00:01 Welcome back. We're talking today about the forward heart,
00:03 and how God wants to work in us His meek and quiet spirit. 00:08 How He wants to pull out that need for approval from man, 00:12 and focus it only on the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:15 Our assignment for this week is three-fold actually. 00:20 Now you might say, Jill, I cannot do all three. 00:23 Just pick one. One would be a good start. 00:26 1. Have a dress up party. 00:28 We talked about that during the program. 00:30 Get your girlfriends together and just go through 00:32 and look at clothes, or even when you go shopping. 00:35 But ask God, Should I wear this? 00:37 Is this pleasing to You? 00:39 Or should I pick something else? 00:41 2. Go before God and see if you're oversharing 00:47 with someone of the opposite sex. 00:48 You could even make a chart, and you could list, 00:52 just for one week, keep track of who you talk to, 00:55 and how much you talk to them, and what you share. 00:58 You know, in my own life I don't even realize 01:00 who I talk to, really. 01:02 And so if you're specific about that, intentional about that, 01:08 you could go back, and you could say, Oh, I had no idea! 01:12 I actually share with this person a good deal, 01:15 and it's a lot of personal stuff. 01:17 Now we're not saying cloister yourself. 01:19 You want to have brothers in Jesus. 01:22 That's a wonderful thing. 01:24 All we're saying is be careful the type of 01:27 things that you share. That's all. 01:30 And 3. Seek to cultivate friendships with Godly women. 01:36 You might say, I have a lot of Godly women in my life. 01:40 That's a wonderful thing. 01:41 You might say, I can't think of one. 01:44 I don't even have one girlfriend that I can share with. 01:48 If that's your case, know that I'll be praying for you, 01:52 that God will bring someone, maybe move into your area, 01:57 someone that you could become friends with. 01:59 Maybe they'll show up at your church. 02:02 And you could say, I could pray with this person. 02:05 I could become friends with this person. 02:08 I could share with this person. 02:10 Our next program we begin addressing the topic of pride, 02:15 and we'll look at the boastful heart. 02:18 In conclusion is our Scripture, Romans 15:13. 02:22 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace 02:26 in believing, that you may abound in hope, 02:30 by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
