00:03 We're talking about what it means to be 00:04 balanced Christians and we have just our, 00:06 in our final couple of minutes here. 00:07 Dakota, I want you to read kind of 00:09 as a final capstone on all this. 00:11 Steps to Christ, page 59. Let's read it. 00:14 One of my favorite quotes by the way. 00:16 It says, "There are two errors against 00:18 which the children of God, 00:19 particularly those who have just come 00:21 to trust in His grace, especially need to guard. 00:24 The first, already dwelt upon, 00:27 is that of looking to their own works, 00:29 trusting to anything they can do, 00:32 to bring themselves into harmony with God. 00:34 He who is trying to become holy by his own works 00:37 in keeping the law, is attempting an impossibility. 00:41 All that man can do without Christ 00:43 is polluted with selfishness and sin. 00:46 It is the grace of God, grace of God and Christ alone, 00:50 through faith that can make us holy. 00:53 The opposite and no less dangerous error 00:56 is that belief in Christ releases men 00:58 from keeping the law of God, 01:00 that since by faith alone we become partakers 01:02 of the grace of Christ, 01:03 our works have nothing to do with our redemption. 01:06 But notice here that obedience 01:08 is not a mere outward compliance, 01:11 but the service of love." 01:13 And I think that's where it all really bases upon. 01:16 If our foundation is not the service of love again, 01:19 then as Paul said, 01:20 "Though I give my body to be burned, 01:22 it will profit me nothing." 01:24 Amen. I love that. 01:25 If we truly love God and we understand His love, 01:29 then we know that there's nothing 01:30 we can add to what He has done, 01:32 and what He will do in our life. 01:34 But at the same time if we know we truly love God 01:37 and that He loves us, 01:38 and at the same time we know we will give all and do 01:41 all not because we believe it saves us, 01:43 but because He has saved us, 01:45 and because He has saved us by His grace, 01:47 and if He has saved us by His grace, 01:49 it's because we have had faith in Him, true faith, 01:52 not our own works, not our own faith, 01:54 but the faith of Jesus Christ. 01:56 My friends, we don't want to be left, right. 01:59 We don't want to be ultra conservative 02:02 or extreme liberal. 02:03 We want to make sure we find that happy balance, 02:05 that balance that is only found in Jesus Christ. 02:09 I pray that's the case for you. 02:10 I want to thank you so much for joining us today. 02:12 Again my name is Ryan Day. 02:14 You have been watching 3ABN Today. 02:17 And we hope to see you right back here another time. 02:20 God bless you. |
