up on it. 37:36 (But he did?) He did. He responded right away. He said 37:38 absolutely I'm on board. I've been trying to quit since I 37:42 started as a teenager. When do we start? So I had to like dig 37:46 up my materials and get a little refreshed because he wanted to 37:50 start right away. And so we started a 5-day stop smoking 37:54 program and on the third day... It's a biblical stop smoking 38:00 program of course. So on the third day he said, You know 38:04 this all sounds really good but how do I trust God if I don't 38:09 know Him? (Mmm) I said that's a very, very good question. Would 38:17 you like to get to know Him? And he said yes. So I said okay, I 38:22 said well, I said, I think you know, I'd like to suggest that 38:26 at this time we put a pause on the stop smoking program and 38:30 start doing regular Bible study together so that you can get to 38:34 know God because He has healing for you but you have to trust 38:38 Him and believe that He will give it. And you know victory 38:42 in front of all this. So we started...It's been a year now 38:46 that we've been studying together weekly and his and 38:51 Janette's lives have changed quite a bit and for the better. 38:55 And it's really a blessing. God has given us sweet fruit. 39:01 Yes, yes that's so...that's wonderful. Has he stopped 39:03 smoking? 39:04 He has greatly reduced and occasionally you know falls, but 39:11 the Bible says a righteous man gets up seven times. 39:16 That's right, that's right. Well praise the Lord that even the 39:18 process has begun and praise the Lord that he's getting to 39:21 to know Jesus. That is the most important, the most important. 39:26 (Yeah) The Lord will deliver him 39:28 They've started keeping Sabbath and it's just really beautiful. 39:30 Yes, amen, amen. And you've been doing work with yoga. (Yes) And 39:37 that is a topic that's near and dear to my heart too. I just 39:42 finished a book called Perilous Practices: A Christian's View of 39:48 Yoga. It's being printed now so don't call and say I want one. 39:57 Call, call but not yet. It's not ready yet. But I hope to have it 40:02 out soon. But that is a topic that is near and dear to my 40:07 heart. Tell us about how you've been able to share Jesus through 40:13 that internet community. 40:15 Okay. So I wanted to produce videos based on the information 40:20 that God showed me through the Bible and through the lens of 40:25 Spirit of Prophecy. I can guarantee that without the Bible 40:30 and Spirit of Prophecy it's impossible to understand yoga. 40:35 Or the depths of it. The depths of it. 40:38 It's very sneaky. I'm sure you know that. (yes, yes) So I had 40:47 a burden, I still have a burden to reach the unreached and 40:52 therefore...Before I go forward let me first show a testimony 40:58 from one of our unreached who has been reached. 41:01 Good, good. Let's take a look. 41:03 ♪ ♪ 41:11 I was born and raised into a Baptist family and was taught 41:14 that when people don't accept Jesus as their personal Savior 41:17 they will burn and be tortured in hell forever. These teachings 41:23 pushed me away from Christianity and I gravitated towards 41:26 Hinduism in which the people are nice and accepting. 41:30 Even a lot of the 41:31 Hindu tenents are humane. After 15 years of learning about 41:36 Hinduism and being a Hindu activist I came across Seventh 41:40 day Adventist teachings through my friend Ivan Raj I also rented 41:45 his videos on Origin of Yoga and learned so much information 41:51 which I was not even aware of. Although I was a practicing 41:57 Hindu my eyes are opening to the truth. If I ever leave Hinduism 42:01 and follow Christianity again I will definitely be a Seventh 42:07 day Adventist Christian because their teachings make 42:11 perfect sense and 42:13 amplify the true character of Jesus Christ. 42:19 Wow, that is a wonderful testimony. She's a work in 42:23 progress right? Tell us where she is now. 42:25 Yes, yes. She's in the states. Now I have known her for over 42:29 10 years. I've never met her but we've been friends through 42:32 social media. And she's actually a Hindu activist and she's kind 42:38 kind of popular in India. And she also sued somebody in the 42:45 U.S. for calling a Hindu god as a demon. (Hmm) So I did not 42:52 want her to know about the project that I was working on 42:54 YogaUnboxed.com in which the videos are presented to non 43:02 Christians to understand the depth, the spiritual inferences 43:06 of Yoga and the origins, et cetera to make them think and 43:10 through God's providence, she got to know about it. And I did not 43:14 want her to rent those videos because I didn't want to get 43:18 into problem with her. But she did. As soon as she got 43:22 to know about 43:24 this project she rented all the five episodes, she watched all 43:28 the five episodes. She stopped practicing yoga. Then she 43:33 started asking me questions about state of the dead. And 43:37 eternal hell fire which is being taught mainstream Christianity 43:40 (Yes) So I showed from the Bible that God is love. Got does not 43:44 burn people forever and ever and ever in hell. So I explained 43:49 this from the scripture. And then so there are other topics 43:53 she had questions on because these are things that made her 43:57 leave Christianity. She was a Baptist. And she left Baptist 44:01 Church and she became a Hindu as she mentioned in the video. She 44:04 has been a Hindu for over 15 years now. She's been doing yoga 44:08 for a long time but thank God she's now coming back to her 44:15 roots but this time she said she wants to become a Seventh-day 44:19 Adventist. So we have to still touch base on some more lessons 44:22 with her and after that, God willing, we will have another 44:26 harvest. 44:27 Amen, amen. That is beautiful. That is beautiful. What else is 44:31 going on with your...Tell us about your Yoga Unboxed project 44:35 and how people can get that. 44:38 Sure. So Yoga Unboxed project is designed...It's a set of videos 44:42 a series of videos designed for non-Seventh-day Adventist and non 44:47 Christians also. So the video series is designed from Hindu 44:53 scriptures, Hindu history and ancient archeological evidences. 44:58 And a non-Christian or unbeliever when they watch these 45:04 videos they will learn first hand about the source of yoga, 45:07 the origins of yoga from Hindu teachings but through the lens 45:13 of Bible, especially through Genesis chapter 3 verses 1-7. 45:18 So that's what she watched, my friend and she was shocked. She 45:25 got scared actually. And she put a pause, not put a pause, she 45:29 stopped yoga. 45:31 Yes. And I think a lot of Christians would stop yoga if 45:35 they understood the perils of yoga spiritually. And I think... 45:41 In fact, there is a connection, you brought another picture that 45:46 I'd like for us to see and then you explain what that is because 45:50 I think it's important for our viewers to see. 45:52 So this...I have two pictures, this one is a graphic where it 45:58 shows the warrior pose which is very popular, right? People say 46:02 I think a warrior pose, warrior one, warrior two, warrior three 46:05 but what people don't know in the west is it is actually 46:11 mimicking beheading scene in Hinduism. So in the same picture 46:17 on the left is shown the Hindu deity. The posture in Hinduism 46:24 is called Virabhadrasana where the deity beheads actually his 46:32 father-in-law in the Hindu mythology. And the beheading 46:36 scene is now translated as a stretching. So every time a 46:41 person does a warrior pose they're actually mimicking the 46:43 beheading. 46:45 Yes, and the three poses so they're actually mimicking the 46:51 process (process of the beheading) of the beheading 46:52 which is really I have that in my booklet as well and it's very 47:00 enlightening because you don't realize...You just think you're 47:02 just stretching and doing certain poses and they're 47:07 connected to things and they have a purpose and that's what 47:12 I think a lot of people don't know. 47:15 So yoga is one of the six schools of Hinduism and one of 47:20 the schools is called Samkhya. Samkhya means numbers and it is 47:26 a theory part and the practical part of Samkhya is yoga. So yoga 47:31 means to unite to link your mind with Shiva the source of yoga. 47:38 I actually have a graphic of one of the symbols of Shiva and I 47:45 would like for it to be shown so our 3ABN viewers can see. This 47:50 is actually the Shiva lingam but if you look at it, it 47:54 transitions into Vatican City because the similar structure. 48:02 Wow, so that symbol, that symbol of (Shiva) Shiva, (Shiva lingam 48:08 yeah) is the Vatican symbol. 48:12 Yeah, similar (Same layout) Same layout. The Shiva lingam symbol 48:19 has existed for thousands of years, thousands of years. 48:22 So Vatican came later on. But it's very interesting that it's 48:27 very similar, they're very similar. So people worship in 48:32 India the Shiva lingam by pouring milk and honey and 48:36 butter, ghee, that's how it is worshiped. So this is one of the 48:43 popular symbols in which Shiva is represented. 48:45 And Shiva is one of the gods, one of the 3.3 million (yeah) 48:50 but part of the...they have a trinity do they not? 48:56 Yeah, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva. But Shiva, I would say, based on the 49:02 research in Hinduism is not just one of the Hindu deities. 49:06 He's like at the top, right? 49:08 Yeah. If our 3ABN viewers are watching some of you might be 49:13 very familiar on Bible verses where God tells Lucifer that on 49:20 day he was created pipe and timbrel was given to him. (Yes) 49:25 So Shiva has a pipe and a timbrel, a drum, and a pipe to 49:30 mesmerize the serpent around his neck. (Yeah) So you can actually 49:39 google images and search for Shiva and you will see a serpent 49:41 is always coiled around his neck (yes) and he has a drum which is 49:45 the timbrel. 49:46 So does Shiva then correlate with Lucifer? Is that what 49:52 you're saying? 49:53 Absolutely, 100 percent. 49:54 Interesting. Now that I didn't know. 49:57 I have a text in the Bible that says that Lucifer desired to be 50:03 in the sides of the north. Most of the Shiva temples are built 50:09 facing south so the worshiper has to face the sides of the 50:13 north to worship Shiva, the source of yoga. (Interesting) 50:18 So when a person stretches, meditates or lives on a yogic 50:23 lifestyle so it is designed to link the human mind with Shiva's 50:29 mind. Yeah. 50:30 Hmm. Not Brahma, but Shiva. 50:33 Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva according to Hindu scriptures, they say all 50:36 they are one. So in Hinduism Brahma has only one temple. 50:40 But Shiva has the most temples. 50:45 Uh-hmm. That is very interesting. 50:46 Well the target audience for this project is non-Christians 50:52 and people who are really entrenched in yoga and these 50:55 practices. In my opinion, it's very important for every 50:59 Adventist to see this program because it's a witnessing tool. 51:02 I don't know anybody who doesn't know someone who's involved with 51:07 yoga on some level. 51:09 It's true and it's even in some of our Adventist institutions 51:12 (Absolutely) People just don't know.
