00:15 Hello and welcome back to "His words are life."
00:18 I am Kelly Mowrer and thank you for
00:20 joining with me today to read the Bible
00:22 together, let's pray before we start.
00:25 Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much
00:27 for all of your very many blessing to us.
00:31 Thank you for the blessing of your word
00:33 and for the gift of your Holy Spirit to
00:36 bring these words to life in our hearts,
00:38 please be with us now as we read,
00:40 we love you so much and thank
00:42 you for loving us, amen.
00:45 We're beginning in Psalms chapter 108
00:48 and verse 2, this is the King James Version.
00:52 Awake, psaltery and harp:
00:54 I myself will awake early.
00:57 I will praise thee, O Lord,
00:59 among the people: and I will sing praises
01:01 unto thee among the nations.
01:04 For thy mercy is great above the heavens:
01:06 and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.
01:10 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens:
01:13 and thy glory above all the earth;
01:16 That thy beloved may be delivered:
01:20 save with thy right hand,
01:21 and answer me. God hath spoken
01:25 in his holiness; I will rejoice,
01:28 I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley
01:30 of Succoth. Gilead is mine;
01:32 Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the
01:34 strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
01:39 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast
01:42 out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.
01:46 Who will bring me into the strong city?
01:49 Who will lead me into Edom?
01:51 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off?
01:56 And wilt not thou, O God,
01:57 go forth with our hosts? Give us help from
02:01 trouble: for vain is the help of man.
02:05 Through God we shall do valiantly:
02:09 for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
02:14 Psalms chapter 109, this is the King
02:16 James Version. Hold not thy peace,
02:20 O God of my praise; For the mouth of the
02:24 wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are
02:26 opened against me: they have spoken
02:28 against me with a lying tongue.
02:31 They compassed me about also with words
02:33 of hatred; and fought against me without a
02:36 cause. For my love they are my adversaries:
02:41 but I give myself unto prayer.
02:44 And they have rewarded me evil
02:46 for good, and hatred for my love.
02:50 Set thou a wicked man over him:
02:52 and let Satan stand at his right hand.
02:55 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned:
02:58 and let his prayer become sin.
03:01 Let his days be few; and let another take
03:04 his office. Let his children be fatherless,
03:07 and his wife a widow. Let his children be
03:09 continually vagabonds, and beg:
03:12 let them seek their bread also out of
03:14 their desolate places. Let the extortioner
03:17 catch all that he hath; and let the strangers
03:19 spoil his labor. Let there be none
03:22 to extend mercy unto him:
03:24 neither let there be any favor to his
03:26 fatherless children. Let his posterity be
03:29 cut off; and in the generation following
03:31 let their name be blotted out.
03:34 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered
03:36 with the Lord; and let not the sin
03:37 of his mother be blotted out.
03:39 Let them be before the Lord continually,
03:41 that he may cut off the memory of them
03:43 from the earth. Because that he
03:47 remembered not to show mercy,
03:49 but persecuted the poor and needy man,
03:52 that he might even slay the broken in heart.
03:57 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him:
04:01 as he delighted not in blessing,
04:04 so let it be far from him.
04:07 As he clothed himself with cursing like as
04:09 with his garment, so let it come into
04:12 his bowels like water, and like oil into
04:15 his bones. Let it be unto him as the garment
04:18 which covereth him, and for a girdle
04:21 wherewith he is girded continually.
04:24 Let this be the reward of mine adversaries
04:26 from the Lord, and of them that speak
04:28 evil against my soul. But do thou for me,
04:33 O God the Lord, for thy name's sake:
04:36 because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.
04:40 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded
04:44 within me. I am gone like the shadow
04:47 when it declineth: I am tossed up
04:49 and down as the locust. My knees are weak
04:52 through fasting; and my flesh faileth
04:54 of fatness. I became also a
04:57 reproach unto them: when they looked upon
04:59 me they shaked their heads. Help me,
05:02 O Lord my God: O save me according
05:05 to thy mercy: That they may know
05:09 that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord,
05:13 hast done it. Let them curse,
05:17 but bless thou: when they arise,
05:19 let them be ashamed; but let thy servant
05:22 rejoice. Let mine adversaries be
05:25 clothed with shame, and let them cover
05:27 themselves with their own confusion,
05:29 as with a mantle. I will greatly praise
05:32 the Lord with my mouth; yea,
05:33 I will praise him among the multitude.
05:36 For he shall stand at the right hand
05:38 of the poor, to save him from
05:40 those that condemn his soul.
05:44 We're continuing now with Psalm 110.
05:49 The Lord said unto my Lord,
05:52 Sit thou at my right hand,
05:54 until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
05:58 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength
06:00 out of Zion: rule thou in the midst
06:02 of thine enemies. Thy people shall be
06:05 willing in the day of thy power,
06:08 in the beauties of holiness from the
06:09 womb of the morning: thou hast the dew
06:12 of thy youth. The Lord hath sworn,
06:15 and will not repent, Thou art a priest
06:19 for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
06:22 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike
06:25 through kings in the day of his wrath.
06:28 He shall judge among the heathen,
06:30 he shall fill the places with the dead bodies;
06:32 he shall wound the heads over many countries.
06:36 He shall drink of the brook in the way:
06:39 therefore shall he lift up the head.
06:43 Psalm 111, this is the King James Version.
06:48 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord
06:51 with my whole heart, in the assembly of
06:54 the upright, and in the congregation.
06:56 The works of the Lord are great,
06:59 sought out of all them that have
07:01 pleasure therein. His work is honorable
07:04 and glorious: and his righteousness
07:06 endureth for ever. He hath made his
07:09 wonderful works to be remembered:
07:12 the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
07:16 He hath given meat unto them that fear him:
07:20 he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
07:23 He hath shewed his people the power
07:25 of his works, that he may give
07:27 them the heritage of the heathen.
07:30 The works of his hands are verity and judgment;
07:33 all his commandments are sure.
07:36 They stand fast for ever and ever,
07:38 and are done in truth and uprightness.
07:41 He sent redemption unto his people:
07:44 he hath commanded his covenant for ever:
07:47 holy and reverend is his name.
07:51 The fear of the Lord is the beginning
07:53 of wisdom: a good understanding
07:56 have all they that do his commandments:
08:00 his praise endureth for ever.
08:04 Psalm 112, Praise ye the Lord.
08:08 Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord,
08:11 that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
08:13 His seed shall be mighty upon earth:
08:16 the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
08:19 Wealth and riches shall be in his house:
08:22 and his righteousness endureth for ever.
08:25 Unto the upright there ariseth light
08:27 in the darkness: he is gracious,
08:30 and full of compassion, and righteous.
08:34 A good man sheweth favor,
08:35 and lendeth: he will guide his
08:38 affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be
08:42 moved for ever: the righteous shall
08:44 be in everlasting remembrance.
08:48 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:
08:51 his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
08:54 His heart is established,
08:55 he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire
08:59 upon his enemies. He hath dispersed,
09:03 he hath given to the poor;
09:05 his righteousness endureth for ever;
09:07 his horn shall be exalted with honor.
09:11 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved;
09:14 he shall gnash with his teeth,
09:15 and melt away: the desire of the
09:17 wicked shall perish. Psalm 113,
09:23 Praise ye the Lord. Praise,
09:25 O ye servants of the Lord,
09:27 praise the name of the Lord.
09:29 Blessed be the name of the Lord from
09:31 this time forth and for evermore.
09:33 From the rising of the sun unto the
09:35 going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be
09:38 praised. The Lord is high above all nations,
09:42 and his glory above the heavens.
09:45 Who is like unto the Lord our God,
09:47 who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself
09:51 to behold the things that are in heaven,
09:53 and in the earth! He raiseth up the
09:56 poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy
10:00 out of the dunghill; That he may set
10:02 him with princes, even with the princes
10:04 of his people. He maketh the
10:07 barren woman to keep house,
10:09 and to be a joyful mother of children.
10:12 Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 114,
10:18 When Israel went out of Egypt,
10:20 the house of Jacob from a people of
10:21 strange language; Judah was his
10:24 sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
10:30 The sea saw it, and fled:
10:31 Jordan was driven back. The mountains
10:34 skipped like rams, and the little hills
10:36 like lambs. What ailed thee, O thou sea,
10:39 that thou fleddest? thou Jordan,
10:42 that thou wast driven back?
10:44 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams;
10:47 and ye little hills, like lambs? Tremble,
10:51 thou earth, at the presence of the Lord,
10:54 at the presence of the God of Jacob;
10:57 Which turned the rock into a standing water,
11:02 the flint into a fountain of waters.
11:07 Psalm 115, Not unto us, O Lord,
11:13 not unto us, but unto thy name
11:16 give glory, for thy mercy,
11:19 and for thy truth's sake. Wherefore should
11:23 the heathen say, Where is now their God?
11:27 But our God is in the heavens:
11:29 he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
11:33 Their idols are silver and gold,
11:35 the work of men's hands. They have mouths,
11:38 but they speak not: eyes have they,
11:41 but they see not: They have ears,
11:43 but they hear not: noses have they,
11:45 but they smell not: They have hands,
11:48 but they handle not: feet have they,
11:51 but they walk not: neither speak they
11:54 through their throat. They that make them
11:57 are like unto them; so is every one
11:59 that trusteth in them. O Israel,
12:02 trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and
12:07 their shield. O house of Aaron,
12:10 trust in the Lord: he is their help and
12:12 their shield. Ye that fear the Lord,
12:15 trust in the Lord: he is their help
12:17 and their shield. The Lord hath been
12:20 mindful of us: he will bless us;
12:24 he will bless the house of Israel;
12:26 he will bless the house of Aaron.
12:28 He will bless them that fear the Lord,
12:31 both small and great. The Lord shall increase
12:35 you more and more, you and your children.
12:39 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made
12:42 heaven and earth. The heaven,
12:44 even the heavens, are the Lord's:
12:46 but the earth hath he given to the
12:47 children of men. The dead praise
12:50 not the Lord, neither any that go
12:52 down into silence. But we will bless
12:55 the Lord from this time forth and for
12:58 evermore. Praise the Lord.
13:01 Psalm 116, this is the King James Version.
13:06 I love the Lord, because he hath
13:08 heard my voice and my supplications.
13:12 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,
13:14 therefore will I call upon him as long
13:17 as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me,
13:20 and the pains of hell gat hold upon me:
13:23 I found trouble and sorrow.
13:26 Then called I upon the name of the Lord;
13:28 O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
13:33 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
13:36 yea, our God is merciful.
13:39 The Lord preserveth the simple:
13:42 I was brought low, and he helped me.
13:45 Return unto thy rest, O my soul;
13:48 for the Lord hath dealt bountifully
13:51 with thee. For thou hast delivered my
13:53 soul from death, mine eyes from tears,
13:56 and my feet from falling.
13:59 I will walk before the Lord in the land
14:01 of the living. I believed, therefore
14:04 have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
14:07 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
14:11 What shall I render unto the Lord for
14:12 all his benefits toward me?
14:14 I will take the cup of salvation,
14:17 and call upon the name of the Lord.
14:20 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now
14:22 in the presence of all his people.
14:25 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the
14:27 death of his saints. O Lord,
14:30 truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant,
14:34 and the son of thine handmaid:
14:36 thou hast loosed my bonds.
