00:17 I'm Kelly Mower and thank you for joining with me to read 00:19 God's Word today. When we were last together we were reading in 00:23 Numbers about the way that God had laid out the order of the 00:26 Camp and where the different tribes were to camp, and 00:28 how the Levites were in charge of the sanctuary, and He's now 00:33 giving some instruction as to how the Sanctuary 00:36 and the Most Holy things are to be moved. As I proceed forward 00:39 just when we were last together we were reading that Aaron and 00:43 his sons were responsible for covering and preparing 00:46 the things within the Most Holy place for the Levites to 00:49 transport them. Before we pick up reading again, 00:52 Let's pray together. 00:53 Dear Jesus, thank you so very much for this opportunity 00:57 to come and to read your Words. Please may we, in these stories 01:01 of things so long ago, find the truth that you would have us to 01:04 hear today to help us to serve You better and to serve 01:08 each other better and to grow closer to You. We love you 01:10 so much. And thank You for loving us. Amen. 01:13 Again we're reading in the book of Numbers Chapter 4, picking up 01:17 with verse 8. And they shall spread upon them a cloth of 01:21 scarlet and cover the same with a covering of badger skins and 01:25 shall put in the stays, thereof. And they shall take a cloth of 01:28 blue and cover the Candlestick of the light and his lamps, 01:32 his tongs and his snuff dishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, 01:35 wherewith they minister unto it; And they shall put it and all 01:39 the vessels thereof within a covering of badgers' skins, 01:42 and shall put it upon a bar. And upon the golden alter they shall 01:49 spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of 01:52 badgers' skins and shall to the staves thereof: 01:55 And they shall take all the instruments of ministry 01:57 wherewith they minister in the sanctuary and put them in a 02:00 cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers' 02:04 skins, and shall put them on a bar: And they shall take away 02:07 the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon: 02:11 And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith 02:15 they minister about it, even the censers, the fleshhooks and the 02:19 shovels, and the basins, all the vessels of the altar; 02:22 and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers' skins 02:26 and put to the staves of it. And when Aaron and his sons 02:30 have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels 02:34 of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that 02:39 the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not 02:43 touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden 02:49 of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation. 02:53 And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, 02:57 pertaineth the oil for the light and the sweet incense, 03:01 and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, 03:04 and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all 03:08 that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels 03:12 thereof. And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, 03:15 saying, Cut ye not off the tribe of the families 03:19 of the Kohathites from among the Levites: But thus do unto them 03:23 that they may live and not die, when they approach unto the most 03:27 holy things. Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint them 03:32 every one to his service and to his burden: But they shall not 03:36 go in to see when the holy things are covered, 03:39 lest they die. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 03:44 take also the sum of the sons of Gershon throughout the houses 03:47 of their fathers, by their families; From thirty years old 03:51 and upward unto fifty years old shalt thou number them; 03:54 all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the 03:57 tabernacle of the congregation. This is the service of the 04:01 families of the Gershonites, to serve and for burdens. 04:05 And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the 04:09 tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering 04:11 of the badgers' skins that is above upon it, and the hanging 04:15 for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, 04:18 and the hangings of the court, the hanging for the door of the 04:20 gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar 04:24 round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their 04:27 service and all that is made for them: so shall they serve. 04:30 At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all 04:33 the service of the sons of the Gershonites, 04:35 in all their burdens, and in all their service: 04:38 and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens. 04:42 This is the service of families of the sons of Gershon 04:46 in the tabernacle of the congregation: 04:48 and their charge shall be under the hand 04:50 of Ithamar, the son of Aaron, the priest. 04:52 As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their 04:56 families by the house of their fathers, from 30 years old and 05:00 upward, even unto 50 years old shalt thou number them, 05:03 everyone that entereth into the service to do the work of the 05:06 tabernacle of the congregation. And this is the charge of their 05:10 their burden according to all their service in the tabernacle 05:12 of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle 05:15 and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof and the sockets 05:18 thereof, and the pillars of the court round about, 05:21 and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, 05:25 with all their instruments, and with all their service: 05:27 and by name ye shall reckon the instruments of the charge 05:31 of their burden. This is the service of the families 05:35 of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, 05:38 in the tabernacle of the congregation, under the hand of 05:41 Ithamar, the son of Aaron, the priest. 05:44 And Moses and Aaron, and the chief of the congregation, 05:47 numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, 05:50 and after the house of their fathers, from 30 years old 05:54 and upward, even unto 50 years old, every one that entereth 05:57 into the service for the work in the tabernacle 06:00 of the congregation. And those that were numbered of them by 06:04 their families, were 2,750. These were they that were 06:10 numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do 06:13 service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses 06:17 and Aaron did number, according to the commandment of the Lord, 06:21 by the hand of Moses. And those that were numbered of the sons 06:25 of Gershon, throughout their families, by the house of their 06:28 fathers, from 30 years old and upward even unto 50 years old, 06:32 everyone that entereth into the service of the work 06:35 in the tabernacle of the congregation, even those 06:38 that were numbered of them throughout their families 06:40 by the house of their fathers, were 2,630. 06:45 These are they that were numbered of the families 06:49 of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the 06:54 tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number 06:57 according to the commandment of the Lord. 06:58 And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of 07:02 Merari, throughout their families, by the house of their 07:05 fathers, from 30 years old and upward, even unto 50 years old, 07:09 every one that entereth into the service for the work in 07:13 the tabernacle of the congregation, even those 07:15 that were numbered of them, after their families, 07:18 were 3,200. These be those that were numbered of the families of 07:24 the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, 07:27 according to the word of the Lord, by the hand of Moses. 07:30 All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses 07:34 and Aaron and the chief of Israel numbered, after their 07:37 families and after the house of their fathers, from 30 years old 07:40 and upward, even unto 50 years old, every one that came to 07:43 do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden, 07:47 in the tabernacle of the congregation. 07:48 Even those that were numbered of them were eight thousand and 07:53 five hundred and fourscore. According to the commandment 07:56 of the Lord, they were numbered by the hand of Moses, every one 08:00 according to his service, and according to his burden. 08:03 Thus were they numbered of him as the Lord commanded Moses. 08:07 We are continuing to read in the book of Numbers, 08:11 Chapter five and this is the King James version. 08:13 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Command the children 08:17 of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, 08:21 and every one that has an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the 08:25 dead: Both male and female shall ye put out, without 08:27 the camp, shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps 08:31 in the midst whereof I dwell. And the children of Israel 08:35 did so, and put them out without the camp: 08:37 as the Lord spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel. 08:41 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children 08:46 of Israel, when a man or woman shall commit any sin that 08:50 men commit, to do a trespass against the Lord and that person 08:54 be guilty; then they shall confess their sin, 08:58 which they have done; and he shall recompense his trespass 09:02 with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part 09:05 thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed. 09:10 But if the man who had no kinsman to recompense 09:14 the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed 09:17 unto the Lord, even to the priest; beside the ram of the 09:21 atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him. 09:24 And every offering of all the holy things of the children 09:28 of Israel, which they bring unto the priest shall be his. 09:32 And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man 09:35 giveth the priest, it shall be his. 09:37 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children 09:41 of Israel, and say unto them, If any man's wife go aside, 09:45 and commit a trespass against him, and a man lie with her 09:49 carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, 09:53 and be kept close, and she be defiled and there be no witness 09:58 against her, neither she be taken with the manner; 10:01 and the spirit of jealousy come upon him and he be jealous 10:05 of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy 10:09 come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not 10:12 defiled: Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, 10:17 and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part 10:20 of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, 10:24 nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering 10:27 of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity 10:31 to remembrance. And the priest shall bring her near, 10:35 and set her before the Lord. And the priest shall take holy water 10:38 in an earthen vessel and of the dust that is in the floor 10:42 of the tabernacle, the priest shall take and put it into 10:45 the water. And the priest shall put the woman before the Lord, 10:49 and uncover the woman's head and put the offering of memorial 10:52 in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: 10:55 and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water 10:59 that causeth the curse. And the priest shall charge her 11:02 by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man 11:05 have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside 11:09 to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, 11:12 be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse. 11:17 But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband 11:21 and if thou be defiled and some man has lain with the beside thy 11:25 husband, then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath 11:28 of cursing and the priest shall say unto the woman, 11:31 The Lord make thee a curse and and oath among thy people, 11:35 when the Lord doth make thy thigh to rot and thy belly 11:38 to swell; And this water that causeth the curse 11:42 shall go into thy bowels to make thy belly to swell and thy thigh 11:45 to rot; and the woman shall say Amen, amen. 11:49 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, 11:52 and he shall blot them out with the bitter water: 11:55 and he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that 11:58 causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse 12:01 shall enter into her and become bitter. Then the priest shall 12:05 take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, 12:07 and shall wave the offering before the Lord, 12:10 and offer it upon the altar: and the priest shall take a handful 12:14 of the offering, even the memorial thereof, 12:16 and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman 12:19 to drink the water. And when he hath made her to drink the water 12:22 then it shall come to pass, that if she be defiled, and have done 12:27 trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the 12:30 curse shall enter into her and become bitter, and her belly 12:34 shall swell and her thigh shall rot, and the woman shall be 12:37 cursed among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, 12:41 but be clean, then she shall be free and shall conceive seed. 12:46 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside 12:50 to another instead of her husband and is defiled; 12:54 or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, 12:57 and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before 13:00 the Lord, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law. 13:05 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman 13:09 shall bear her iniquity. 13:10 We are continuing to read in the book of Numbers, Chapter six, 13:15 King James Version. 13:16 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children 13:21 of Israel and say unto them, When either man or woman 13:24 shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, 13:28 to separate themselves unto the Lord, he shall separate himself 13:32 from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine 13:36 or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink 13:40 any liquor of grapes nor eat moist grapes or dried. 13:43 All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is 13:47 made of the vine tree, from the kernels, even to the husk. 13:50 All the days of the vow of his separation, there shall no razor 13:54 come upon his head until the days be fulfilled, in the which 13:58 he separated himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy 14:02 and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. 14:06 All the days that he separated himself unto the Lord, 14:10 he shall come at no dead body. He shall not make himself 14:14 unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, 14:17 or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration 14:21 of his God is upon his head.
