00:16 Hi, and welcome to His Words Are Life.
00:19 I'm Kelly Mowrer and I will be reading today from the
00:22 King James version. When we were last together we were reading
00:26 where the disciples had come to Jesus and asked him to please
00:30 tell them what would be some of the signs of his coming,
00:32 and in the end of the world. Before we continue with
00:35 that, let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dear heavenly Father,
00:39 thank you that you have not left us to wander through this life
00:44 without counsel, without comfort without strength, and guidance.
00:48 Thank you for the word of Scripture that you have given
00:51 to us. And now as we read, give us the Holy Spirit to help us to
00:56 understand these things; that we may soon look up and see
00:59 you coming. We love you so much. Amen. Again I'm reading from the
01:05 book of Matthew, chapter 24, and I'll begin in verse 23.
01:09 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ,
01:14 or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs,
01:18 and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders;
01:22 insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive
01:26 the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore
01:31 if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert;
01:34 go not forth: behold he is in the secret chambers;
01:38 believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of
01:41 the east and shineth even unto the west; so shall also
01:46 the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is,
01:50 there will the eagles be gathered together.
01:53 Immediately after the tribulation of those days
01:56 shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her
02:00 light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of
02:03 the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign
02:07 of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes
02:11 of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming
02:15 in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
02:19 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
02:23 and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds,
02:26 from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable
02:30 of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth
02:34 leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye
02:39 shall see all these things, know that it is near,
02:42 even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall
02:48 not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth
02:52 shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
02:56 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of
03:02 heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were,
03:07 so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
03:11 For as in the days that were before the flood they were
03:15 eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
03:18 until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until
03:22 the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also
03:26 the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field;
03:31 the one shall be taken, and the other left.
03:33 Two women shall be grinding at the mill, the one shall be taken
03:38 and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not
03:42 what hour your Lord doth come. But know this,
03:47 that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch
03:50 the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have
03:54 suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready
03:59 for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
04:03 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made
04:09 ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
04:12 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall
04:17 find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make
04:21 him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant
04:26 shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
04:30 and shall begin to smite his fellow-servants, and to eat
04:34 and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant
04:37 shall come in a day when he looketh not for him,
04:41 and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall cut him
04:45 asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites:
04:49 there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
04:53 I'm reading from the book of Matthew, chapter 25.
04:56 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins,
05:03 which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
05:06 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
05:10 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil
05:14 with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their
05:19 lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered
05:22 and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold,
05:26 bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those
05:30 virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto
05:33 the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
05:36 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough
05:41 for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for
05:46 yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came;
05:50 and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage:
05:54 and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins,
05:59 saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said,
06:04 Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore,
06:09 for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man
06:14 cometh. For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling
06:19 into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered
06:23 unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents,
06:26 to another two, and to another one; to every man according
06:30 to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
06:34 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded
06:38 with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise
06:43 he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he
06:48 that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid
06:51 his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants
06:55 cometh and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five
06:59 talents, came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord thou
07:04 deliveredst unto me five talents behold: I have gained beside
07:08 them five talents more.
07:11 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good
07:13 and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few
07:16 things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou
07:20 into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two
07:25 talents came and said, Lord thou deliveredst unto me
07:29 two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents
07:32 beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good
07:36 and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things,
07:40 I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy
07:44 of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came
07:50 and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man
07:55 reaping where thou hast not sown and gathering where thou hast
07:59 not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent
08:03 in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
08:07 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful
08:12 servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not,
08:16 and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore
08:19 to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my
08:22 coming I should have received mine own back with usury.
08:24 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which
08:29 hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given,
08:34 and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be
08:39 taken away even that which he hath. And cast
08:42 ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be
08:47 weeping and gnashing of teeth. When the Son of man shall come
08:51 in His glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall
08:54 he sit upon the throne of his glory: and before him shall be
08:59 gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from
09:03 another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
09:06 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats
09:10 on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
09:15 Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared
09:19 for you from the foundation of the world:
09:21 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty,
09:25 and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
09:29 naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me:
09:33 I was in prison and ye came unto me: Then shall the righteous
09:37 answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered,
09:41 and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw
09:45 we thee a stranger and took thee in? or naked, and clothed
09:48 thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison and came unto thee?
09:52 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto
09:58 you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these
10:02 my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also
10:08 unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed,
10:11 into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
10:14 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty,
10:18 and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in:
10:22 naked and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison,
10:26 and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him,
10:31 saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a
10:36 stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister
10:39 unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto
10:45 you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these,
10:49 ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting
10:55 punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.
10:58 We're reading from the book of Matthew, chapter 26.
11:02 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings,
11:07 he said unto his disciples, Ye know that after two days
11:10 is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed
11:15 to be crucified. Then assembled together the chief priests,
11:19 and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace
11:23 of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
11:25 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety,
11:29 and kill him. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be
11:34 an uproar among the people. Now when Jesus was in Bethany,
11:38 in the house of Simon the leper, there came unto him a woman
11:42 having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured
11:45 it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples
11:50 saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this
11:54 waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much,
11:57 and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said
12:01 unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought
12:05 a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you;
12:08 but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this
12:13 ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say unto
12:18 you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole
12:21 world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done,
12:25 be told for a memorial of her. Then one of the twelve,
12:31 called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief Priests,
12:34 and said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him
12:38 unto you? And they covenanted with him for 30 pieces of silver
12:43 and from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
12:47 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread
12:50 the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him,
12:53 Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the Passover?
12:56 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him,
13:01 The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover
13:07 at thy house with my disciples. And the disciples did as Jesus
13:12 had appointed them; and they made ready the Passover.
13:14 now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
13:18 and as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one
13:23 of you shall betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful,
13:27 and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
13:31 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me
13:35 in the dish, the same shall betray me.
13:37 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto
13:43 that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good
13:47 for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed
13:53 him answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him,
13:56 Thou hast said. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread,
14:01 and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples,
14:04 and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup,
14:10 and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all
14:13 of it; For this is my blood of the new testament,
14:16 which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
14:18 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit
14:23 of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you
14:27 in my Father's kingdom. - Thank you again for joining me
14:32 May God keep you in His care.
