00:18 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you 00:20 for joining with me today 00:21 to read the Word of God. 00:22 Before we start, let's pray together. 00:24 Dear Jesus, thank you so much for bringing to us Your Word. 00:30 Down through the centuries and through all of the different 00:35 ages of human history, it's come to us 00:39 today to impact our lives and to teach us more of You 00:45 and to teach us how to serve each other better, 00:48 how to serve You better. 00:49 As we read today about events that happened thousands of years 00:54 ago, please send the Holy Spirit to give wisdom to our heart 00:58 and to teach us the lessons that these events carry 01:02 for each of us today. Remind us again of Your mercy 01:06 and keep Your Holy Spirit shining bright in our hearts 01:11 to guide us into more truth. We love You so much. Amen. 01:14 Reading in the book of Exodus about the building of the 01:18 sanctuary and all of the instructions and the patterns 01:21 that God was giving to Moses. 01:23 We are picking up in chapter 30. For Aaron and his sons 04:16 shall wash their hands and their feet thereat: 04:19 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall 04:21 wash with water, that they die not; 04:24 or when they come near to the altar to minister, 04:27 to burn offering made by fire unto the Lord: 04:29 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, 04:31 that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, 04:36 even to him and to his seed throughout their generations. 04:39 Moreover the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 04:43 Take thou also unto thee principal spices of pure myrrh 04:49 five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, 04:52 even two hundred and fifty shekels, 04:54 and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels. 04:57 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the 05:01 sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin: 05:04 And thou shalt make an oil of holy ointment, 05:07 an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: 05:11 it shall be a holy anointing oil. 05:14 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation 05:17 therewith, and the ark of the testimony, 05:20 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick 05:23 and his vessels, and the altar of incense, 05:25 And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, 05:28 and the laver and his foot. 05:31 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: 05:35 whatsoever touchest them shall be holy. 05:38 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, 05:42 that they may minister unto Me in the priest's office. 05:45 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, 05:49 This shall be a holy anointing oil unto Me 05:52 throughout your generations. 05:55 Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, 05:57 neither shall you make any other like it, 05:59 after the composition of it: it is holy, 06:02 and it shall be holy unto you. 06:04 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, 06:07 or whosever putteth any of it upon a stranger, 06:10 shall even be cut off from his people. 06:13 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, 06:17 stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices 06:22 with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight: 06:26 And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after 06:29 the art of the apothecary, tempered together, 06:32 pure and holy: And thou shalt beat some of it very small, 06:36 and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle 06:39 of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: 06:41 it shall be unto you most holy. 06:44 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, 06:47 ye shall not make it to yourselves according to 06:50 the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy 06:54 for the Lord. Whosoever shall make like unto that, 06:58 to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people. 07:02 We are continuing in Exodus 07:05 in chapter 31, and this is the 07:06 King James version. 07:08 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 07:11 See, I have called by name Bezaleel, the son of Uri, 07:17 the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 07:19 And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, 07:23 and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner 07:27 of workmanship, To devise cunning works, 07:30 to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 07:33 and in cutting of stones, to set them, 07:36 and in carving of timber, to work in all manner 07:38 of workmanship. And I, behold, I have given with him 07:44 Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: 07:48 and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted, 07:50 I have put wisdom 07:52 that they may make all that I have commanded thee; 07:56 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark 07:59 of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, 08:02 and all the furniture of the tabernacle. 08:04 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick 08:07 with all his furniture, and the altar of incense, 08:09 And the altar of burn offering with all his furniture, 08:12 and the laver and his foot. 08:14 And the clothes of service, and the holy garments for Aaron 08:17 the priest, and the garments of his sons, 08:19 to minister in the priest's office, 08:21 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: 08:25 according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do. 08:28 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 08:31 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, 08:34 Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign 08:39 between Me and you throughout your generations; 08:42 that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. 08:45 Ye shall keep the Sabbath there- fore; for it is holy unto you: 08:49 every one that defilith it shall surely be put to death: 08:52 for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be 08:56 cut off from among his people. 08:58 Six days may work be done; 09:01 but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, 09:04 holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the 09:07 Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 09:09 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, 09:13 to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, 09:16 for a perpetual covenant. 09:19 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: 09:23 for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, 09:26 and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed. 09:29 And He gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of communing 09:33 with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, 09:37 tables of stone, written with the finger of God. 09:41 We are continuing to read in the book of Exodus 09:45 in chapter 32, and this is the King James version. 09:49 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down 09:54 out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together 09:58 unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, 10:01 which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, 10:05 the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, 10:07 we wot not what is become of him. 10:10 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, 10:14 which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, 10:16 and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 10:18 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were 10:21 in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 10:23 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it 10:26 with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: 10:31 and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, 10:35 which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 10:37 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; 10:41 and Aaron made proclamation, and said, 10:43 Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord. 10:47 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered 10:50 burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings, 10:52 and the people sat down to eat and to drink, 10:54 and rose up to play. 10:56 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; 11:01 for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land 11:04 of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. 11:06 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded 11:11 them: they have made them a molten calf, 11:13 and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, 11:16 and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have 11:18 brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 11:21 And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, 11:25 and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people: 11:29 Now therefore let Me alone, that my wrath may wax hot 11:34 against them, that I may consume them: 11:36 and I will make of thee a great nation. 11:40 And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said, 11:45 Lord, why doth Thy wrath wax hot against Thy people, 11:50 which thou has brought forth out of the land of Egypt 11:53 with great power, and with a mighty hand? 11:55 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, 11:58 For mischief did He bring them out, to slay them in the 12:01 mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? 12:03 Turn from Thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil 12:08 against Thy people. 12:09 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, 12:13 to whom Thou swarest by thine own self and saidest unto them 12:16 I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, 12:20 and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your 12:23 seed, and they shall inherit it for ever. 12:25 And the Lord repented of the evil which He thought to do 12:30 unto His people. And Moses turned, and went down 12:35 from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony 12:38 were in his hand: 12:39 the tables were written on both 12:41 their sides; on the one side 12:43 and on the other were they written. 12:44 And the tables were the work of God, 12:47 and the writing was the writing of God, 12:49 graven upon the tables. And when Joshua heard the noise 12:53 of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, 12:56 There is a noise of war in the camp. 12:58 And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, 13:03 neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: 13:06 but the noise of them that sing do I hear. 13:11 And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, 13:14 that he saw the calf, and the dancing: 13:17 and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables 13:21 out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. 13:24 And he took the calf which they had made, 13:26 and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, 13:29 and strewed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel 13:32 drink of it. And Moses said unto Aaron, 13:34 What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great 13:38 a sin upon them? And Aaron said, 13:41 Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people 13:45 that they are set on mischief. 13:46 For they said unto me, Make us gods, 13:49 which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, 13:51 the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, 13:54 we wot not what is become of him. 13:56 And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, 13:58 let them break it off. So they gave it me: 14:00 and I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf. 14:04 And when Moses saw that the people were naked; 14:07 (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among 14:10 their enemies:) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, 14:13 and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. 14:18 And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together 14:22 unto him. 14:24 Thank you for joining with me today to read the Word of God. 14:28 Until we are together again, when the question is asked 14:31 "Who is on the Lord's side? " may every one of us 14:33 stand up immediately and say "Count me in. " 14:36 Thank you. Join me again next time. Goodbye. |
