00:16 Hello and welcome to "His words are life."
00:18 I am Kelly Mowrer and thank you for 00:19 joining with me today to read from 00:21 the book Psalms. Let's pray before we start. 00:24 Dear Lord, thank you so 00:26 much for this time to sit and hear 00:28 your word and hear the Holy Spirit 00:32 speaking in each of our hearts. 00:35 The specific application that you have for 00:37 what we will read today. Please tune our hearts 00:41 to sing your praise and to hear your voice. 00:44 We love you so much and 00:45 thank you for loving us, amen. 00:48 I'm reading in Psalm 90. This is the King James 00:51 Version and we're beginning with verse 5. 00:54 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; 00:57 they are as a sleep: in the morning they 01:01 are like grass which groweth up. 01:03 In the morning it flourisheth, 01:04 and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, 01:06 and withereth. For we are consumed 01:09 by thine anger, and by thy wrath 01:11 are we troubled. Thou hast set our 01:14 iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the 01:17 light of thy countenance. For all our days are 01:22 passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years 01:27 as a tale that is told. The days of our years 01:30 are threescore years and ten; 01:32 and if by reason of strength they 01:34 be fourscore years, yet is their strength 01:37 labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, 01:41 and we fly away. Who knoweth the 01:44 power of thine anger? Even according to 01:47 thy fear, so is thy wrath. 01:51 So teach us to number our days, 01:53 that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. 01:58 Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee 02:02 concerning thy servants. O satisfy us early with 02:07 thy mercy; that we may rejoice 02:09 and be glad all our days. Make us glad according 02:13 to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, 02:15 and the years wherein we have seen evil. 02:18 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, 02:20 and thy glory unto their children. 02:21 And let the beauty of the Lord our 02:23 God be upon us: and establish thou 02:27 the work of our hands upon us; yea, 02:30 the work of our hands establish thou it. 02:35 Psalm 91. He that dwelleth 02:39 in the secret place of the most High shall 02:42 abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 02:46 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge 02:49 and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 02:54 Surely he shall deliver thee from 02:57 the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome 02:59 pestilence. He shall cover thee 03:02 with his feathers, and under his wings 03:06 shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy 03:09 shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be 03:12 afraid for the terror by night; 03:14 nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 03:18 Nor for the pestilence that 03:19 walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction 03:22 that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall 03:25 at thy side, and ten thousand 03:27 at thy right hand; but it shall not 03:29 come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes 03:33 shalt thou behold and see the reward 03:36 of the wicked. Because thou hast 03:39 made the Lord, which is my refuge, 03:42 even the most High, thy habitation; 03:45 There shall no evil befall thee, 03:47 neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 03:52 For he shall give his angels charge 03:54 over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 03:58 They shall bear thee up in their hands, 04:00 lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 04:04 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: 04:06 the young lion and the dragon shalt 04:08 thou trample under feet. Because he hath 04:12 set his love upon me, therefore will I 04:16 deliver him: I will set him on high, 04:20 because he hath known my name. 04:23 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: 04:27 I will be with him in trouble; 04:29 I will deliver him, and honor him. 04:32 With long life will I satisfy him, 04:35 and show him my salvation. Psalm 92. 04:42 It is a good thing to give thanks unto 04:45 the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, 04:48 o most high: To show forth thy 04:50 lovingkindness in the morning, 04:52 and thy faithfulness every night, 04:55 Upon an instrument of ten strings, 04:57 and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a 04:59 solemn sound. For thou, Lord, 05:02 hast made me glad through thy work: 05:05 I will triumph in the works of thy hands. 05:08 O Lord, how great are thy works! 05:12 And thy thoughts are very deep. 05:14 A brutish man knoweth not; 05:17 neither doth a fool understand this. 05:20 When the wicked spring as the grass, 05:22 and when all the workers of iniquity 05:24 do flourish; it is that they shall be 05:27 destroyed for ever: But thou, Lord, 05:31 art most high for evermore. For, lo, 05:34 thine enemies, O Lord, for, lo, 05:36 thine enemies shall perish; 05:38 all the workers of iniquity shall be 05:40 scattered. But my horn shalt 05:43 thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: 05:46 I shall be anointed with fresh oil. 05:49 Mine eye also shall see my desire 05:51 on mine enemies, and mine ears shall 05:53 hear my desire of the wicked that rise 05:55 up against me. The righteous shall 05:57 flourish like the palm tree: 06:00 he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 06:03 Those that be planted in the house of 06:05 the Lord shall flourish in the courts 06:08 of our God. They shall still bring 06:11 forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat 06:14 and flourishing; To show that the 06:17 Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there 06:21 is no unrighteousness in him. 06:25 Psalm 93 and this the King James Version. 06:29 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; 06:33 the Lord is clothed with strength, 06:35 wherewith he hath girded himself: 06:37 the world also is stablished, 06:39 that it cannot be moved. 06:41 Thy throne is established of old: 06:43 thou art from everlasting. 06:46 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, 06:47 the floods have lifted up their voice; 06:49 the floods lift up their waves. 06:52 The Lord on high is mightier than 06:55 the noise of many waters, yea, 06:57 than the mighty waves of the sea. 07:00 Thy testimonies are very sure: 07:03 holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, forever. 07:08 Psalm 94 and this is the King James Version. 07:13 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; 07:17 O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, 07:20 show thyself. Lift up thyself, 07:23 thou judge of the earth: render a reward 07:26 to the proud. Lord, how long shall the wicked, 07:31 how long shall the wicked triumph? 07:32 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? 07:36 And all the workers of iniquity 07:38 boast themselves? They break in pieces 07:42 thy people, O Lord, and afflict 07:45 thine heritage. They slay the widow 07:48 and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. 07:51 Yet they say, the Lord shall not see, 07:55 neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. 07:59 Understand, ye brutish among the people: 08:01 and ye fools, when will ye be wise? 08:05 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? 08:08 He that formed the eye, shall he not see? 08:12 He that chastiseth the heathen, 08:14 shall not he correct? He that teacheth 08:18 man knowledge, shall not he know? 08:22 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, 08:25 that they are vanity. Blessed is the man 08:29 whom thou chastenest, O Lord, 08:31 and teachest him out of thy law; 08:34 That thou mayest give him rest from 08:35 the days of adversity, until the pit be digged 08:38 for the wicked. For the Lord will not 08:40 cast off his people, neither will he forsake 08:44 his inheritance. But judgment shall 08:46 return unto righteousness: 08:48 and all the upright in heart shall follow it. 08:52 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? 08:56 Or who will stand up for me against the 08:58 workers of iniquity? Unless the Lord 09:01 had been my help, my soul had almost 09:03 dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; 09:09 thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. 09:12 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy 09:15 comforts delight my soul. Shall the throne of 09:20 iniquity have fellowship with thee, 09:22 which frameth mischief by a law? 09:25 They gather themselves together against 09:28 the soul of the righteous, 09:29 and condemn the innocent blood. 09:32 But the Lord is my defense; 09:35 and my God is the rock of my refuge. 09:39 And he shall bring upon them 09:40 their own iniquity, and shall cut them 09:42 off in their own wickedness; yea, 09:46 the Lord our God shall cut them off. 09:50 Psalm 95 and this is the King James Version. 09:54 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: 09:57 let us make a joyful noise to the rock 09:59 of our salvation. Let us come before 10:02 his presence with thanksgiving, 10:03 and make a joyful noise unto him with Psalms. 10:06 For the Lord is a great God, 10:08 and a great King above all Gods. 10:12 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: 10:15 the strength of the hills is his also. 10:19 The sea is his, and he made it: 10:20 and his hands formed the dry land. O come, 10:26 let us worship and bow down: 10:29 let us kneel before the Lord our maker. 10:32 For he is our God; and we are the people 10:36 of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. 10:40 To day if ye will hear his voice, 10:44 harden not your heart, as in the provocation, 10:47 and as in the day of temptation 10:49 in the wilderness: When your fathers 10:51 tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. 10:55 Forty years long was I grieved with 10:57 this generation, and said, It is a people 11:01 that do err in their heart, 11:03 and they have not known my ways: 11:06 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they 11:09 should not enter into my rest. Psalm 96. 11:14 O sing unto the Lord a new song: 11:18 sing unto the Lord, all the earth. 11:20 Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; 11:22 show forth his salvation from day to day. 11:26 Declare his glory among the heathen, 11:28 his wonders among all people. 11:31 For the Lord is great, and greatly 11:33 to be praised: he is to be feared 11:36 above all Gods. For all the Gods of 11:39 the nations are idols: but the Lord made 11:42 the heavens. Honor and majesty 11:45 are before him: strength and beauty 11:48 are in his sanctuary. Give unto the Lord, 11:51 O ye kindreds of the people, 11:54 give unto the Lord glory and strength. 11:57 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: 12:00 bring an offering, and come into his courts. 12:04 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: 12:09 fear before him, all the earth. 12:12 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: 12:15 the world also shall be established 12:17 that it shall not be moved: 12:18 he shall judge the people righteously. 12:20 Let the heavens rejoice, 12:22 and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, 12:25 and the fulness thereof. 12:26 Let the field be joyful, 12:28 and all that is therein: then shall all the 12:31 trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord: 12:33 for he cometh, for he cometh to 12:35 judge the earth: he shall judge the 12:38 world with righteousness, 12:40 and the people with his truth. Psalm 97. 12:45 This is the Kings James Version. 12:47 The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; 12:50 let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. 12:54 Clouds and darkness are round about him: 12:56 righteousness and judgment are the 12:57 habitation of his throne. 13:00 A fire goeth before him, 13:02 and burneth up his enemies round about. 13:04 His lightnings enlightened the world: 13:07 the earth saw, and trembled. 13:09 The hills melted like wax at the presence 13:11 of the Lord, at the presence of 13:13 the Lord of the whole earth. 13:15 The heavens declare his righteousness, 13:18 and all the people see his glory. 13:21 Confounded be all they that serve 13:24 graven images, that boast themselves 13:26 of idols: worship him, all ye Gods. 13:31 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters 13:33 of Judah rejoiced because of thy 13:35 judgments, O Lord. For thou, Lord, 13:38 art high above all the earth: 13:40 thou art exalted far above all Gods. 13:44 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: 13:48 he preserveth the souls of his saints; 13:50 he delivereth them out of the hand 13:51 of the wicked. Light is sown for 13:54 the righteous, and gladness for the 13:56 upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, 13:59 ye righteous; and give thanks at the 14:01 remembrance of his holiness. Psalm 98. 14:07 O sing unto the Lord a new song; 14:09 for he hath done marvelous things: 14:12 his right hand, and his holy arm, 14:14 hath gotten him the victory. 14:17 The Lord hath made known his salvation: 14:18 his righteousness hath he openly shewed 14:21 in the sight of the heathen. 14:22 He hath remembered his mercy and his 14:25 truth toward the house of Israel: 14:27 all the ends of the earth have seen the 14:29 salvation of our God. Make a joyful noise 14:33 unto the Lord, all the earth: 14:35 make a loud noise, 14:36 and rejoice, and sing praise. |
