00:14 Hello and welcome to "His Words are Life."
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer and today we'll be reading
00:19 together from the Book of Ezekiel,
00:21 but let's pray first.
00:24 Dear Heavenly Father,
00:26 thank You for this opportunity to sit in Your presence
00:29 and to hear Your words.
00:31 Please speak to us that these words
00:33 may make a change in us that enables us
00:36 to be more useful to You
00:39 and to be a fruit to Your glory.
00:41 We love You so much and thank You for loving us. Amen.
00:45 Reading in Ezekiel Chapter 39 starting with verse 15
00:49 and this is the King James Version.
00:53 "And the passengers that pass through the land,
00:56 when any seeth a man's bone,
00:58 then shall he set up a sign by it,
01:00 till the buriers have buried it
01:02 in the valley of Hamongog.
01:04 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah.
01:08 Thus shall they cleanse the land.
01:11 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God,
01:14 Speak unto every feathered fowl,
01:17 and to every beast of the field,
01:19 Assemble yourselves, and come,
01:22 gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice
01:25 and I do sacrifice for you,
01:27 even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel,
01:30 that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
01:32 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty,
01:34 and drink the blood of the princes of the earth,
01:36 of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks,
01:40 all of them fatlings of Bashan.
01:43 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full,
01:45 and drink blood till ye be drunken,
01:47 of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
01:51 Thus ye shall be filled at my table
01:54 with horses and chariots, with mighty men,
01:56 and with all men of war, saith the Lord God.
02:00 And I will set my glory among the heathen,
02:03 and all the heathen shall see my judgment
02:06 that I have executed, and my hand
02:09 that I have laid upon them.
02:11 So the house of Israel shall know
02:13 that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward.
02:19 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel
02:22 went into captivity for their iniquity,
02:25 because they trespassed against me,
02:27 therefore hid I my face from them,
02:29 and gave them into the hand of their enemies,
02:32 so fell they all by the sword.
02:35 According to their uncleanness
02:37 and according to their transgressions
02:40 have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
02:44 Therefore thus saith the Lord God,
02:46 Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob,
02:50 and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel,
02:55 and will be jealous for my holy name,
02:58 After that they have borne their shame,
03:01 and all their trespasses whereby
03:03 they have trespassed against me,
03:05 when they dwelt safely in their land,
03:07 and none made them afraid.
03:09 When I have brought them again from the people,
03:11 and gathered them out of their enemie's lands,
03:14 and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations,
03:18 Then shall they know that I am the Lord their God,
03:22 which caused them to be led
03:23 into captivity among the heathen,
03:26 but I have gathered them unto their own land,
03:29 and have left none of them any more there.
03:33 Neither will I hide my face any more from them,
03:37 for I have poured out my spirit upon
03:39 the house of Israel, saith the Lord God."
03:43 Continuing Ezekiel, Chapter 40
03:45 and this is the King James Version.
03:48 "In the fifth and twentieth year of our captivity,
03:51 in the beginning of the year,
03:53 in the tenth day of the month,
03:55 in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten,
03:59 in the selfsame day the hand of the Lord was upon me,
04:02 and brought me thither.
04:04 In the visions of God brought
04:07 he me into the land of Israel,
04:09 and set me upon a very high mountain,
04:12 by which was as the frame of a city on the south.
04:16 And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man,
04:19 whose appearance was like the appearance of brass,
04:22 with a line of flax in his hand,
04:24 and a measuring reed, and he stood in the gate.
04:28 And the man said unto me,
04:30 Son of man, behold with thine eyes,
04:33 and hear with thine ears,
04:34 and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee,
04:38 for to the intent that I might shew them
04:41 unto thee art thou brought hither,
04:44 declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.
04:48 And behold a wall on the outside
04:51 of the house round about,
04:53 and in the man's hand a measuring
04:55 reed of six cubits long by the cubit
04:58 and an hand breadth,
05:00 so he measured the breadth of the building,
05:03 one reed, and the height, one reed.
05:07 Then came he unto the gate which looketh
05:10 toward the east, and went up the stairs thereof,
05:12 and measured the threshold of the gate,
05:14 which was one reed broad,
05:17 and the other threshold of the gate,
05:18 which was one reed broad.
05:21 And every little chamber was one reed long,
05:24 and one reed broad,
05:27 and between the little chambers were five cubits,
05:31 and the threshold of the gate
05:33 by the porch of the gate within was one reed.
05:37 He measured also the porch of the gate within, one reed,
05:41 Then measured he the porch of the gate,
05:44 eight cubits, and the posts thereof,
05:47 two cubits, and the porch of the gate was inward.
05:51 And the little chambers of the gate
05:53 eastward were three on this side,
05:55 and three on that side,
05:57 they three were of one measure,
06:00 and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.
06:04 And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate,
06:06 ten cubits, and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.
06:10 The space also before the little chambers
06:12 was one cubit on this side,
06:14 and the space was one cubit on that side,
06:16 and the little chambers were six cubits on this side,
06:20 and six cubits on that side.
06:23 He measured then the gate
06:24 from the roof of one little chamber
06:26 to the roof of another,
06:27 the breadth was five and twenty cubits,
06:30 door against door.
06:31 He made also posts of threescore cubits,
06:34 even unto the post of the court round about the gate.
06:37 And from the face of the gate of the entrance
06:39 unto the face of the porch
06:40 of the inner gate were fifty cubits.
06:43 And there were narrow windows to the little chambers,
06:46 and to their posts within the gate round about,
06:48 and likewise to the arches,
06:50 and windows were round about inward,
06:52 and upon each post were palm trees.
06:56 Then brought he me into the outward court,
06:59 and, lo, there were chambers,
07:01 and a pavement made for the court round about,
07:05 thirty chambers were upon the pavement.
07:08 And the pavement by the side of the gates
07:10 over against the length of the gates
07:12 was the lower pavement.
07:14 Then he measured the breadth
07:15 from the forefront of the lower gate
07:18 unto the forefront of the inner court without,
07:20 an hundred cubits eastward and northward.
07:24 And the gate of the outward court
07:26 that looked toward the north,
07:27 he measured the length thereof,
07:29 and the breadth thereof.
07:30 And the little chambers thereof
07:31 were three on this side and three on that side,
07:34 and the posts thereof and the arches
07:36 thereof were after the measure of the first gate,
07:39 the length thereof was fifty cubits,
07:40 and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
07:42 And their windows, and their arches,
07:44 and their palm trees,
07:46 were after the measure of the gate
07:47 that looketh toward the east,
07:49 and they went up unto it by seven steps,
07:52 and the arches thereof were before them.
07:54 And the gate of the inner court
07:56 was over against the gate toward the north,
07:57 and toward the east, and he measured
07:59 from gate to gate an hundred cubits.
08:02 After that he brought me toward the south,
08:05 and behold a gate toward the south,
08:08 and he measured the posts thereof and the arches
08:10 thereof according to these measures.
08:12 And there were windows in it
08:13 and in the arches thereof round about,
08:15 like those windows, the length was fifty cubits,
08:18 and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
08:20 And there were seven steps to go up to it,
08:21 and the arches thereof were before them,
08:23 and it had palm trees, one on this side,
08:25 and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.
08:29 And there was a gate in the inner court
08:31 toward the south, and he measured
08:32 from gate to gate toward the south an hundred cubits.
08:36 And he brought me to the inner court by the south gate,
08:38 and he measured the south gate
08:40 according to these measures.
08:42 And the little chambers thereof,
08:43 and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof,
08:46 according to these measures,
08:47 and there were windows in it
08:48 and in the arches thereof round about,
08:51 it was fifty cubits long,
08:53 and five and twenty cubits broad.
08:56 And the arches round about
08:57 were five and twenty cubits long,
09:00 and five cubits broad.
09:02 And the arches thereof were toward the utter court,
09:05 and palm trees were upon the posts thereof,
09:09 and the going up to it had eight steps.
09:13 And he brought me into the inner court
09:14 toward the east, and he measured
09:16 the gate according to these measures.
09:17 And the little chambers thereof,
09:19 and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof,
09:22 were according to these measures,
09:23 and there were windows therein
09:25 and in the arches thereof round about,
09:27 it was fifty cubits long,
09:29 and five and twenty cubits broad.
09:32 And the arches thereof were toward the outward court,
09:35 and palm trees were upon the posts thereof,
09:37 on this side, and on that side,
09:39 and the going up to it had eight steps.
09:43 And he brought me to the north gate,
09:46 and measured it according to these measures,
09:48 The little chambers thereof, the posts thereof,
09:51 and the arches thereof,
09:52 and the windows to it round about,
09:54 the length was fifty cubits,
09:55 and the breadth twenty and five cubits.
09:58 And the posts thereof were toward the utter court,
10:01 and palm trees were upon the posts thereof,
10:04 on this side, and on that side,
10:06 and the going up to it had eight steps.
10:10 And the chambers and the entries
10:12 thereof were by the posts of the gates,
10:14 where they washed the burnt offering.
10:17 And in the porch of the gate
10:18 were two tables on this side,
10:20 and two tables on that side,
10:22 to slay thereon the burnt offering
10:24 and the sin offering and the trespass offering.
10:28 And at the side without,
10:30 as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate,
10:33 were two tables, and on the other side,
10:36 there was at the porch of the gate, were two tables.
10:40 Four tables were on this side,
10:41 and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate,
10:44 eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices.
10:48 And the four tables were of hewn stone
10:51 for the burnt offering, of a cubit and an half long,
10:55 and a cubit and an half broad, and one cubit high,
10:59 whereupon also they laid the instruments
11:01 wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
11:06 And within were hooks,
11:08 an hand broad, fastened round about,
11:10 and upon the tables was the flesh of the offering.
11:13 And without the inner gate
11:15 were the chambers of the singers in the inner court,
11:17 which was at the side of the north gate,
11:19 and their prospect was toward the south,
11:22 one at the side of the east gate
11:24 having the prospect toward the north.
11:27 And he said unto me,
11:28 This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south,
11:32 is for the priests,
11:33 the keepers of the charge of the house.
11:36 And the chamber whose prospect
11:38 is toward the north is for the priests,
11:41 the keepers of the charge of the altar,
11:44 these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi,
11:47 which come near to the Lord to minister unto him.
11:52 So he measured the court, an hundred cubits long,
11:55 and an hundred cubits broad, foursquare,
11:58 and the altar that was before the house.
11:59 And he brought me to the porch of the house,
12:02 and measured each post of the porch,
12:04 five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side,
12:07 and the breadth of the gate
12:08 was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.
12:12 The length of the porch was twenty cubits,
12:15 and the breadth eleven cubits,
12:17 and he brought me by the steps whereby they went up to it,
12:21 and there were pillars by the posts,
12:23 one on this side, and another on that side."
12:28 Continuing in Ezekiel, Chapter 41
12:30 and this is the King James Version.
12:33 "Afterward he brought me to the temple,
12:36 and measured the posts,
12:38 six cubits broad on the one side,
12:40 and six cubits broad on the other side,
12:42 which was the breadth of the tabernacle.
12:44 And the breadth of the door was ten cubits,
12:46 and the sides of the door were five cubits
12:48 on the one side, and five cubits on the other side,
12:51 and he measured the length thereof,
12:52 forty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits.
12:56 Then went he inward,
12:57 and measured the post of the door,
12:59 two cubits, and the door, six cubits,
13:02 and the breadth of the door, seven cubits.
13:04 So he measured the length thereof,
13:06 twenty cubits, and the breadth,
13:07 twenty cubits, before the temple,
13:09 and he said unto me,
13:10 This is the most holy place.
13:14 After he measured the wall of the house,
13:16 six cubits, and the breadth of every side chamber,
13:19 four cubits, round about the house on every side.
13:23 And the side chambers were three,
13:25 one over another, and thirty in order,
13:28 and they entered into the wall
13:29 which was of the house
13:31 for the side chambers round about,
13:33 that they might have hold,
13:35 but they had not hold in the wall of the house.
13:38 And there was an enlarging,
13:40 and a winding about still upward to the side chambers,
13:44 for the winding about of the house
13:46 went still upward round about the house,
13:49 therefore the breadth of the house was still upward,
13:52 and so increased from the lowest chamber
13:55 to the highest by the midst.
13:58 I saw also the height of the house round about,
14:01 the foundations of the side chambers
14:03 were a full reed of six great cubits.
14:06 The thickness of the wall,
14:07 which was for the side chamber without,
14:09 was five cubits, and that which was left
14:11 was the place of the side chambers that were within.
14:14 And between the chambers
14:15 was the wideness of twenty cubits
14:18 round about the house on every side.
14:20 And the doors of the side chambers
14:22 were toward the place that was left,
14:24 one door toward the north,
14:25 and another door toward the south,
14:26 and the breadth of the place
14:27 that was left was five cubits round about.
14:31 Now the building that was before the separate place
14:33 at the end toward the west was seventy cubits broad."
