00:16 Hi, welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:18 I'm Kelly Mowrer. 00:20 Around the world right now we're all gathering together to read 00:23 the Word of God. 00:25 Every one of us has things in our life that 00:26 we need answers for. 00:29 We have people we're praying for 00:31 we have situations where we don't know what to do. 00:34 The answer is here in the Bible. 00:35 The words of life are given to be health to us, to sustain us, 00:39 and to encourage us. 00:40 Before we begin to read and enjoy this wonderful gift 00:43 from God, let's go to Him in prayer. 00:46 Dear God, thank you so much that although we don't see you 00:51 we can see the words of the Son that you sent to us. 00:54 We ask that as we read these words that you will speak to our 00:58 hearts so we will have a very real sense of your presence, 01:01 and that we will come away from this time knowing that we have 01:04 been with you and were strengthened to face the day. 01:07 Thank you and we love you so much Father, amen. 01:12 I'm reading from the King James Version, the gospel of John 01:15 chapter eight and beginning with verse nineteen. 01:20 Then said they unto Him, Where is thy Father? 01:23 Jesus answered, You neither know me nor my Father: 01:26 if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. 01:30 These words spake Jesus in the treasury as he taught 01:33 in the temple: 01:34 and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come. 01:39 Then said Jesus again unto them, 01:41 I go my way and ye shall seek me and shall die in your sins: 01:46 whither I go, ye cannot come. 01:49 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, 01:53 Whither I go, ye cannot come. 01:55 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; 01:59 I am from above: ye are of this world; 02:03 I am not of this world. 02:06 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: 02:09 for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. 02:15 Then said they unto him, who art thou? 02:18 And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto 02:22 you from the beginning, I have many things to say 02:25 and to judge of you, but he that sent me is true, and I 02:29 speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. 02:33 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. 02:38 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of Man 02:42 then shall ye know that I am he and that I do nothing of myself. 02:47 but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 02:51 And he that sent me is with me. 02:53 The Father hath not left me alone, 02:55 for I do always those things that pleases Him. 02:59 As he spake these words many believed on him. 03:04 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, 03:07 If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. 03:12 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 03:17 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed and were never 03:21 in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, 03:24 Ye shall be made free? 03:27 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily I say unto you, 03:30 Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 03:35 And the servant abideth not in the house forever 03:38 But the Son abideth ever. 03:42 If the Son therefore shall make you free ye shall be free indeed 03:46 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, 03:50 because my word hath no place in you. 03:53 I speak that which I have seen with my Father, 03:57 and ye do that which ye have seen with your Father. 04:01 They answered and said unto him Abraham is our Father. 04:04 Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, 04:08 ye would do the works of Abraham 04:09 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you 04:13 the truth which I have heard of God, this did not Abraham. 04:18 Ye do the deeds of your father. 04:20 Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; 04:25 we have one Father, even God. 04:27 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, 04:31 ye would love me: 04:32 for I proceeded forth and came from God; 04:35 neither came I of myself, but he sent me. 04:39 Why do you not understand my speech? 04:41 Even because ye cannot hear my word. 04:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father 04:48 ye will do. 04:49 He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not 04:53 in the truth, because there is no truth in him. 04:56 When he speaketh a lie he speaketh of his own: 04:59 for he is a liar, and the father of it. 05:02 And because I tell you the truth ye believe me not. 05:06 Which of you convinceth me of sin? 05:09 And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 05:13 He that is of God heareth God's words: 05:16 Ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. 05:20 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, Say we not well 05:26 that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? 05:28 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honor my Father, 05:33 and ye do dishonor me. 05:36 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and 05:40 judges. 05:41 Verily, verily, I say unto you, 05:43 If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. 05:49 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou 05:52 hast a devil. Abraham is dead and the prophets 05:55 and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, 05:57 he shall never taste of death. 05:58 Art thou greater than our father Abraham which is dead? 06:02 and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 06:07 Jesus answered, If I honor myself, my honor is nothing. 06:11 It is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, 06:15 that he is your God: yet ye have not known him; 06:18 but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, 06:22 I should be a liar like unto you but I know him, 06:26 and keep his saying. 06:29 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: 06:32 and he saw it and was glad. 06:36 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old 06:40 and hast thou seen Abraham? 06:41 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, 06:46 Before Abraham was, I am. 06:51 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, 06:55 and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, 06:58 and so passed by. 07:01 I'm reading from the King James version, the gospel of John. 07:04 We're beginning chapter nine. 07:07 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man 07:10 which was blind from his birth. 07:12 And his disciples asked him saying, Master, who did sin, 07:17 this man or his parents, that he was born blind? 07:20 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents 07:25 but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 07:29 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: 07:33 the night cometh, when no man can work. 07:36 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 07:41 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay 07:45 of the spittle, and he annointed the eyes of the blind man 07:49 with the clay. 07:50 And said unto him, Go wash in the pool of Siloam, 07:53 which is by interpretation, Sent. 07:57 He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. 08:02 The neighbors therefore, and they which before had seen him 08:06 that he was blind, said, 08:07 Is not this he that sat and begged? 08:12 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: 08:17 but he said, I am he. 08:19 Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? 08:23 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay and 08:27 annointed mine eyes, and said unto me, 08:29 Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, 08:32 and I received sight. 08:34 Then said they unto him, Where is he? 08:37 He said, I know not. 08:40 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 08:44 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, 08:47 and opened his eyes. 08:49 And again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received 08:52 his sight. 08:53 He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes 08:56 and I washed and do see. 08:59 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, 09:00 This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. 09:05 Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles 09:10 And there was a division among them. 09:13 They say unto the blind man again, 09:15 What sayest thou of him that he hath opened thine eyes? 09:19 He said, He is a prophet. 09:21 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, 09:24 that he had been blind, and received his sight. 09:26 until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. 09:30 And they asked them saying, 09:31 Is this your son who you say was born blind? 09:33 How then doth he now see? 09:36 His parents answered them and said, 09:38 We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: 09:43 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; 09:46 or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: 09:50 he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. 09:55 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: 09:59 for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that 10:03 he was Chirst, he should be put out of the synagogue. 10:06 Therefore said his parents, He is of age, ask him. 10:10 Then again called they the man that was blind and said unto him 10:15 Give God the praise, we know that this man is a sinner. 10:21 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: 10:25 one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, 10:30 now I see. 10:33 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? 10:37 How opened he thine eyes? 10:39 He answered them, I have told you already, 10:41 and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? 10:45 Will ye also be his disciples? 10:47 Then they reviled him and said, Thou art his disciple, 10:51 but we are Moses' disciples. 10:54 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, 10:57 we know not from whence he is. 11:00 The man answered and said unto them, 11:02 Why herein is a marvellous thing that ye know not from whence 11:08 he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes. 11:11 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: 11:14 but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, 11:17 him he heareth. 11:19 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened 11:23 the eyes of one that was born blind. 11:25 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. 11:29 They answered and said unto him, 11:31 Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? 11:36 And they cast him out. 11:39 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; 11:41 and when he had found him, he said unto him, 11:43 Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 11:47 He answered and said, 11:48 Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 11:51 Jesus said unto him, 11:53 Thou hast both seen him, and it is he 11:56 that talketh with thee. 11:58 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. 12:02 And Jesus said, For judgement I am come into this world, 12:06 that they which see not might see; 12:10 and that they which see might be made blind. 12:15 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, 12:18 and said unto him, Are we blind also? 12:21 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, 12:23 ye should have no sin, 12:25 but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. 12:31 I'm reading in the gospel of John, chapter ten. 12:35 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door 12:41 into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, 12:43 the same is a thief and a robber. 12:47 But he that entereth in by the door is 12:48 the shepherd of the sheep. 12:50 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice; 12:53 and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 12:58 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, 13:01 and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 13:05 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: 13:09 for they know not the voice of strangers. 13:13 This parable spake Jesus unto them; but they understood not 13:16 what things they were which he spake unto them. 13:19 Then said Jesus unto them again, 13:21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 13:26 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: 13:29 but the sheep did not hear them. 13:32 I am the door: 13:34 by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, 13:37 and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 13:40 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and kill, and to destroy: 13:44 I am come that they might have life, 13:47 and that they might have it more abundantly. 13:50 I am the good shepherd: giveth his life for the sheep. 13:55 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, 13:58 whose own the sheep are not, 13:59 seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: 14:02 and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 14:05 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, 14:07 and careth not for the sheep. 14:09 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 14:14 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: 14:19 and I lay down my life for the sheep. 14:21 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: 14:25 them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; 14:29 and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 14:33 Therefore doth my Father love me because I lay down my life, 14:37 that I might take it again. 14:39 Goodbye. |
