00:20 Hello and welcome back to "Praise."
00:22 Today we are going to listen to a series of songs,
00:25 focusing both on praising God for His love
00:29 and drawing always closer to Him,
00:31 committing our lives completely to Him
00:33 to use however He chooses in service.
00:36 I recently read the autobiography
00:38 of Frances Jane Crosby, who went by the nick name
00:41 of Fanny and he's credited with writing over 8,000 hymns.
00:44 Fanny Crosby was born to a wonderful loving
00:47 Christian family in New England
00:48 and her grandfather actually fought in the revolutionary war.
00:52 The great writer James Fenimore Cooper
00:54 made another one of Fanny's relatives Enoch Crosby,
00:57 the hero of one of his revolutionary novels.
01:00 When Fanny was only six weeks old
01:02 an inflammation destroyed her sight and left her blind.
01:05 But years later she wrote, "It seemed intended
01:08 by the blessed providence of God
01:10 that I should be blind all my life,
01:12 and I thank Him for the dispensation.
01:14 If perfect earthly sight were offered me
01:17 tomorrow I would not accept it.
01:19 I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God
01:22 if I had been distracted by the beautiful
01:24 and interesting things about me.
01:25 Mine has been an experience that has ripened
01:28 into a faith as strong as the hills.
01:29 It has given me a hope that admits me
01:32 into the room called Beautiful."
01:35 One evening as the sun was setting Fanny
01:38 sat visiting with her longtime songwriting partner,
01:40 Mr. W. H. Doane, in his home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
01:44 They were talking together about the nearness of God
01:48 as the night slowly settled around them.
01:51 Fanny was so touched by their discussion that
01:54 before she went to bed that night,
01:56 she sat down and she wrote the song that my friend Jill
01:59 is going to play for us right now.
02:01 "I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice.
02:04 And it spoke Thy love to me, but I long to rise
02:09 in the arms of faith and be closer drawn to Thee."
05:09 Lord, you have my heart
05:13 And I will search for yours
05:18 Jesus take my life and lead me on
05:27 Lord, you have my heart
05:31 And I will search for yours
05:36 Let me be to you a sacrifice
05:45 And I will praise you, Lord
05:53 And I will sing of love come down
06:02 And as you show your face
06:10 We'll see your glory here
06:42 Lord, you have my heart
06:46 And I will search for yours
06:50 Jesus take my life and lead me on
06:59 And I will praise you, Lord
07:08 And I will sing of love come down
07:16 And as you show your face
07:24 We'll see your glory here
11:23 How can I keep? How can I keep?
11:28 How can I keep
11:33 from singing?
11:40 My life flows on
11:45 in endless song
11:51 Above earth's lamentation
11:59 I hear the real though far-off hymn
12:10 That hails a new creation
12:15 a new creation
12:18 Through all the tumult
12:23 and the strife
12:29 I hear it's music ringing
12:36 It sounds an echo in my soul
12:44 How can I keep from singing?
12:53 The peace of Christ
12:58 makes fresh my heart
13:03 A fountain ever springing
13:11 All things are mine
13:15 since I am His
13:22 How can I keep from singing?
13:29 Since Christ is Lord of Heaven and earth
13:41 How can I keep
13:46 from singing?
13:51 How can I keep? How can I keep?
13:55 How can I keep
14:00 from singing?
17:23 Rendered at Your Feet,
17:28 I want to be precious Lord

17:38 and your sweet things full of love
17:44 You surround me with Your mercy

20:20 My Jesus, I love Thee,
20:26 I know Thou art mine
20:32 For Thee all the follies
20:38 of sin I resign
20:44 My gracious Redeemer,
20:51 my Savior art Thou
21:00 If ever I loved Thee,
21:06 my Jesus, 'tis now
21:21 I love Thee because
21:27 Thou hast first loved me
21:33 And purchased my pardon
21:39 on Calvary's tree
21:45 I love Thee for wearing
21:51 the thorns on Thy brow
21:57 If ever I loved Thee,
22:03 my Jesus, 'tis now
22:21 In mansions of glory
22:27 and endless delight
22:33 I'll ever adore Thee
22:38 in heaven so bright
22:44 I'll sing with the glittering
22:51 crown on my brow
22:59 If ever I loved Thee,
23:06 my Jesus,
23:13 'tis now
23:36 We will spend eternity praising God
23:38 for His great love to us, for redeeming us
23:42 and for caring us through all the trials
23:44 that we faced down here.
23:46 One of my mini favorite songs is found in Chapter 95,
23:50 "Come let us sing unto the Lord,
23:53 let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
23:57 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving,
24:01 and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.
24:04 For the Lord is a great God,
24:07 and a great King above all Gods.
24:09 In His hand are the deep places of the earth.
24:12 The strength of the hills is His also.
24:16 The sea is His, and He made it,
24:18 and His hands formed the dry land.
24:21 O come, let us worship and bow down.
24:24 Let us kneel before the Lord,
24:26 our Maker, for He is our God.
24:29 And we are the people of His pasture,
24:31 and the sheep of His hand.
24:39 O Lord my God,
24:44 When I in awesome wonder
24:50 Consider all the worlds
24:55 Thy Hands have made
25:01 I see the stars,
25:05 I hear the rolling thunder
25:11 Thy power throughout
25:15 the universe displayed
25:22 Then sings my soul,
25:27 My Savior God, to Thee
25:33 How great Thou art,
25:39 How great Thou art
25:45 Then sings my soul,
25:50 My Savior God, to Thee
25:56 How great Thou art,
26:03 How great Thou art
26:15 When Christ shall come,
26:19 with shout of acclamation
26:25 And take me home,
26:29 what joy shall fill my heart
26:36 Then I shall bow,
26:41 in humble adoration
26:47 And there proclaim,
26:51 "My God, how great Thou art"
26:57 Then sings my soul,
27:03 My Savior God, to Thee
27:09 How great Thou art,
27:15 How great Thou art
27:20 Then sings my soul,
27:26 My Savior God, to Thee
27:32 How great Thou art,
27:38 How great Thou art
27:44 How great Thou art,
27:50 How great Thou art
