00:15 Hi and welcome back to His Words Are Life.
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you 00:20 for joining with me today 00:21 to read the Bible together. 00:22 We've been reading about when God sent to Moses 00:26 the instructions for building the earthly sanctuary 00:28 and all of the furnishings and the role of the priest 00:32 and so forth. We're going to pick that up now. 00:34 Before we start, let's pray together. 00:36 Dear Jesus, thank you so much for these words that You have 00:40 sent to us to guide us, and to instruct us, and to teach us. 00:44 Please send Your Holy Spirit now especially as we read 00:47 to give us the lesson that You would have us to hear 00:50 from this message today. 00:52 And thank you that what we are reading about is... is the, 00:57 the pattern, or the example, of what You are doing for us 01:01 right now in the heavenly sanctuary. 01:03 Thank you for going to the mercy seat with our names 01:06 and keeping us continually covered by Your blood. 01:09 Be with us now as we read, and thank you for loving us. 01:12 We love you so much, Amen. 01:14 We are picking up in the book of Leviticus chapter 4 01:18 and starting with verse 32. This is the King James version. 01:20 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it 01:25 a female without blemish. 01:28 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, 01:31 and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill 01:33 the burnt offering. And the priest shall take of 01:36 the blood of the sin offering with his finger, 01:38 and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, 01:41 and shall pour out all of the blood thereof at the bottom 01:44 of the altar: And he shall take away all the fat thereof, 01:48 as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the 01:51 peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, 01:55 according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: 01:57 and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that 02:01 he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him. 02:04 We are continuing now in the book of Leviticus 02:07 with chapter 5, and this is the King James version. 02:10 And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, 02:15 and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; 02:18 if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his inquity. 02:21 Or, if a soul touch any unclean thing, 02:24 whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, 02:27 or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean 02:30 creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; 02:33 he also shall be unclean, and guilty. 02:36 Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness 02:41 it be that a man shall be defiled withal, 02:43 and it be hid from; when he knoweth of it, 02:46 then he shall be guilty. Or if a soul swear, pronouncing 02:51 with his lips to do evil, or to do good, 02:54 whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, 02:56 and if it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, 03:00 then he shall be guilty in one of these. 03:03 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these 03:06 things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that 03:10 thing: And he shall bring his trespass offering 03:13 unto the Lord for his sin which he hath sinned, 03:16 a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, 03:20 for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement 03:24 for him concerning his sin. 03:26 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring 03:30 for his trespass, which he hath committed, 03:32 two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the Lord; 03:35 one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. 03:40 And he shall bring them unto the priest, 03:42 who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, 03:46 and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it 03:49 asunder: And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering 03:54 upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall 03:56 be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin offering. 04:00 And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, 04:02 according to the manner, and the priest shall make an 04:05 atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, 04:08 and it shall be forgiven him. 04:10 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, 04:13 or two young pigeons, then he that has sinned shall bring 04:16 for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour 04:20 for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, 04:23 neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: 04:26 for it is a sin offering. 04:27 Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall 04:30 take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, 04:33 and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings 04:36 made by fire unto the Lord: it is a sin offering. 04:40 And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching 04:44 his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, 04:46 and it shall be forgiven him: 04:49 and the remnant shall be the priest's, as a meat offering. 04:52 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 04:55 If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, 04:59 in the holy things of the Lord; then he shall bring for his 05:03 trespass unto the Lord a ram without blemish 05:06 out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, 05:11 after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass 05:13 offering: And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath 05:16 done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto 05:19 and give it unto the priest: and the priest shall make an 05:23 atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, 05:26 and it shall be forgiven him. 05:28 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are 05:32 forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; 05:35 though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, 05:39 and shall bear his iniquity. 05:41 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the 05:44 flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, 05:47 unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement 05:51 for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist 05:54 it not, and it shall be forgiven him. 05:57 It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed 06:01 against the Lord. 06:03 Continuing to read in Leviticus, 06:05 and this is chapter 6 06:06 in the King James version. 06:07 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 06:11 If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the Lord, 06:15 and lie unto his neighbor in that which was delivered him 06:18 to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, 06:23 or hath deceived his neighbor; Or have found that which was 06:26 lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely, 06:30 in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein: 06:34 Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, 06:38 that he shall restore that which he took violently away, 06:42 or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, 06:45 or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing 06:48 which he found, Or all that about which he hath sworn 06:51 falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, 06:55 and shall add the fifth part more thereto, 06:59 and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, 07:02 in the day of his trespass offering. 07:04 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord, 07:08 a ram without blemish out of the flock, 07:11 with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, 07:14 unto the priest: And the priest shall make an atonement for him 07:18 before the Lord: and it shall be forgiven him for any thing 07:22 of all that he hath done in trespassing therein. 07:25 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 07:28 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, 07:31 This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt 07:34 offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night 07:37 unto the morning, and the fire of the altar 07:40 shall be burning in it. And the priest shall put on 07:43 his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his 07:47 flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed 07:51 with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them 07:53 beside the altar. And he shall put off his garments, 07:57 and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes 08:01 without the camp unto a clean place. 08:04 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; 08:08 it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it 08:12 every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it: 08:15 and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings. 08:19 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; 08:22 it shall never go out. 08:24 And this is the law of the meat offering: the sons of Aaron 08:28 shall offer it before the Lord, before the altar. 08:30 And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the 08:34 meat offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the 08:37 frankincense which is upon the meat offering, 08:39 and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor, 08:43 even a memorial of it, unto the Lord. 08:46 And the remainder thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat: 08:49 with unleavened bread shall it be eaten in the holy place; 08:53 in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation 08:56 they shall eat it. It shall not be baked with leaven. 09:00 I have given it unto them for their portion of my offerings 09:04 made by fire: it is most holy, as is the sin offering, 09:09 and as the trespass offering. 09:11 All the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. 09:16 It shall be a statute forever in your generations 09:19 concerning the offerings of the Lord made by fire: 09:22 every one that toucheth them shall be holy. 09:26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 09:29 This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, 09:31 which they shall offer unto the Lord in the day when he is 09:34 anointed; the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour 09:39 for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning, 09:42 and half thereof at night. 09:44 In a pan it shall be made with oil; and when it is baked, 09:48 thou shalt bring it in: and the baked pieces of the meat 09:51 offering shalt thou offer for a sweet savor unto the Lord. 09:56 And the priest of his sons that is anointed in his stead 10:00 shall offer it: it is a statute for ever unto the Lord: 10:04 it shall be wholly burnt. 10:06 For every meat offering for the priest shall be wholly burnt: 10:10 it shall not be eaten. 10:12 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 10:15 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, 10:18 This is the law of the sin offering: 10:21 In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the 10:24 sin offering be killed before the Lord: it is most holy. 10:28 The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: 10:31 in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the 10:34 tabernacle of the congregation. 10:35 Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy: 10:40 and when there is sprinkled of the blood thereof upon 10:44 any garment, thou shalt wash that whereon it was sprinkled 10:47 in the holy place. But the earthen vessel wherein 10:52 it is sodden shall be broken: and if it be sodden in a 10:55 brazen pot, it shall be both scoured, and rinsed in water. 10:59 All the males among the priests shall eat thereon: 11:02 it is most holy. And no sin offering, whereof 11:07 any of the blood is brought into the tabernacle of the 11:09 congregation to be reconciled withal in the holy place, 11:12 shall be eaten: it shall be burnt in the fire. 11:15 Continuing with Leviticus 11:17 chapter 7, and this is the 11:19 King James version. 11:20 Likewise this is the law of the trespass offering: 11:23 it is most holy. 11:24 In the place where they kill the burnt offering shall they kill 11:27 the trespass offering: and the blood thereof shall he sprinkle 11:30 round about upon the altar. 11:32 And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof; 11:35 the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, 11:38 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, 11:41 which is by the flanks, and the caul that is above the liver, 11:44 with the kidneys, it shall he take away: 11:47 And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering 11:50 made by fire unto the Lord: it is a trespass offering. 11:54 Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: 11:58 it shall be eaten in the holy place: it is most holy. 12:03 As the sin offering is, so is the trespass offering: 12:07 there is one law for them: the priest that maketh atonement 12:10 therewith shall have it. And the priest that offereth any 12:14 man's burnt offering, even the priest shall have to himself 12:17 the skin of the burn offering which he hath offered. 12:20 And all the meat offering that is baked in the oven, 12:23 and all that is dressed in the frying pan, and in the pan, 12:26 shall be the priest's that offereth it. 12:29 And every meat offering, mingled with oil, and dry, 12:33 shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as much as another. 12:37 And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, 12:41 which he shall offer unto the Lord. 12:44 If he offer it for a thanksgiving, 12:47 then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving 12:50 unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers 12:55 anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, 13:00 fried. Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering 13:04 leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving 13:07 of his peace offerings. And of it he shall offer one 13:12 out of the whole oblation for a heave offering unto the Lord, 13:15 and it shall be the priest's that sprinkleth the blood of 13:19 the peace offerings. And the flesh of the sacrifice of his 13:23 peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day 13:26 that it is offered: he shall not leave any of it 13:28 until the morning. But if the sacrifice of his offering 13:32 be a vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten 13:35 the same day that he offereth his sacrifice, 13:37 and on the morrow also the remainder of it shall be eaten: 13:42 But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third 13:45 day shall be burnt with fire. 13:48 And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings 13:51 be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, 13:55 neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: 13:58 it shall be an abomination, and the soul that eateth of it 14:01 shall bear his iniquity. 14:02 And the flesh that toucheth any unclean thing shall not be 14:06 eaten; it shall be burnt with fire and as for the flesh, 14:09 all that be clean shall eat thereof. 14:12 But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace 14:17 offerings that pertain unto the Lord, 14:19 having his uncleanness upon him, 14:20 even that soul shall be cut off from his people. 14:24 Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, 14:27 as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, 14:30 or any abominable unclean thing, 14:31 and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, 14:35 which pertain unto the Lord, 14:36 even that soul shall be cut off from his people. |
