00:15 Hi, I'm Kelly Mowrer and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:18 Thank you for joining with me
00:20 again to read the Bible today.
00:21 But before we read, let's pray together.
00:24 Dear Jesus, thank you so much that we can come apart
00:27 just this little time and spend a few minutes in Your Word,
00:32 arming ourselves as we go through the day
00:35 and go through life to face... face everything with
00:39 Your precious promises, with Your wisdom,
00:42 because Your words truly ARE life.
00:44 Thank you so much for giving them to us.
00:46 Please send the Holy Spirit now and be with us as we read.
00:51 We love You so much and thank you for loving us. Amen.
00:55 We are reading today from the book of Exodus
00:58 starting in chapter 22 with verse 10.
01:01 And this is the King James version.
01:03 If a man deliver unto his neighbor an ass, or an ox,
01:08 or a sheep, or any beast, to keep, and it die, or be hurt,
01:12 or driven away, no one seeing it:
01:15 Then shall an oath of the Lord be between them both,
01:18 that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbor's goods;
01:22 and the owner of it shall accept thereof,
01:25 and he shall not make it good.
01:26 And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution
01:30 unto the owner thereof.
01:31 If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness,
01:35 and he shall not make good that which was torn.
01:38 And if a man borrow aught of his neighbor, and it be hurt,
01:41 or die, the owner thereof being not with it,
01:45 he shall surely make it good.
01:47 But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good:
01:51 if it be a hired thing, it came for his hire.
01:54 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed,
01:58 and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
02:02 If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him,
02:05 he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
02:08 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
02:11 Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
02:15 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save to the Lord only,
02:20 he shall be utterly destroyed.
02:22 Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him:
02:26 for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
02:29 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
02:33 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all
02:36 unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
02:40 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword;
02:44 and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
02:47 If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee,
02:53 thou shalt not be to him as a userer,
02:56 neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
03:00 If thou at all take thy neighbor's raiment to pledge,
03:03 thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
03:07 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin:
03:11 wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass,
03:14 when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
03:18 Thou shalt not revile the gods,
03:21 nor curse the ruler of thy people.
03:22 Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits,
03:26 and of thy liquors: the first-born of thy sons
03:29 shalt thou give unto Me.
03:30 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep:
03:34 seven days it shall be with his dam;
03:37 on the eighth day thou shalt give it to Me.
03:39 And you shall be holy men unto me:
03:41 neither shall ye eat of any flesh that is torn of beasts
03:44 in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
03:48 Again, we are reading in the book of Exodus,
03:50 and starting with chapter 23.
03:53 And this is the King James version.
03:55 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand
04:00 with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
04:03 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil;
04:07 neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many
04:10 to wrest judgment:
04:11 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.
04:15 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray,
04:20 thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
04:23 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee
04:26 lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him,
04:30 thou shalt surely help with him.
04:32 Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor
04:35 in his cause. Keep thee far from a false matter;
04:41 and the innocent and the righteous slay thou not:
04:45 for I will not justify the wicked.
04:47 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise,
04:51 and perverteth the words of the righteous.
04:54 Also, thou shalt not oppress a stranger:
04:57 for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were
05:00 strangers in the land of Egypt.
05:02 And six years thou shalt sow thy land,
05:06 and shall gather in the fruits thereof:
05:08 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still;
05:12 that the poor of thy people may eat;
05:15 and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat.
05:18 In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard,
05:21 and with thy olive yard.
05:22 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day
05:25 thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest,
05:29 and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
05:32 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect:
05:37 and make no mention of the name of other gods,
05:40 neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
05:42 Three times thou shalt keep a
05:45 feast unto Me in the year.
05:48 Thou shalt keep the feast of
05:49 unleavened bread:
05:50 (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee,
05:54 in the time appointed of the month Abib;
05:57 for in it thou camest out from Egypt:
05:59 and none shall appear before me empty:)
06:01 And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of thy labors,
06:05 which thou has sown in the field:
06:07 and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year,
06:11 when thou has gathered in thy labors out of the field.
06:14 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear
06:18 before the Lord God.
06:20 Thou shalt not offer the blood of My sacrifice
06:24 with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of My sacrifice
06:28 remain until the morning.
06:31 The first of the first fruits of thy land thou shalt bring
06:34 into the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe
06:37 a kid in his mother's milk.
06:40 Behold, I send an angel before thee,
06:43 to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place
06:46 which I have prepared.
06:48 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not;
06:52 for he will not pardon your transgressions;
06:55 for My name is in him.
06:57 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice,
07:01 and do all that I speak;
07:04 then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies,
07:07 and an adversary unto thine adversaries.
07:10 For mine angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in
07:14 unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites,
07:17 and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites:
07:20 and I will cut them off.
07:22 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them,
07:25 nor do after their works:
07:27 but thou shalt utterly overthrow them,
07:30 and quite break down their images.
07:33 And you shall serve the Lord your God,
07:36 and He shall bless thy bread, and thy water;
07:39 and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
07:43 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren,
07:46 in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfill.
07:50 I will send My fear before thee, and will destroy all the people
07:54 to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies
07:57 turn their backs unto thee.
07:59 And I will send hornets before thee,
08:02 which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite,
08:04 and the Hittite, from before thee.
08:06 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year;
08:09 lest the land become desolate,
08:11 and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
08:13 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee,
08:17 until thou be increased, and inherit the land.
08:21 And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea even unto the sea
08:24 of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river:
08:27 for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land
08:29 into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.
08:33 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
08:37 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin
08:41 against Me: for if thou serve their gods,
08:44 it will surely be a snare unto thee.
08:47 Continuing to read in the book of Exodus
08:50 with chapter 24. And this is the King James version.
08:53 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord,
08:57 thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders
09:01 of Israel; and worship ye afar off.
09:04 And Moses alone shall come near the Lord:
09:07 but they shall not come nigh;
09:08 neither shall the people go up with him.
09:10 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord
09:14 and all the judgments: and all the people answered
09:17 with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord
09:20 hath said will we do.
09:23 And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord,
09:26 and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar
09:29 under the hill, and twelve pillars,
09:31 according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
09:34 And he sent young men of the children of Israel,
09:36 which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings
09:39 of oxen unto the Lord. And Moses took half of the blood,
09:42 and put it in basins; and half of the blood
09:44 he sprinkled on the altar.
09:45 And he took the book of the covenant, and read
09:48 in the audience of the people: and they said,
09:50 All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.
09:55 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people,
09:58 and said, Behold the blood of the covenant,
10:01 which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.
10:06 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu,
10:09 and seventy of the elders of Isarel:
10:11 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under His feet
10:16 as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone,
10:20 and as it were the body of heaven in His clearness.
10:24 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel
10:27 He laid not His hand:
10:29 also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
10:32 And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to Me into the mount,
10:35 and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone,
10:39 and a law, and commandments which I have written;
10:41 that thou mayest teach them.
10:44 And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua:
10:47 and Moses went up into the mount of God.
10:49 And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us,
10:53 until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur
10:56 are with you: if any man have any matters to do,
10:59 let him come unto them.
11:00 And Moses went up into the mount,
11:03 and a cloud covered the mount.
11:04 And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai,
11:08 and the cloud covered it six days:
11:10 and the seventh day He called unto Moses
11:12 out of the midst of the cloud.
11:14 And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire
11:19 on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
11:22 And Moses went into the midst of the cloud,
11:25 and gat him up into the mount:
11:27 and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
11:31 We're continuing to read in the book of Exodus,
11:34 and this is chapter 25.
11:35 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
11:39 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring Me
11:41 an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly
11:44 with his heart ye shall take My offering.
11:47 And this is the offering which ye shall take of them;
11:49 gold, and silver, and brass, and blue, and purple, and scarlet,
11:54 and fine linen, and goats' hair, and rams' skins dyed red,
11:58 and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,
12:01 Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil,
12:04 and for sweet incense.
12:05 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod,
12:08 and in the breastplate.
12:10 And let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.
12:14 According to all that I show thee, after the pattern of the
12:18 tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof,
12:22 even so shall ye make it.
12:24 And they shall make an ark of shittim wood:
12:27 two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof,
12:30 and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof,
12:33 and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
12:35 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold,
12:39 within and without shalt thou overlay it,
12:41 and shall make upon it a crown of gold around about.
12:45 And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it,
12:48 and put them in the four corners thereof;
12:50 and two rings shall be in the one side of it,
12:53 and two rings in the other side of it.
12:55 And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood,
12:58 and overlay them with gold.
13:00 And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides
13:03 of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.
13:07 The staves shall be in the rings of the ark:
13:09 they shall not be taken from it.
13:11 And thou shalt put into the ark
13:13 the testimony which I shall give thee.
13:15 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold:
13:19 two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof,
13:22 and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
13:24 And thou shalt make two cherubim's of gold,
13:27 of beaten work shalt thou make them,
13:30 in the two ends of the mercy seat.
13:32 And make one cherub on the one end,
13:34 and the other cherub on the other end:
13:36 even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubim's
13:39 on the two ends thereof.
13:41 And the cherubim's shall stretch forth their wings on high,
13:44 covering the mercy seat with their wings,
13:47 and their faces shall look one to another;
13:50 toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim's be.
13:53 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark; and in the
13:58 ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.
14:02 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee
14:06 from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim's
14:10 which are upon the ark of the testimony,
14:11 of all things which I will give thee in commandment
14:15 unto the children of Israel.
14:18 Thank you for joining with me today to read the Word of God.
14:21 And as we leave this time together and go off
14:25 into our lives and into service to each other and service
14:29 to God, I pray that the words here will stay with us
14:33 and that we will commune with God always at the seat of mercy
14:35 and the grace that He has given according to each of our lives.
14:38 Until next time, thank you and goodbye.
