00:02 Hello there. Happy Sabbath.
00:04 Come on in, we're about to meet with the King.
00:42 Good day, I'm Uncle Daniel,
00:44 and it's great to have you join us
00:45 from wherever you are watching around the world.
00:48 We pray you will have a rich blessing
00:50 from opening the Sabbath with us
00:52 in the song and Bible study.
00:54 Hello, Aunt Leah, and hello, boys and girls.
00:57 Hi, Uncle Daniel.
00:59 I like to say hello to Stan and Kathy
01:01 who are today with the King.
01:03 They live in Durham, Pandie, a town in South Queensland
01:06 where they grow lots of wheat.
01:08 Hello! Hi.
01:11 Tamia, would you please say a prayer for us
01:14 to welcome the Holy Spirit?
01:16 Dear Lord, thank You for the blessings
01:18 of the past week.
01:20 We asked for the Holy Spirit to teach us Your truth.
01:23 In Jesus' name, amen.
01:25 Aunty Leah, what Bible gem do we have this time?
01:28 I'll get you to find that in a moment.
01:30 But first of all,
01:31 what did you think of all those strange animals
01:33 in the Bible study last week?
01:35 Weird, scary.
01:37 Just as we're all going on our treasure hunt,
01:39 so we can understand
01:41 what some of these symbols mean?
01:42 Did our clues help you to understand Daniel's dream?
01:44 Yes.
01:46 It's becoming very clear that Daniel was given
01:49 the same prophecy as King Nebuchadnezzar,
01:52 but Daniel was given additional information,
01:55 particularly more information that relates to our time,
01:58 so that's very exciting.
02:00 Later in our Bible study,
02:02 we'll learn more about some animals symbols.
02:05 The prophecy given in the dream to King Nebuchadnezzar
02:08 was so important
02:09 that God repeated twice more in dreams to Daniel.
02:13 And hundreds of years later, God gave even more details
02:17 about the time period of the toes
02:19 in King Nebuchadnezzar's dream
02:21 to the Apostle John, who is one of Jesus' disciples.
02:25 But we have to study Revelation,
02:27 the prophetic book that John wrote
02:29 to understand more prophecies
02:31 relating to our time and the near future.
02:33 Okay, Bethany, we're ready to open the jewel box now.
02:36 Can you please get the gemstone out for us?
02:43 It's a pretty emerald one.
02:44 Oh, isn't it gorgeous?
02:45 What's the Bible reference?
02:47 2 Chronicles 20:20.
02:50 Caleb, would you mind reading that for us?
02:52 Sure.
02:55 "Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established,
02:59 believe His prophets, and you shall prosper."
03:02 What a wonderful promise.
03:04 God will richly bless our lives if we believe
03:07 and obey the messages and warnings
03:09 He gives us through His servants,
03:11 the prophets.
03:12 These prophecies also help us share our faith with others.
03:16 Bethany, we're ready for the clue in our jewel box,
03:18 can you read that?
03:24 Fulfilled prophecy show us that the Bible is God's Word,
03:27 not just man's word.
03:29 Yes, it's like God's unique signature.
03:33 The Bible is divine.
03:34 It speaks the truth
03:35 right from how the world was made
03:37 down to how it's going to end.
03:40 It speaks the truth that Jesus died for our sins,
03:42 and rose again,
03:44 and then He offers forgiveness to us and eternal life.
03:48 And it's our privilege and duty
03:50 to share this wonderful news with confidence.
03:52 So keep studying these prophecies
03:54 until you understand them
03:56 and talk about it to your friends.
03:58 It will build their trust in the Bible too.
04:00 Thanks, Aunty Leah,
04:02 learning about prophecy is helping me
04:03 to trust in the Bible more.
04:05 Braedan's here, do you have any one new song to teach us with?
04:08 Hello, Braedan!
04:10 Hi, everyone.
04:11 Let's start by singing a Sabbath song.
04:13 We're going to sing "Don't Forget the Sabbath."
04:22 Don't forget the Sabbath The Lord our God hath blest
04:27 Of all the week the brightest Of all the week the best
04:31 It brings repose from labor It tells of joy divine
04:36 Its beams of light descending With heavenly beauty shine
04:41 Welcome, welcome, ever welcome Blessed Sabbath day
04:45 Welcome, welcome, ever welcome Blessed Sabbath day
04:51 Braedan, can we please sing "The Books Are Open?"
04:54 We can.
04:55 This is a beautiful song that talks about Jesus
04:57 as our high priest in heaven.
04:58 Let's sing it together.
05:04 Oh there were two thousand, three hundred days
05:09 For the people to learn of God's ways
05:14 At the end of this time God would draw a great big line
05:19 And then He said the judgment would begin
05:23 The books are open It is the time of the end
05:29 But we don't have to fear Because the Judge is our friend
05:33 The books are open
05:36 And Jesus' arms are open wide
05:39 Our God's a God of love
05:43 He's on our side
05:47 Braedan, can we sing "With All Your Heart?"
05:50 That's another great scripture song.
05:51 Let's sing it together.
05:58 You will seek Me and find Me
06:02 When you seek Me with all your heart
06:06 You will seek Me and find Me
06:10 When you seek Me with all your heart
06:15 You will seek Me and find Me
06:19 When you seek Me with all your heart
06:23 Jeremiah 29:13
06:31 Thanks, Braedan, I like those new songs we learnt.
06:34 We also like story time with Dr. John, let's go.
06:38 Hello, boys and girls, I'm Dr. John,
06:40 and I'm so glad you're with me today.
06:43 And special hello to the boys and girls
06:45 watching right around the world.
06:48 A little girl once, very pretty,
06:53 but she had a problem.
06:56 It was to do with anger.
06:59 And she was rather naughty,
07:01 but I have chosen
07:02 such a sweet little assistant this morning, Alicia.
07:06 And Alicia is going to show you that cranky face.
07:16 And whenever she didn't get her own way,
07:20 she would do that, and she would stamp her feet,
07:23 and she would scream,
07:26 and people were so scared of her,
07:28 she got her own way all the time.
07:31 And one day she was walking down the road
07:35 with her cranky face.
07:37 And there was an old man called William Rogers
07:40 working in the garden.
07:42 He said, "Hello, sweetie."
07:49 Well, she thought that was nice.
07:51 He told her a story from the Bible,
07:53 had a little prayer with her, and said, "God bless you."
07:57 And she went away feeling a lot happier.
08:00 Well, not long after that,
08:04 she went into her Grandpa's office.
08:06 And her grandpa was a judge.
08:11 And when she got there,
08:12 she saw Mr. Rogers with handcuffs on,
08:17 sitting outside.
08:18 She said,
08:20 "What's the matter, Mr. Rogers?"
08:22 "I'm going to jail
08:24 because I was preaching on the Sabbath,
08:27 and the judge is going to send me
08:29 and my friends to jail."
08:33 "Who, the judge?
08:36 That's my Grandpa."
08:38 And she went in there,
08:39 and she hit the door with her fist.
08:45 "Go away."
08:46 Kicked the door,
08:48 and she butted the door with her head.
08:51 And Grandpa,
08:53 the judge, he was sitting inside.
08:58 He was wearing the judge's wig.
09:02 Finally, he said, "What's the matter?"
09:04 And she came in and said, "Grandpa,
09:07 you will let Mr. Rogers go
09:10 or I will drown myself in the lake."
09:15 Well, she has such a bad temper.
09:18 Grandpa said, "All right,
09:20 don't drown yourself in the lake."
09:22 She went and got outside, she said to Mr. Rogers,
09:27 "You'll be okay."
09:28 And Grandpa came out, he put his wig on,
09:31 he want to look important.
09:35 And he said, "Here is your sentence,"
09:38 and he tore it up.
09:43 Alicia, give me a smile.
09:47 And she went away happy and so Mr. Rogers.
09:50 You know, she grew up a bit cranky.
09:53 She married, her name became Mrs. Tulie,
09:57 and she was very rich.
10:00 And she was very cranky.
10:03 And finally, she went to the doctor, and she said,
10:05 "Doctor, I am such an angry person."
10:10 And the doctor looks at her,
10:12 he was a Christian doctor, and he said,
10:14 "You need to discover God."
10:19 She went home and she had a dream
10:21 that if she went to a certain church,
10:23 she would meet a pastor,
10:25 and he would say a text for her.
10:30 So she went to a church called Cheapside Lane.
10:34 And when she got in there, she saw the pastor preaching,
10:38 and she thought, that's the pastor in my dream.
10:43 I wonder whether he will say the text,
10:45 and he did.
10:47 "Be at rest once more oh, my soul,
10:50 for the Lord has been good to you."
10:52 Psalm 116.
10:55 And, you know, she gave her life to Jesus,
10:59 and the man who was preaching the sermon,
11:02 his name was Timothy, Timothy Rogers,
11:06 and he told her the story about his father
11:09 and the cranky little girl who saved his life
11:12 and she said,
11:13 "Mr. Rogers, I was that little girl,
11:18 and Jesus has come into my heart."
11:21 Isn't that beautiful?
11:22 God uses little cranky little girls.
11:25 Thank you, boys and girls.
11:27 Welcome to our Bible study time.
11:29 Open your Bibles to Daniel Chapter 8.
11:31 We're going to learn about
11:33 the longest time prophecy in the Bible.
11:35 But first, we must pray for understanding.
11:37 Jeremiah, would you please do that for us?
11:42 Dear, God, thank You for fulfilled prophecies
11:45 that build Your trust in You.
11:47 Please help us and the children at home
11:49 to understand what we read.
11:51 In Jesus' name, amen.
11:52 Amen. Amen.
11:54 Thank you, Jeremiah.
11:55 Bryce, do you remember
11:57 what we learned about last week?
11:59 We learned that Daniel had a dream
12:01 about four animals.
12:02 Yes, those four animals represented four kingdoms.
12:06 And what did we learn about those kingdoms?
12:08 They were the same four kingdoms
12:10 from Nebuchadnezzar's dream.
12:12 Yes, today we'll learn about another vision
12:15 that Daniel had just before the fall of Babylon.
12:18 And to make it easier for us to understand,
12:21 God send His chief angel, Gabriel,
12:23 to explain the vision to Daniel.
12:26 As we'll see,
12:27 this vision parallels parts of previous visions.
12:30 This prophetic vision starts with the Medo-Persian kingdom
12:34 because Babylon is about to be conquered
12:36 and passed into history.
12:38 Aunty Leah,
12:39 could you please point to Medo-Persia on the statue.
12:45 Let's start by reading Daniel 8:3, 4.
12:50 Thanks, Jireh.
12:51 "Then I lifted up my eyes and saw there
12:53 standing beside the river was a ram which had two horns,
12:57 and the two horns were high,
12:58 but one was higher than the other,
13:00 and the higher one came up last."
13:02 Thank you.
13:04 Caleb, could you please read verse 4?
13:06 "I saw the ram
13:08 pushing westward, northward, and southward,
13:11 so that no animal could withstand him,
13:14 nor was there any
13:15 that could deliver from his hand,
13:18 but he did according to his will
13:20 and became great."
13:21 We don't have to guess
13:23 which kingdom this animal represents
13:25 because the Angel Gabriel tells us in verse 20,
13:29 that the ram represents the kings of Medes and Persia.
13:33 Then Daniel saw another animal in his vision.
13:36 Bryce, could you please read verse 5?
13:42 "And as I was considering,
13:43 suddenly a male goat came from the west,
13:46 across the surface of the whole earth,
13:48 without touching the ground,
13:49 and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes."
13:52 And, Chemiah, could you please read verse 6?
13:56 "Then he came to the ram...
13:59 "Then he came to the ram that had two horns,
14:02 which I had seen standing beside the river,
14:05 and ran at him with furious power."
14:08 And, Jeremiah, verse 7?
14:11 "And I saw him confronting the ram,
14:13 he was moved with rage against him,
14:16 attacked the ram, and broke his two horns.
14:18 There was no power in the ram to withstand him,
14:21 but he cast him down to the ground
14:23 and trampled him,
14:25 and there was no one that could deliver the ram
14:28 from his hand."
14:29 And, Sai, verse 8?
14:31 "Therefore the male goat grew very great,
14:34 but when he became strong, the large horn was broken,
14:38 and in place of it four notable ones came up
14:42 toward the four winds of heaven."
14:45 Aunty Leah, would you please read verse 21
14:48 where Angel Gabriel explains who the male goat represents?
14:51 Sure.
14:53 "And the male goat is the kingdom of Greece.
14:55 The large horn that is between his eyes
14:57 is the first king."
14:59 Now, Jireh, could you please read verse 22?
15:04 "As for the broken horn
15:05 and the four that stood up in its place,
15:08 four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation,
15:11 but not with its power."
15:13 We know from history
15:14 that Alexander the Great was the first king,
15:17 the greatest king on earth at that time.
15:21 He died suddenly when he was only 33 years old,
15:24 and his four generals
15:25 divided the kingdom amongst themselves,
15:28 but none of them ever achieved
15:30 the greatness of King Alexander.
15:32 Now, look at our chart.
15:34 What kingdom ruled the world after Greece?
15:38 Rome.
15:40 Yes, Rome was very powerful and cruel.
15:43 In verse 9, we learn more about the little horn power
15:46 we learned about last week.
15:48 It started off little, but grew and became very great.
15:51 Verse 10 tells us, it grew so big and powerful
15:55 that it grew up to the host of heaven.
15:57 This little horn power is more than a political power.
16:00 It also tries to make itself equal with God.
16:04 It tries to stand in the place of the prince of the host,
16:07 which is another name for Jesus.
16:10 Caleb, could you please read verse 11?
16:17 "He even exalted himself
16:19 as high as the Prince of the host,
16:21 and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away,
16:25 and the place of His sanctuary was cast down."
16:28 Thank you.
16:30 Bryce, could you please read verse 12?
16:32 "Because of transgression,
16:33 an army was given over to the horn
16:36 to oppose the daily sacrifices,
16:40 and he cast truth down to the ground.
16:42 He did all this and prospered."
16:45 This is sanctuary language,
16:47 so let's review what we know about the sanctuary.
16:50 That will help us to understand
16:51 what this little horn power is doing that is so wicked.
16:55 The sanctuary on earth
16:56 was a copy of the sanctuary in heaven.
16:58 The sanctuary services pointed to the work of Jesus
17:02 on our behalf.
17:04 Remember, Jesus is the only one who can forgive sins.
17:09 Verse 12 tells us this little horn power
17:11 tries to trample down
17:13 and take over Jesus' role in our salvation.
17:16 This little horn power sets up a false system of worship
17:20 and claims to be able to forgive sins.
17:22 If any human being or religious organization
17:25 claims to be able to forgive sins,
17:28 we know from the Bible that they are false
17:31 because 1 Timothy 2:5 says
17:33 that only Jesus can forgive our sins.
17:37 Let's all read this together as our memory verse.
17:44 Are we ready?
17:46 All right.
17:47 "For there is one God
17:49 and one Mediator between God and men,
17:53 the Man Christ Jesus."
17:56 Now, during this vision,
17:58 Daniel hears two angels talking,
18:01 one asks the other,
18:03 "How long this wicked little horn power
18:05 is going to crush out the truth about Jesus
18:08 as our only sin pardoning savior.
18:11 What is the other angel's response in verse 14?
18:14 Thanks, Chemiah.
18:17 "And he said to me,
18:18 for two thousand three hundred days,
18:22 then the sanctuary shall be cleansed."
18:25 Two thousand three hundred prophetic days
18:28 represents how many literal years?
18:31 Two thousand three hundred years?
18:35 Yes.
18:36 And on what day was the earthly sanctuary
18:38 cleansed of all the sins that have been confessed
18:40 during the year?
18:42 The Day of Judgment.
18:43 That's right.
18:44 That was the Day of Judgment.
18:46 So after 2,300 years,
18:49 the judgment in heaven was to begin.
18:52 The Day of Atonement
18:53 was the final opportunity for the people
18:55 to seek forgiveness for their sins.
18:58 Daniel felt overwhelmed by the prophecy
19:00 and fainted before Gabriel had a chance to explain
19:03 all of the vision to him.
19:05 But, our torchlight,
19:07 Mrs. White's writings in the book,
19:09 Royalty and Ruin, page 193,
19:12 "Shines encouraging light on our ability
19:14 to understand the prophecies of Daniel,
19:17 especially as we read them
19:19 alongside the Book of Revelation."
19:21 Jeremiah, can you please read that for us?
19:26 "The prophecies of Daniel demand our special attention,
19:30 because they relate to the time in which we are living.
19:34 We should read them
19:35 along with the last book of the New Testament.
19:38 The promise is plain
19:40 that special blessing will accompany
19:42 the study of these prophecies.
19:44 'The wise shall understand.'"
19:46 Fortunately, Gabriel returned at a later time
19:49 and gave more details to Daniel
19:51 about the start date of the 2,300 year period.
19:56 We'll discover next week
19:58 that we are living in the final Day of Atonement
20:01 or judgment period in world history.
20:04 So now is the time to confess and forsake all our sins
20:08 and faithfully follow Jesus day by day.
20:11 Jesus is now in the most holy place
20:14 in the heavenly sanctuary,
20:15 judging His professed people.
20:18 One of the last warning messages to us
20:20 in Revelation 14:7 says,
20:23 "We should honor, respect,
20:25 and worship the Creator God
20:27 for the hour of His judgment has come."
20:30 To study more about this,
20:31 here's Matthew and Caleigh to remind you
20:34 just how you can download today's devotional.
20:40 What do you want?
20:42 You bored?
20:43 Yes.
20:45 Look what I got.
20:48 Whoa!
20:50 Look at that! Cool.
20:52 Where did you get this?
20:54 adaywiththeking.com.
20:58 Thanks Matthew and Caleigh.
20:59 Uncle Daniel, what are we going to be learning about next week?
21:02 Well, next week,
21:03 we are going to discover a glorious prophecy,
21:06 one that proves Jesus of Nazareth
21:08 is who He claimed to be,
21:09 the divine Son of God who died for us and rose again.
21:13 And it's just as certain
21:15 that He will come back to take us home
21:17 to be with Him in heaven.
21:19 I can't wait for that day.
21:21 Is it time to say our memory verse?
21:23 Yes, it is.
21:24 Ready, everyone?
21:26 "For there is one God and one Mediator
21:30 between God and men,
21:32 the Man Christ Jesus."
21:34 1 Timothy 2:5.
21:38 Isn't it wonderful
21:39 that Jesus Himself bridge the gap
21:41 so our sins can be forgiven directly through Jesus?
21:45 Bethany, what did you learn about the King today?
21:48 That Jesus has given us prophecies about our time?
21:51 Isn't that so exciting?
21:53 It just shows
21:54 how much Jesus is interested in you and me.
21:57 He wants us to know
21:59 that He is there for us even today.
22:01 Uncle Daniel, is it time to sing our blessing song?
22:06 Yes, it is.
22:07 Time sure flies, doesn't it?
22:10 Would you like to sing along with us?
22:12 Ready, everyone?
22:18 May God bless you and keep you
22:23 And fill your heart with love
22:28 May God guide and protect you
22:33 And watch you from above
22:38 And Sabbath after Sabbath
22:43 We greet the day of rest
22:48 The day the king of glory
22:54 Has sanctified and blessed
22:59 Goodbye my friend till we meet again
23:04 For another day with the King
23:09 Goodbye!
23:10 Happy Sabbath!
23:20 I know Jesus loves me because He's blessed me
23:23 with amazing family and friends.
23:29 I know Jesus loves me because He keeps me safe
23:32 from day to day.
23:39 I know Jesus loves me because He gave me animals.
