00:15 Hello, and welcome to His Words are Life.
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer and thank you for joining with me today,
00:20 to read in the book of Psalms together. Let's pray before we
00:22 start. Dear Lord thank you so much that you have always been
00:29 a song in the night for each of us, and that in praising you, we
00:34 can come into your presence. So now as we read these praises,
00:37 of David, be with us so that we may know and hear the lesson
00:43 you have for us in these words. We love you and thank you
00:46 for loving us. Amen. We're beginning in Psalm 22,
00:50 This is the King James Version. To the chief Musician upon
00:56 Aijeleth Shabar, A Psalm of David.
00:58 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far
01:07 from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
01:10 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not;
01:14 and in the night season, and am not silent. But thou art holy,
01:20 O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
01:23 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst
01:28 deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered:
01:31 they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. But I am a worm,
01:36 and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
01:40 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip
01:46 they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the Lord
01:49 that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he
01:52 delighted in him. But thou art he that took me out of the womb:
01:57 thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
02:01 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my
02:06 mother's belly. Be not far from me; for trouble is near;
02:11 For there is none to help. Many bulls have compassed me:
02:16 strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
02:20 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a
02:23 roaring lion. I am poured out like water, and all my bones
02:28 are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted in the
02:32 midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd;
02:37 My tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into
02:41 the dust of death. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of
02:45 the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my
02:50 feet. I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
02:54 They part my garments among them and cast lots upon my
02:59 vesture. But be not thou far from me O Lord: O my strength,
03:05 haste thee to help me. Deliver my soul from the sword,
03:09 my darling from the power of the dog. Save me from the lion's
03:14 mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
03:17 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the
03:22 congregation will I praise thee. Ye that fear the Lord, praise
03:27 him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him,
03:32 all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised
03:37 nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he
03:41 hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
03:46 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation:
03:51 I will pay my vows before them that fear him. The meek shall
03:56 eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him:
04:01 your heart shall live for ever. All the ends of the world shall
04:06 remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the
04:10 nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the
04:14 Lord's: and he is the governor among the nations.
04:17 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship:
04:22 all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him:
04:26 and none can keep alive his own soul. A seed shall serve him;
04:33 it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
04:36 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness
04:40 unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
04:45 Psalm 23. A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd;
04:53 I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
04:58 he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul:
05:04 He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's
05:08 sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
05:13 death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
05:17 thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
05:21 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
05:26 thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
05:31 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my
05:36 life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
05:41 Psalm 24. This is the King James Version.
05:47 A Psalm of David. The earth is the Lord's, and the
05:51 fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
05:55 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon
06:00 the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?
06:04 or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands,
06:10 and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,
06:14 nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the
06:19 Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
06:23 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek
06:28 thy face, O Jacob, Selah. Lift up your heads, O ye gates;
06:34 and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors;
06:38 and the King of glory shall come in. Who is the King of
06:43 glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty
06:48 in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye
06:53 everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
06:57 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of
07:03 glory. Selah. - Psalm 25. A Psalm of David.
07:09 Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God,
07:16 I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies
07:21 triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed:
07:26 let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
07:31 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy
07:37 truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation;
07:41 on thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, thy tender
07:47 mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been
07:50 ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth,
07:56 nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me
08:02 for thy goodness' sake, O Lord. Good and upright is the Lord:
08:07 therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he
08:11 guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
08:15 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such
08:21 as keep his covenant and his testimonies. For thy name's sake
08:27 O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
08:31 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach
08:36 in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease;
08:41 and his seed shall inherit the earth. The secret of the Lord
08:45 is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
08:49 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet
08:55 out of the net. Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me;
08:59 for I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart
09:04 are enlarged: O bring me out of my distresses.
09:07 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins
09:12 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me
09:17 with cruel hatred. O keep my soul, and deliver me:
09:21 Let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
09:25 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
09:31 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
09:36 Psalm 26. A Psalm of David. Judge me O Lord; for I have
09:44 walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord;
09:48 therefore I shall not slide. Examine me, O Lord and prove me;
09:54 try my reins and my heart. For thy lovingkindness is before
09:58 mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. I have not sat with
10:04 vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.
10:07 I have hated the congregation of evildoers; and will not sit
10:11 with the wicked. I will wash mine hands in innocency:
10:15 so will I compass thine altar, O Lord: That I may publish with
10:20 the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.
10:25 Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house,
10:29 and the place where thine honor dwelleth. Gather not my soul
10:34 with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: In whose hands is
10:39 mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. But as for me
10:43 I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful
10:48 unto me. My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations
10:53 will I bless the Lord. Psalm 27.
10:58 And this is the King James Version.
11:00 A Psalm of David. The Lord is my light and my
11:05 salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of
11:10 my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked,
11:15 even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh,
11:19 they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me
11:25 my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me,
11:30 in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired
11:36 of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the
11:41 house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty
11:45 of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.
11:48 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion:
11:54 in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set
11:59 me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above
12:04 mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his
12:08 tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing
12:13 praises unto the Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice
12:17 have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst,
12:23 Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord,
12:28 will I seek. Hide not thy face far from me;
12:32 Put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help;
12:36 leave me not, neither forsake me O God of my salvation.
12:40 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord
12:46 will take me up. Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me
12:51 in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12:54 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies:
12:57 for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe
13:02 out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see
13:06 the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
13:08 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen
13:14 thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
13:18 Psalm 28. This is the King James Version.
13:22 A Psalm of David. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord
13:28 my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me,
13:33 I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear the voice of
13:37 my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up
13:40 my hands toward thy holy oracle. Draw me not away with the wicked
13:44 and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to
13:47 their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.
13:49 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the
13:52 wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of
13:55 their hands; render to them their desert:
13:58 because they regard not the works of the Lord,
14:01 nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them,
14:05 and not build them up. Blessed be the Lord, because he hath
14:09 heard the voice of my supplications.
14:11 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him,
14:16 and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
14:20 and with my song will I praise him. The Lord is their strength,
14:24 and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
14:27 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance:
14:30 feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
14:34 Please join me again next time to continue reading the Psalms
14:38 of God. Goodbye.
