00:15 Hello and welcome to "His Words are Life."
00:17 I'm, Kelly Mowrer, and today we're going to be reading 00:19 together from the Book of Ezekiel, 00:21 but first let's pray. 00:23 Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much 00:25 for Your love and Your care for each of us 00:29 in all the things that we're each going through right now. 00:32 But please help us to set aside 00:35 those cares and those concerns 00:36 for these few minutes to hear Your word. 00:39 Please may these words speak to each of us 00:41 in what You need for us to hear. 00:44 We love You so much and thank You for loving us. Amen. 00:47 We're reading in the Book of Ezekiel, 00:49 Chapter 34 and when we were last together, 00:53 the Lord is speaking to the shepherd's of Israel 00:55 who have not fulfilled their duties 00:58 and fed the sheep. 01:00 Picking up in Ezekiel 34, verse 7 01:04 and this is the King James Version. 01:07 "Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord, 01:11 As I live, saith the Lord God, 01:13 surely because my flock became a prey, 01:16 and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, 01:20 because there was no shepherd, 01:22 neither did my shepherds search for my flock, 01:25 but the shepherds fed themselves, 01:26 and fed not my flock, 01:29 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord, 01:33 Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, 01:35 I am against the shepherds, 01:36 and I will require my flock at their hand, 01:40 and cause them to cease from feeding the flock, 01:43 neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more, 01:46 for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, 01:49 that they may not be meat for them. 01:51 For thus saith the Lord God, Behold, 01:53 I, even I, will both search my sheep, 01:58 and seek them out. 02:00 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day 02:03 that he is among his sheep that are scattered, 02:06 so will I seek out my sheep, 02:09 and will deliver them out of all places 02:11 where they have been scattered 02:12 in the cloudy and dark day. 02:15 Now will bring them out from the people, 02:17 and gather them from the countries, 02:19 and will bring them to their own land, 02:21 and feed them upon the mountains of Israel 02:23 by the rivers, and in all the inhabited 02:26 places of the country. 02:27 I will feed them in a good pasture, 02:30 and upon the high mountains of Israel 02:32 shall their fold be, there shall they lie 02:35 in a good fold, and in a fat pasture 02:39 shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. 02:42 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them 02:45 to lie down, saith the Lord God. 02:47 I will seek that which was lost, 02:50 and bring again that which was driven away, 02:55 and will bind up that which was broken, 02:58 and will strengthen that which was sick, 03:02 but I will destroy the fat and the strong, 03:05 I will feed them with judgment. 03:09 And as for you, O my flock, 03:12 thus saith the Lord God, Behold, 03:15 I judge between cattle and cattle, 03:18 between the rams and the he goats. 03:21 Seemeth it a small thing unto you 03:24 to have eaten up the good pasture, 03:26 but ye must tread down with your feet 03:28 the residue of your pastures? 03:29 And to have drunk of the deep waters, 03:31 but ye must foul the residue with your feet? 03:34 And as for my flock, 03:36 they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet, 03:38 and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet. 03:41 Therefore thus saith the Lord God unto them, 03:45 Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle 03:51 and between the lean cattle. 03:53 Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, 03:56 and pushed all the diseased with your horns, 03:59 till ye have scattered them abroad, 04:01 Therefore will I save my flock, 04:04 and they shall no more be a prey, 04:06 and I will judge between cattle and cattle. 04:09 And I will set up one shepherd over them, 04:12 and he shall feed them, even my servant David, 04:16 he shall feed them, 04:17 and he shall be their shepherd. 04:20 And I the Lord will be their God, 04:22 and my servant David a prince among them, 04:25 I the Lord have spoken it. 04:28 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, 04:32 and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land, 04:36 and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, 04:38 and sleep in the woods. 04:41 And I will make them and the places 04:43 round about my hill a blessing, 04:46 and I will cause the shower to come down in his season, 04:51 there shall be showers of blessing. 04:54 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, 04:57 and the earth shall yield her increase, 04:59 and they shall be safe in their land, 05:01 and shall know that I am the Lord, 05:04 when I have broken the bands of their yoke, 05:07 and delivered them out of the hand 05:09 of those that served themselves of them. 05:13 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, 05:16 neither shall the beast of the land devour them, 05:19 but they shall dwell safely, 05:22 and none shall make them afraid. 05:25 I will raise up for them a plant of renown, 05:28 and they shall be no more consumed 05:30 with hunger in the land, 05:31 neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. 05:34 Thus shall they know that I the Lord their God 05:37 am with them, and that they, 05:39 even the house of Israel, are my people, 05:43 saith the Lord God. 05:45 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, 05:49 are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God." 05:54 Continuing in Ezekiel, Chapter 35, 05:56 and this is the King James Version. 05:59 "Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, 06:01 saying, Son of man, 06:04 set thy face against mount Seir, 06:06 and prophesy against it, And say unto it, 06:09 Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, 06:12 O mount Seir, I am against thee, 06:14 and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, 06:17 and I will make thee most desolate. 06:20 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, 06:22 and thou shalt know that I am the Lord. 06:25 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, 06:29 and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel 06:31 by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, 06:35 in the time that their iniquity had an end, 06:38 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, 06:41 I will prepare thee unto blood, 06:43 and blood shall pursue thee, 06:46 since thou hast not hated blood, 06:49 even blood shall pursue thee. 06:51 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, 06:54 and cut off from it him 06:56 that passeth out and him that returneth. 06:58 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men, 07:01 in thy hills, and in thy valleys, 07:03 and in all thy rivers, shall they fall 07:06 that are slain with the sword. 07:09 I will make thee perpetual desolations, 07:11 and thy cities shall not return, 07:13 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 07:17 Because thou hast said, These two nations 07:19 and these two countries shall be mine, 07:22 and we will possess it, whereas the Lord was there, 07:26 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, 07:29 I will even do according to thine anger, 07:31 and according to thine envy which thou hast used 07:34 out of thy hatred against them, 07:36 and I will make myself known among them, 07:39 when I have judged thee. 07:41 And thou shalt know that I am the Lord, 07:43 and that I have heard all thy blasphemies 07:45 which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, 07:48 saying, They are laid desolate, 07:50 they are given us to consume. 07:53 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, 07:57 and have multiplied your words against me, 07:59 I have heard them. 08:01 Thus saith the Lord God, 08:03 When the whole earth rejoiceth, 08:06 I will make thee desolate. 08:08 As thou didst rejoice 08:10 at the inheritance of the house of Israel, 08:12 because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee, 08:15 thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, 08:18 and all Idumea, even all of it, 08:21 and they shall know that I am the Lord." 08:25 Continuing in Ezekiel, Chapter 36 08:28 and this is the King James Version. 08:31 "Also, thou son of man, 08:33 prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, 08:35 and say, Ye mountains of Israel, 08:38 hear the word of the Lord, Thus saith the Lord God, 08:42 Because the enemy hath said against you, 08:45 Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession, 08:50 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord God, 08:53 Because they have made you desolate, 08:55 and swallowed you up on every side, 08:57 that ye might be a possession 08:59 unto the residue of the heathen, 09:00 and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, 09:03 and are an infamy of the people, 09:05 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, 09:07 hear the word of the Lord God, 09:09 Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, 09:11 and to the hills, to the rivers, 09:13 and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, 09:16 and to the cities that are forsaken, 09:18 which became a prey and derision 09:21 to the residue of the heathen that are round about, 09:24 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, 09:26 Surely in the fire of my jealousy 09:29 have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, 09:33 and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land 09:37 into their possession with the joy of all their heart, 09:39 with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey. 09:44 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, 09:47 and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, 09:49 to the rivers, and to the valleys, 09:52 Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, 09:55 I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, 09:58 because ye have borne the shame of the heathen, 10:01 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, 10:03 I have lifted up mine hand, 10:05 Surely the heathen that are about you, 10:07 they shall bear their shame. 10:10 But ye, O mountains of Israel, 10:11 ye shall shoot forth your branches, 10:13 and yield your fruit to my people of Israel, 10:16 for they are at hand to come. 10:19 For, behold, I am for you, 10:22 and I will turn unto you, 10:24 and ye shall be tilled and sown, 10:27 And I will multiply men upon you, 10:28 all the house of Israel, even all of it, 10:31 and the cities shall be inhabited, 10:33 and the wastes shall be builded, 10:36 And I will multiply upon you man and beast, 10:39 and they shall increase and bear fruit, 10:42 and I will settle you after your old estates, 10:45 and will do better unto you than at your beginnings, 10:49 and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 10:52 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, 10:54 even my people Israel, and they shall possess thee, 10:57 and thou shalt be their inheritance, 10:59 and thou shalt no more henceforth 11:02 bereave them of men. 11:04 Thus saith the Lord God, Because they say unto you, 11:08 Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations, 11:12 Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, 11:15 neither bereave thy nations any more, 11:18 saith the Lord God. 11:19 Neither will I cause men to hear in thee 11:22 the shame of the heathen any more, 11:24 neither shalt thou bear 11:26 the reproach of the people any more, 11:27 neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, 11:31 saith the Lord God. 11:33 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, 11:36 saying, Son of man, 11:37 when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, 11:40 they defiled it by their own way and by their doings, 11:44 their way was before me 11:46 as the uncleanness of a removed woman. 11:49 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them 11:51 for the blood that they had shed upon the land, 11:54 and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it, 11:57 And I scattered them among the heathen, 11:59 and they were dispersed through the countries, 12:02 according to their way and according 12:04 to their doings I judged them. 12:07 And when they entered unto the heathen, 12:09 whither they went, they profaned my holy name, 12:12 when they said to them, 12:13 These are the people of the Lord, 12:14 and are gone forth out of his land. 12:17 But I had pity for mine holy name, 12:21 which the house of Israel had profaned 12:23 among the heathen, whither they went. 12:26 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, 12:29 thus saith the Lord God, I do not this for your sakes, 12:34 O house of Israel, but for mine holy names sake, 12:39 which ye have profaned 12:41 among the heathen, whither ye went. 12:43 And I will sanctify my great name, 12:47 which was profaned among the heathen, 12:49 which ye have profaned in the midst of them, 12:51 and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, 12:54 saith the Lord God, 12:56 when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 13:01 For I will take you from among the heathen, 13:04 and gather you out of all countries, 13:07 and will bring you into your own land. 13:10 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, 13:14 and ye shall be clean, from all your filthiness, 13:17 and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 13:21 A new heart also will I give you, 13:24 and a new spirit will I put within you, 13:27 and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, 13:32 and I will give you an heart of flesh. 13:35 And I will put my spirit within you, 13:38 and cause you to walk in my statutes, 13:41 and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. 13:45 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, 13:48 and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. 13:53 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses, 13:56 and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, 13:59 and lay no famine upon you. 14:01 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, 14:03 and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive 14:05 no more reproach of famine among the heathen. 14:09 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, 14:12 and your doings that were not good, 14:13 and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight 14:15 for your iniquities and for your abominations. 14:17 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord God, 14:21 be it known unto you, be ashamed and confounded 14:24 for your own ways, O house of Israel. 14:27 Thus saith the Lord God, 14:29 In the day that I shall have cleansed you 14:31 from all your iniquities 14:33 I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, 14:37 and the wastes shall be builded." |
