00:15 Hello and welcome to His Words Are Life, I'm Kelly Mowrer,
00:18 and thank you for joining with me today to read God's Word. 00:21 Let's pray before we start. 00:23 Dear Father thank you so much for another day where 00:27 we can come apart and sit and hear Your words spoken 00:31 into our hearts. Please give to each one of us the 00:35 personal message that You have for us today. 00:38 We love You so much and thank you for loving us. Amen! 00:42 We are reading today beginning in Proverbs chapter 27, 00:46 verse 8 and this is the King James version. 00:50 As a bird that wondereth from her nest, so is a man 00:55 that wondereth from his place. 00:57 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the 01:02 sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel. 01:05 Thine own friend, and thy fathers friend, forsake not; 01:10 neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy 01:13 calamity: for better is a neighbor that is near then 01:16 a brother far off. 01:18 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may 01:23 answer him that reproacheth me. 01:25 A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself; 01:29 but the simple pass on, and are punished. 01:34 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, 01:37 and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. 01:40 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising 01:44 early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him. 01:47 A continual dropping on a very rainy day and a 01:53 contentious woman are alike. 01:56 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the 01:59 ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself. 02:04 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the 02:08 countenance of his friend. 02:10 Who so keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit 02:14 thereof: so he that waited on his master shall be honored. 02:19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart 02:24 of man to man. 02:28 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of 02:32 man are never satisfied. 02:35 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for 02:38 gold; so is the man to his praise. 02:43 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat 02:48 with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him. 02:52 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, 02:57 and look well to thy herds. 02:59 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure 03:04 to every generation? 03:06 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth 03:09 itself, and the herbs of the mountain are gathered. 03:11 The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the 03:16 price of the field. 03:17 And thou shall have goats milk enough for thy food, for 03:20 the food of the household, and for the maintenance 03:22 for thy maidens. 03:24 Continuing in the book of Proverbs chapter 28, 03:29 and this is the King James version. 03:31 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the 03:36 righteous are bold as a lion. 03:38 For the transgression of a land many are the princes 03:43 thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the 03:47 state thereof shall be prolonged. 03:49 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping 03:54 rain which leaveth no food. 03:56 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such 04:02 as keep the law contend with them. 04:05 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek 04:10 the Lord understand all things. 04:13 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than 04:18 he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. 04:22 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a 04:26 companion of riotous men shameth his father. 04:29 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, 04:34 he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. 04:38 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, 04:43 even his prayer shall be an abomination. 04:45 Whosoever causeth the righteous to go astray in an 04:50 evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: 04:54 but the upright shall have good things in possession. 04:59 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the 05:03 poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. 05:07 When the righteous men do rejoice, there is great 05:10 glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden. 05:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso 05:20 confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. 05:24 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that 05:30 hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. 05:33 As a roaring lion, and a raging bear; so is a wicked 05:38 ruler over the poor people. 05:40 The prince that wanteth understanding is also 05:43 a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness 05:47 shall prolong his days. 05:50 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person 05:53 shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him. 05:57 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that 06:00 is perverse in his ways shall fall at once. 06:04 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: 06:07 but he that followeth after vain persons shall 06:11 have poverty enough. 06:13 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he 06:17 that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. 06:22 To have respect of persons is not good: but for 06:26 a piece of bread that man will transgress. 06:29 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and 06:33 considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. 06:37 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find 06:42 more favor then he that flattereth with the tongue. 06:46 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, 06:50 It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer. 06:56 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife; 07:02 but he that putteth his trust in the lord 07:05 shall be made fat. 07:08 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: 07:11 but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. 07:15 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he 07:19 that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. 07:23 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when 07:26 they perish, the righteous increase. 07:29 Continuing with Proverbs chapter 29 and this is the 07:33 King James version. 07:35 He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, 07:39 shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. 07:43 When the righteous are in authority, the people 07:47 rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. 07:52 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that 07:56 keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance. 08:01 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he 08:05 that receiveth gifts overthroweth it. 08:08 A man that flattereth his neighbor spreadeth 08:12 a net for his feet. 08:15 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: 08:18 but the righteous doth sing and rejoice. 08:23 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: 08:26 but the wicked regardeth not to know it. 08:30 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men 08:35 turn away wrath. 08:37 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether 08:42 he rage or laugh, there is no rest. 08:46 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just 08:50 seek his soul. 08:52 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth 08:58 it in till afterwards. 09:00 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked. 09:06 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: 09:09 the Lord lighteneth both their eyes. 09:12 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, 09:15 his throne shall be established for ever. 09:18 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a Child left 09:24 to himself bringeth his mother to shame. 09:28 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression 09:32 increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. 09:36 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, 09:41 he shall give delight unto thy soul. 09:44 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he 09:50 that keepeth the law, happy is he. 09:53 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though 09:58 he understand he will not answer. 10:00 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? 10:04 There is more hope of a fool than of him. 10:07 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from 10:11 a child shall have him become his son at the length. 10:14 An angry man stirreth up strife, a furious man 10:18 aboundeth in transgression. 10:21 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall 10:25 uphold the humble in spirit. 10:28 Whoso its partner with a thief hateth his own soul: 10:32 he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not. 10:36 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth 10:41 his trust in the Lord shall be safe. 10:45 Many seek the ruler's favor; but every man's judgment 10:49 cometh from the Lord. 10:51 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he 10:54 that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. 10:58 Continuing in the book of Proverbs chapter 30 and this 11:02 is the King James version. 11:04 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the 11:08 prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel 11:12 and U'cal, 11:14 Surely I am more brutish, than any man, and have not 11:16 the understanding of a man. 11:18 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge 11:20 of the holy. 11:22 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? 11:24 Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound 11:28 the waters in a garment? Who hath established all be ends 11:31 of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's 11:34 name, if thou canst tell? 11:37 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them 11:42 that put their trust in him. 11:44 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reproved thee, 11:48 and thou be a found a liar. 11:51 Two things have I require of thee: deny me them 11:55 not before I die: 11:58 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither 12:03 poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: 12:08 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the 12:13 Lord? Or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name 12:17 of my God in vain. 12:19 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse 12:23 thee, and thou be found guilty. 12:25 There is a generation that curseth their father, 12:28 and doth not bless their mother. 12:30 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, 12:33 and yet is not washed from their filthiness. 12:36 There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! 12:40 and their eyelids are lifted up. 12:42 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, 12:46 and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from 12:49 off the earth, and the needy from among men. 12:52 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. 12:56 There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, 13:01 four things say not, it is enough: 13:04 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that 13:08 is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, 13:12 It is enough. 13:14 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to 13:18 obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it 13:21 out, and the young eagles shall eat it. 13:24 There be three things which are too wonderful for me, 13:28 yea, four which I know not: 13:30 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent 13:34 upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; 13:38 and the way of a man with a maid. 13:41 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, 13:44 and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness. 13:49 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four 13:54 which it cannot bear: 13:56 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he 13:59 is filled with meat; 14:01 For an odious woman when she is married; 14:04 and a handmaid that is heir to her mistress. 14:08 There be four things which are little upon the earth, 14:11 but they are exceeding wise: 14:14 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their 14:17 meat in the summer: 14:18 The Conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they 14:21 their houses in the rocks; 14:23 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of 14:27 them by bands; 14:29 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in 14:32 Kings' palaces. 14:34 Thank you for joining with me today. 14:37 Please join me again next time, goodbye! |
