01:37 Amen, we're going to sing now the
01:40 church has one foundation.
05:54 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
06:04 What a glory He sheds on our way!
06:14 While we do His good will, He abides with us still
06:24 And with all who will trust and obey
06:36 Trust and obey, for there's no other way
06:45 To be happy with Jesus, but to trust and obey
07:01 Trust and obey, for there's no other way
07:16 To be happy with Jesus,
07:23 Jesus, but to trust and obey.
08:32 Good morning and happy Sabbath,
08:36 as we trust the God of our salvation and obey
08:40 Him in love as He has invited us to come
08:43 before Him in worship on this wonderful
08:45 Sabbath morning. I would like to welcome
08:48 you to the ASI convention as it
08:50 celebrates it 60th anniversary,
08:55 we have been sent greetings from the
08:57 President of our World Church Elder Jan Paulsen
09:01 and I share in the sentiments that he has sent.
09:04 And so I would like to offer that greeting for
09:07 you, Elder Paulsen writes: I greet you with the
09:12 words of the psalmist, better is one day in your
09:16 courts Lord then a thousand elsewhere,
09:20 I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house
09:22 my God then dwell in the tents of the wicked,
09:25 for the Lord God is a son and shield.
09:30 It is in the close association that we are
09:32 invited to engage in the mission
09:35 of telling the world. It is a partnership which
09:40 involves all believers of all cultures,
09:44 laity, youth and others, I value highly the ASI
09:51 commitment to mission and to work closely
09:54 with the rest of the church in serving God.
09:58 I commend you for your commitment,
10:01 yours and obedience to Christ Elder Jan Paulsen,
10:06 might we be blessed today as we
10:08 lift up the name of Jesus.
10:19 Please stand with me as we sing
10:20 "O worship the King" our opening song.
12:48 I just like to remind everyone as we are
12:51 gathered here before the Lord and His holy
12:54 angels, that we request that you do not applaud,
12:59 that if you are blessed by the music or the
13:03 message that you please say amen, amen.
13:07 Please bow your heads with me as we pray.
13:11 Our dear gracious kind heavenly Father,
13:14 we thank you so much for bringing us together
13:17 on this your holy Sabbath day.
13:21 We thank you dear Lord for the blessings
13:24 of this past week and the wonderful messages
13:27 that we have been blessed as well as the
13:29 testimonies that we have heard throughout
13:33 the past few days. We pray that as we enter
13:37 into your holy worship hour that our hearts will
13:40 be pierced and our minds refreshed through your
13:44 Holy Spirit. That the message that is received
13:49 will be taken from this place and used in many
13:53 ways to spread the gospel of your soon coming.
13:57 Pray that you will anoint our speaker this
14:00 morning with your Holy Spirit and that his
14:04 message will reflect the glory of Your goodness
14:07 and mercy to each one of us. Amen.
14:10 We thank You and praise You and ask this
14:13 all in Jesus Holy name amen, amen.
14:29 Don't let your heart be troubled.
14:34 If you believe in God, believe, why not
14:40 believe also in Me, also in Me.
14:46 Why don't you set your troubled hearts at ease
14:52 If you are trusting God, then put all of your trust
14:59 also in Me, also in Me.
15:04 For in my Father's house are many mansions.
15:12 Many mansions and I am going there
15:17 To prepare, prepare a place for you
15:22 So don't let your hearts be troubled,
15:27 I am coming back again to receive you unto myself
15:34 That where I am you maybe also,
15:43 for in my father's house are any mansions.
15:52 Many mansions and I am going there
15:58 To prepare, prepare a place for you
16:04 So don't let your hearts be troubled,
16:09 I am coming back again to receive you unto myself
16:17 That where I am you maybe also,
16:25 you maybe also. Amen.
16:45 We've come to that special part of our
16:47 worship service, for we worship through giving,
16:52 I know we have worship this morning
16:54 by study as we have listened to the Sabbath
16:56 school lesson. We've worshiped through
16:58 music, hasn't the music been wonderful? Amen.
17:02 We're gonna be worship through the spoken
17:04 word here in a little while as our worship
17:06 service continues but now it is time for us to
17:09 worship through giving. If you look in your
17:14 programs, if you've had opportunity to look in
17:16 your programs, the 60th anniversary issue program.
17:19 You will note in there that there are 40
17:22 different projects from around the world that
17:26 your ASI organization, your ASI leadership has
17:29 chosen to feature for our offering this year,
17:32 that means the dollars that you put in to the
17:35 offering this morning are gonna go and touch
17:37 ministries in number of 40 around the world.
17:41 Now this morning we have chosen to bring
17:46 four of those ministries before you, to let them
17:48 tell you their story of what they're going to be
17:51 doing with the offering that is given to them,
17:54 what they are gonna be doing to glorify and
17:57 promote God's work. You know, 60 years is a
18:01 longtime for an organization to be
18:03 around and ASI is proud that we have
18:05 made 60 years but you know in reality
18:08 wouldn't we all really rather be some place
18:10 else like the kingdom of heaven.
18:14 But I wanna tell you that while we're still
18:16 here God gives us the privilege of giving to
18:20 His cause and helping to empower this gospel
18:22 that goes around the world and I want you to
18:23 just say as you listen to this individuals as they
18:27 share what they're gonna be doing with
18:29 their offering that you give today to forward
18:32 God's work. I want you to keep in mind some,
18:34 a couple of special points, number one
18:38 that's since 1993, 14 conventions ago.
18:43 We have take in this offering multiple
18:46 millions of dollars for God's cause, and I want
18:50 to say thank you to every single one of you
18:52 that have given because you have empowered
18:55 the gospel of Jesus Christ to go out in
18:57 powerful ways around this world that will only
18:59 be measured in the kingdom of heaven.
19:02 Now, I want to introduce to you the
19:04 first of the four groups that will be coming out
19:07 Claus Nybo, Claus is from Sweden,
19:12 Lifestyle Television in Sweden and Claus,
19:14 please share what God has laid on your heart.
19:19 Thank you Dan for giving us the time to
19:22 share, you know ASI has meant the world to
19:25 us in the years that we have been here.
19:27 It is through the inspiration of faith,
19:29 sacrifice and commitment that we've
19:31 seen here that we have dared to venture out
19:35 into the mission that we have done.
19:37 But the Lord called us to in starting a TV station,
19:41 I wanna bring you to an area of the
19:43 world as Dan mentioned in Sweden,
19:45 an area that often is known as being ahead
19:48 in technological development,
19:51 in the standard of living and other innovations.
19:55 But did you know that the UN also accounts
19:57 Sweden as the most secular country in the
20:01 world, an area where less then 2 percent
20:04 attends church. And it's in this area
20:07 that we were called to serve God in a capacity
20:10 of a TV station, I wanna share a little clip with
20:13 you about what has happened over the last
20:16 year and half at Lifestyle TV.
22:20 Amen. Praise the Lord for what he has done,
22:23 I am humbled when I see the way that
22:26 he provides every single month for the needs
22:29 of this ministry, in an area that is less
22:33 than 1500 square feet this whole ministry operates
22:36 with studios, with offices, master control,
22:39 student living quarters and everything else.
22:42 And today we are at the point where we need
22:45 to expand and are dreaming of the time
22:48 when we could have a real studio where we can
22:50 produce more programs. So, often as we walk
22:53 the fields we wonder when will the Lord open
22:56 that door, and we were excited this winter
22:59 when we heard from ASI that they had accepted
23:02 to take us as part of their offering for this
23:05 morning to help lay the foundation of a
23:09 new studio. The results that we are hearing from
23:12 people around in Scandinavia that are
23:14 walking into churches is amazing,
23:16 just the other day here at ASI one of your
23:19 members came up to me from Norway
23:21 and said I was just in a church three weeks ago
23:24 in Norway and there was a lady that was in church
23:28 because of Lifestyle TV. She had never heard
23:30 of Adventists before, this is happening all
23:32 the time and we wanna see more of it
23:35 and we wanna do more program, programming.
23:37 And we thank you ASI for all of your support
23:40 and inspiration that you have been to us in
23:43 reaching out to Scandinavia.
23:44 Thank you. Amen.
23:56 Good morning ASI family and happy Sabbath.
23:59 Good morning. Dr. Fleck, I understand that
24:04 gospel outreach does outreach work
24:07 in 46 different countries and it works hand
24:10 in hand with the global mission of the
24:13 Seventh-day Adventist church. Yes Jeremy,
24:15 we're privileged and it's a thrill to be part of
24:17 finishing God's work, you know we're told that,
24:20 that nobody is going anywhere until the gospel
24:23 is going everywhere. And in China there are
24:27 1.3 billion people they need to hear about Jesus.
24:31 Now, I have been hearing about this exciting
24:33 new project could you tell us about it?
24:36 Oh! It's very exciting just in the last two months,
24:41 we have now had the opportunity to talk about
24:43 what we're doing right now and that is that
24:45 we're gonna be putting because of the project
24:47 of ASI today. We're gonna be able to put
24:51 Desire of Ages, we're gonna be able to put
24:53 Christ Object Lessons and some of these incredible
24:56 books into the hands of the Chinese people,
25:00 this is awesome. Well, Dr. Fleck is this,
25:07 is this, the Desire of Ages lesson Chinese,
25:10 that's it Kimberly is it. This very book one
25:15 of my favorite books is gonna be able to go
25:18 into all the China, into all the libraries,
25:21 into the university libraries in China
25:23 this is awesome. So, are you telling us that
25:26 these books are going to be in public libraries?
25:30 Yes, there gonna be in the university libraries
25:33 and in some many of the public libraries,
25:34 it's incredible. Amen. Eleven Chinese,
25:43 where the students gonna be able to find them,
25:46 like why are they in libraries and book stores?
25:48 Well see Kimberley in China believe it or not
25:51 a lot of people don't know this but a lot of
25:53 the young people in high school and in universities
25:56 and colleges they have to read the Bible.
25:58 Okay, it's obligatory, but study does literature
26:02 not as a religion book and many of them
26:04 just like me I didn't do very well in literature
26:07 in college. And so they have hard time
26:10 understanding the Bible, but with these,
26:12 with these books right next to the Bible
26:16 in the libraries they're going to be able
26:18 to understand the Bible and not only as a book
26:22 but also maybe we hope they can learned
26:24 to have a meaning in their life and the personal
26:27 relationship with Jesus. Amen, so are you
26:31 telling us this morning that there gonna be
26:33 books stowed in China and other countries?
26:37 See, this is another incredible miracle
26:38 and that is just in the last six weeks
26:41 we have found out that is now possible
26:43 after 50 years to have colporteurs again in China.
26:47 Wow, amen. And this is incredible you know
26:49 this is how our work spread all over the world
26:52 and so for the first time they have given us
26:54 permission that if these men and women,
26:57 literature, evangelist if their license to me
27:00 they after pay a fee, a peddlers fee
27:03 to the government. But now they're able to sale
27:05 these books in door-to-door
27:07 in the streets and even in the public book
27:10 stores in China but only the books that are
27:12 approve by The Three-Self Patriotic Movement
27:15 in the Chinese Christian Commission which
27:18 their government regulate forces for,
27:20 for religion and this book over 30 years ago
27:25 and Christ Object Lesson they have been approve
27:27 by The Three-Self and so they will be
27:29 the first one that will saw this is incredible.
27:31 Amen. So, Jeremy what do you think about
27:34 this awesome ASI project that is living
27:36 to be reached? Wow, I'm so excited about
27:40 this project that is going on here at ASI,
27:43 if I was young person in China studying the Bible
27:46 as a literature I would love to have a book,
27:49 a lesser light to lead me and guide me
27:51 to the greater light, to help me understand
27:54 this greater light. So, I'm so excited about
27:56 this project. Amen. I just wanna thank everyone
28:00 for this incredible support for gospel outreach,
28:03 ASI has been tremendous support
28:05 and each one of you will have a part when these
28:07 books going to these libraries,
28:09 when there going to the book stores either home,
28:11 each one of you will be going with those books,
28:13 thank you so much. Amen.
28:23 Good morning. Good morning.
28:24 I'm Justin McNeilus and this is my
28:27 friend and boss, Israel Ramos and we wanna
28:30 tell you just a little bit about GYC
28:32 and I just asked Israel maybe just to tell us
28:34 a little bit about what it is in case
28:35 you're not aware of it. Justin, GYC is a place
28:40 where young people can seat at the feet of
28:43 some of our churches most capable ministers,
28:47 health professionals and businessmen.
28:50 Imagine with me the opportunity that a
28:52 young person has who maybe is not able
28:54 to attend a public college or university
28:57 or a high school. They don't know much about
28:59 the Bible, they don't know much how
29:01 they can connect with the Seventh-day
29:02 Adventist church and here you allow them
29:04 the opportunity to seat at the feat of some
29:07 of the most capable church leaders in the
29:09 world today. They're godly,
29:11 they're successful in their areas of ministry
29:14 and leadership and they're able to train
29:16 our young people to follow Jesus Christ
29:19 that is what GYC is? Amen. And I think very
29:22 early on in GYC we decided we wanted
29:24 to be more than just an organization where
29:26 people come and listen, but rather an organization
29:29 where they give back a little bit.
29:31 So, we decided in Sacramento we would
29:33 send young people out, we sent out 1200 young
29:37 people into the streets of Sacramento.
29:39 We decided we do more in Chattanooga,
29:42 we sent out 8, excuse me, one thousand eight
29:45 hundred and fifty young people into the
29:48 cities of Chattanooga, amen. Amen.
29:50 But than that was not enough so we went
29:51 to Baltimore, in Baltimore we filled up
29:53 28 full size buses and that wasn't enough
29:57 there was 1200 people who went out on the
30:00 streets into the middle, excuse me the downtown
30:03 Baltimore and ask people if they wanted
30:05 Bible studies. But it seems to me Israel,
30:09 that these ASI people they are more than just
30:11 what happen in the past aren't they?
30:13 Yeah, they would rather know what we're gonna
30:15 do in the future. And if we focus on the past,
30:17 we will never give a stage again Justin,
30:19 we need to talk about the future. Imagine with me,
30:22 we have about 3000 at least people here at
30:26 ASI look around, look around and if you imagine
30:29 with me 80 percent of the people here,
30:32 imagine 80 percent of the people here getting up
30:35 after the church service, going outside
30:38 where about 20 to 30 buses,
30:40 school buses will be waiting for them.
30:41 And going out in Minnesota knocking
30:44 on doors, now GYC is held in the winter
30:46 that's the only time where young people
30:48 have time to do evangelism during their
30:50 Christmas break. Where in Minnesota it's 20 below
30:54 zero people have to go, the North face company
31:00 is gonna make a lot of money.
31:02 People are going out there with their jackets
31:04 because it's dangerous out there, they have
31:06 to be excited because if they're not
31:07 they're gonna freeze to death.
31:08 And they're knocking on doors; they're knocking
31:11 on doors because they want to share the gospel
31:14 with Minnesota. Amen. But we're not just gonna
31:17 stop there because of what ASI
31:19 is doing for GYC, we're gonna have an
31:21 evangelistic series following up Minneapolis.
31:24 Now, our slogan at GYC is higher than the highest,
31:28 so we don't think just because we're in
31:30 Minnesota and just because it's freezing
31:31 that we're knock and do some evangelism,
31:33 amen. Amen. So, we're gonna send out people
31:36 probably 30 plus buses, we're gonna go
31:38 into the heart of Minneapolis
31:40 and we're gonna ask for Bible studies.
31:42 And after that we're working with the
31:43 Minnesota conference, we're gonna have some
31:45 evangelistic meetings led out by young people,
31:48 preach by young people and it's gonna be put
31:51 on by young people, amen. Amen.
31:53 And it's because what ASI is doing that
31:55 this is a possibility for GYC.
31:59 Justin, we don't have to imagine because what
32:01 ASI is gonna contribute will help this to be
32:04 a reality for young people, but it's not
32:06 gonna stop dear friends,
32:08 it's not gonna stop there. Someone is gonna
32:10 come to GYC, he or she is gonna knock on
32:13 some doors, that person is gonna go back
32:16 to their local church, where there are not
32:18 other young people that have the support
32:20 that they will find at GYC. That person is gonna
32:23 understand that outside of doing ministry
32:26 for Jesus they're gonna die, so that young
32:28 person is gonna go and in his or in her
32:31 local church, in his or in her country.
32:34 They're gonna want to do something for
32:36 Jesus; it's not gonna stop there, the impact,
32:39 the impact that ASI will have on a GYC
32:42 young person will be an impact that will last
32:45 throughout eternity. Israel before you wrap this up,
32:49 I just wanna give them a special invitation.
32:52 And I just wanna beyond us with you for a second,
32:54 I've grown up in the church, went to a
32:56 Seventh-day Adventist school and church
32:58 is all my life. But the most exciting powerful
33:02 time I saw a God work was at GYC
33:05 and I would invite ASI members to come up
33:09 and on our Sabbath afternoon activity
33:11 I want you to come up and sit behind a stage.
33:14 Because when you come and you see 2000 plus
33:18 young people stand up at the same time,
33:21 get all on the buses, go into the community.
33:24 You know that God is working, amen,
33:26 it's a sea of young people that go out into
33:30 a city and I invite you to come to that.
33:32 Israel thank them again, thank you ASI for
33:35 making this possibility for us. Amen. Amen.
33:42 I'd like to introduce you to Pastor Paul Ratsara,
33:44 President of the Southern African-Indian
33:47 Ocean Division of Seventh-day Adventist
33:49 and Reginald Sibanda from the villages of Africa.
33:52 Pastor Ratsara, the Southern African-Indian
33:56 Ocean Division is partnering with ASI
33:58 in a unique project what's the origin of
34:01 that project? Thank you very much;
34:05 the fact is that we want to go home
34:07 as soon as possible. Amen. And I was working
34:12 in Bible studies and the spirit of prophecy
34:15 just to find the key to finish God's work
34:19 not in the next generation,
34:21 but in this generation. And the Lord answered prayer
34:25 and He showed the key to finish God's work
34:31 right in this generation. And the fact is that
34:34 we need to have the repeat of the book of Acts,
34:39 what we read in the book of Act should be not
34:42 only to be read, but to live by.
34:44 And also the end time prophecies about us
34:48 to be fulfilled in our lifetime,
34:51 so one component of that key is what we call
34:56 fishers of men based on Matthew
35:00 chapter 4 verse 19: "Follow me,
35:03 and I will make you fishers of men."
35:05 And in Christians Service page 9:
35:09 Every true disciple is born into the kingdom
35:13 as a missionary. So this program is to train
35:16 and equip lay people for service.
35:20 You piloted it in a very difficult area in
35:24 Zimbabwe, how many members did we have
35:27 in that area when you began this lay
35:28 training program? And actually the idea is that
35:32 every new member once they are baptized
35:36 or even before being baptized we'll involve
35:39 them intentionally to win souls. So, we started it
35:44 with a pilot project in Zimbabwe
35:47 what they call district, Mwenezi district, one of
35:50 the hardest territory, with 273 members.
35:55 Pastor, you come from the villages
35:58 you are district is the Mwenezi district with
36:01 273 members four years ago, how many members
36:05 do you have today? Thank you pastor,
36:08 today we have 21,348 members.
36:13 You have grown from 273 members in four years
36:17 to 21,000, how many churches did you pastor
36:21 when you went to the district?
36:22 We had ten churches. How many do you
36:25 have today? One hundred and seventy two churches.
36:28 You are the conference president?
36:30 No, I'm the district pastor.
36:32 You pastor a hundred and seventy two churches,
36:36 how many associate pastors do you have?
36:38 I have one associate pastor.
36:40 And are you training some lay people?
36:43 Yes, we train, this year we managed to train
36:47 one thousand and fifty lay people to
36:49 conduct meetings. A thousand and fifty
36:52 lay people to conduct the evangelistic meetings
36:54 in your district and they're your lay pastors.
36:57 Now, Pastor what is the, what principles
37:01 do you operate on to take a church district
37:04 from two hundred and seventy three
37:06 to twenty one thousand?
37:09 We use the concept of faith, prayer,
37:13 training the lay people and hard work.
37:16 Prayer, tell me about your personal prayer life?
37:23 I pray for up to 4 hours a day, I wake up at 2 am
37:28 and I pray up to 6 am. You're spending 4 hours
37:32 a day in prayer, now that would be difficult
37:35 for many of us do you have a prayer list?
37:38 Yes, I have prayer list that I update
37:41 every morning. And how many projects
37:43 on your prayer list? Sometimes I have up to
37:46 800 prayer requests, sometimes it comes
37:49 down to 60, sometimes to nothing.
37:52 Why does it come from 800 to 60?
37:55 Because the Lord would give answer the prayers
37:57 and I will delete from the list.
38:00 The Lord answers the prayers, amen,
38:02 you told me about an experience.
38:05 Now folk, this is a miracle, Reginald and
38:08 groups were traveling on rough roads,
38:11 they were traveling into a village to hold an
38:13 evangelistic meeting. They have to bring food
38:16 into that village because they were gonna be
38:18 there for a long time, they were going to hold
38:22 the evangelistic meetings for 3 or 4 weeks.
38:24 They needed gas or petrol to go and
38:26 they had 200 liters of petrol on the back
38:28 of the truck with the food, what happened?
38:31 The drum was damaged with all the petrol leak
38:35 into the food, so all the food was spoiled.
38:38 Was the food saturated with gas?
38:41 Yes, the food was saturated with gas
38:43 and when we got to the places where we were
38:46 to distribute the food, we discovered that
38:48 all the food with gas. Did you see it with
38:51 your eyes? Yes, we could see, we could smell it,
38:55 the drum was emptied. Two hundred liters
38:58 across the food, yes, what did you do?
39:01 We discovered that we have nothing to do
39:04 so we prayed and we give out the food to the
39:07 lay people who were preaching.
39:09 And two hours of prayers the people
39:12 never had that the food with gas,
39:14 there was no smell in the food,
39:16 all the preachers ate the food.
39:19 And there was no smell of gas in the food at all,
39:21 not at all, God worked a miracle,
39:24 another answer of prayer of what God is doing,
39:26 the Holy Spirit being poured out like
39:28 in the days of Acts. A police officer reacted
39:31 negatively against the meetings and
39:33 he was gonna arrest Reginald what happened?
39:36 What happened was that the police officer,
39:38 actually their police in-charge said
39:41 not in this area, you cannot visit homes here.
39:44 So, I'm going to arrest your pastor,
39:46 you cannot do this. So, the lay people
39:50 and the pastors, they prayed
39:53 and when they prayed after two days a big truck,
39:56 a police truck came in front of the house
40:00 of the police officer who stopped the lay people
40:02 to preach and with the letter,
40:04 he said, look you are transferred.
40:06 You need to pack and today you need to go,
40:11 so you had to leave and a new man came
40:16 and the population in that area said,
40:20 look we would like to give you a piece of advice.
40:23 Don't ever mess up with the Adventist?
40:26 If you mess up with them,
40:27 you will be transferred also? Little did they know
40:33 that this new police officer in-charge is
40:36 an Adventist? Amen. You trained a thousand fifty
40:41 lay preachers, are they conducting evangelistic
40:44 meetings right now? Yes, they are conducting
40:47 the Bible studies with people right now.
40:49 And how many do you anticipate will be baptized
40:52 in your district from this ASI initiative,
40:55 the ASI has founded this.
40:56 We hope, by the grace of God to baptize
40:59 over 15000 people. Fifteen thousand,
41:02 so from 273 to over to thirty five thousand
41:07 members in your district. Pastor Paul,
41:11 I know that some people are thinking that
41:13 these people are being baptized quite quickly,
41:15 quite rapidly that we baptize just a lot
41:19 and they have superficial experiences
41:21 is that true? No, not in that district,
41:24 since this is pilot project to make sure that we,
41:27 we have not only the quantity but the
41:30 quality meaning we have to teach them the
41:34 Bible doctrine and about 90 percent of them.
41:38 They are faithful stewards and they are winning
41:41 souls not only they are present,
41:43 but they are there to share the good news.
41:46 Now, after evangelistic meeting like this in a
41:49 hundred and seventy two churches where you train
41:52 these lay people. You must need a lot of pastors
41:56 to command, now are you looking for more pastors
41:58 to come into your district.
42:00 No, we are not looking for more pastors,
42:03 because we are training the lay people to look
42:06 after the members and also. You are not looking
42:08 for more pastors, no, not more people from
42:10 North America to hold the evangelistic meeting
42:11 in your district. No, you don't want me to come.
42:14 No, we don't want you to come.
42:16 Thank you very much, you wanna train the lay
42:19 people there. Now, but I let you know to baptize
42:24 these thousand of people it must take you,
42:26 how long does it take you to baptize,
42:28 what's the longest period you've ever baptized?
42:31 Each one time after conducting the meetings,
42:34 we baptized continuously for 14 days, 14 days
42:38 continually, yes, when did you baptized
42:41 during those fourteen days. We're baptized
42:43 in some places it was in the morning,
42:45 some places it was in the afternoon
42:48 and in the evening. How did you get from
42:49 place to place? Sometimes we'd walk
42:52 from place to place to baptize.
42:54 How far you walk sometimes,
42:55 so further should walk? I walked for 45 kilometers.
42:59 That's about 25 miles between place to place
43:02 to place to baptize, to baptize,
43:04 to baptize for fourteen days.
43:05 Pastor, what is your vision for your entire
43:10 division how can that ASI help specifically,
43:13 what are your needs? Thank you very much,
43:16 the idea is that, this is pilot project
43:19 and we would like this to be adopted throughout
43:23 entire territory of the division SID
43:26 twenty three countries, 8 unions, 38 conferences
43:30 and fields. So, we need to duplicate this into
43:35 the different districts, we need picture rolls,
43:39 fifty thousand picture rolls.
43:42 What will happen with fifty thousand picture
43:43 rolls in your district? We've just one picture
43:47 roll, many people will watch and will study
43:52 the word of God. What else do you need?
43:55 We need DVDs ten thousand DVDs,
43:58 DVD players, DVD players we need Bibles,
44:03 we need Bible lessons. How many members
44:06 in your division? Almost 2.2 million now,
44:09 how many lay people can be equip to train
44:11 in your division. Actually our goal is to train
44:15 up to 85 percent of the lay people to win souls.
44:20 Amen. And God will move. Now Pastor Reginald,
44:24 I want you to make an appeal to this group
44:28 to help you in Africa. I've told you before
44:32 that you remember, you remember one of the
44:35 prayer request that's Pastor Reginald,
44:38 Pastor Reginald, what are your prayer requests,
44:41 you were praying, what were you praying about,
44:43 you're gonna hold a hundred and seventy six
44:45 big evangelistic meetings, a thousand small ones,
44:47 there was a need what were you praying about?
44:50 We were praying in April that the Lord
44:52 will provide us with the funds to be able to
44:55 conduct these meetings. And as you prayed
44:58 what were you impressed to do?
45:00 As I prayed I met Pastor Mark Finley
45:03 and I told him about the meetings
45:06 and the requests and the Lord blessed us,
45:09 he got the funds for us. You know where I got
45:11 those funds? From ASI. Amen, I got a call from the
45:16 villages of Africa this man found a telephone
45:19 some place and he called me and said Pastor Mark,
45:22 I am in the villages we want to hold these
45:25 massive evangelistic meeting, we need
45:27 some funds. And I called ASI and ASI said,
45:32 we have some extra funding we have found
45:34 and right now you are funding over
45:37 one thousand fifty lay evangelistic meetings
45:41 that will accommodate this fall and a hundred
45:43 and seventy six meetings in Africa.
45:45 If you want to go you can watch,
45:48 but the lay people of Africa will preach,
45:51 in one sentence make an appeal Brother
45:54 Reginald to this group. I like to make an appeal
45:59 to ASI and to everyone who is here today,
46:03 that this gospel will be preached to every nation,
46:08 and tongue, and kindred and people then shall
46:11 the end come. Amen. So, I like to appeal that
46:14 all of us need to unite and work together
46:18 to spread this gospel and tell everyone
46:21 and tell them now Jesus will come
46:23 in this generation. The book of Acts being
46:25 repeated in Africa amen, amen, amen.
46:35 Great Controversy, page 612, Ellen White writes
46:39 there that the work of God is not to be finished
46:42 with less manifestation of the spirit of God
46:44 than in begin in apostolic times. Amen.
46:46 You have just heard testimony with that spirit
46:48 of God is moving on that continent of Africa
46:51 in a very powerful way. And He is moving all
46:52 around the world wouldn't you agree? Amen.
46:56 I want to just draw your attention to several
46:57 things and first of all I want you to know as
47:00 we come to appeal with this offering.
47:02 I want you to begin silently praying
47:04 while I'm talking about what you're gonna
47:06 write down on this envelop,
47:08 what you're gonna write on the check that
47:10 you are getting ready to insert in this envelop.
47:12 By the way this envelop should have been
47:13 on your seat, if you do not have one
47:15 of these envelops, I want you to,
47:17 to raise your hand, we want to get this
47:19 envelop into your hands. There are some people
47:21 that do not have envelops, so we've got
47:22 someone around that has some extra envelops
47:24 please pass those there. We'll have our
47:26 offering people coming up in a just moment
47:28 but you need an envelop, if you don't
47:30 have one, turn to someone that might have
47:32 one close to you. I just want to point out
47:36 a couple of things while you're praying silently
47:38 Lord what would you have me to write down
47:40 on this envelop, what would you have me
47:41 to put on that check write by dollar sign.
47:45 I just want to point out, you know this book
47:48 over here that you saw Kimberly pickup right
47:51 here the, the book in Chinese,
47:54 the Desire of Ages. You know that for $12,
47:59 you will be able to put a set of those books
48:02 into the hands of a colporteur into a
48:04 public library, you for, $240 can put 20 sets
48:10 of those out there in China,
48:12 I want you to note that $240. You heard
48:15 them talk about DVDs for $75 you can
48:18 put up DVD player and a full DVD with all our
48:21 sermon notes into the hands of a lay pastor.
48:24 Just 10 of those, 10 of those DVDs
48:26 and empower ten lay pastors that's $750.
48:30 You heard them talk about picture rolls,
48:32 you heard Pastor Reginald talk about picture rolls,
48:35 20 bucks, $20 will put a picture roll and
48:39 the full set of sermon materials in the hands
48:41 of the lay evangelists. You can empower fifty
48:45 lay evangelist with picture roll and materials
48:47 to go out in evangelize and they have meetings
48:50 as many as three times a week when you put
48:51 this in their hands. As many as a hundred people
48:53 come into each site, every one of those if you do
48:58 fifty of them that's a thousand bucks,
48:59 I just want you to note for nineteen hundred
49:02 and ninety dollars, ten dollars less than
49:04 two thousand dollars. You could put those
49:06 multiples and empower just those.
49:08 I just want you to think about how you can
49:10 make a difference with your checkbook
49:12 this morning. Now I just want to tell
49:15 you a little story. In the great world war that
49:20 took place last century on the continent
49:22 of Europe the major powers were bombing
49:25 each other, trying to knock out there industrial
49:27 capability to fight the war. This story took place
49:31 in the city of London, little girl maybe
49:34 3, 4 years old their family would have to run
49:36 down into the bomb shelter every now
49:38 you could hear the tremendous explosions
49:39 all around then one night down the bomb shelter
49:42 the lights went off and it was totally
49:45 and completely dark in that place.
49:48 And this little voice, so this little girl
49:50 cried out somebody like the dark,
49:52 somebody like the dark, would you agree
49:55 with me that our world is a dark place today?
49:58 You have the opportunity ASI members, lay people
50:01 all around have the opportunity to
50:02 light the dark, you have the ability with your
50:05 offering this morning to empower the lighting
50:07 of our entire world with people who are willing
50:09 to go to do it. I wanna ask you in your offering
50:11 this morning to consider what you do with your
50:13 own life and I want you to consider what
50:14 you're gonna do as you put something on this
50:16 envelop. Now, I want you to just a few words,
50:20 kneel where you are with me as we pray,
50:22 as the offering is about to be taken,
50:23 I want you to kneel with me if you would.
50:24 We're gonna ask God to bless
50:26 this offering in a very special way.
50:32 God in heaven, you have told us through your
50:37 servant that the work on this world to bring
50:41 the gospel to everyone, so that you can come
50:44 again will not be finished with less of a
50:46 manifestation of your power and your spirit
50:48 than it began with your apostles.
50:51 And Lord we pray that as we see the evidences
50:54 of that beginning to happen around our world,
50:56 that Lord you will help us all, to recommit our
50:58 lives again today to light this world for you
51:02 with our lives, with our checkbooks,
51:04 with our influence with everything we've got,
51:06 bless everyone hear as they decide
51:08 what they're gonna give this morning
51:09 I pray in Jesus name, amen.
51:24 There is a candle in every soul
51:31 Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
51:39 There is a Spirit who brings the fire.
51:46 Well, you heard the tremendous appeals
51:48 and you've heard the testimonies
51:50 of what is happening around the world
51:53 incredible story as I've talked to Pastor Paul,
51:55 I have interviewed him. Incredible stories
51:57 of what God is doing to lead and guide
52:00 and direct and today this is your opportunity,
52:03 so we're praying that you will give as the
52:05 Holy Spirit impresses you to help projects
52:07 around the world, to help hasten the soon
52:10 coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
52:12 You can write to the address that's on your
52:14 screen and the address is ASI Ministries,
52:17 2501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring,
52:20 MD, 20904. And so we just ask you as the
52:26 Holy Spirit impressing to help and so Lord
52:30 in fact say a prayer, Lord, what would
52:31 you have me to do to help this great
52:34 cause getting the gospel literally unto all
52:37 the world. God is blessing 3ABN and
52:40 I was thankful to be partnering with ASI
52:43 and showing these programs around the world
52:46 and those of you at home while you're watching,
52:48 just let ASI no write to them and say we watch
52:51 the ASI programs on 3ABN and we wanna do
52:54 our part to join with you to get the gospel
52:57 into all the world, thank you and God bless you.
52:59 So carry your candle, run to the darkness
53:04 Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn
53:11 And hold out your candle for all to see it
53:18 Take your candle, and go light your world
53:25 Take your candle, and go light your world
53:33 'Cause we are a family whose hearts are amazing
53:41 So lets raise our candles and light up the sky
53:47 Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus
53:54 Make us a beacon in the darkest times
54:01 Carry your candle, run to the darkness
54:08 Seek out the helpless, deceived and poor
54:14 Hold out your candle for all to see it
54:21 Take your candle, and go light your world
54:28 Take your candle, and go light your world
54:47 Go light your world.
