00:01 Welcome back.
00:02 We're discussing forgiveness today. 00:04 We talked about the parable of the sower 00:06 who went out to sow, 00:07 and who tossed the seed on the wayside, the hard road. 00:12 We discussed the first two hindrances to the spirit, 00:16 to the word of God going into our heart, 00:20 for the seed being planted. 00:22 We had talked about the corn, the green beans, 00:26 the acorns, the squash. 00:29 Any time that if you plant corn, 00:32 you expect to receive corn, you expect to harvest corn. 00:36 If you plant green beans, 00:38 you expect to harvest green beans. 00:40 Why? 00:41 Because the potential of the harvest is in the seed. 00:44 God wants to plant His word 00:46 deep into your heart and into mine. 00:50 And many times we're like that road. 00:52 We might be resistant to the work of the Holy Spirit. 00:56 So that's your first thing 00:58 for this week as we talk about our application. 01:01 First assignment. 01:02 Go to God, because only God knows our hearts. 01:05 Go to God and ask Him, 01:06 am I resistant to the work of the Holy Spirit in my heart? 01:12 If I am, what are the areas? 01:14 You know, the Bible says the heart is deceitful 01:16 above all things and is desperately wicked. 01:19 We don't even truly know our hearts. 01:22 So go to God and ask Him, 01:24 what are the areas of my heart 01:26 that are hardened that are like that road, 01:29 that will prevent God's seed, 01:32 the word of God from being planted deep 01:35 and from taking root. 01:37 Spend time in the word of God. 01:39 Allow God to plow up your heart. 01:44 Reads, if you're not familiar with the Bible, 01:46 I would encourage you to begin in the gospels. 01:49 I love the Gospel of John. 01:51 May be pick the Gospel of John, 01:53 and for the next week read just a couple of verses 01:56 every day from the Gospel of John. 01:59 The second thing, go to God and say, 02:02 what are the areas, 02:04 what are the ways that Satan has trampled on my life? 02:09 Is there any confusion in your life 02:11 about the character of God? 02:12 Has Satan told you lies about who God really is? 02:16 There again, we go to the word of God, 02:18 that tells us who God is. 02:20 Is there any abuse in your past or in your present? 02:24 Is there any pain, things that have been done against you? 02:27 Whose name gives you a sick feeling 02:29 in the pit of your stomach 02:30 when you hear that person's name? 02:32 Next week, we will address and look at steps, 02:36 keys that the Lord Jesus wants to lead us on, 02:39 to bring us to healing, 02:41 to pull us out of that miry clay 02:43 and to pour His forgiveness into our hearts 02:46 so that we can extend it to someone else. 02:49 In closing, our scripture is Romans 15:13, 02:53 "Now may the God of hope 02:54 fill you with all joy and peace in believing, 02:57 that you may abound in hope 02:59 by the power of the Holy Spirit." |
