00:01 Hey, campers, welcome to Bible Gems.
00:02 Auntie Linda has a very special story
00:04 for us today, isn't that right, Julie?
00:08 Julie!
00:09 Oh, hang on, I'm coming, just let me...
00:12 Here we go. Here we go.
00:16 What are you wearing?
00:17 Oh, this?
00:19 I heard we're gonna be talking about
00:21 how God protected baby Moses.
00:24 So you wrapped yourself in bubble wrap?
00:26 It's a scary world out there, Tiara, but don't worry,
00:30 I brought some for you too.
00:31 Here we go. You did?
00:33 I've got it right here, this is your helmet.
00:34 Oh, okay, okay.
00:36 Just hold this right there, wrap it.
00:39 Actually I really don't think this is necessary.
00:41 And now we can't get hurt.
00:44 Bible Gems is up next.
00:46 Let's go! Wow!
00:50 Are you okay? Julie!
01:15 Ooh!
01:18 Wow!
01:21 What do you have? That's a pretty basket.
01:24 Yeah. Yeah.
01:26 Auntie Linda, we found the gems.
01:27 Uncle Aron, Uncle Aron. We found the gems.
01:31 Oh, you guys found something?
01:32 Yes. The Bible Gem?
01:36 Let's open it up. All right.
01:39 Wow, there it is.
01:44 The most precious gem of all, scriptures.
01:46 Wow.
01:48 What does it say? What does it say?
01:49 What is our gem today?
01:51 Well today, we're gonna learn about.
01:53 I can't read that, Uncle Aron, what is that?
01:55 Good thing I can read it.
01:57 We're gonna learn a story today,
01:58 boys and girls, about a baby named Moses,
02:03 but before we do that
02:04 we have our memory verse song today.
02:07 Today it is Hebrews 10:35 and 38.
02:13 Can you say, that boys and girls?
02:16 Hebrews 10:38 and 35.
02:21 Yes, we do 38 first.
02:23 Now the just shall Live by faith
02:28 Now the just shall Live by faith
02:32 Cast not away your confidence
02:37 For the just shall Live by faith
02:41 Hebrews 10:38 and 35
02:46 Great job, I love that gem.
02:51 That's exciting. Yes.
02:53 And that's gonna lead into an exciting story
02:55 that we have today, Baby Moses.
02:59 Oh, I love that story.
03:01 You do, Auntie Linda? Yes, I love it.
03:03 How about you take it away for us.
03:05 All right.
03:06 Pretend that you're back
03:09 in Egypt in the palace.
03:13 I don't like it, there's just too many
03:16 of those Hebrews around here.
03:18 Oh, yes, yes your honor but, but what can we do about it.
03:22 Well, we're going to have to do something.
03:23 Why does nobody want to do about this.
03:25 We've got to do something.
03:26 Magicians, we've got to get rid of them,
03:28 there's too many people.
03:31 Well, but, I don't know if we could, we could.
03:34 I know, said Pharaoh, "We will make them work."
03:39 Why?
03:41 They have the best of the land, they have everything.
03:43 We'll make them our slaves.
03:45 Yes, but, but Joseph is the one.
03:47 I do not know Joseph.
03:50 I do not know these Hebrews.
03:53 From now on, they will be my slaves.
03:56 So it became very difficult for them.
04:00 They had to go out and work really hard
04:02 and get no money for it.
04:04 They only got a little bit of food
04:07 and it was so hard on them and they'd work
04:10 and they'd work until morning, until night.
04:13 And then, one day Pharaoh said,
04:16 there are too, still too many Hebrews.
04:20 We must do something else.
04:23 Well, what can we do, Pharaoh?
04:27 I know what we will do.
04:29 We're gonna get rid of all the little baby boys.
04:32 What do you mean?
04:34 We will throw them in the Nile River.
04:37 Every baby boy that we get, two years and younger,
04:41 we're just gonna throw them in the river
04:43 and let the crocodiles eat them.
04:47 That's what we'll do.
04:50 But when all the Hebrews heard about it,
04:53 they were like, oh, no, what will we do.
04:58 In one home there was a little baby
05:02 that had been born and this little baby
05:06 was the cutest little baby
05:08 and it was so healthy and it loved to smile
05:13 and his mother Jochebed held him close and she said,
05:17 "I believe this baby is God's baby,
05:21 it is not going to be thrown to the crocodiles.
05:25 Something, I've got to do something."
05:28 And she had a lot of faith even though
05:31 everything looked really bad,
05:32 she had a lot of faith and she thought
05:34 what should I do.
05:36 And so she got some bulrushes
05:39 and she made a basket and she made it all nice,
05:43 and she had a lid that she had for it,
05:46 and Miriam said, "What're you gonna do, Mother?
05:48 What're you gonna do?
05:50 And she said,
05:51 "We are going to hide our baby."
05:54 He cries all the time and quickly Miriam
05:57 looked out to see if the soldiers were coming,
06:00 and all of a sudden she came back and she said,
06:02 "Hurry, hurry the soldiers are coming.
06:04 They're coming straight for our house."
06:06 And they tucked little Moses underneath the bed
06:10 and they the bedding and they put it there
06:13 and the soldiers came in.
06:21 I guess there's nothing here. All right, let's go.
06:25 Mother said, "It's time, we have got to hide our baby.
06:30 Now when the soldiers are gone,
06:32 we're going to put Moses in this little basket
06:35 and then we are going to carry it to the river,
06:38 and we're going to put him in the river."
06:41 Oh, no!
06:43 They were gonna put him in the river,
06:44 and so they put the baby in the basket
06:49 and they looked this way and that way.
06:53 And they looked.
06:55 All clear, come on Miriam.
06:57 And they walked and they walked
06:59 and then they came to the river
07:01 and they looked this way and that,
07:03 there were some bulrushes and mother hooked the lid up,
07:06 put the lid up and said, shh,
07:09 be quiet little baby, I love you.
07:12 And she put him in the bulrushes.
07:15 And then she said, "Miriam,
07:16 you hide over there and make sure he's okay."
07:19 And the water was going this way and that,
07:22 just rocking the little baby boat
07:25 and Moses went to sleep.
07:29 But all at once somebody was coming.
07:33 Who was it?
07:35 It was the princess, and the princess came forward.
07:40 What did she look like?
07:41 She looked just like this, and the princess,
07:44 something like this.
07:46 And the princess came forward and she looked this way
07:50 and she looked this way and all of a sudden she said,
07:55 "Bring me the basket.
07:57 There's a basket over there, I want to see what it is."
08:00 And so, she went and she got the basket
08:05 and it was brought to her and she went...
08:08 Oh, there's a baby.
08:11 And then she said,
08:13 "I'm going to keep him for myself,"
08:16 and she said.
08:18 Miriam heard about it and she said,
08:22 "Oh, oh, would you like a maid
08:24 to take care of your little baby for you.
08:26 I know one and I can go find it."
08:29 Go find her.
08:31 And so, Miriam ran as fast as she could.
08:34 Can you run fast?
08:36 Could you keep?
08:37 She ran as fast as she could Mother, Mother.
08:40 Call Mother.
08:41 Mother, Mother, come quick
08:44 and she came and then mother said,
08:49 "Would you like a nurse maid for your baby?"
08:52 And she said, "Yes, I would like one."
08:56 And then she told her that to take care of the baby
09:00 and she would pay her to take care of the baby.
09:04 And so the princess went on her way
09:06 and mother walked back up the path.
09:09 They didn't have to watch about the soldiers
09:11 because she had put a little thing on the baby
09:14 that said, that is, belongs to the princess
09:16 and so they just walked and walked.
09:19 And can you imagine one of the big soldiers
09:21 coming up and said,
09:23 "Hey, there's a baby, let me have it."
09:26 And the mother going,
09:28 "This baby belongs to the princess.
09:30 I'm just taking care of it."
09:33 "Oh, oh, oh sorry, all right,
09:35 the princess, okay, come on, men, let's go."
09:39 And no more did they have to hide.
09:40 The baby could cry as loud as he wanted.
09:45 Mother took time and she took the scriptures
09:49 and she opened them up and she read to Moses
09:52 as he grew bigger and bigger and bigger
09:56 and Moses loved to sit at mother
10:00 and father's feet to learn about the scriptures
10:03 and as Moses did, he become,
10:07 more and more he loved God.
10:09 At last he was like 12 years old
10:12 about there and mom, mother took him
10:15 and she took him to the palace
10:18 and then the princess saw him and she said oh,
10:22 he's a beautiful boy and she took
10:25 and gave him his own bedroom.
10:27 He had everything he wanted.
10:29 He had jewels and gold and silver,
10:32 but he had the best gem of all because
10:35 he had God in his heart and he never forgot God.
10:39 And they tried to teach him about their gods,
10:41 but he was always like,
10:43 no, I'm gonna serve my God in my heart.
10:47 And he got older and older and one day he just,
10:52 he saw the Hebrews and he saw
10:53 how they were treating them and he went out
10:56 and there as he went out into the field
10:58 there was one with a great big whip
11:01 and all of a sudden he went whack.
11:03 Woah!
11:05 And the Hebrew went, I'll work harder, Master,
11:10 I'll work harder, Master, I'll work harder.
11:12 You sure will and he beat him.
11:16 And Moses was so angry, and at this point Moses,
11:20 this time Moses was a strong man
11:23 and he came over and he grabbed that Egyptian
11:26 and he said, you'll leave him alone.
11:28 And then he took him out and he crossed over in a bush
11:31 or something and he did a terrible thing,
11:34 he killed him and then he didn't,
11:39 he thought oh no, the princess won't like this,
11:41 the Pharaoh won't like this, I better cover it up.
11:43 So he got down and he covered him all up
11:45 with the sand and everything.
11:47 Can we cover our sins? No.
11:50 He had him all covered up.
11:52 The next day he came out,
11:54 he was glad because he had done
11:56 something good to help his people.
11:58 And as he came out there was this time,
12:01 there was two Hebrews fighting and they were rassling
12:06 and they were probably
12:07 about the size of these two and let's see,
12:09 they were rassling together.
12:11 Let's see how they do, they were rassling and rassling
12:15 and they were rassling and all of a sudden,
12:19 Moses came over and he said,
12:21 "Why are you fighting amongst yourselves?"
12:24 And do you know what they said?
12:27 Why, who are you to rule over us,
12:30 we know what you did.
12:32 And then he realized what he'd done.
12:34 Oh no, all Egypt must know what I did,
12:37 I've got to get out of here,
12:39 I've got to do whatever, I can't stay here anymore.
12:42 And so he looked this way
12:44 and that way and he ran and ran and ran.
12:46 Can you run? We gotta run fast.
12:48 He ran and ran and ran and ran and ran.
12:52 Ran away.
12:54 Can we help,
12:55 can we take charge of things ourselves
12:57 or should we wait for God to do them?
13:01 Wait for God. Wait for God.
13:02 He has a plan for each one of us
13:06 because He loves us so much.
13:10 Wow. Wow.
13:12 That was quite a story, wasn't it?
13:14 That was amazing and you told it so well.
13:16 You guys, did you feel like you were right in the story?
13:19 Yeah.
13:20 Yeah, right there is baby Moses was going down the river,
13:23 not knowing
13:25 what was going to happen to him.
13:26 Isn't God so amazing,
13:28 how he helped baby Moses and he had,
13:31 he knew all of that was coming
13:33 and it wasn't a surprise to God.
13:34 Remember, boys and girls,
13:35 to search the scriptures and find your gem.
13:40 See you next time on Bible Gems.
13:43 Bye. Bye.
