00:32 Well, we have a chosen Speaker who's going to bless us today.

00:41 Some of you have heard about him but Taj...
00:44 Pastor Taj Pacleb is a man who loves the Lord.
00:47 He is the Speaker and Director of Revelation of Hope Ministries
00:53 based on the island of Hawaii
00:56 and he has come here to bless us with some words,
00:59 he's a man who loves the Lord, you will see from his...
01:03 from his character not only,

01:11 and he lives a missionary lifestyle,
01:14 going all over the world,
01:16 preaching the everlasting gospel.
01:19 I'd like to have a word of prayer as well
01:23 as we begin this session
01:26 and I want to give you a challenge
01:28 as you listen to the sermon or the exhortation,
01:33 you are a participant of that process as well
01:36 in which you can pray for the Speaker
01:38 that the words of God would be spoken through his mouth.
01:43 Let us pray.
01:44 "Dear heavenly Father, we thank you so much
01:47 for all that you do.
01:49 Please be with us,
01:51 may your presence be in this place,
01:54 and Lord, may you come soon,
01:58 in Jesus' name we pray, amen. "

05:09 I will go because this life is not my own
05:14 I will go
05:17 I will go...
05:20 I will go.
05:29 Music...
05:36 Pause...
05:39 Amen...
05:40 Aloha...
05:42 Audience: Aloha.
05:44 I bring you greetings
05:45 from the warm beautiful islands of Hawaii.
05:47 How many of you have been to Hawaii before?
05:50 All right...
05:51 How many of you wish you've been to Hawaii before?
05:53 Audience: Laughing.
05:54 You know, one of my dreams is that
05:56 one day, we can have GYC in Hawaii, how about that?
05:58 Audience: Amen.
06:00 You won't have to bring your jackets when you come.
06:02 Hopefully, one day that can happen.
06:04 I want to thank God for the privilege
06:06 of standing before you here to share this final charge.
06:10 It's always a high honor, a great joy, a privilege,
06:13 to share God's holy Word.
06:14 This morning for our final charge,
06:17 I'm going to share a message I've shared... few places before
06:19 but, you know, some things are worth repeating over and over.
06:22 It's a message that would challenge us
06:26 to truly go to the end.
06:27 It's entitled, "Driven and Drawn Further Beyond"
06:31 and so, I hope you brought your Bibles,
06:33 I hope you brought a spiritual appetite,
06:35 let's begin, I invite you to take your Bible
06:37 and turn to the book of Psalm 39,
06:39 Psalm 39...
06:41 In the book of Psalm 39, we find a poetic prayer
06:46 of serious and solemn reflection.
06:49 It comes from one that is struggling to express
06:53 the conviction of his heart.
06:54 He just could not put into words
06:57 the feelings of his mind.
07:00 It is the testimony... the prayer of one who has a
07:03 burning experience with the Lord.
07:05 Notice what the Psalmist says here in Psalms 39,
07:08 if you're there, would you please say, "Amen. "
07:11 Audience: Amen.
07:12 "Dear Lord, we've opened your holy Word,
07:15 we pray now that you'd speak to us
07:18 and give us spiritual ears that we might hear
07:21 that still small voice speaking to us
07:24 and I pray that you would stir our hearts within
07:28 with Holy Spirit fiery conviction...
07:30 and may the conviction result in a deeper conversion of our lives
07:35 please Lord, hide me behind the blessed cross,
07:39 speak to me and through me to each one of us
07:43 and I pray that our lives would never be the same
07:46 as a result,
07:47 in the name of Jesus we pray, amen. "
07:50 Psalm 39 verse 1, the Bible says,
07:55 "I said, I will take heed to my ways,
07:59 that I sin not with my tongue:
08:02 I will keep my mouth with a bridle,
08:05 while the wicked is before me.
08:08 I was dumb with silence,
08:10 I held my peace, even from good;
08:14 and my sorrow was stirred. "
08:18 Verse 3,
08:19 "My heart was hot within me,
08:23 and while I was musing the fire burned:
08:28 then spake I with my tongue... "
08:32 Here the Psalmist describes the spark of conviction
08:37 that grew into an overwhelming flame,
08:40 the Psalmist is saying here that he was musing
08:44 he was meditating...
08:46 he was contemplating and cogitating
08:49 upon his present situation
08:50 and as he did, the molten lava of emotion
08:54 swirled in his heart and it bubbled in his mind
08:58 and that inferno was unquenchable.
09:01 The blaze was inextinguishable
09:04 so when he finally opened his mouth,
09:07 to express the feelings of his heart,
09:10 it was like a volcanic eruption of emotion
09:13 that was just poured out
09:14 and I want us to admit to us friends today
09:17 that this is the way that we ought to pray
09:20 and praise and preach Jesus to the end of the world
09:25 with the fire of Holy Spirit conviction.
09:29 It wasn't long ago when I got the chance to visit
09:32 the old Hawaiian town called Kalapana.
09:35 Kalapana was once a popular and well-populated beach town
09:39 located right along the southeast shore
09:42 of the big island at the base of Kilauea.
09:45 Kilauea is the longest active volcano in the world
09:48 located right there in the beautiful Islands of Hawaii
09:52 but tragically, the whole town was wiped out
09:55 during the 1986 lava flow.
09:58 Every business... every street and every home was destroyed
10:01 by the lava flow
10:03 and so when you go there now,
10:04 all you can see is a desolate desert of black lava rocks,
10:08 there's really nothing that's easy on the eye
10:11 but there's something at the end of town
10:13 that drew hundreds of people every single day
10:17 but in order to see it,
10:19 you have to go beyond the paved easy pathway.
10:23 It's a tiresome four-mile hike but every step is worth it
10:27 because when you get to the end,
10:30 you are brought to see what I call
10:33 one of the top five things to see before you die
10:36 and that is... raging rivers of lava
10:39 flowing into the Pacific Ocean.
10:41 It is an incredible sight...
10:43 I did the trip not long ago,
10:44 I was driven and drawn further beyond
10:47 and what I saw was absolutely mesmerizing,
10:50 the pictures just don't do it justice,
10:52 so allow me to try to describe it for you
10:54 upon the canvas of your imagination.
10:57 After the four-mile hike,
10:59 you have to go down this rugged rocky road
11:02 and you have to walk out over the jagged, broken,
11:06 uneven mounds of black lava rock,
11:08 then you come to the edge of the cliff
11:10 that overlooks the fiery peninsula
11:12 and from that vantage point,
11:14 you can see streams of these red river rocks
11:17 flowing into the ocean
11:19 and when the lava touches the water,
11:21 it creates a violent reaction.
11:24 The river of hot lava rock
11:26 clashing with the cold liquid ocean
11:28 creates an incredible sight.
11:29 There are aggressive explosions
11:31 of red rocks shooting into the air,
11:33 followed by streaks of red and orange sparks
11:36 arching to the ground
11:38 and the intense heat causes the salt water to vaporize
11:41 immediately on contact
11:42 creating billowing steam clouds that rise hundreds of feet
11:45 into the atmosphere
11:47 and the glow the molten rock causes the steam clouds
11:49 to glow up... red and yellow and orange
11:52 and even pink and purple at times,
11:54 now, some of the lava solidifies
11:56 increasing the land mass of the island
11:58 and other smaller pieces of lava explode
12:01 into millions of pieces
12:03 creating the beautiful black sandy beaches
12:05 and it's an amazing... amazing sight.
12:08 Sunsets and sun rises are the best times to view it
12:11 so that you can see the transitioning colors
12:14 from day to night
12:15 and from night to day
12:16 and I got the chance to experience both
12:18 and was blessed to capture some amazing pictures
12:21 and to say the least, friends, I was blown away by what I saw.
12:24 I was awakened by its light, warmed by its heat,
12:29 mesmerized by its movement and captivated by its power,
12:33 I could definitely spend hours just watching the power of God
12:37 through living creation,
12:38 in fact, how many of you would like to come to Hawaii one day
12:40 and see it for yourself?
12:41 Amen... but I'm sorry to tell you that
12:45 in the most recent eruption a few months ago,
12:48 all the lava in the crater drained out
12:50 like water in a bathtub
12:51 but you can still go and see the aftermath of the flow
12:54 and you can walk on freshly-made black sandy beaches,
12:57 it's beautiful but in order to see it,
12:59 you have to be driven and drawn further beyond.
13:03 My friends, as I had this experience,
13:06 I got to thinking that there's something about fire
13:09 that captivates the senses
13:13 and I believe that this is how God wants us to feel about Him
13:17 and work in sharing Him with others.
13:20 That's how the Psalmist felt when he prayed
13:22 and by-the-way, Jeremiah the prophet felt the same way.
13:26 In Jeremiah chapter 20 and verse 9, Jeremiah testified,
13:29 "Then I said, I will not make mention of Him
13:32 nor speak any more in His name.
13:34 But His word was in my heart as burning fire
13:40 shut upon in my bones; and I was weary with forbearing,
13:43 and I could not stay. " Jeremiah said.
13:45 You see, there came a time in Jeremiah's experience
13:48 where he tried to repress the message and resist the mission.
13:53 There came a time in Jeremiah's experience
13:55 that he got discouraged because it seemed like
13:57 no one was listening to what he was saying
13:59 and so, he tried to keep quiet
14:02 but the fire of God consumed him,
14:06 the living Word in his heart was crying out to be heard
14:10 crying out for expression and Jeremiah couldn't hold it back.
14:14 He had to let it out
14:15 and so, like a volcanic eruption,
14:17 he proclaimed the unquenchable words of life
14:21 and thus the light of truth
14:22 penetrated the darkness of indifference...
14:26 the warmth of love penetrated the coldness of spiritual error,
14:30 my friends, today, we live in a cold, dark world,
14:34 a world where the love of many is growing cold
14:37 and I submit that when we need more in our lives...
14:40 in our marriages... in our ministries...
14:42 in our messages...
14:44 is the unquenchable fire of God
14:47 but in order to obtain it, we have to be driven and drawn
14:51 further beyond.
14:53 When we were in Europe, a few years ago,
14:57 we were in such-and-such-a city
15:00 and we saw one of the most disturbing sights
15:03 we'd ever witnessed.
15:05 We saw posters plastered all over the city
15:08 and all over the news and internet
15:11 of a man who set himself on fire,
15:14 he was a Tibetan exile that doused himself with gasoline...
15:19 set himself on fire in order to protest
15:22 the injustices of the Chinese President
15:25 and in that city, everywhere you turned,
15:27 you saw posters of this man, it was a disturbing sight.
15:31 This extreme act caught the attention of the whole world
15:35 and when I saw that,
15:37 I started thinking, you know,
15:39 when the church of God is on fire,
15:41 the whole world is going to take notice.
15:43 It reminded me of what that famous English Reformer
15:48 and spiritual Method man, John Wesley said,
15:51 "Catch on fire and people will come for miles
15:54 to watch you burn. "
15:55 And Friends, I believe that that's perhaps
15:59 one of the reasons why many of our churches are empty
16:01 is because our churches... our ministry... our messages...
16:06 like the offering of Cain, we lack the fire of God.
16:11 That's what we need friends.
16:13 Last year, January...
16:17 my family and I experienced a terrible tragedy.
16:21 Some of you heard about it.
16:23 At 3 o'clock in the morning,
16:24 a thief came in the night and set fire
16:27 to the abandoned house next to ours
16:29 and that's me trying to extinguish the flame
16:31 with my garden hose.
16:33 The fire quickly spread to our home
16:35 causing over $700,000 of damage and at 3 o'clock in the morning,
16:39 we saw almost all the people that lived on our street
16:43 that came out of their house.
16:45 They left their warm beds and they're out in the cold street
16:48 to watch the fire and as I saw that, I was thinking,
16:51 "Man, what was it that caused them to leave their beds
16:54 to wake these people up to come out to the cold street?"
16:57 There's something about fire that awakens people.
17:01 There's something about fire that brings people together
17:05 in times of coldness and darkness
17:07 and my friends, this was the experience
17:10 of the early apostolic church.
17:11 Take your Bible and turn with me to the book of Acts chapter 2.
17:15 Acts chapter 2 where we read about the experience
17:20 of the original church.
17:21 The early apostolic church and how they had the fire of heaven.
17:26 Acts chapter 2 beginning with verse 1
17:29 and when you get there,
17:30 would you let me know by saying, "Amen. "
17:32 It says, "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
17:35 they were all in one accord in one place.
17:38 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven
17:41 as of a rushing mighty wind,
17:43 and it filled the house where they were sitting.
17:45 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of... "
17:49 what? "like as of fire,
17:51 and it sat upon each of them. "
17:53 Here we read Friends
17:55 of the experience of the apostles.
17:57 You see, before this,
17:59 they had experienced the tragedy... for them at least...
18:03 of the cross.
18:04 For the disciples, the cross was a time of great darkness
18:08 and great uncertainty.
18:09 However, in the upper room,
18:11 they had received the fire from heaven
18:13 and they finally understood the prophetic significance
18:16 of the cross
18:17 and the fire of heaven united them
18:20 in an unstoppable movement.
18:21 As the fire of the Holy Spirit fell upon that early church,
18:26 a wild fire of spiritual revival swept across the land,
18:30 bringing spiritual revolution to the whole world.
18:33 3,000 baptized in one day...
18:36 and the gospel's flame began to spread
18:38 to the ends of the earth.
18:40 As the lava of divine love flowed,
18:43 God's kingdom... the land mass of the kingdom of God
18:47 was enlarged
18:49 but I ask the question when I read this,
18:51 when I thought about their experience
18:53 and the wonderful success that they had,
18:55 why were their words so convincing?
18:58 What did they have that we lack?
19:01 Why is it that we're not experiencing
19:04 the power of Pentecost today?
19:07 What was their message about?
19:10 But the Bible says that they spoke with tongues of... what?
19:13 Fire...
19:15 you guys seem tired today,
19:18 you had a good Prayer Meeting last night, I'm sure,
19:22 laughing...
19:24 but if you feel tired, just shake yourself
19:26 and if you see someone next to you nodding off,
19:30 give them a sanctified nudge.
19:31 Laughing...
19:32 But the Bible says they spoke with tongues of fire,
19:35 now, tell me Friends, what is the purpose of a tongue?
19:37 Pause...
19:39 it's not only to taste good food
19:40 but the primary purpose of your tongue is to communicate.
19:44 So when I said, "They had tongues of fire"
19:46 it's because the message they communicated
19:48 was a fiery message.
19:50 It was a message of fire and brimstone
19:53 but not like how we think
19:55 and Friends, if we can...
19:56 if we can discover what their message was,
20:00 we will then be able to define what the fire is
20:04 that made all the difference for them
20:06 and would make all the difference for us.
20:08 So, what exactly was the main point
20:11 of that Pentecostal sermon?
20:13 Well, if you read in verse 36,
20:15 Peter is coming to the conclusion
20:18 and he is summarizing the main point of that sermon
20:20 that brought spiritual revolution to the world.
20:24 Notice, Acts 2 verse 36, it says, "Therefore... "
20:27 and that word "Therefore" is a conclusionary word,
20:30 Peter is about to articulate the main point of the sermon.
20:36 "Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly,
20:41 that God hath made that same Jesus,
20:45 whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ. "
20:50 Pause...
20:52 That's what the message was.
20:53 Now, we can define what the fire is,
20:57 the main point of that Pentecostal sermon
20:59 was that One that they counted as a criminal...
21:02 that they nailed to the cruel cross,
21:05 was indeed the Christ of God
21:09 and friends, when they realize that,
21:12 they understood that the fire was the burning love of God.
21:18 A love that can look into the face of His murderers
21:21 and say, "Father, forgive them...
21:23 they don't know what they're doing. "
21:25 It was a love that was shown within death,
21:28 a love that is stronger than sin,
21:31 you see, my friends, "to be on fire"
21:33 doesn't necessarily mean that
21:34 we are filled with evangelistic zeal
21:37 because there are many people that are zealous for Evangelism
21:40 but are cold like an arctic winter.
21:43 The reality is... is that to be on fire really is to be in love.
21:48 Amen...
21:50 and this love of God...
21:54 this unselfish love demonstrated at the cross...
21:57 it consumed the early church of their earthliness.
22:01 The fire of this love burned their unbelief,
22:04 it warmed the coldness of their heart,
22:07 it enlightened the darkness of their lives,
22:09 and then it began to spread to the ends of the earth,
22:12 to be on fire simply means, to be in love.
22:15 In fact, I want you to notice how the love song of the Bible,
22:17 the Song of Solomon, describes the love of God.
22:20 You know, when you want to get in touch with your romantic side
22:24 you read the book, Song of Solomon, right?
22:26 Smiling...
22:27 It's a love song...
22:29 a song between the husband and the bride
22:30 and notice what it says here,
22:31 Song of Solomon chapter 8 verses 6 and 7,
22:33 the Bible says, please write it down,
22:36 notice with me on the screen,
22:37 it says,
22:47 its flames are flames of... " what?
23:03 To be on fire simply means to be in love.
23:07 The apostles were consumed by God's love
23:10 and the flame was so intense
23:13 that the floods of persecution and opposition
23:15 could not quench that flame.
23:17 The church was drawn by the lava of Jesus' love
23:21 and now they were driven to share it to the whole world.
23:25 They were driven out of their comfort zone
23:27 to go to the end of the earth,
23:28 they were driven and drawn further beyond...
23:31 the church of God was on fire
23:34 and my friends, we've been told
23:36 that what happened back then is but a glimpse
23:39 of what God is wanting to repeat in the last days
23:41 with the remnant church.
23:43 We've been told that the former flame is...
23:46 is just a glimpse of...
23:47 of the greater latter flame of the last days
23:50 and God wants to be a part of that
23:52 final great spiritual reformation
23:53 a religious revolution that will set the whole world on fire
23:58 and it's up to you if you want to be a part of it.
24:01 It is called... in the Bible... the Elijah Message.
24:03 The Elijah generation...
24:05 individuals whose lives will be consumed by the fire of heaven,
24:10 Friends, how many of you want to be a part of that
24:12 final fiery movement? Amen.
24:14 Audience: Amen.
24:15 But in order to be a part of it,
24:17 we have to be driven and drawn further beyond.
24:20 But the question is this, where do we start?
24:25 Because before we can be drawn further beyond,
24:30 we got to start somewhere.
24:32 We got to start close to home.
24:34 So, where does the work of a World Changer...
24:37 a Heaven Filler...
24:39 a Destiny Transformer actually begin?
24:41 You know, the song says, "It only takes a spark
24:44 that gets a fire going. "
24:47 So, where does the spark begin?
24:49 where did it begin for them?
24:51 Well, our theme verse for this GYC
24:55 is Acts chapter 1 and verse 8.
24:56 Let's read that again,
24:57 the Bible says, "But you shall receive power.. "
25:01 that's the word "Dunamis"
25:03 of which we get the English word, "Dynamite. "
25:05 The power of God...
25:07 "... after that the Holy ghost is come upon you:
25:09 and you shall be witnesses unto me both in... "
25:11 where first?
25:13 "Jerusalem, and in Judaea, and in Samaria,
25:18 and unto the uttermost parts of the earth. "
25:20 And so we see according to the passage,
25:22 that the dynamite power of the Spirit
25:25 ignited this spiritual revolution
25:27 but the divine spark would first burn in Jerusalem.
25:32 In relation to the disciples, that was closest to home
25:36 but then the impact of that spark
25:39 would be like a... the ripple effect,
25:42 it would go from Jerusalem, then Judaea... then Samaria
25:45 then to the end... the uttermost parts of the world
25:48 and Friends, the principle...
25:51 the simple and profound principle from this
25:54 is that if you want to be a World Changer,
25:56 before you go to the end of the world,
25:58 you have to go to the end of your street.
26:00 You got to start at home first.
26:03 Be faithful in the little things.
26:07 Do the duty that lies nearest to you.
26:10 Don't worry about what you don't have,
26:13 just give what you got and God will give you more
26:16 and like Jesus, have a faithful regard
26:19 for the one soul audience...
26:23 the person that God places in your path from day to day
26:27 and Friends, this verse impacted me so profoundly
26:31 when I became a Christian.
26:33 You see, my journey in evangelism
26:35 started really when I was converted.
26:37 When I was 16 years old, I wasn't brought up in church
26:40 or any religion
26:42 and growing up, I had no idea about what the Bible taught
26:46 or what God was like
26:47 and the Lord saved me from that situation
26:50 and I gave my first sermon when I was 16 years old.
26:53 You should have heard it, it was terrible
26:54 pause...
26:56 but the Lord started giving me opportunities
26:58 and I just shared what I knew.
27:00 I went back to my old public high school
27:02 and I started giving Bible Studies
27:04 and I remember the first Bible Study I gave,
27:07 it was very simple, it was just five minutes long,
27:10 and three simple verses that I had highlighted in my Bible
27:13 and I just read those verses and I tried...
27:16 I kind of strung them together
27:17 and I read them with conviction and gave little comments
27:20 and I noticed that when I did that,
27:22 one of the... one of the sisters...
27:24 one of the classmates that was in the Bible Study,
27:26 started weeping uncontrollably
27:29 with conviction of her need of God.
27:32 Let me tell you Friends, when I saw that,
27:35 I was hooked...
27:36 I found a new "high" evangelism...
27:41 and I was... I said to myself,
27:43 "Man, I want to do this for the rest of my life. "
27:47 It let God use me to have that kind of impact on somebody else
27:52 and so, I started to... to lead out in Bible Studies
27:55 in that... in that public high school
27:57 and... and... and... the Lord blessed in a rich way.
28:00 You see, before I came to know Jesus,
28:02 I was on fire... but it was of the strange fire of Marijuana.
28:08 In Hawaii we call it "Pakalolo"
28:11 because when you smoke it, it makes you "lolo"
28:13 but when I found Jesus, He set me on fire with the Holy Spirit
28:19 and I would go back to my old friends
28:23 I used to do drugs with...
28:24 you know, they were trying to tempt me,
28:26 trying to get me back...
28:27 I would say, "No thanks, I found a new 'high'
28:29 I found the Most High... you ought to try it"
28:32 and they would listen,
28:33 they would come to these Bible Studies
28:36 that I held every day
28:37 and I wasn't trained to do... I didn't know what I was doing,
28:39 I simply shared what I knew as a high schooler
28:41 in public high school
28:43 and as a result of those Bible Studies,
28:45 six of my friends and their family members
28:47 made decisions and were baptized as well, amen.
28:50 Audience: Amen.
28:51 After graduating from High School,
28:54 I took a year off to work for God in my own hometown
28:57 and the reason why I chose that
28:58 is because I read Acts 1 verse 8,
29:00 the theme verse for our Conference
29:01 and I saw that God called the disciples
29:04 to burn in Jerusalem first, then Judaea... Samaria...
29:07 before they would go to the end and so, I was convicted
29:10 to... to... to... just stay home for a year
29:12 and be a missionary in my own hometown
29:14 and my objective for that year and my goal was,
29:16 I wanted to canvass every neighborhood
29:19 and knock on every door I could in that time period
29:22 in my hometown, offering Bible Studies and
29:24 and... and... and sharing Jesus with people in my own community.
29:28 Before ministering to strangers,
29:30 I wanted all my friends... my family...
29:33 those who I already had influence over,
29:36 to have an opportunity to hear the things I heard
29:39 and to know the Jesus that I had come to know...
29:43 my Friends, when I made that decision
29:45 to be a missionary in my own hometown,
29:46 no one told me to do it,
29:48 no one asked me to do it,
29:50 no one trained me to do it,
29:52 I didn't ask anyone permission, I simply did it
29:55 because that's the conviction God placed on my heart
29:57 according to Acts 1 and verse 8
29:59 and that was one of the greatest years...
30:02 my faith grew as I learned to trust God day by day.
30:06 God wants to use you to change your hometown...
30:11 your home church...
30:12 your school... your community...
30:15 if God can use an ex-druggie like me, He can use anyone, amen
30:19 but after that year was finished,
30:21 I was driven and drawn further beyond.
30:25 Went to two-year Bible College
30:27 in the dry, hot, arid desert of Arizona
30:29 and that was a burning experience
30:32 in more ways than one.
30:34 After that, I was hired by the Central California Conference
30:37 to do evangelism where my wife and I remained
30:40 for about 11 to 12 years
30:41 and there are too many stories, too little time to tell it,
30:43 but what happened was this, Friends,
30:45 God was gradually spreading me out
30:46 and taking me further.
30:48 Acts 1 verse 8 tells us that Jesus called the disciples
30:51 to burn in Jerusalem first... closest to home...
30:54 then let this fire spread to the uttermost parts of the earth.
30:58 It's a divine precedent the Lord gives us to follow
31:02 and when you think about those who were World Changers,
31:06 there's one that stands out as a World Changer
31:09 of the highest order,
31:11 for me, it would be the Apostle Paul.
31:13 Paul lived out the great commission,
31:15 he was one that would spend
31:17 and be spent for the cause of Christ,
31:20 he saw the fire of love on the door to Damascus
31:23 and when he saw the divine flame ever afterward,
31:26 he was consumed by the gospel,
31:28 he wanted everyone to know what a precious friend
31:31 he had found in Jesus
31:32 and Paul was one who was driven and drawn
31:35 further beyond.
31:37 Take your Bible, let's go to the book of Romans chapter 15,
31:40 and I want you to notice the testimony of the Apostle Paul
31:42 to the church there at Rome.
31:44 Romans 15 beginning with verse 20,
31:48 the Apostle Paul is writing to the church there
31:51 and he is describing the consuming burden of his life.
31:56 Romans 15 verse 20
31:58 and if you're there, would you please say, "Amen. "
32:01 Romans 15:20, the apostle says, "It has always been my ambition
32:07 to preach the gospel where Christ was not known,
32:11 so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation. "
32:15 Verse 21, rather, it is written,
32:17 "Those who were not told about Him will see,
32:19 and those who have not heard will understand.
32:21 This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you. "
32:25 Here we read Paul's burning desire was to preach the gospel
32:30 in places where the name of Christ was not known
32:32 and by the time Paul is writing this epistle to the Romans,
32:36 he had already done several missionary trips
32:39 all over the Mediterranean Sea
32:41 and he had already suffered so much for the Savior.
32:44 Paul had experienced shipwreck three times,
32:47 he was shunned and he was smitten...
32:49 he was bruised and battered and beaten
32:51 but the fire continued to burn in his heart and ministry.
32:55 Paul had spoken to all kinds of people.
32:57 Many people all over the world... commoners and kings
33:01 and priests and princes and peasants,
33:03 he had spoken to men of great renown
33:05 and women of special significance,
33:07 and by this time,
33:08 he had saturated the regions thoroughly
33:11 and the fire of God was spreading rapidly.
33:14 and so, finished with Jerusalem,
33:17 Judaea and Samaria,
33:20 Paul is now heading to the uttermost parts of the earth
33:24 for there was one distant corner
33:26 of the then-known Mediterranean world,
33:27 that Paul longed to see...
33:30 notice where that place was in verse 23.
33:34 "But now... " Paul says,
33:36 "But now that there is no more place for me
33:39 to work in these regions,
33:41 and since I have been longing for many years to visit you,
33:44 I plan to do so when I go to... " where?
33:48 "when I go to Spain.
33:50 I hope to see you while passing through
33:52 and to have you assist me on my journey there,
33:55 after I've enjoyed your company for a little while. "
33:58 Here we see Friends, that the longing of Paul's heart
34:01 was for Spain
34:03 because Spain represents the uttermost parts of the earth.
34:09 You see, Spain was far away from Jerusalem,
34:13 Judaea and Samaria.
34:15 It was the absolute outskirts of the then-known world
34:18 and Friends, if you were to go to Spain today,
34:21 the country of Spain has a motto,
34:25 the motto of the country of Spain is Latin... PLVS VLTRA
34:29 and, do you know what that means?
34:31 Of course, you do, you see it on the screen.
34:33 It literally means, "Further Beyond. "
34:38 So, Paul's desire for Spain
34:40 was a desire to go "further beyond. "
34:45 You see, Spain was like the end
34:47 of the then-known Mediterranean world,
34:49 isolated and secluded... few had been there.
34:53 It wasn't an easy trip
34:55 and very few people attempted the journey
34:57 but Paul knew, Friends,
34:59 that in order to fulfill the gospel commission,
35:01 to finish the work... he had to go to Spain
35:05 which is the uttermost parts of the world
35:07 and so, for Paul, going to Spain meant,
35:10 finishing the work and going home.
35:12 That's why he wanted to go to Spain.
35:14 You know, there's somebody else in the Bible
35:17 that also wanted to go to Spain,
35:18 his name was Jonah.
35:20 Jonah wanted to go to Spain... Tarshish... that's Spain...
35:26 but he wanted to go there on vacation
35:28 but Paul was going there on a mission.
35:31 You see, Paul made it clear to the church at Rome
35:34 that he was just going to visit them on his way to Spain.
35:38 For Paul, Rome was just a brief pit stop,
35:42 Rome was the layover but Spain was the destination, why?
35:46 Because a church had already been established in Rome,
35:50 the gospel had already been preached there,
35:53 but Spain was still untouched territory
35:56 and so, Paul's desire for Spain
35:59 is because he was driven and drawn further beyond
36:03 and my Friends, in the same way,
36:07 God is calling us to go to Spain
36:10 to finish His work in this generation,
36:14 to take the gospel commission to the end...
36:19 to its final fulfillment.
36:20 You see, my Brothers and my Sisters,
36:22 Spain represents going outside of our comfort zone for Christ,
36:25 entering that which is not familiar with us,
36:29 moving beyond that which is pleasing to us,
36:32 letting God bring us to the end of ourselves
36:35 that we might have a new beginning in Him
36:37 but tragically... unfortunately
36:41 too many of us have stayed in Rome
36:44 and have never gone to Spain.
36:47 We've stopped short of fulfilling the mission.
36:50 We've fallen short of reaching our full potential.
36:53 Perhaps we've been attracted and distracted
36:55 by the luxuries and the comforts of the Roman palaces
36:59 or the excitement of the Roman games,
37:02 many people have made Rome their home
37:04 and forgotten their mission to Spain,
37:07 we've gone part of the way
37:08 but not all the way in our walk with Jesus,
37:11 we've been content with fulfilling
37:13 only a fraction of the will of God,
37:15 we've been comfortable in complacency
37:17 and lazy and Laodicean luke-warmness,
37:20 we have forgotten that Rome was a part of the journey
37:23 but not the destination
37:24 and that God has something greater and grander
37:27 and more glorious for us in Spain
37:29 and so I want to ask you the question today young people,
37:32 "Where is your Spain?"
37:33 The specific mission that God is calling you to fulfill
37:39 pause...
37:40 and what Roman pleasure is hindering you... stopping you
37:45 from going to Spain?
37:47 Is it a relationship that's more important to you than God?
37:53 Or maybe it's a job...
37:55 a profession that's consuming all your time.
37:59 Maybe it's materialism that's consuming all your space,
38:05 maybe it's worldly pleasure,
38:07 maybe it's your love of ease... your love of comfort
38:10 that stops you from going to Spain
38:12 and that is keeping you in the comfort zone of Rome.
38:15 My Friends, what in the world is holding you back?
38:18 Is it really worth it?
38:20 What is it in your life
38:23 that is stopping you from reaching your full potential...
38:27 that stops you from being all that you can be for the Lord?
38:31 My Friends, somebody said it like this,
38:33 "You can't discover new oceans
38:35 unless you're willing to lose sight of the shore. "
38:39 You see, just like my trip to Kalapana,
38:43 I had to go past the paved easy pathway
38:46 in order to see the fire
38:49 and Friends, if we want to be a World Changer...
38:52 a Heaven Filler...
38:54 a Destiny Transformer...
38:56 we have to be driven and drawn to go further beyond
39:00 and by the grace of God let's do it, what do you say? Amen.
39:04 Audience: Amen.
39:06 How many of you want to be a World Changer?
39:07 Don't you want to be a Heaven Filler
39:09 and a Destiny Transformer?
39:11 Friends, I can't think of anything else to do with life
39:12 that's more fulfilling than that.
39:14 To be able to...
39:16 to be able let God use... use us...
39:18 our time, our talents, our treasures, our testimony,
39:22 to make an eternal impact on somebody else
39:26 and so, my wife and I were in Central California Conference
39:32 for at least 11 years... almost 11 years
39:34 and though we were not formally qualified for the position,
39:39 according to the "short-sighted standards of men"
39:43 I'm so grateful that the Conference
39:46 was very supportive of us,
39:47 they had heaven's vision for true ordination
39:50 and we were there... we had a wonderful time there
39:53 and after conducting over 50 Evangelistic Seminars
39:56 all over the Conference territory,
39:58 we began to feel a growing conviction in our hearts
40:02 that the time was coming for us to go further beyond
40:06 to step out in faith
40:08 and take the message into new territory,
40:10 there was a growing conviction for us to go beyond the borders
40:14 of a single geographical location,
40:16 you see, we had become comfortable
40:18 witnessing in our own but...
40:19 but now, it was time for us to go our Spain...
40:22 to the uttermost parts of the earth.
40:24 Now, we could have remained in the... in the Conference
40:28 as the Conference Evangelist forever...
40:30 I mean, everyone... we experienced great success,
40:33 the Conference was supported, everyone loved us,
40:35 and, by-the-way, they... they could not love us,
40:37 we didn't stay long enough for them to not love us,
40:40 we are in one church for three-four weeks
40:41 and after that, we moved to the next church
40:43 pause...
40:45 and so, it would have been good for us to stay there,
40:47 we could have stayed there but it wouldn't have been best.
40:50 You see, good is the enemy of the best
40:53 and God does not lead everyone in the exact same way
40:57 but for us, at that point, we had this conviction
41:01 that God was driving us further beyond
41:04 and so, after much prayer, Godly counsel
41:07 and with the blessing and support of the Conference,
41:08 we made the decision to resign
41:10 from the comfortable Conference position,
41:13 to step out in faith into new territory.
41:15 We then officially began our own supporting ministry,
41:19 Revelation of Hope Ministries.
41:21 Now, we no longer work for the Conference
41:23 or the Church... we work for God
41:25 but we work with the Conference... with the Church...
41:28 helping our churches to grow and to become revived
41:31 and to grow in Evangelistic Outreach.
41:34 Our goal is to change the population of heaven
41:37 one soul at a time
41:39 by sharing the hope, health and harmony of heaven
41:42 in all the world...
41:43 not in one singular geographical location
41:45 but to the whole world
41:46 and so, we resigned and we moved back home to Hawaii,
41:49 because that's where we were born and raised
41:51 we made Hawaii our home base
41:52 but from there we'd go to the ends of the earth,
41:54 wherever God leads, we would go...
41:56 we are only there for about
41:57 three months out of the year spread out,
41:59 after that we just live the simple mission life
42:01 going wherever the Lord leads,
42:02 my wife and I... we travel together
42:04 to protect our ministry and our marriage.
42:07 Audience: Amen.
42:09 And Friends, when we made that decision,
42:10 for the first three years...
42:12 since three years ago, we made the decision...
42:15 the Lord has taken us to over 30 countries...
42:17 multiple States in the United States
42:20 and tomorrow, we go to Philippines...
42:22 this year, we're heading to Russia and England and Australia
42:25 and Germany... and...
42:27 Friends, it's just amazing to think that... that...
42:29 that God has blessed us and privileged us
42:31 to be a part of this wonderful, prophetic movement of destiny
42:34 to make a difference for all eternity
42:36 is a great privilege.
42:40 I share that to say this
42:43 that in resigning from that comfortable Conference position,
42:47 we were not stepping from one position into another,
42:51 we were stepping out in faith like Abraham,
42:54 not really sure how it was going to work out
42:57 and let me tell you Friends,
42:58 it wasn't easy to turn down the...
43:00 the... the... the financial security of a monthly paycheck.
43:03 It was difficult to say, "Goodbye"
43:05 to that awesome health insurance we had
43:07 because you know with the Conference health insurance...
43:09 we had 50 free massages every single... excuse me...
43:13 30 free massages every year, I wish we had 50...
43:16 and you can be sure that we used every single one of them
43:19 pause...
43:21 and so, it was hard but we knew that if it was God's will,
43:25 it's His bill, amen...
43:26 and though we no longer have health insurance,
43:29 we have heaven's assurance,
43:30 you know what heaven's assurance is?
43:31 Eat right,
43:33 sleep tight,
43:34 don't fight,
43:36 ride a bike,
43:37 go on a hike,
43:38 get sunlight,
43:40 don't be uptight,
43:41 and keep the Lord in sight, amen.
43:44 Audience: Clapping.
43:47 That's heaven's assurance, Friends,
43:49 it keeps you young,
43:50 it keeps you healthy...
43:51 and so, though we no longer have an official title,
43:55 position or Conference paycheck,
43:57 what we do have is the evidence
43:58 that we're in the center of God's will
44:00 and in the protection of His hand
44:02 and we have the sublime peace that passes understanding,
44:06 something that money can't buy
44:07 and man can't give you by the laying on of hands,
44:10 listen, listen, listen Friends,
44:11 a title, a position and a paycheck is nice
44:15 but it's not necessary.
44:16 What is necessary is the faith and willingness
44:20 to trust God and let Him lead you
44:22 knowing that if God is leading you,
44:24 He would never lead you astray...
44:25 that He knows what's best for us
44:27 and He has our best interest in mind
44:29 all the time
44:31 and so, I want to challenge you Friends,
44:32 to live a life without any limits,
44:34 because only a life lived without limits
44:37 is a life lived without regrets
44:41 and how shall we live such a life?
44:44 The book, "The Desire of Ages" page 250 says this,
44:46 "There is NO LIMIT
44:49 to the usefulness of one who, by putting self aside,
44:54 makes room for the working of the Holy Spirit
44:56 upon his heart,
44:58 and lives a life wholly consecrated to God. "
45:02 Oh, Friends, that's the life I want to live, how about you?
45:05 Amen...
45:07 My Friends, listen, if God is calling you to Spain,
45:10 don't stay in Rome.
45:12 Don't make Rome your comfort zone or your home.
45:17 True World Changers... Heaven Fillers...
45:21 Destiny Transformers...
45:22 will be driven and drawn to go further beyond.
45:26 But the record tells us
45:29 that tragically Paul never made it to Spain.
45:33 His dream for Spain was cut short by the sword of Nero,
45:39 he died in Rome and Spain was an unreached destination,
45:44 but Friends, listen, here's the good news,
45:46 though Paul did not physically make it to Spain,
45:49 we can go in his place.
45:52 We can be the answer for Paul's longing for Spain,
45:55 you see, there was never an epistle written to the Spanish.
45:59 That book of the Bible was never written
46:02 but the Apostle Paul said, we are the epistle of Christ
46:06 known and read of all men
46:07 and so, we can go as the epistle to Spain,
46:11 so, what are the Spains in your life?
46:13 The places and the people that you've...
46:17 you've never made it to you.
46:19 The sights and sounds and smells you get to experience...
46:22 the goals you get to reach...
46:24 the dreams you get to fulfill,
46:25 the mission you've yet to accomplish,
46:27 the message you've yet to give,
46:29 the people you've yet to apologize to
46:32 and the person you have yet to forgive.
46:35 Where is your "Spain" friend?
46:36 You see, Spain is an unreached place for Jesus,
46:40 it's not a bigger paycheck, a comfortable home or fancy car,
46:44 Spain is a world that needs to be won for Christ.
46:47 Spain is a child that needs guidance,
46:50 a teenager that needs purpose,
46:52 Spain is a father that needs strength...
46:54 a mother that needs encouragement...
46:56 a spouse that needs love...
46:58 Spain is a pastor that needs your support.
47:01 Spain is a ministry that needs funding...
47:04 a stranger that needs a friend...
47:06 an enemy that needs kindness...
47:07 a sinner that needs forgiveness...
47:09 Spain is a world that needs Jesus...
47:11 do you have a "Spain" in your life?
47:13 In your community?
47:15 In your academy... your school...
47:17 your job... or maybe in your home...
47:20 maybe there's a Spain in the bed that you sleep in
47:23 that needs to be won for Jesus.
47:26 Pause...
47:28 What stands between you and going to Spain...
47:32 the Spain that God is calling you?
47:35 Perhaps, Friends,
47:37 you've made the comfort zone of Rome your home
47:39 but you find no comfort,
47:41 tell God today, "Lord, take me to Spain"
47:44 maybe you've been living your life for the unholy trinity
47:48 of me, myself and I...
47:50 and you recognize that a life lived for self is a wasted life,
47:53 tell God today, "Lord, take me to Spain. "
47:56 Perhaps you want to go in half-way
47:58 in your commitment to Christ.
47:59 You've stopped short of a full surrender and a full commitment,
48:03 tell God today, "Lord, take me to Spain,
48:05 take me where I've never been before,
48:07 do through me what I've never done before,
48:09 take me further than I've ever gone before,
48:11 Lord, help me to be driven and drawn further beyond
48:15 because the beautiful thing, Friends,
48:16 is that God wants to use us... the weakest generation
48:21 to do the greatest work of the last days.
48:23 He wants to use us to reach the deepest,
48:26 darkest corners of our world
48:28 but Friends, before we can reach the deepest,
48:31 darkest corners of the world,
48:33 we first must let God reach the deepest,
48:36 darkest corners of our hearts...
48:39 the areas of our life that's off limits to God.
48:43 The places of pleasure that we run to for rest,
48:46 but that can't really give us rest,
48:49 pause...
48:51 and the beautiful reality of the gospel is this,
48:54 Jesus came to the darkest, dimmest corner of this universe.
49:01 He left the comforts of the heavenly New Jerusalem
49:05 and He came to Planet Spain just for you and just for me.
49:13 Jesus was willing to go to Spain.
49:16 He was driven and drawn further beyond.
49:21 It has been said that man would swim the deepest ocean
49:26 and climb the highest mountain to be with the one he loves,
49:30 you and I know that that's not true,
49:33 it sounds romantic but it's not practical.
49:37 Why would you need to swim across an ocean
49:39 when you can catch an airplane?
49:41 You don't have to climb the highest mountain
49:43 because there's not sister up there waiting for you,
49:45 it's romantic but it's not practical
49:48 but then we hear Jesus speaking to us... saying to us,
49:52 "I never swam the deepest ocean
49:54 but I walked on the raging sea to be with you
49:58 and I never climbed the highest mountain
50:02 but I climbed up Mount Calvary and I hung upon the cross
50:07 just to be with you. "
50:10 Jesus went the distance for you,
50:14 He went out of the comfort zone for you,
50:16 He was driven and drawn further beyond... for you,
50:19 He was willing to do it for you.
50:21 The question is, "Are you willing to do it for Him?"
50:24 You were worth it to Him,
50:28 is He worth it to you?
50:31 I want to close with this very inspiring story
50:35 about a young man, his name... Jim Elliot,
50:38 some of you have heard this story before,
50:41 he was a gifted man that had a successful career
50:45 of ministry ahead of him,
50:47 after graduating, he had the option of doing ministry
50:51 here in the United States,
50:52 this was in the 1950s but that was a good option
50:55 but for Jim, it wasn't best,
50:56 you see, he considered the churches of the United States,
50:59 "Well-fed churches"
51:00 and so, the burden that got laid upon his heart
51:04 was to go further beyond.
51:06 His prayer was this, "God, I pray Thee,
51:10 light these idle sticks of my life
51:13 and may I burn for Thee.
51:16 Consume my life, my God, for it is Thine.
51:20 I seek not a long life,
51:22 but a full one, like you, Lord Jesus. "
51:25 And so, the fire of God compelled Jim
51:27 and four other missionary couples
51:30 to go further beyond...
51:31 their names, Jim and Elisabeth Elliot
51:34 Nate and Marge Saint, Roger and Barbara Youderian,
51:37 Ed and Marilou McCulley, Pete and Olive Fleming
51:40 these men and their wives left the United States
51:43 and they made their way to the jungles of Ecuador.
51:46 Their burden was to reach the fierce and dangerous
51:49 Waodoni tribe...
51:51 a tribe that settled disputes with spears.
51:54 For them, there's no such thing as diplomacy or talking it out,
51:58 if they had a disagreement,
51:59 they would murder each other with spears,
52:01 they had the highest murder rate per capita
52:03 they had no outside contact with the world,
52:06 and everyone was afraid of them
52:08 and so when Jim heard about this unreached tribe,
52:11 he was not moved by the danger,
52:14 but he was moved by the fire of heaven
52:16 to share the warmth of the gospel with these people
52:20 and so they devised... they moved there to Ecuador
52:23 and they started to devise a plan
52:25 to win the confidence of the locals,
52:26 so they would fly over the tribe, deep in the jungle
52:29 on an airplane and they would drop care packages of food
52:33 and tools and other gifts for over several months
52:36 trying to win the confidence of the people
52:38 and finally the day would come when they would land the plane
52:41 and make contact with this fierce and dangerous tribe.
52:44 Everyone was praying for their success
52:46 and God answered their prayers,
52:48 this is actually a picture of that first encounter they had
52:51 with this unreached tribe,
52:53 God had answered their prayers
52:55 and they were rejoicing in Jesus
52:57 but when they went back the second time,
53:01 all five of those missionaries were murdered...
53:07 they were speared to death just like Jesus
53:11 they were brutally murdered by those
53:15 who they were trying to save
53:16 and every single one of those five brothers
53:19 were in their 20s...
53:21 they knew the risk...
53:22 they understood the danger...
53:25 and yet they were willing to get out of the comfort zone of Rome
53:29 to go to Spain.
53:31 My Friends, listen,
53:32 God did not guarantee that there would be no pain in Spain.
53:42 Just like Jim and just like Jesus.
53:45 At times, we will experience pain
53:49 when we go to Spain.
53:51 If not physical pain, for sure, growing pains,
53:56 but through the pain people will...
54:00 will be able to see that divine flame
54:04 and they will come to know of Jesus' mighty name...
54:09 the loving Lord who came to remove the shame
54:14 and so, my brothers and sisters
54:15 despite the pain, let's go to Spain...
54:18 out of the comfort zone for the cause of Christ.
54:23 Jim was that missionary martyr who said these words,
54:27 and I quote, here's what Jim Elliot said,
54:31 "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep
54:34 to gain what he cannot lose. "
54:37 Jim and his friends lived by the same...
54:40 they gave their lives for the cause of Christ,
54:43 they gave themselves completely away to be used of God,
54:46 they found a cause for which they were willing to die,
54:49 listen Friends, a life without a cause
54:51 is a life without effect
54:53 and their life was not without effect,
54:55 their death was not in vain
54:57 for in losing their lives, they were able to find it.
55:01 Now let me tell you the end of the story.
55:05 Their widow wives and children continued to work
55:10 amongst the tribe that had murdered their husbands
55:14 and their fathers.
55:16 The widowed wives and their children continued
55:18 and they established relationships
55:19 over a period of time with the Waodoni Tribe,
55:21 they actually became a part of the tribe,
55:24 they moved in with the tribe
55:26 and these widowed mothers
55:28 actually raised their children in that tribe
55:31 and when they won their confidence,
55:33 they started to contextualize the gospel...
55:35 they talked to the Waodoni about the Creator
55:38 that has a huge hut in the heavens,
55:40 and that this Creator has left a trail through the jungle
55:44 leading to that hut
55:45 and along that trail there are carvings on the tree
55:48 that shows them the way
55:50 and one of the carvings says, "Thou shalt not kill. "
55:53 And as they started learning God's will,
55:57 the Waodoni Tribe... they lay down their spears
56:00 and they picked up the sword of the Spirit...
56:02 the Word of God
56:04 and today, Friends, that tribe is a Christian tribe
56:07 accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ, amen...
56:10 but you know what moves me the most with this story?
56:15 Is that those five missionary martyrs...
56:19 they do not know the end of the story.
56:24 The last thing they saw was the end of the spear,
56:29 can you imagine what a day of rejoicing that will be
56:34 when we all get to heaven
56:36 and those missionary martyrs that were speared to death,
56:41 they see in heaven, those people that speared them
56:46 that tribe that that... that that...
56:47 that... that took their lives...
56:49 can you imagine the joy that will be theirs
56:54 seeing those whom they had died for
56:56 eternally saved because of their sacrifice...
56:59 that's going to be the end of their story.
57:02 The question is, what will be the end of your story?
57:05 How will the book of your life finish?
57:09 how will the song of your story come to an end?
57:13 Oh Friends, God has revealed to us in the book of Revelation
57:17 how our story can end?
57:20 That is what the great multitude
57:23 standing on the sea of glass mingled with fire...
57:27 with golden crowns on their brow
57:30 and palm branches of victory in their hands
57:32 and as you think about that great multitude,
57:34 standing on the sea of glass with fire,
57:36 the question is,
57:38 which part of that great throng will be there
57:40 because of you?
57:41 What part of God's dream is linked with your destiny?
57:46 Who will be in heaven because of your flame?
57:50 Who will be in heaven because you chose to go to Spain?
57:55 The bottom line is this, Friends,
57:58 Jesus gave all for us.
58:03 Now he's calling us to give all for Him.
58:09 Music.
