00:15 Hello and welcome back to His Words Are Life.
00:18 I am Kelly Mowrer and today
00:19 we are going to be reading from the book of Isaiah.
00:22 But let's pray together before we start.
00:24 Dear heavenly Father, please come
00:27 and be with us right now in a special way.
00:30 Thank you for this opportunity
00:31 to hear Your word which is light in life.
00:35 Please send Your Holy Spirit to show us the message
00:39 and the meaning that You have for us personally
00:42 in what we will read today.
00:44 We love You so much and thank you
00:45 for loving us, amen.
00:48 Reading in the Book of Isaiah Chapter 15, verse 1,
00:52 this is the King James Version.
00:55 "The burden of Moab.
00:57 Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste,
01:01 and brought to silence,
01:03 because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste,
01:07 and brought to silence, He is gone up in Bajith,
01:11 and to Dibon, the high places, to weep,
01:14 Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba,
01:18 on all their heads shall be baldness,
01:20 and every beard cut off.
01:22 In their streets they shall gird themselves
01:24 with sackcloth, on the tops of their houses,
01:28 and in their streets, every one shall howl,
01:30 weeping abundantly.
01:32 And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh,
01:35 their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz,
01:37 therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out,
01:41 his life shall be grievous unto him.
01:44 My heart shall cry out for Moab,
01:46 his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar,
01:49 an heifer of three years old,
01:51 for by the mounting up of Luhith
01:53 with weeping shall they go it up,
01:57 for in the way of Horonaim
01:59 they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
02:02 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate,
02:05 for the hay is withered away,
02:06 the grass faileth, there is no green thing.
02:09 Therefore the abundance they have gotten,
02:12 and that which they have laid up,
02:14 shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.
02:17 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab,
02:20 the howling thereof unto Eglaim,
02:23 and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.
02:26 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood,
02:28 for I will bring more upon Dimon,
02:31 lions upon him that escapeth of Moab,
02:34 and upon the remnant of the land."
02:36 We're continuing with Isaiah Chapter 16,
02:39 this is the King James Version.
02:43 "Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land
02:45 from Sela to the wilderness,
02:47 unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
02:50 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird
02:53 cast out of the nest,
02:54 so the daughters of Moab
02:56 shall be at the fords of Arnon.
02:59 Take counsel, execute judgment,
03:01 make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday,
03:05 hide the outcasts, bewray not him that wandereth.
03:10 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab,
03:14 be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler,
03:18 for the extortioner is at an end,
03:21 the spoiler ceaseth,
03:23 the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
03:27 And in mercy shall the throne be established,
03:29 and he shall sit upon it in truth
03:32 in the tabernacle of David, judging,
03:34 and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.
03:38 We have heard of the pride of Moab,
03:41 he is very proud, even of his haughtiness,
03:44 and his pride, and his wrath,
03:46 but his lies shall not be so.
03:50 Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab,
03:52 every one shall howl,
03:54 for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn,
03:58 surely they are stricken.
04:00 For the fields of Heshbon languish,
04:02 and the vine of Sibmah,
04:04 the lords of the heathen have broken down
04:06 the principal plants thereof,
04:08 they are come even unto Jazer,
04:10 they wandered through the wilderness,
04:12 her branches are stretched out,
04:14 they are gone over the sea.
04:16 Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer
04:19 the vine of Sibmah,
04:21 I will water thee with my tears,
04:23 O Heshbon, and Elealeh,
04:25 for the shouting for thy summer fruits
04:27 and for thy harvest is fallen.
04:30 And gladness is taken away,
04:32 and joy out of the plentiful field,
04:35 and in the vineyards there shall be no singing,
04:37 neither shall there be shouting,
04:39 the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses,
04:43 I have made their vintage shouting to cease.
04:46 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab,
04:50 and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.
04:54 And it shall come to pass,
04:55 when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place,
04:59 that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray,
05:02 but he shall not prevail.
05:04 This is the word that the Lord hath spoken
05:06 concerning Moab since that time.
05:09 But now the Lord hath spoken,
05:11 saying, within three years,
05:12 as the years of an hireling,
05:14 and the glory of Moab shall be contemned,
05:16 with all that great multitude,
05:19 and the remnant shall be very small and feeble."
05:23 Continuing with Isaiah Chapter 17.
05:27 "The burden of Damascus.
05:30 Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city,
05:33 and it shall be a ruinous heap.
05:36 The cities of Aroer are forsaken,
05:39 they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down,
05:41 and none shall make them afraid.
05:43 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim,
05:46 and the kingdom from Damascus,
05:47 and the remnant of Syria,
05:49 they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel,
05:52 saith the Lord of hosts.
05:54 And in that day it shall come to pass,
05:55 that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin,
05:58 and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
06:03 And it shall be as when the harvestman
06:05 gathereth the corn,
06:06 and reapeth the ears with his arm,
06:10 and it shall be as he that gathereth ears
06:12 in the valley of Rephaim.
06:15 Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it,
06:18 as the shaking of an olive tree,
06:20 two or three berries
06:21 in the top of the uppermost bough,
06:23 four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof,
06:26 saith the Lord God of Israel.
06:29 At that day shall a man look to his Maker,
06:31 and his eyes shall have respect
06:33 to the Holy One of Israel.
06:35 And he shall not look to the altars,
06:38 the work of his hands,
06:40 neither shall respect that which his fingers have made,
06:43 either the groves, or the images.
06:46 In that day shall his strong cities
06:48 be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch,
06:53 which they left because of the children of Israel,
06:55 and there shall be desolation.
06:58 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation,
07:01 and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength,
07:05 therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants,
07:08 and shalt set it with strange slips.
07:12 In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow,
07:14 and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish,
07:17 but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief
07:22 and of desperate sorrow.
07:24 Woe to the multitude of many people,
07:26 which make a noise like the noise of the seas,
07:29 and to the rushing of nations,
07:31 that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters!
07:35 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters,
07:38 but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off,
07:41 and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains
07:44 before the wind, and like a rolling thing
07:46 before the whirlwind.
07:48 And behold at eveningtide trouble,
07:51 and before the morning he is not.
07:54 This is the portion of them that spoil us,
07:58 and the lot of them that rob us."
08:01 Continuing to read from the Book of Isaiah,
08:03 Chapter 18, and this is the King James Version.
08:08 "Woe to the land shadowing with wings,
08:11 which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia,
08:14 that sendeth ambassadors by the sea,
08:16 even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying,
08:20 'Go, ye swift messengers,
08:21 to a nation scattered and peeled,
08:24 to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto,
08:27 a nation meted out and trodden down,
08:29 whose land the rivers have spoiled!'
08:33 All ye inhabitants of the world,
08:35 and dwellers on the earth, see ye,
08:38 when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains,
08:40 and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
08:43 For so the Lord said unto me, I will take my rest,
08:47 and I will consider in my dwelling place
08:49 like a clear heat upon herbs,
08:52 and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
08:55 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect,
08:58 and the sour grape is ripening in the flower,
09:02 he shall both cut off the sprigs
09:04 with pruning hooks, and take away
09:06 and cut down the branches.
09:09 They shall be left together
09:10 unto the fowls of the mountains,
09:12 and to the beasts of the earth,
09:13 and the fowls shall summer upon them,
09:16 and all the beasts of the earth
09:17 shall winter upon them.
09:20 In that time shall the present
09:22 be brought unto the Lord of hosts
09:24 of a people scattered and peeled,
09:27 and from a people terrible
09:29 from their beginning hitherto,
09:31 a nation meted out and trodden under foot,
09:35 whose land the rivers have spoiled,
09:38 to the place of the name of the Lord of hosts,
09:40 the mount Zion."
09:43 Continuing to read Isaiah Chapter 19,
09:45 this is the King James Version.
09:48 "The burden of Egypt.
09:51 Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud,
09:53 and shall come into Egypt,
09:55 and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence,
09:58 and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
10:01 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians,
10:05 and they shall fight every one against his brother,
10:07 and every one against his neighbour,
10:09 city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
10:14 And the spirit of Egypt
10:15 shall fail in the midst thereof,
10:16 and I will destroy the counsel thereof,
10:18 and they shall seek to the idols,
10:21 and to the charmers,
10:22 and to them that have familiar spirits,
10:25 and to the wizards.
10:26 And the Egyptians will I give over
10:28 into the hand of a cruel Lord,
10:30 and a fierce king shall rule over them,
10:32 saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts.
10:35 And the waters shall fail from the sea,
10:37 and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
10:40 And they shall turn the rivers far away,
10:43 and the brooks of defence
10:45 shall be emptied and dried up,
10:47 the reeds and flags shall wither.
10:50 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks,
10:53 and every thing sown by the brooks,
10:55 shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
10:59 The fishers also shall mourn,
11:01 and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament,
11:06 and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
11:11 Moreover they that work in fine flax,
11:14 and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.
11:18 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof,
11:22 all that make sluices and ponds for fish.
11:26 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools,
11:29 the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh
11:31 is become brutish, how say ye unto Pharaoh,
11:36 I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
11:39 Where are they? Where are thy wise men?
11:43 And let them tell thee now,
11:44 and let them know what the Lord of hosts
11:46 hath purposed upon Egypt.
11:50 The princes of Zoan are become fools,
11:52 the princes of Noph are deceived,
11:55 they have also seduced Egypt,
11:57 even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
12:01 The Lord hath mingled
12:02 a perverse spirit in the midst thereof,
12:04 and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof,
12:08 as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
12:12 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt,
12:14 which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
12:19 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women,
12:21 and it shall be afraid and fear
12:23 because of the shaking of the hand
12:25 of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
12:28 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt,
12:31 every one that maketh mention thereof
12:33 shall be afraid in himself,
12:35 because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts,
12:38 which he hath determined against it.
12:41 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt
12:44 speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the Lord of hosts,
12:48 one shall be called, the city of destruction.
12:52 In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord
12:54 in the midst of the land of Egypt,
12:55 and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord.
12:59 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness
13:01 unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt,
13:04 for they shall cry unto the Lord
13:06 because of the oppressors,
13:07 and he shall send them a Saviour,
13:09 and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
13:13 And the Lord shall be known to Egypt,
13:15 and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day,
13:18 and shall do sacrifice and oblation,
13:21 yea, they shall vow a vow
13:23 unto the Lord, and perform it.
13:26 And the Lord shall smite Egypt, he shall smite and heal it,
13:31 and they shall return even to the Lord,
13:33 and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
13:37 In that day shall there be a highway
13:39 out of Egypt to Assyria,
13:41 and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt,
13:44 and the Egyptian into Assyria,
13:46 and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
13:50 In that day shall Israel be the third
13:52 with Egypt and with Assyria,
13:53 even a blessing in the midst of the land,
13:56 Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying,
13:58 'Blessed be Egypt my people,
14:00 and Assyria the work of my hands,
14:03 and Israel mine inheritance.'"
14:06 Continuing with Isaiah Chapter 20.
14:09 "In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod,
14:12 when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,
14:14 and fought against Ashdod, and took it.
14:17 At the same time spake the Lord
14:19 by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying,
14:20 'Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins,
14:24 and put off thy shoe from thy foot.'
14:27 And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.
14:30 And the Lord said, 'Like as my servant
14:33 Isaiah hath walked naked
14:34 and barefoot three years for a sign
14:37 and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia.'"
