00:16 Hi. Welcome back to His Words Are Life.
00:18 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you 00:20 for being with me today 00:21 to read the Bible. Before we we read together, let's pray. 00:24 Dear Jesus, thank you so much for this time apart 00:28 in Your presence and in Your Word. 00:31 May the words that we will hear today arm us as we go out 00:37 and serve You better, serve each other better. 00:40 May they give us guidance, may they bring us wisdom, 00:44 and may we be different at the end of this time together 00:46 than we are at the beginning. Please send the Holy Spirit 00:49 to guide us into further understanding of the truth 00:53 that we may better love You and show that love to those 00:56 that we meet. Thank you for loving us. Amen. 01:00 When we were last together we were reading in the book 01:02 of Exodus about the building of the sanctuary. 01:05 We are going to pick that up right now. We are in 01:07 chapter 38 starting with verse 9. 01:10 And this is the King James version. 01:12 And he made the court: on the south side southward 01:16 the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, 01:19 a hundred cubits: Their pillars were twenty, 01:22 and their brazen sockets twenty; the hooks of the pillars 01:25 and their fillets were of silver. And for the north side 01:28 their hangings were a hundred cubits, their pillars were 01:31 twenty, and their sockets of brass twenty; 01:32 the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. 01:35 And for the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, 01:38 their pillars ten, and their sockets ten; 01:40 the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver. 01:43 And for the east side eastward fifty cubits. 01:46 The hangings of the one side of the gate were fifteen cubits; 01:49 their pillars three, and their sockets three. 01:51 And for the other side of the court gate, on this hand 01:55 and that hand, were hangings of fifteen cubits; 01:58 their pillars three, and their sockets three. 02:01 All the hangings of the court round about were of fine twined 02:04 linen. And the sockets for the pillars were of brass; 02:08 the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver; 02:11 and the overlaying of their chapiters of silver; 02:14 and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver. 02:17 And the hanging for the gate of the court was needlework, 02:20 of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: 02:23 and twenty cubits was the length, and the height in the 02:28 breadth was five cubits, answerable to the hangings 02:31 of the court. And their pillars were four, and their sockets 02:35 of brass four; their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of 02:38 their chapiters and their fillets of silver. 02:41 And all the pins of the tabernacle, and of the court 02:44 round about were of brass. 02:46 This is the sum of the tabernacle, 02:48 even of the tabernacle of testimony, as it was counted, 02:52 according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the 02:55 Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, son to Aaron the priest. 02:58 And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, 03:01 of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord commanded Moses. 03:05 And with him was Aholiab, son of Ahisamach, 03:09 of the tribe of Dan, an engraver and a cunning workman, 03:13 and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, 03:16 and fine linen. All the gold that was occupied for the work 03:20 in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the 03:23 offering, was twenty and nine talents, 03:26 and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel 03:29 of the sanctuary. And the silver of them that were numbered 03:33 of the congregation was a hundred talents, 03:36 and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen 03:39 shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 03:42 A bekah for every man, that is, half a shekel, 03:45 after the shekel of the sanctuary, for every one that 03:47 went to be numbered, from twenty years old and upward, 03:50 for six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred 03:53 and fifty men. And of the hundred talents of silver 03:56 were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets 03:59 of the veil; a hundred sockets of the hundred talents, 04:02 a talent for a socket. 04:04 And of the thousand seven hundred seventy and five shekels 04:08 he made hooks for the pillars, and overlaid their chapiters, 04:11 and filleted them. And the brass of the offering was 04:14 seventy talents, and two thousand, and four hundred 04:16 shekels. And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the 04:20 tabernacle of the congregation, and the brazen altar, 04:22 and the brazen grate for it, all the vessels of the altar. 04:25 And the sockets of the court round about, and the sockets 04:28 of the court gate, and all the pins of the tabernacle, 04:31 and all the pins of the court round about. 04:34 We are in the book of Exodus chapter 39 starting with verse 1 04:38 and this is the King James version. 04:40 And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made clothes 04:45 of service, to do service in the holy place, 04:47 and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the Lord commanded 04:51 Moses. And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, 04:55 and scarlet, and fine twined linen. 04:57 And they did beat the gold into thin plates, 05:00 and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, 05:04 and in the purple, and in the scarlet, 05:06 and in the fine linen, with cunning work. 05:08 They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: 05:11 by the two edges was it coupled together. 05:14 And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, 05:17 was of the same, according to the work thereof; 05:20 of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; 05:23 as the Lord commanded Moses. 05:26 And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, 05:30 graven, as signets are graven, 05:32 with the names of the children of Israel. 05:35 And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should 05:38 be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; 05:41 as the Lord commanded Moses. 05:43 And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work 05:46 of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, 05:49 and fine twined linen. It was foursquare; 05:53 they made the breastplate double: a span was the length 05:56 thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled. 05:58 And they set in it four rows of stones: 06:01 the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: 06:05 this was the first row. 06:07 And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. 06:10 And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. 06:15 And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: 06:20 they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings. 06:24 And the stones were according to the names of the 06:27 children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, 06:30 like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, 06:35 according to the twelve tribes. 06:38 And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, 06:41 of wreathen work of pure gold. 06:43 And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; 06:45 and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate. 06:48 And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings 06:52 on the ends of the breastplate. 06:53 And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened 06:55 in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces 06:58 of the ephod, before it. 07:00 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends 07:03 of the breastplate, upon the border of it, 07:05 which was on the side of the ephod inward. 07:08 And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the 07:12 two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart 07:15 of it, over against the other coupling thereof, 07:18 above the curious girdle of the ephod. 07:21 And they did bind the breastplate by his rings 07:24 unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, 07:27 that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, 07:30 and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; 07:34 as the Lord commanded Moses. 07:36 And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, 07:40 all of blue. And there was a hole in the midst of the robe, 07:44 as the hole of a habergeon, with a band round about 07:47 the hole, that it should not rend. 07:49 And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of 07:54 blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen. 07:57 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between 08:01 the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, 08:03 round about between the pomegranates; 08:05 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, 08:08 round about the hem of the robe to minister in; 08:10 as the Lord commanded Moses. 08:12 And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, 08:16 and for his sons, A mitre of fine linen, 08:19 and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches 08:22 of fine twined linen, And a girdle of fine twined linen, 08:26 and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; 08:29 as the Lord commanded Moses. 08:30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, 08:34 and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a 08:37 signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. 08:40 And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high 08:44 upon the mitre; as the Lord commanded Moses. 08:47 Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent 08:51 of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel 08:55 did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, 08:57 so did they. And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, 09:02 the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, 09:06 his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets, 09:08 And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, 09:11 and the covering of badgers' skins, and the veil of the 09:13 covering. The ark of the testimony, and the staves 09:16 thereof, and the mercy seat. 09:18 The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the showbread, 09:22 The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, 09:24 even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels 09:27 thereof, and the oil for light. 09:29 And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, 09:32 and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door. 09:35 The brazen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, 09:39 and all his vessels, the laver and his foot. 09:42 The hangings of the court, his pillars and his sockets, 09:46 and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, 09:50 and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, 09:53 for the tent of the congregation. 09:55 The clothes of service to do service in the holy place, 09:58 and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, 10:01 and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office. 10:04 According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, 10:07 so the children of Israel made all the work. 10:11 And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, 10:14 they had done it as the Lord had commanded, 10:17 even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them. 10:20 We are continuing to read 10:22 in the book of Exodus. 10:23 This is chapter 40, and this 10:24 is the King James version. 10:26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 10:28 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the 10:31 tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. 10:33 And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, 10:36 and cover the ark with the veil. 10:38 And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order 10:41 the things that are to be set in order upon it; 10:44 and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, 10:46 and light the lamps thereof. 10:48 And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense 10:51 before the ark of the testimony, 10:52 and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle. 10:55 And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering 10:57 before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the 10:59 congregation. And thou shalt set the laver between the tent 11:03 of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water 11:06 therein. And thou shalt set up the court round about, 11:10 and hang up the hanging at the court gate. 11:12 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, 11:14 and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, 11:16 and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof, 11:19 and it shall be holy. 11:21 And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, 11:23 and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: 11:26 and it shall be an altar most holy. 11:29 And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it. 11:32 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door 11:35 of the tabernacle of the congregation, 11:37 and wash them with water. 11:39 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, 11:41 and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister 11:45 unto Me in the priest's office. 11:47 And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: 11:50 Thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, 11:53 that they may minister unto Me in the priest's office: 11:56 for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood 12:00 throughout their generations. 12:02 Thus did Moses: according to all that the Lord commanded him, 12:06 so did he. And it came to pass in the first month in the second 12:10 year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle 12:14 was reared up. And Moses reared up the tabernacle, 12:17 and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, 12:21 and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars. 12:23 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, 12:26 and put the covering of the tent above upon it; 12:30 as the Lord commanded Moses. 12:32 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, 12:34 and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above 12:38 upon the ark: And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, 12:42 and set up the veil of the covering, and covered the ark 12:45 of the testimony; as the Lord commanded Moses. 12:49 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, 12:52 upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the veil. 12:56 And he set the bread in order upon it before the Lord; 12:58 as the Lord had commanded Moses. 13:01 And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, 13:04 over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle 13:07 southward. And he lighted the lamps before the Lord; 13:10 as the Lord commanded Moses. 13:11 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation 13:14 before the veil: And he burnt sweet incense thereon; 13:18 as the Lord commanded Moses. 13:21 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle. 13:23 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the 13:26 tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, 13:28 and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; 13:31 as the Lord commanded Moses. 13:33 And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation 13:36 and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal. 13:39 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their 13:43 feet thereat: When they went into the tent 13:46 of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, 13:48 they washed; as the Lord commanded Moses. 13:51 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle 13:54 and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. 13:57 So Moses finished the work. 14:00 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, 14:03 and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 14:05 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent 14:09 of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, 14:13 and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 14:16 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, 14:19 the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: 14:22 But if the cloud were not taken up, 14:24 then they journeyed not until the day that it was taken up. 14:27 For the cloud of the Lord was upon the tabernacle by day, 14:31 and fire was on it by night, 14:34 in the sight of all the house of Israel, 14:36 throughout all their journeys. |
