01:14 Hello, and welcome to another 3ABN Today program.
01:17 I'm so glad that you made the choice to join us.
01:21 I'm here, and we are going to discuss
01:24 Eden Valley Institute of Wellness.
01:26 We're going to learn all about their ministry.
01:28 We're going to learn about the wonderful miracle stories
01:31 and just see how God is really moving
01:35 through their organization.
01:36 Here with me today,
01:37 we have Chelsea Carena
01:40 and you are the Eden Valley Lifestyle Center director,
01:43 correct?
01:44 Yep, that's right. Wonderful.
01:46 It's great to have you.
01:47 We're excited to be here.
01:49 Yes, and we have Brenda Bradley Davila
01:52 and you are the Eden Valley Lifestyle Center
01:55 aftercare coordinator.
01:57 And possibly even my cousin. I don't know.
02:00 We'll have to figure that one out.
02:02 That's something we'll work on.
02:03 It's so good to be back with you all.
02:05 Yes. Thanks for having us.
02:06 Yes, and you've been here before.
02:09 I actually watched some of your,
02:10 your previous interview when you were here.
02:13 So, it was great, great to have you.
02:14 Thank you.
02:16 Before we dive into everything about Eden Valley,
02:20 I want to go to a song.
02:21 We're going to be blessed in song
02:23 by Jeff Pearles.
02:25 And the song is entitled "Daystar."
02:46 Lily of the Valley
02:50 Let your sweet aroma Fill my life
03:01 Rose of Sharon show me
03:05 How to grow in beauty In God's sight
03:16 Fairest of ten thousand
03:20 Make me a reflection Of your light
03:31 Daystar shine down on me
03:34 Let your love shine through me In the night
03:45 Lead me Lord, I'll follow
03:49 Anywhere you open up the door
04:00 Let me know your wisdom
04:04 Show me things I've never seen before
04:15 Lord I want to be your witness
04:19 You can take what's wrong And make it right
04:30 Daystar shine down on me
04:33 Let your love shine through me In the night
04:44 Lord I've seen a world That's dying
04:49 Wounded by the master of deceit
05:00 Groping in the darkness
05:03 Haunted by the years of past Defeat
05:14 Then I see you Standing near me, Lord
05:18 Smiling with compassion In your eyes
05:28 I seek Jesus shine down on me
05:33 Let your love shine through me In the night
05:43 Lead me Lord, I'll follow
05:47 Anywhere you open up the door
05:58 Let me know your wisdom
06:02 Show me things I've never seen before
06:13 Lord I want to be your witness
06:17 You can take what's wrong And make it right
06:28 Daystar shine down on me
06:31 Let your love shine through me In the night
06:43 Jesus shine down on me
06:47 Let your love shine through me In the night
07:06 Amen.
07:08 Thank you for that beautiful song,
07:09 Jeff, Daystar.
07:11 So, I want to dive into your background,
07:14 both of you.
07:15 I want to find out
07:17 how did you end up at Eden Valley?
07:19 And what is your background?
07:21 Yeah, so I'm originally from Michigan
07:25 and I went to Oakland University
07:27 and got my degree in health sciences.
07:29 And upon graduating,
07:31 I actually heard the three angels' message
07:34 from a good friend of mine,
07:35 and I started studying the Bible more
07:37 and learned about our health message as a church.
07:41 And I became super interested in that type of work
07:46 because I not only could have the chance
07:48 to minister to people physically,
07:51 but also have a door opening to talk to them about Jesus.
07:55 And so, I started praying and I asked God,
07:58 you know, what can I do with my life
08:01 that incorporates these kinds of things?
08:03 And I just happened to come across
08:05 Black Hills School of Massage Therapy
08:08 on the internet,
08:09 and that's a Seventh-day Adventist massage school
08:11 in South Dakota.
08:13 And so I went there for six months,
08:15 didn't know where I was going to go.
08:17 And upon going to ASI in Phoenix in 2016
08:23 I happened to meet
08:24 the lifestyle director of Eden Valley at the time.
08:27 And he invited me to come and be a part of the team
08:30 at Eden Valley.
08:32 And it was one of the best decisions
08:34 I've ever made.
08:35 Wow, that's, that's amazing.
08:37 Praise the Lord.
08:38 And, Brenda, what about you?
08:40 Well, some of you may already know that
08:42 I am a retired Navy chaplain of 26 years
08:46 and my last duty station was here in,
08:50 well, I should say there in Colorado Springs
08:53 at Peterson Air Force Base,
08:54 I was the command chaplain for NORAD in US North Comm.
08:58 And after returning back to the States in June of 13
09:04 reporting to my command, about four months later,
09:07 they determined that I had an...
09:11 Excuse me, an incurable cancer called multiple myeloma.
09:15 And so I went through the traditional medics
09:18 and treatment plan, which did not work.
09:22 And after returning from that,
09:24 a girlfriend of mine who had cancer
09:26 told me about Eden Valley.
09:28 And so upon hearing about Eden Valley,
09:31 as things began to increase in regard to the cancer,
09:35 I started praying about what to do next
09:37 and hearing about Eden Valley,
09:40 I felt like God was saying we did it the traditional way,
09:43 now it's time to do it, do it His way.
09:45 And so I contacted Eden Valley and enrolled into the program,
09:51 went through the program.
09:52 And upon completion of my two weeks there,
09:55 going back to my oncologist,
09:57 he was amazed to see the improvements
10:00 that had incurred
10:01 since I had gone to Eden Valley.
10:03 And so from that, I made the decision,
10:06 my husband and I did to go to Eden Valley once a month
10:11 to continue treatments on a regular basis.
10:14 And so after doing that for about a year,
10:16 I felt like God was saying, you need to go to school.
10:20 And so one thing led to another,
10:22 and I'll say more about that
10:24 as we get further into the interview.
10:27 So, that's why I'm here. Okay, I love it.
10:30 We're so excited to have Brenda as part of our team.
10:32 She's also the assistant lifestyle director
10:35 and she and her husband are just a powerful couple
10:38 that are a huge asset to the team at Eden Valley.
10:41 Yes.
10:42 So, tell me about your roles with the organization.
10:45 Like that does a typical day look like for you?
10:48 Is there even a typical day?
10:51 And just kind of give us a glimpse of that?
10:53 Yeah, so our program begins at 6:20 in the morning
10:58 and lifestyle guests, they meet with our chaplain,
11:03 Pastor Frank Fournier,
11:04 and he has a trust and healing class
11:06 with them.
11:08 And after that,
11:09 Carlos, our exercise coordinator
11:11 and Brenda's lovely husband,
11:12 he's a personal trainer and a wonderful exercise guru,
11:19 and he pumps the guests up
11:21 and takes them on a morning exercise routine.
11:25 They also receive exercise in the afternoon.
11:28 And so our staff,
11:29 the rest of the staff begins about 8 o'clock in the morning.
11:33 Preparing for treatments, hydrotherapy treatments,
11:36 massage therapy routines,
11:38 preparing supplements and poultices,
11:41 getting schedules ready for the doctor's appointments
11:44 and counselor visits for the guests.
11:47 So, the guests get a lot out of the program.
11:49 The day is very busy for staff and for guests,
11:53 but it's very, very good busy.
11:56 Wow!
11:57 So, for those at home
11:59 that don't know what a poultice is?
12:00 What is a poultice?
12:02 Yeah. So, a poultice is a...
12:04 Yeah, it's a natural remedy.
12:05 You put various different vegetables
12:10 or herb matter inside of a cloth,
12:12 you fold it up and you put it on a body part
12:16 that is inflamed or needs better circulation.
12:20 You need relief from pain.
12:22 So, there's various things.
12:23 For example, for cancer, we use castor oil poultices
12:27 and charcoal poultices.
12:29 And so that helps to break down tumors,
12:32 relieve, draw toxins and relief pain,
12:36 things like that.
12:37 I've heard of the charcoal poultice
12:39 and all of that as well.
12:41 And I just want to put this disclaimer out,
12:43 you know, as we are making suggestions
12:45 and talking about different forms of treatment,
12:47 we always recommend that
12:49 you consult with your primary care physician.
12:51 That's very important
12:53 because they know you better than we do.
12:55 So, make sure you consult with them first.
12:59 Brenda, what's a typical day look like for you?
13:02 Well, as the aftercare coordinator,
13:04 my day is quite busy.
13:05 I start at 6 o'clock in the morning
13:08 and it ends at about 8 o'clock at night.
13:11 So, as the aftercare coordinator,
13:13 I'm contacting previous guests on a weekly basis
13:17 and consulting them on what they're doing
13:21 in regards to carrying the program home with them.
13:25 And so my position is to encourage
13:28 and to stand by
13:30 and support those when they get home
13:33 so that they can continue the program
13:36 because oftentimes studies have shown
13:38 that people who go through programs like ours,
13:41 once they get home, they go back to their old ways.
13:43 And, so, all of the time and energy
13:45 that they've invested in the program
13:47 just goes by the wayside.
13:50 And so, I call them and encourage them,
13:53 find out what's working for them
13:55 and what's not working.
13:56 Hmm-mm.
13:58 Which is so crucial,
13:59 you know, because like you said,
14:01 people can get discouraged and stuff like that,
14:04 and they have to like get back up.
14:06 They have to get back up again.
14:07 Yeah, it's like the faith walk.
14:09 That's right.
14:10 Yes, yes like Christianity.
14:12 You look like you wanted to say something?
14:14 Oh, I was just going to mention that,
14:17 you know, Eden Valley Lifestyle Center
14:19 has been around since about 1960s.
14:23 It was first started
14:26 and the wellness center is comprised
14:28 of various ministries.
14:30 So, we have a farm, we have an education program.
14:34 We have the lifestyle center, of course,
14:37 also a country store.
14:40 And, of course, the church,
14:41 and so we're excited to share with you
14:43 about these things.
14:44 Nice, so you have multiple different facets
14:47 of like health and wellness ministry,
14:49 the institute of wellness.
14:51 Why don't you tell us
14:52 a little bit about each of those?
14:54 Sure.
14:55 So, we have a farm
14:56 and our farm manager Ignacio
14:58 does a wonderful, fantastic job.
15:01 The tomatoes are like nothing you've ever tasted.
15:04 Really? Amazing.
15:05 People say, "They're like candy."
15:07 Yeah. It's really wonderful.
15:09 He's done a great job, phenomenal job.
15:12 We have a new raspberry patch there.
15:14 This spring we planted thousands of seeds.
15:18 And so we had many, many crops that yield
15:22 produce for over five farmer's markets
15:24 in the community.
15:26 Wow.
15:27 So, our farm team and other various staff members
15:30 go into town and sell the produce in town
15:33 and are able to share with the people in town
15:35 about Eden Valley and what we do
15:38 and also provide wonderful food for them.
15:41 That's incredible.
15:42 Don't forget, we're also harvesting
15:44 honey from bees
15:45 that are on the campus as well.
15:47 And we also have a pumpkin patch,
15:50 which I didn't know about
15:51 until I started seeing pumpkins all over the place.
15:53 Wow!
15:55 Wow, so you plant a whole bunch of produce?
15:58 Right.
15:59 Yes, yes, and I liked that they can sell it in town
16:02 and all of that stuff and garner some support.
16:05 Yeah, a new project that we started.
16:08 We built a farm stand at the front of the property.
16:11 And so people that drive by Eden Valley,
16:13 they see the farm stand and they stop
16:15 and are able to converse
16:17 with whomever is working at the stand
16:19 and able to find out a little bit more
16:21 about all the things that we do at the ministry.
16:25 Yes, now, we have some pictures,
16:26 don't we of farm?
16:27 We do, yes, but I also want to add that
16:30 we don't forget what we don't want to forget
16:33 that we have a new refrigerator truck
16:35 that keeps all of our produce fresh
16:38 when they're at market.
16:41 That's definitely important.
16:43 It is important.
16:44 And that truck was really came about through donation
16:48 from a single individual
16:50 who really blessed us with that.
16:52 Praise the Lord.
16:53 And, you know, I know that there have been fires
16:56 and stuff in Colorado.
16:59 How has that truck played a crucial,
17:03 a crucial part in saving produce?
17:07 Well, I'm so glad you asked that question.
17:10 And the reason why is, we have our electricity,
17:14 the power, the gas,
17:16 everything was shut off on campus
17:18 because of the fire.
17:20 And we were able to salvage a lot of our produce
17:25 by taking everything out of the refrigerators
17:27 and putting it into the refrigerator truck.
17:30 And so we still have produce available.
17:32 And that's a true blessing for us
17:34 because so many people are living off of the produce
17:38 that we provide on campus.
17:41 That's amazing how God provides His...
17:44 We serve an on-time God. Yes, we do.
17:46 You know, He sees the end from the beginning
17:47 and He knows what we're going to need
17:49 before we even know what we're going to need.
17:51 And He provides that.
17:53 So, that's absolutely incredible.
17:55 We actually have some pictures speaking of farming.
17:59 So, we'll put those up
18:00 and we'll look at some of those pictures,
18:02 and tell us what's going on here?
18:03 Yeah.
18:05 So, this is actually one of our students
18:06 and one of the farming staff and they're helping out.
18:12 It looks like the raspberry patch there.
18:13 So, they're doing,
18:15 they're doing some work in the patch there.
18:18 The next picture, you can see
18:20 another student who's helping in the farm,
18:22 in the fields there.
18:24 And then in the next picture is Tony.
18:27 He's one of our farm staff workers.
18:31 And he has a barrel of carrots there.
18:34 Delicious carrots,
18:36 we do a lot of juicing at Eden Valley and so,
18:39 and so we use a lot of the produce for that.
18:41 Well, it looks like
18:42 Tony grabbed quite a few carrots.
18:45 He has a lot. Yeah.
18:47 Yes, yes.
18:48 So, tell me about some of the other elements
18:51 of the ministry?
18:54 I'll let Brenda talk about the education program.
18:56 As you saw,
18:57 a couple of students were helping in the farm
18:58 and she's been through the program.
19:00 So, she'll talk about that.
19:02 So I said earlier that
19:03 after going through the cancer program,
19:06 I felt like God was calling me back
19:07 to Eden Valley to go through further training.
19:10 And so I entered the medical missionary evangelism course.
19:15 Right now, the course runs from July until November.
19:20 And so we have a program going on right now.
19:23 And as Chelsea said,
19:24 some of the students who are in the photos,
19:27 and so our education program is designed to equipped,
19:31 and to empower those
19:33 who feel like God has called them
19:35 to the evangelism field.
19:37 And so, I went through that program
19:39 wanting to learn more about
19:41 what it means to receive the treatments
19:44 that I was getting.
19:45 And so as, as well as equipping,
19:48 those who are responding to God's call,
19:51 we also train them through the lifestyle center.
19:55 We train them to be able to do evangelism
19:58 because everything that we do at Eden Valley
20:01 has the foundational stance of helping people
20:06 to come to know Jesus,
20:08 to understand the ministry of Christ
20:10 and what He did for us on the cross
20:13 and for, in His resurrection.
20:15 And so I entered the program
20:18 and began to get training in evangelism,
20:24 training in the medical field
20:28 in regard to the natural treatments,
20:31 the poultices that you've talked about,
20:34 the being able to conduct and give a fever bath,
20:38 we had...
20:39 What's a fever bath?
20:41 Oh, fever bath is one of my favorite things.
20:44 It is where we try to induce a person
20:47 to have a fever of 102 and higher.
20:52 We go up to 105 degrees in temperature.
20:57 Now I see your eyes getting a little bit big over there.
20:59 And I understand why,
21:00 because usually when we get a fever,
21:02 the first thing we say is,
21:04 "Oh, we need to break this fever."
21:06 But the fever is actually saying
21:08 that the body is doing exactly what God designed it to do.
21:11 And that is to fight off any foreign antigen
21:14 that's in our bodies.
21:16 And so with the fever bag...
21:18 The fever bath,
21:20 what we are doing is trying to induce a fever
21:22 so that your immune system would spring into action.
21:26 And so, all of your lymphocytes,
21:29 I call them our body's fighting machine,
21:32 those soldiers spring into action.
21:34 And they start going out saying,
21:36 where's that, that disease,
21:37 where's that bacteria, where's that virus.
21:40 And they go out and attack it.
21:42 And so for people like myself
21:44 whose immune system is compromised,
21:46 inducing a fever helps my immune system
21:50 to spring into action
21:51 and to go out and fight off the cancer.
21:54 Gotcha, gotcha, yeah.
21:56 I was like a fever bath. Wait a minute.
21:59 And you're inducing the fever.
22:01 I got it. I've got it.
22:03 So, what other things did you learn in this program?
22:06 We did a lot of communication on the Book of Revelations
22:10 and the Book of Daniel,
22:12 the three angels' message
22:14 and how to be able to share it
22:16 so that others will come to know Christ.
22:18 And, of course,
22:20 one of our major things was the Sabbath.
22:24 Taking the Sabbath rest and why we do the Sabbath.
22:27 And so, it was quite an interesting
22:30 and wonderful program.
22:32 And I believed in it so much
22:34 that when Carlos and I traveled across country last summer
22:39 before starting the program,
22:41 we felt like God was saying he wanted us to stay.
22:43 And so about a month before the program started,
22:47 or rather before it ended,
22:49 we talked with Lisa to share with her
22:52 that we really believed that God wanted us to stay
22:54 and work on the campus.
22:56 And so my indoctrination with the education program
23:00 led to me staying there
23:02 and becoming the ELPAC coordinator.
23:06 Wow! Wow!
23:07 Quite the journey. Yes.
23:09 Quite the journey.
23:10 What about the lifestyle program?
23:12 Yeah, so the lifestyle program,
23:15 obviously I believe is
23:17 one of the most exciting parts of the ministry
23:19 as I'm most involved with that,
23:21 and the lifestyle program consists of,
23:24 we have various different programs.
23:26 The main one is our 14 day program
23:29 where individuals with cancer, diabetes, heart disease,
23:35 people that are overweight,
23:37 people that are dealing with Lyme disease,
23:39 any lifestyle illnesses,
23:41 they come to us
23:42 and they live with us for 14 days,
23:45 and we put them through a program
23:47 tailored to their needs.
23:49 They see our physician twice a week.
23:51 They see his wonderful wife
23:53 who is a mental health counselor
23:54 twice a week.
23:56 She does something called biblical response living.
23:58 And it...
24:00 What is that, biblical response living?
24:01 So, it's kind of like cognitive behavioral therapy,
24:04 which the world uses in psychology
24:06 to help people rewire their brains
24:10 to think, to think right.
24:12 And so, what Kate does is she uses the Bible
24:17 to counteract the lies that many of us believe in,
24:21 and that hinders our health and wellness.
24:25 Gotcha.
24:26 And so, that is one of the,
24:29 one of the biggest blessings of our program,
24:31 because many people are sick
24:33 due to emotional and mental,
24:35 and stressful things in their life.
24:37 Yes.
24:39 Along with the consultations with the doctor
24:41 and with the biblical response therapy
24:44 is the hydrotherapy treatments.
24:46 As Brenda was talking about the fever therapy,
24:48 we also do sauna treatments to help detox people,
24:52 get them sweating, get them hot
24:55 and then hot and cold showers
24:57 to boost the immune system.
24:58 That is tough.
25:00 I don't know that I'm tough enough for that,
25:01 that hot and cold shower yet.
25:03 I got to get there. Yeah.
25:05 Well, I would suggest tomorrow morning
25:07 when you're taking a hot shower,
25:09 end it with cold.
25:10 And what that does is
25:12 it raises your white blood cell count.
25:14 It helps to fight off a disease and anything that might be
25:17 trying to invade your body.
25:19 So, what other treatments do you offer?
25:22 So, we have hyperbaric oxygen chambers,
25:24 several of them.
25:26 Hyperbaric, what is that? Yeah.
25:27 So, it's a...
25:28 It's basically a pressurized chamber
25:30 that the guest lies down in fully clothed.
25:34 They have supplemental oxygen.
25:36 And, what the chamber does is
25:37 it inflates to about 1.5 atmospheric pressure,
25:41 which is equivalent to being under the water,
25:44 under sea like 30 to 40 feet.
25:46 And so, basically the logic behind it is
25:49 when there's more pressure
25:51 outside of your body and around it,
25:53 your lungs can deliver a greater capacity of oxygen
25:56 to your red blood cells,
25:57 thereby creating a more healing environment
26:01 within your body,
26:02 so that your body has more of a chance
26:04 to fight off cancer
26:05 and whatever else
26:09 that your body may be dealing with.
26:11 Nice. Yeah.
26:13 There's such a variety of treatments
26:15 that, that you all offer.
26:18 I know that you have miracle stories
26:19 and all of that,
26:21 but I want to find out about the staff too.
26:23 Tell us a little bit about the staff?
26:24 Yeah.
26:26 So, God has really blessed us with a wonderful staff.
26:29 We have Brenda and her husband, Carlos,
26:32 who have been retired from the Navy
26:34 for how many years?
26:36 Seven years now.
26:37 Seven years,
26:38 and they add awesome leadership to our team.
26:42 The aftercare coordinator is Brenda,
26:45 her husband is our exercise coordinator
26:48 and he's a personal trainer.
26:50 I'll let Brenda explain a little bit more
26:52 about his background, and what he does.
26:54 Okay.
26:55 Well, Carlos retired from the Navy.
26:57 He was in the army for four years
26:59 prior to joining the Navy,
27:01 and he was an administrative officer
27:02 in the Navy.
27:04 And so, after he retired,
27:05 one of his passions was exercise.
27:08 And so, he went to school for a personal trainer
27:11 and has been doing that ever since.
27:13 And we're blessed by the fact
27:15 that Eden Valley needed someone
27:18 to take over the exercise program.
27:20 And so, one of the photographs
27:22 that you're going to see our guests
27:23 who are outside at the sign as you enter the campus.
27:28 And so, these are guests
27:30 who were on their exercise walk with him
27:32 and he like, he still likes to take photographs.
27:35 So, he was a professional photographer
27:37 and he uses those skills for Eden Valley as well.
27:40 Oh, that's awesome.
27:42 Yeah, so in addition to Brenda and Carlos,
27:44 we have a couple of nurses on staff,
27:47 a couple of licensed massage therapists,
27:50 also our doctor,
27:51 our mental health counselor, a nutritionist,
27:53 and a wonderful kitchen staff.
27:56 And so, God has really brought together
27:58 a team of professionals
28:00 that are not only skilled and talented
28:03 with knowing how to implement
28:05 the physical healing aspect of things,
28:08 but also, you know,
28:09 our team is very connected to Christ.
28:12 And when you have a group of individuals
28:14 who have a relationship with Christ,
28:16 they can then impart that to other people
28:20 and share with the guests
28:21 and the people who come from the community,
28:24 how to obtain that as well.
28:26 In the book Ministry of Healing,
28:28 it says that courage, hope, faith, sympathy, and love
28:32 all tend to promote health and prolong life.
28:35 And so, those are the things that people experience
28:38 when they come to Eden Valley.
28:40 They not only experience
28:42 improvement in their physical health,
28:45 but they experience a love that they've never felt before
28:48 which only comes by Jesus Christ Himself.
28:51 Amen, amen.
28:53 So, you've seen
28:54 how health and the gospel go hand in hand.
28:58 Exactly. Yes, yes.
28:59 And it sounds like
29:01 the people that attend the program
29:03 experience that, they see that
29:05 and they take that back to their families
29:06 I would imagine.
29:08 That is correct.
29:09 You know, having gone through the program myself,
29:11 I was so overwhelmed
29:14 with the kind of love that I received
29:16 when I went through the program,
29:18 and that's coming from someone
29:19 who has been involved in ministry for years.
29:23 But to actually go through the program,
29:26 being loved and experiencing the love of Christ
29:30 through the program was just so amazing
29:33 that I knew I had to go back for more.
29:38 And so, that's what kept calling me
29:39 and drawing me back to Eden Valley
29:41 on a monthly basis
29:43 and seeing the ministry being lived out in myself,
29:48 I wanted to be a part of that
29:50 and God provided so that I could be there.
29:54 And it's just such a wonderful blessing
29:56 and a privilege to be able to be on staff
30:00 and provide for others,
30:01 what I received when I came.
30:03 Amen.
30:04 Off that point,
30:06 I'd like to share a little story
30:07 about one of our guests.
30:09 She came a couple of years ago and she was into new age.
30:13 She was very into mysticism and all that.
30:16 She wanted nothing to do with Jesus.
30:18 When we would offer to pray with her,
30:20 she would decline.
30:21 She was very polite about it, but she said, no, thank you.
30:25 Fast forwarding a couple years to this year,
30:27 she called me and upon talking with me,
30:31 she said that the cancer was back,
30:34 and she said something to me that I'll never forget.
30:36 She said, "I think I'm ready to make friends with Jesus."
30:39 Wow!
30:40 And so, she came to a second program
30:42 and while she was there,
30:43 she just ate up everything that we could share with her.
30:48 And even her husband,
30:50 he was brought, a grown man was brought to tears
30:52 at our graduation.
30:54 And they experienced practical Christianity lived out
30:59 and she gave her heart to Christ
31:01 in one of her biblical response therapy sessions.
31:05 And so that, those are the kind of things
31:07 that encourage us
31:08 to continue with the work that we're doing
31:11 because a life changed for eternity
31:13 is what really matters.
31:15 Yeah, you can't put a price on that.
31:17 You can't. Yes.
31:18 And sometimes the ministry occurs
31:22 not through the staff,
31:24 but through other guests.
31:26 And so, we've had instances where two guests are together,
31:31 one being in Christ
31:33 and fully involved in the ministry,
31:36 ministry to the one who was not in the sauna,
31:40 because there were only two of them
31:42 and God provided the opportunity
31:44 of divine appointment, if you will.
31:45 Yes.
31:47 And so, now we have one who was leaning towards Christ
31:51 and looking for that example while she is at home
31:55 and so many wonderful stories
31:57 about how the Lord works and moves
32:00 and makes His presence known,
32:02 especially for those who have a hard time
32:06 believing that God truly is real.
32:08 Yes.
32:09 And that He is a healer, still is healing.
32:12 Amen. Amen.
32:14 I think that they get to see
32:15 an accurate representation of His character,
32:18 and that's so beautiful.
32:20 Yeah, that's right.
32:21 I'd like to share a Bible verse actually on that point,
32:24 because the story of this particular guest
32:27 reminded me of Isaiah 60:1-3 that says,
32:32 "Arise, shine for that light has come.
32:35 And the glory of the Lord is risen upon me."
32:37 We know the glory of the Lord to be His character.
32:40 "For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth
32:42 and gross darkness, the people,
32:45 but the Lord shall arise upon thee
32:47 and His glory or His character shall be seen upon thee
32:50 and the Gentiles,"
32:52 or people who do not know God,
32:54 "shall come to thy light
32:55 and kings to the brightness of thy rising."
32:58 And that's exactly what happened
32:59 with this particular guest.
33:01 She has, she had a gross misapprehension
33:03 of God's character,
33:05 but when she saw practically
33:07 in the lives of those at Eden Valley,
33:09 the love of Christ portrayed.
33:12 She came to that light
33:14 and she gave her heart to Christ
33:15 and will be saved for eternity.
33:18 Amen. Amen.
33:19 We have some photos and a video that we'd like to share with.
33:24 So, this is a picture of one of our lifestyle groups,
33:29 14 day session,
33:30 and look how much fun they're having.
33:32 This is a morning exercise with Carlos,
33:34 our exercise coordinator,
33:36 and he makes exercise fun for the group
33:39 no matter how old you are.
33:40 In fact, Carlos is 75 years old
33:43 and he might get a little upset with me
33:45 that I shared that.
33:47 But, anyways, it's important that I do mention it
33:49 because most people think,
33:51 oh, you know, when I get old, I can't exercise anymore.
33:54 And all of these things will befall me.
33:58 But in fact,
33:59 exercise is such a major key to good health.
34:03 And Carlos makes exercise practical
34:06 and fun for the people.
34:09 Yeah.
34:10 It probably helps you stay young.
34:12 Yeah, it does. Yes, yes.
34:14 And we have another picture that...
34:15 Yeah, that's right.
34:17 We have another picture
34:18 and this is a picture of one of our,
34:19 one of our staff members praying with two of the guests.
34:23 And so, this just gives you a little,
34:27 a little view of goes on at Eden Valley,
34:30 before treatments we pray and invite God's presence
34:33 because we know that He is the great physician
34:35 and He is the one
34:37 that ultimately brings the healing.
34:39 But this is a picture of the love,
34:41 you know, that the guests, the guests feel there.
34:44 Yes, that spiritual bond as well.
34:47 That's incredible.
34:48 We have a video that we want to put up too.
34:51 Why don't you tell us what we can expect to see?
34:53 Yeah.
34:55 So, this is a short testimony of one of our lifestyle guests.
34:58 She's very dear to us and her story is incredible.
35:02 Before she came to Eden Valley, she was very low on energy.
35:06 She went through a series of chemotherapy
35:08 and it left her very sick.
35:11 And so, she came to Eden Valley to get her health back.
35:15 And so you'll hear from her now.
35:16 Okay.
35:18 My name is Judy and I'm here at Eden Valley.
35:21 I came here because I wanted to feel better.
35:26 I had a chemotherapy treatment for about three months,
35:31 and I was told that
35:32 I wouldn't have, get rid of the symptoms.
35:35 I had neuropathy on my fingers, I had achy sore muscles,
35:39 I had brain fog, I was moody.
35:42 I said,
35:43 "I'm going to come to Eden Valley."
35:45 And sure enough, I came here
35:48 with all the natural treatments,
35:50 the diet, the exercising, it just took all that away.
35:54 You know, after a week I was feeling a lot better,
35:57 but after the second week,
35:59 I was like, I'm running up hills now.
36:01 I couldn't even stand for two minutes
36:03 at my kitchen sink to cook for myself.
36:05 These young people very impressive
36:08 how they love the Lord.
36:09 And it comes up through how they care
36:12 and the effort they put into loving us
36:14 and loving us and bringing us back to health.
36:17 And I'll tell you, I feel so, so much better,
36:20 and I can go back
36:21 and I'm running now and standing for hours now.
36:25 And I went hiking yesterday, climbing up hills,
36:28 and I'm so happy.
36:29 This is such a beautiful healing environment to be in.
36:32 Nature is God's healing power.
36:36 Through the love of His faithful servants,
36:38 God blessed you all, and hope y'all make it here.
36:45 Wow!
36:46 Now, that is an incredible testimony.
36:48 Judy was super excited
36:50 and it seems like, you know, her life has been transformed
36:54 by that experience
36:55 and Christ really helping the healer
36:58 through you all.
36:59 So, tell us a little bit more about Judy's experience?
37:02 Well, Judy is cancer free, and we praise God for that.
37:08 So, her experience at Eden Valley
37:10 has carried over into all of her life
37:13 and she sharing the word about her healing
37:16 and how she got healed
37:18 through God's natural means here at Eden Valley.
37:22 So, not only do we have the story of Judy,
37:25 we have another story of a gentleman
37:27 who came to our program two sessions ago.
37:31 And as a vineyard owner,
37:34 he got convicted with what he was doing
37:37 in regards to the wine.
37:39 And now he's working on producing alcohol free wine
37:45 because of his experience at Eden Valley.
37:48 Again, we have to stress that
37:51 everything we do there is based on the Word of God
37:55 and having hearing that Word,
37:57 he was convicted
37:58 and has changed the course of the vineyard.
38:01 And so, we're so thankful for that,
38:04 but I also have to say that
38:06 the second miracle for him is that
38:09 once he got home a week later, went to his doctor
38:12 and his PSA has gone down to the normal range.
38:16 And so, he is so excited
38:19 about all of this good news for him.
38:23 So, as we talk about Rick and his excitement,
38:27 my position at Eden Valley, as the ELPAC coordinator
38:31 is to contact all of our guests when they get home.
38:35 And so, when they get home,
38:37 I encourage them to continue all of the treatments
38:40 that they have been receiving at Eden Valley.
38:43 And to continue to work the program,
38:45 I asked the question,
38:47 what's working for you and what's not working.
38:49 And we come up with some options
38:51 that will help them to continue the process.
38:54 And so, for many of our guests,
38:57 there's so many stories
38:59 that I'd love to share with you,
39:00 but I don't have the time,
39:02 but contacting them on a weekly basis,
39:05 we get to hear about all of their successes.
39:08 We get to encourage them to not give up.
39:11 Because as we said earlier,
39:13 when you get up on the horse and you fall down,
39:15 you get back up again
39:17 and you commented that it's like being a Christian.
39:20 And so, that contact throughout the course of their time
39:24 with leaving the program is vital to them
39:27 because they are not getting the pampering at home
39:31 that they got when they were at Eden Valley.
39:33 Yes.
39:34 We have folk who are praying for them
39:36 as they come into their groups.
39:38 These groups become united as one
39:42 where constantly they're texting each other,
39:44 they're calling each other,
39:46 they're sharing their experience,
39:48 and so they not only get my support,
39:50 but they get the support from the group that they came
39:54 and went through treatments with.
39:56 And so, it's just such a phenomenal
39:58 to see this happening so well.
40:01 I only wish that I had that
40:03 when I went through the program,
40:04 but I'm thankful that God allowed me
40:06 to be able to introduce all of our guests to it now.
40:11 And so, that's a wonderful addition
40:14 to the program
40:16 because so many people have told me that
40:19 none of the other programs that they've gone through
40:22 have that spiritual element
40:23 where when they leave the program,
40:25 they get a weekly phone call,
40:27 they get to tell me about what's going on.
40:30 And they get to receive the benefit of other options
40:34 that can help them through the process.
40:37 Absolutely, so it sounds like,
40:40 like bonds are formed at Eden Valley,
40:43 so you don't just go,
40:44 you don't just get healing physically
40:47 and not just healing spiritually,
40:48 but you also create new friendships
40:51 and bonds and everything that are long lasting.
40:54 And I liked that aftercare program
40:57 because that's crucial.
40:58 Okay.
41:00 So, you taught me all of these things.
41:01 You showed me how to,
41:03 you know, put this into practice.
41:05 But okay, now I'm out of the classroom,
41:08 now I'm out of the program,
41:12 what do I do next?
41:14 And where's that, that level of accountability.
41:17 And I think that that really helps
41:19 as well as having that accountability,
41:21 like somebody checking up on you,
41:23 like, hey, so how's that,
41:24 how is that treatment going for you?
41:26 How's this going?
41:27 Well, you know, I didn't, I didn't stick with it.
41:31 Well, what do you need to get back up
41:33 and do it and get back on that regimen?
41:35 So, that's, that's amazing.
41:37 That's great.
41:39 Thank you for summing that up for us.
41:41 The other thing that I want to add to that is
41:44 we have the country store.
41:45 And so, all of the supplements
41:47 that they were doing while they were at Eden Valley,
41:50 they get to continue on with that process as well.
41:53 Wow.
41:55 So, the country store, what all do you have?
41:59 Tell me more about the country store?
42:02 At the country store,
42:04 we make our own supplements and our own tinctures.
42:07 And so, we have those on sale for the guests
42:10 after they leave the program.
42:12 We have different supplements.
42:14 We have teas that are made at the country store as well,
42:20 where people who are having difficulty sleeping,
42:23 they can get our sleep tea.
42:25 For those who are experiencing pain.
42:27 We have three levels of pain teas
42:29 that they can purchase
42:31 to help them through their healing process.
42:35 We have various vitamins that they can get.
42:39 We also have some food items,
42:42 food items that we use in the lifestyle center
42:45 for our cooking, and of course the produce.
42:48 So, that's another area
42:51 that our produce from the farm is serving our guests.
42:54 Wow!
42:56 So, you also have an Eden Valley church?
42:59 Yeah. Correct? Okay.
43:01 Tell us about the church?
43:02 So, the church is stationed on the property.
43:05 So, every Sabbath,
43:06 when we run a two week program on Sabbath
43:09 and we take a break from the treatments
43:11 and the guests get to experience
43:13 what a Sabbath rest looks like.
43:15 So, we invite them to come to church,
43:18 come to Sabbath school
43:20 take them on an outing
43:21 to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
43:23 So, they experience a day in God's creation
43:26 and also in His house of worship.
43:29 At the church we're currently doing
43:31 actually many personal Bible studies in town.
43:36 Several months ago,
43:38 Kevin Sears, he's an evangelist in Michigan,
43:41 and he came to teach the students
43:43 how to do door to door work.
43:45 And so we actually went out one Sabbath
43:47 and only in one hour,
43:49 there was a group of maybe 20 of us.
43:53 In one hour, we got 26 Bible study interests.
43:55 Wow.
43:57 And so, many of the staff members
43:58 at Eden Valley
43:59 are continuing those Bible studies
44:01 in these people's homes in the community.
44:04 And so, that's proved to be a huge blessing
44:06 because at this point in time,
44:08 people are wondering what is going on,
44:10 you know, with Corona,
44:11 these wildfires that are happening in Colorado
44:15 with, with murders and injustice happening,
44:19 people are wondering what is going on.
44:21 And so their interest
44:23 in prophecy and spiritual things
44:25 is heightened during this time.
44:27 And people want to know about God
44:29 and they're looking wistfully to heaven,
44:31 and we are God's soldiers to go out there
44:33 and to share the good news with people
44:35 that He sent His Son to die for us
44:37 so that we may have eternal life
44:39 and that He's coming very soon to get us.
44:42 Absolutely.
44:45 What would you say to the individual
44:47 that may be saying to themselves,
44:49 well, I'm not quite ready to go to this program yet?
44:54 I need to get a little bit healthier first
44:57 before I go,
44:58 or I need to change my diet up a little bit
45:01 before I head to Eden Valley,
45:03 what would you say to them?
45:05 I would say, don't wait, do it now.
45:08 The question I would send back to them is
45:13 how serious are you about being healthy?
45:16 If you're really serious now is the time to do it.
45:19 Don't wait.
45:22 Yeah, it seems like, you know, sometimes you hear people say,
45:25 I can't go to God right now because I'm not perfect.
45:29 Or, you know, I've sinned
45:32 or whatever the case may be
45:33 like, you don't wait to go to the hospital
45:37 when you're well.
45:39 That is correct,
45:41 and so while you're sick, now's the time to do it.
45:45 Tomorrow might be too late.
45:48 One of the things that we encounter sometimes is
45:52 for people who are ill,
45:54 they wait until it's almost too late,
45:58 but rather than wait, do it now,
46:01 make the decision today.
46:03 I am so thankful that
46:05 when my health was starting to go down
46:09 the second time around,
46:11 God said, now is the time to do it My way.
46:15 And for me, it was as though God was saying,
46:17 we're going to prove to the naysayers
46:19 that there is healing
46:21 and that I am in control of it
46:23 because the doctors were saying,
46:24 there's no cure for multiple myeloma,
46:27 but I was saying, but God.
46:29 Amen.
46:30 And so, I made that phone call and went through the program,
46:34 and now I am a strong advocate for Eden Valley
46:38 because I know personally
46:41 what we can do through God's healing.
46:45 Amen. Amen.
46:47 Now, do you also offer a preventative measure?
46:51 So, if somebody wants to go there and say,
46:54 "Hey, I just want to boost my immune system.
46:56 I want to get a stronger immune system
46:58 and I want to prepare my body
47:00 for maybe anything it may encounter."
47:03 Yeah, of course. You offer that?
47:05 Yeah, so some people are very sick
47:07 that come to Eden Valley,
47:08 but there are others
47:09 who want to get a kick start to,
47:12 as you said,
47:13 they want to optimize their immune system.
47:14 They want to just become healthier.
47:16 Maybe they don't have any pressing issues,
47:19 but the whole program is tailored
47:21 through the eight laws of health,
47:23 nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance,
47:26 fresh air, rest, and trust in God.
47:29 And so that combined with the sauna treatments
47:33 and the plant-based diet and everything that we do
47:36 will create an optimal environment
47:39 in your body
47:41 to really thrive
47:42 and to live the way that that God wants us to live.
47:44 In 3 John verse 2, the Bible says,
47:47 "Beloved, I wish above all things
47:49 that you may prosper and be in health
47:51 even as thy soul prospers."
47:52 So, it is not God's will that we be sick and depressed
47:56 and low energy and tired all the time,
47:59 but it's His will that we would thrive
48:00 and that we would be happy
48:02 and that we would be living healthfully and holy.
48:05 Amen. Amen.
48:08 What are some of the needs of your organization?
48:12 So, some of the needs
48:14 that we have are in each ministry.
48:17 So, the farm is, is building a new greenhouse
48:21 for to keep up with the demands of the farmer's markets,
48:24 because the community just wants so much produce.
48:28 And so, we do have new equipment
48:29 that we need to build for that.
48:32 We're also in need of a new gym equipment
48:35 and lifestyle center equipment,
48:37 such as new fever, bath tubs,
48:40 and possibly new hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
48:45 We're also, educational wise
48:48 we're working on renovating the education building.
48:51 So, there are a couple pictures
48:53 that we'd like to show of the students.
48:55 Yes.
48:56 Can we bring those up?
49:00 So, these are a few of the students
49:03 and they're in the...
49:04 I believe the education building
49:06 and they're eating.
49:08 The next picture is
49:10 a photo of two of the students working on our pond project.
49:13 So, we have a pond
49:15 that they are remodeling with a track
49:18 that goes around the pond
49:21 especially providing a beautiful place
49:23 for the lifestyle guests
49:26 to have a healing place to go to
49:28 during the day and walk around.
49:30 And so, we are in need of funds
49:35 for that project as well.
49:38 One of our other major projects is rebuilding our roads.
49:47 We have such a wide variety of vehicles
49:51 that are coming in and on the properties
49:54 that have really put
49:56 a lot of pressure on our roads.
49:58 And so, we're looking at redoing the road structures.
50:02 We also are looking at renovating
50:04 some of our housing that's on the campus
50:07 because those who work on campus
50:10 live on campus.
50:12 And so, we're getting a lot of use out of everything.
50:15 And as Chelsea said earlier,
50:17 Eden Valley has been around since
50:19 I believe it was '65, 1965.
50:23 And so, there's been a lot of wear and tear.
50:26 And because we are self-supporting ministry,
50:29 we provide everything ourselves.
50:31 And so, any donations
50:33 that individuals might be willing to make,
50:36 we are accepting.
50:38 Wow. Okay, wonderful.
50:39 Now what about volunteers or staff,
50:42 or do you guys also need workers as well?
50:47 Well, we have a volunteer system
50:49 and program,
50:51 and so we have volunteers who are on campus right now
50:54 from various other countries
50:57 and everyone is considered a volunteer.
51:01 We are looking for volunteers coming up for some farmers
51:08 as we get ready to go to our next season.
51:12 So that's on the horizon
51:14 and some of our students are going to be staying on
51:17 and volunteering interning
51:20 for some of our programs as well.
51:22 Okay, well perhaps you'll get some volunteers
51:26 and all of that,
51:27 some more volunteers and all of those things.
51:29 And hopefully
51:30 our viewers will support the work
51:32 that is being done at Eden Valley
51:34 because it's incredible.
51:37 I know that we're running low on time.
51:39 We will be right back.
51:41 We're going to go to an address roll,
51:43 so you can know
51:44 how to get in contact with them.
51:45 A short news break and we will be right back.
51:48 Don't go anywhere.
