00:16 Hi and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:17 I'm Kelly Mowrer, and thank you 00:19 for joining with me to read 00:20 the Word of God today. 00:21 When we were last together we were reading in the book of 00:24 Exodus God's instructions for the garments that were to be 00:29 worn by Aaron and his sons as they served in the role of 00:32 priests. We were reading about the ephod and how that contained 00:38 stones and on the stones were engraved the names of the 00:42 twelve tribes of Israel. 00:43 And Aaron took those names and bore them before the Lord. 00:47 And we can take from that the assurance that our names 00:52 are always in front of God's care and keeping. 00:55 He knows each one of us. He knows where we're at. 00:57 And now as we read the Bible together, let's pray 00:59 and ask Him to be with us with His Holy Spirit guiding us 01:02 in a special way. Dear Jesus, thank you so much 01:05 that you have graven our names in Your heart and in Your hands 01:10 and You know each one of us. That not a sparrow falls 01:13 to the ground but that your Father sees it. 01:16 And when He watches the sparrows, 01:19 He certainly hasn't lost sight of us. 01:21 And so, as we read the Old Testament 01:25 and the sanctuary that You had Your children build 01:28 to show us things about You, take these words and teach us 01:32 lessons that You wish to have us apply in our lives today. 01:36 May we know that You constantly have us before Your gaze 01:40 and that You are working out Your plans and Your purpose 01:42 for each one of us. And now please be with us as we read, 01:45 and may we hear and understand. We love You so much, 01:48 and thank You for loving us. Amen. 01:50 Again we are reading in the book of Exodus, 01:52 and we are in chapter 28. 01:54 This is the King James version, and we left off on verse 12. 01:58 I'm going to pick it up right a phrase before we left off 02:01 and we'll continue reading in the middle of verse 12. 02:04 And Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord 02:07 upon his two shoulders for a memorial. 02:10 And thou shalt make ouches of gold; 02:13 And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work 02:16 shalt thou make them, 02:18 and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches. 02:20 And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with 02:23 cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; 02:27 of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, 02:30 and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. 02:33 Foursquare it shall be being doubled; 02:37 a span shall be the length thereof, 02:39 and a span shall be the breadth thereof. 02:41 And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, 02:43 even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, 02:48 a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row. 02:52 And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, 02:56 and a diamond. 02:58 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. 03:03 And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: 03:09 they shall be set in gold in their inclosings. 03:13 And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, 03:16 twelve, according to their names like the engravings of a signet; 03:20 every one with his name shall they be 03:22 according to the twelve tribes. 03:24 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends 03:28 of the wreathen work of pure gold. 03:30 And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, 03:34 and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 03:37 And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold 03:39 in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate. 03:42 And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains 03:45 thou shalt fasten in the two ouches, and put them on 03:48 the shoulder pieces of the ephod before it. 03:51 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them 03:55 upon the two ends of the breastplate in the border 03:57 thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward. 04:00 And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, 04:03 and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, 04:06 toward the forepart thereof, over against the other coupling 04:09 thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod. 04:11 And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof 04:15 unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, 04:19 that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that 04:22 the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod. 04:25 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel 04:29 in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, 04:32 when he goeth in unto the holy place, 04:34 for a memorial before the Lord continually. 04:38 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment 04:41 the Urim and the Thummim; 04:43 and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in 04:46 before the Lord: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the 04:48 children of Israel upon his heart 04:50 before the Lord continually. 04:53 And thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue. 04:57 And there shall be a hole in the top of it, in the midst thereof; 05:00 it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, 05:04 as it were the hole of a habergeon, that it be not rent. 05:08 And beneath upon the hem of it thou shalt make pomegranates 05:12 of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, 05:14 round bout the hem thereof; 05:16 and bells of gold between them round about: 05:19 A golden bell and a pomegranate, 05:22 a golden bell and a pomegranate, 05:25 upon the hem of the robe round about. 05:28 And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound 05:32 shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place 05:35 before the Lord, and when he cometh out, that he die not. 05:38 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, 05:43 like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. 05:48 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, 05:51 that it may be upon the mitre; 05:52 upon the forefront of the miter it shall be. 05:56 And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear 06:00 the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel 06:03 shall hallow in all their holy gifts; 06:05 and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be 06:08 accepted before the Lord. And thou shalt embroider the coat of 06:12 fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre of fine linen, 06:15 and thou shalt make the girdle of needlework. 06:18 And for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, 06:21 and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets shalt thou 06:24 make for them, for glory and for beauty. 06:27 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, 06:29 and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, 06:32 and consecrate them, and sanctify them, 06:35 that they may minister unto Me in the priest's office. 06:39 And thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their 06:42 nakedness; 06:43 from their loins even unto the thighs they shall reach; 06:46 And they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, 06:49 when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, 06:52 or when they come near unto the altar to minister 06:54 in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: 06:58 it shall be a statute for ever unto him and his seed after him. 07:03 We are continuing to read in the book of Exodus. 07:06 This is chapter 29 verse 1, and this is the King James version. 07:10 And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them 07:14 to hallow them, to minister unto Me in the priest's office: 07:17 Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish, 07:20 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, 07:24 and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: 07:28 of wheaten flour shalt thou make them. 07:30 And thou shalt put them into one basket, 07:33 and bring them in the basket, 07:35 with the bullock and the two rams. 07:37 And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the 07:40 tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water. 07:44 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron 07:47 the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, 07:50 and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle 07:54 of the ephod: And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, 07:57 and put the holy crown upon the mitre. 07:59 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, 08:03 and pour it upon his head, and anoint him. 08:06 And thou shalt bring his sons, and put coats upon them. 08:10 And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, 08:13 and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be 08:16 theirs for a perpetual statute: 08:19 and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons. 08:22 And thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the 08:25 tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons 08:28 shall put their hands upon the head of the bullock. 08:30 And thou shalt kill the bullock before the Lord, 08:33 by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 08:35 And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon 08:38 the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood 08:42 beside the bottom of the altar. 08:44 And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, 08:47 and the caul that is above the liver, and the two kidneys 08:50 and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar. 08:53 But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, 08:57 shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: 09:00 it is a sin offering. 09:02 Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons 09:05 shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. 09:07 And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, 09:11 and sprinkle it round about upon the altar. 09:14 And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards 09:18 of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, 09:21 and unto his head. And thou shalt burn the whole ram 09:24 upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the Lord: 09:28 it is a sweet savor, and offering made by fire 09:32 unto the Lord. And thou shalt take the other ram; 09:36 and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head 09:38 of the ram. Then thou shalt kill the ram, and 09:41 take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear 09:44 of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, 09:47 and upon the thumb of their right hand 09:49 and upon the great toe of their right foot, 09:51 and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. 09:54 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, 09:58 and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, 10:02 and upon his garments, and upon his sons, 10:04 and upon the garments of his sons with him: 10:06 and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, 10:11 and his sons' garments with him. 10:13 Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, 10:18 and the fat that covereth the inwards, 10:20 and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, 10:23 and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; 10:26 for it is a ram of consecration. 10:29 And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, 10:33 and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread 10:36 that is before the Lord: 10:38 And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, 10:41 and in the hands of his sons; 10:43 and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the Lord. 10:47 And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them 10:51 upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savor 10:56 before the Lord: it is an offering made by fire 10:59 unto the Lord. And thou shalt take the breast of the ram 11:02 of Aaron's consecration, and wave it for a wave offering 11:06 before the Lord, and it shall be thy part. 11:08 And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, 11:12 and the shoulder of the heave offering, which is waved, 11:15 and which is heaved up, of the ram of the consecration, 11:18 even of that which is for Aaron, 11:20 and of that which is for his sons. 11:22 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute for ever 11:26 from the children of Israel, for it is a heave offering 11:30 and it shall be a heave offering from the children of Israel 11:34 of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, even their heave 11:37 offering unto the Lord. 11:39 And the holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, 11:43 to be anointed therein, and to be consecrated in them. 11:46 And that son that is priest in his stead shall put them 11:51 on seven days, when he cometh into the tabernacle of the 11:54 congregation to minister in the holy place. 11:57 And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, 12:00 and seethe his flesh in the holy place. 12:03 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, 12:06 and the bread that is in the basket, by the door of the 12:08 tabernacle of the congregation. 12:10 And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made 12:14 to consecrate and to sanctify them: 12:16 but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy. 12:21 And if aught of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, 12:25 remain unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder 12:29 with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy. 12:32 And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, 12:36 according to all things which I have commanded thee: 12:39 seven days shalt thou consecrate them. 12:42 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering 12:46 for atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, 12:49 when thou has made an atonement for it, and thou shalt 12:51 sanctify it and anoint it to sanctify it. 12:54 Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, 12:57 and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: 12:59 whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy. 13:03 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; 13:06 two lambs of the first year day by day continually. 13:11 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; 13:13 and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even: 13:16 And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with 13:19 the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil; 13:22 and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering. 13:26 And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do 13:29 thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, 13:32 and according to the drink offering thereof, 13:34 for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 13:38 This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout 13:41 your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the 13:43 congregation before the Lord: where I will meet you, 13:47 to speak there unto thee. 13:49 And there I will meet with the children of Israel, 13:51 and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory. 13:55 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, 13:58 and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, 14:02 to minister to Me in the priest's office. 14:05 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, 14:08 and will be their God. 14:11 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, 14:14 that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, 14:17 that I may dwell among them: 14:19 I am the Lord their God. 14:22 When we meet together again we'll pick up with Exodus 14:25 chapter 30. But until then, as we go back out into our lives 14:29 as we go through whatever it is that we are facing right now, 14:32 remember always that God came to meet with us. 14:36 He made a way that we can come to His mercy seat 14:38 whenever we need. Goodbye. |
