00:01 Hello there! Happy Sabbath!
00:03 Come on in, we're about to meet with the King!
00:53 Hello, I'm Aunty Cecily and I'm so glad
00:56 you've come back to join us in our worship time.
00:59 And Aunty Nat, it's great to see you here as always!
01:02 Oh thanks Aunty Cecily, I'm so glad I'm here too,
01:06 and I wouldn't miss it!
01:07 And hello kids, how has your week been? Good!
01:11 Aunty Nat, my brother Elijah was baptized last Sabbath.
01:14 Oh Caleb, that must have been a wonderful blessing
01:16 for your family this past week.
01:18 You know boys and girls, Elijah used to be on
01:20 the "Day With the King," so it's wonderful that
01:22 he's taken a step in baptism.
01:24 Thank you, Caleb, for sharing that with us.
01:26 Now Aunty Nat, I know you want to send a big "Hello"
01:29 to some people who are watching our program each week.
01:32 Yes, we've been told that there are people watching us
01:35 in India and I want to say a big "Hello" to you all.
01:38 "HELLO!" Hello! Hello!
01:40 If you are watching us from India, drop us an
01:42 email and let us know, we would love to hear from you.
01:45 Our email address is now on the screen.
01:47 Aunt Cecily, have you been to India?
01:49 Only an airport stopover in Delhi,
01:52 but India is a fascinating country!
01:55 And talking about places to visit,
01:57 have you checked out Teddy on our website.
02:00 He's such an active bunny. and yet he sits
02:03 so quietly here on the sofa that you wouldn't even
02:06 hardly know he was here.
02:08 Hello Teddy! You're such a good bunny!
02:11 Aunty Nat, could you please say a prayer for us
02:14 before we commence our worship? Yes, I'd love to.
02:17 Dearest Heavenly Father... We just thank You
02:20 so much for being with us.
02:21 We thank You for our safe-keeping this last week;
02:24 we thank You, Lord, that we're here together to worship You;
02:27 we thank You for the Sabbath, and we just ask a special
02:30 blessing on the children at home.
02:32 In Jesus name... Amen, Amen!
02:35 Thanks Aunty Nat.
02:37 Do you know that I'm so glad that the Sabbath has arrived,
02:40 and that we can pause and spend time with our Lord.
02:43 Let's have a look at our blessing box
02:46 and see what kind of a blessing we can be
02:48 to someone else this Sabbath.
02:50 Bethany, can you open the box and read us a
02:53 blessing that we can share with someone else today? Yes.
02:57 "Make a card and give it to your Sabbath School teacher
03:00 to tell them how much you appreciate them."
03:03 Oh I'm sure they'd be very blessed by being told
03:05 that you appreciate them, what do you think Aunty Nat?
03:08 Oh, I think we don't do enough in stopping and thanking
03:11 God for placing such valuable people
03:13 in our lives to help us on our journey.
03:16 I think making a card to show how much we appreciate
03:19 them is a wonderful idea.
03:20 Now Aunty Cecily, you have something
03:22 to share with us as well.
03:24 You know we spoke last Sabbath about the
03:27 wonderful bodies that Jesus will give us when He returns,
03:31 but to remind us how much He loves us.
03:34 Jesus will retain for eternity the scars
03:37 that He received when dying on the cross.
03:40 We serve an amazing God.
03:43 Later in our Bible study, we'll discover what happened
03:47 to David when he was running away from Saul.
03:50 At times, David was in fear of his life.
03:53 Do you know, in heaven there'll be no more fear
03:57 or sadness.
03:58 There'll also be no more jealousy or violence,
04:01 and heaven will be a perfect place without sin.
04:05 It's hard for us to imagine, isn't it? Yes.
04:08 No, no one will be hurt anymore,
04:11 and no one will hurt anyone else anymore.
04:14 Revelation 21:4 says, "And God will wipe away every tear
04:20 from their eyes and they'll be no more death,
04:23 nor sorrow, nor crying and they'll be no more pain
04:28 for the former things have passed away."
04:30 Isn't that wonderful?
04:33 Do you know, the animals will not hurt one another either.
04:37 Listen to Isaiah 65:25: "The wolf and the lamb
04:42 shall feed together; the lion shall eat straw like the ox;
04:47 and the dust shall be the serpent's food.
04:49 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,"
04:54 says the Lord."
04:56 It's going to be a very safe place to live.
05:00 Imagine playing with animals all day and having no fear
05:04 of being hurt.
05:06 I'm putting my order in for a pet lion! Laughter.
05:10 Heaven is going to be a wonderful place to be,
05:12 isn't it? So let's believe and trust in God's promises.
05:16 Wow! Thanks Aunty Cecily for sharing that with us.
05:19 It sounds like heaven is going to be a wonderful place!
05:22 I'm especially looking forward
05:23 to spending time in eternity with Jesus.
05:26 Oh, look who has just arrived!
05:28 Pastor Rick, you are such a blessing to us!
05:30 Thank you for joining us in our worship time.
05:32 I'm so glad to be here at worship time,
05:34 particularly the Sabbath cause that is just a wonderful time.
05:37 And I have a song called, "We Gather to Meet With the King."
05:41 Can we sing it together, please? Yes! Okay.
06:24 Pastor Rick, can we please sing "Jesus is Coming?"
06:27 We certainly can. "Jesus is Coming Again"
07:29 Pastor Rick, can we please sing "God is So Good?"
07:33 Hmm, is God good? Yes! We can sing that then.
07:41 Ready?
08:26 Thanks Pastor Rick, we really enjoy your company
08:29 and your music.
08:31 And we never get tired of Dr. John's stories, do we?
08:35 He knows so many stories, let's go and see
08:38 if he has another one for us.
08:41 Hello boys and girls! I'm Dr. John,
08:43 and welcome to story time, and to all the other
08:46 boys and girls, we're really glad that you can be with us.
08:49 You know, of all the mission stories that are about
08:51 the Pacific Islands and lots of far places away,
08:55 but we have a mission field here in Australia
08:59 where the cleverest people you would ever imagine live,
09:03 and they are the Aboriginals.
09:04 And I have visited our Aboriginals in our schools
09:07 and I love going back because they are so smart!
09:11 I learned a lesson from them one day.
09:14 I had my phone which was a GPS and I went out in the bush,
09:18 and I found a tree stump and I put a 2-dollar coin
09:22 on the tree stump and I marked it on the GPS
09:25 and I went back to the school at Karaundi.
09:28 And I got all the boys and the girls and I said,
09:30 "Out there in the bush is a 2- dollar coin,
09:34 and this is how you find it with the GPS if you follow
09:38 the little dotted lines."
09:40 And the boys grabbed it and they said, "Shove off girls,
09:43 this is boys' stuff - we're going to find the money."
09:47 And they wouldn't let them and off they went,
09:49 and the boys were all arguing amongst themselves,
09:52 and the girls went off and found the money!
09:56 And I said, "How did you find the money without a GPS?"
09:59 "Sir, we just followed your tracks!"
10:01 They are so good at following tracks.
10:04 And this story is about Daisy and her two friends
10:08 who lived way up in a settlement called "Jigalong,"
10:13 past Karaundi, way over in West Australia,
10:16 way out in the desert.
10:18 And one day, policemen came and grabbed the three girls,
10:23 and they said, "You are not being looked after,
10:26 you will go with us and you will go down to a settlement
10:29 hundreds and hundreds of kilometers away,
10:32 600 kilometers away and there you will live,
10:37 and we will look after you and you will grow up,
10:40 and you will never see your family again because
10:42 they're not very good.
10:44 And these three poor girls
10:46 who were only between 8 and 14 years of age,
10:49 were put in a dormitory, but they didn't stay long.
10:55 They were smart Aboriginal girls!
10:58 And when no one was looking, they sneaked out,
11:01 and they ran, and they ran, and they ran.
11:05 And there were people looking for them, chasing them,
11:08 but they were smarter and they walked until they got to a fence
11:15 and they knew they had found the rabbit-proof fence.
11:20 You see, they had built this long fence with chicken wire
11:24 over a thousand kilometers long, to stop the rabbits
11:28 getting into West Australia.
11:31 And they knew that if they followed that fence
11:34 for long enough, they would get back to Jigalong,
11:37 and away they went!
11:38 You know, here is what Daisy might have looked like.
11:45 Quite a pretty little girl and those Aborigines,
11:49 you know, they had weapons.
11:52 Sometimes they would be beaten with a big stick
11:55 called a "nula nula."
11:57 And over here we have a "woomera"
12:02 for throwing spears.
12:04 You put the spear in there and throw it and we've
12:07 got a spear and I've got something that I can't
12:10 let you touch because it was only for men.
12:13 And this is called a "bullroarer."
12:17 And these all come from the Jigalong - they were given
12:21 to my uncle and grandfather many years ago.
12:24 And when a girl hears a bullroarer,
12:27 they are supposed to run away.
12:29 And you know, they tie a string and they wear it
12:33 around their head and it makes a roaring noise.
12:35 But those girls, they walked for days and weeks,
12:41 and they were so determined that they were going to get
12:44 home and nobody would stop them and finally they got home.
12:50 And they actually made a film about them and it is called,
12:54 "The Rabbit-Proof Fence," and this is what
12:58 the girls look like as they got older.
13:02 They weren't quite so pretty because they lived out
13:04 in the sun and they were very poor.
13:07 And one of them is still alive, here name is "Daisy,"
13:11 and she wrote her life story in 23 words.
13:18 That was all she could do and she attended our school
13:21 and her children at Wiluna which is near Karaundi
13:26 I come from Jigalong, they took me away but I walked
13:30 all around country back to where I was born - I came back.
13:34 That is a very moving story.
13:37 She went home and we are captured by the devil
13:42 and we are going home and Jesus is waiting for us.
13:46 Thank you boys and girls!
13:48 Hi boys and girls, welcome to our Bible study!
13:51 If you haven't got your Bibles ready yet,
13:53 go get them now so you can read along with us.
13:55 Aunty Cecily, would you like to
13:57 say a prayer for us please? Yes, I'd love to.
13:59 Dear Father in Heaven... We thank You so much
14:02 for the privilege of having free access to our Bibles
14:05 where we can learn about You.
14:07 We just pray that You'd help us to understand the things
14:10 we read and give us a heart to follow You, we pray,
14:14 and please bless all the boys and girls at home who are
14:17 joining us. In Jesus name... Amen, Amen!
14:20 Now Bethany, we studied about Samuel last week,
14:25 and how he anointed someone to be the next king,
14:27 can you remember who that was?
14:28 David... Yes it was David.
14:30 And do you know what, today we're going to find out
14:32 what happens to David because he gets up to some adventures.
14:36 Okay, Anna can you please read 1 Samuel 19:1-2.
14:41 "Now Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants
14:46 that they should kill David, but Jonathan, Saul's son,
14:49 delighted greatly in David.
14:51 So Jonathan told David, saying, "My father Saul seeks to
14:55 kill you. Therefore please be on your guard until morning,
14:58 and stay in a secret place and hide."
15:01 So Saul is jealous of David and his popularity with the people
15:06 that he wants him dead.
15:09 But Jonathan warns David to hide
15:11 until he can talk to his father.
15:13 So Jonathan points out to his father, "David has done
15:16 no wrong and does not deserve to die."
15:20 Saul listens to his son, Jonathan, and David is
15:23 able to come back and Saul promises not to kill him.
15:27 Okay, but something happens.
15:30 You know what, David went out to war again and he gained
15:33 a great victory over the Philistines; jealousy bruising
15:37 Saul's heart again and for the second time,
15:40 Saul tries to spear David to the wall - tries to pin him
15:44 to the wall with his spear.
15:46 Let's see where David runs to, Caleb, you read 1 Samuel 19:18.
15:52 "So David fled and escaped and went to Samuel at Ramah,
15:57 and told him all that Saul had done to him.
16:00 And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth. Thanks Caleb.
16:07 So David finds relief from persecution from Saul
16:10 with Samuel.
16:12 Here, David spent quiet communion with the prophet.
16:15 Okay, let's see what happens next.
16:17 J. J., can you read 1 Samuel 21:1-3? Yep.
16:23 "Now David came to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest.
16:28 And Ahimelech was afraid when he met David, and said to him,
16:34 "Why are you alone, and no one is with you?"
16:37 So David said to Ahimelech the priest, "The king has ordered
16:42 me on some business, and said to me, "Do not let anyone
16:49 know anything about the business on which I send you,
16:53 or what I have commanded you.
16:57 And I have directed my young men to such and such a place.
17:04 Now therefore, what have you on hand?
17:06 Give me five loaves of bread in my hand,
17:09 or whatever can be found." Thanks J. J.
17:13 So did the king send it? No, he didn't send him.
17:17 Do you know what? David's faith is faltering.
17:19 The high priest tells David, the only bread available
17:22 is the holy bread or the showbread inside the tabernacle
17:26 which the priest gives him.
17:28 Do you know what? If David had been honest
17:29 with the high priest, the priest would have known what to do,
17:32 and perhaps a different course would have been pursued.
17:35 Aunt Cecily, can you read 1 Samuel 21:7.
17:39 "Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was
17:42 there that day detained before the Lord and his name was
17:47 Doeg, an Edomite, the chief of the herdsmen
17:51 who belonged to Saul."
17:52 Okay, just tuck that little bit of information away
17:55 and we'll talk about that soon.
17:56 Anna, can you please read 1 Samuel 21:8-9.
18:01 "And David said to Ahimelech, "Is there not here on hand
18:08 a spear or a sword? For I have brought neither my sword
18:12 nor my weapons with me, because the king's
18:14 business required haste."
18:16 So the priest said, "The sword of Goliath the Philistine,
18:20 whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, there it is,
18:24 wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod.
18:26 If you will take that, take it.
18:29 For there is no other except that one here."
18:33 And David said, "There is none like it; give it to me."
18:38 So David takes Goliath's sword and flees!
18:42 Let's look at our torch light, Mrs. White's writings,
18:45 and Matthew, you're going to read that,
18:47 and see what that shines on what we've just been reading.
18:52 "As trial came upon him, his faith was shaken and
18:57 human weakness appeared.
18:59 He saw in every man a spy and a betrayer.
19:01 For as he had been hunted and persecuted, perplexity and
19:06 distress had nearly hidden his Heavenly Father from his sight.
19:11 Yet this experience was serving to teach David wisdom;
19:14 for it led him to realize his weakness and the necessity of
19:19 constant dependence upon God. Thanks Matthew.
19:22 Do you know, we can learn so much from David's mistakes
19:25 by learning to trust God no matter how much the
19:29 world is against us.
19:31 Meanwhile, Saul is complaining to his servants that everyone
19:34 is against him including his son, Jonathan.
19:37 Now remember that we read about a man named Doeg,
19:42 back in 1 Samuel 21:7- Caleb, let's continue to read
19:46 and see what happens. 1 Samuel 22:9-10.
19:49 "Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over
19:54 the servants of Saul, and said, "I saw the son of Jesse going
19:59 to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
20:06 And he inquired of the Lord for him, gave him provisions
20:10 and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine."
20:13 So Doeg, who because of his ambition and cruelty,
20:17 told Saul of the incident of the high priest helping David
20:20 with food and giving him Goliath's sword.
20:23 Saul was enraged.
20:25 J. J., let's read 1 Samuel 22:17-18.
20:29 "Then the king said to the guards who stood about him,
20:34 "Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand
20:38 also is with David, and because they knew when he fled
20:42 and did not tell it to me."
20:44 But the servants of the king would not lift their
20:47 hands to strike the priests of the Lord.
20:50 And the king said to Doeg, "You turn and kill the
20:55 priests!" So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck
21:00 the priests, and killed on that day,
21:04 85 men who wore a linen ephod."
21:09 Umm, a linen ephod, yes. Thank you J. J.
21:13 It's interesting that even Saul's own servants
21:16 wouldn't do this terrible act!
21:19 All of Israel was horrified that a king they insisted
21:22 on having, because they wanted to be like other nations,
21:26 would do such a thing.
21:27 Okay, Aunt Cecily, 1 Samuel 23:14 and 16-18,
21:33 can you read that please.
21:35 "And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness
21:39 and remained in the mountains in the Wilderness of Ziph.
21:42 Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him
21:47 into his hand.
21:49 Then Jonathan, Saul's son, arose and went to David
21:52 in the woods and strengthened his hand in God.
21:55 And he said to him, "Do not fear, for the hand of Saul
21:59 my father shall not find you.
22:01 You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you.
22:07 Even my father Saul knows that."
22:10 So the two of them made a covenant before the Lord.
22:13 And David stayed in the woods,
22:15 and Jonathan went to his own house."
22:18 Umm, so Jonathan came and encouraged David,
22:22 and they spent time together communing as good friends.
22:25 Anna, can you please read 1 Samuel 24:2-4.
22:31 "Then Saul took 3,000 chosen men from all Israel
22:35 and went to seek David and his
22:37 men on the rocks of the wild goats.
22:40 So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a
22:43 cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs.
22:46 David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.
22:50 Then the men of David said to him,
22:54 "This is the day of which the Lord said to you,
22:56 "Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand,
22:59 that you may do to him as it seems good to you."
23:03 And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe.
23:07 So David had an opportunity to kill Saul and is encouraged
23:12 by his men to do so.
23:14 But all David did was cut off a little corner of his robe.
23:18 Do you know even though David had been greatly
23:21 persecuted by Saul, he was anointed by God to be king.
23:25 David decided that he was not going to be the one
23:28 to take his life.
23:29 David comes out of the cave, after Saul leaves,
23:32 and speaks to him.
23:34 Bethany, can you read 1 Samuel 24:16-17 and 20.
23:38 "So it was, when David had finished speaking these words
23:41 to Saul, that Saul said, "Is this your voice, my son
23:44 David?" And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
23:47 Then he said to David, "You are more righteous than I;
23:50 for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have
23:53 rewarded you with evil.
23:55 And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king,
23:58 and that the kingdom of Israel shall be
24:03 established in your hand."
24:05 So Saul was humbled by this act and realizes and admits
24:09 that God has indeed anointed him as the next king.
24:12 Kate, can you please read 1 Samuel 25:1.
24:17 "Then Samuel died and the Israelites gathered
24:20 together and lamented for him and buried him
24:24 at his home in Ramah.
24:26 And David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran."
24:31 Thanks Kate.
24:32 So it wasn't until Samuel died did the Israelites realize
24:36 their folly in wanting a king to rule them instead of Samuel.
24:40 It was Samuel who had taught them to love and obey God.
24:43 Saul was now ruling with madness and strife and confusion.
24:47 Saul had become selfish and was only looking out for himself,
24:52 not the well-being of his nation and their relationship with God.
24:56 Samuel was a great loss to Israel.
24:59 Let's read our memory verse together in Micah 6:8.
25:06 Are you ready?
25:20 Do you think that sums up Samuel's life? Yes.
25:22 Yes, I think it does and we can claim this for our life as well
25:26 so we can be a blessing to others.
25:28 Thank you boys and girls for reading along with us.
25:30 We have a devotional available that goes into more depth
25:33 than what we studied today, here's how you can get that.
25:36 Hey boys and girls! Like Aunty Nat said,
25:39 you can download our devotionals free from our website at:
25:47 Hey Nick, don't forget about Teddy!

25:57 Boys and girls, we want to hear from you.
25:59 Send us an email on how you're enjoying the show,
26:02 so hop online today!
26:05 Thanks Nick and Sarah!
26:06 Yes, boys and girls, we want to hear from you.
26:10 Aunty Nat, can you tell us what we're going
26:11 to be studying next week?
26:13 Yes, next week you have to come back because everything
26:16 is about crowns and it's going to be really exciting!
26:20 Aunt Cecily, shall we go over our memory verse? Yes.
26:24 Let's read this together boys and girls... Micah 6:8:
26:40 Aunty Nat, another worship time is almost over.
26:44 I can't believe it's gone by so quickly.
26:47 Amber, what did you learn in our worship today?
26:50 That the animals will not hurt us in heaven.
26:53 Oh yes, heaven will be a very safe place and Jesus,
26:57 our Forever Friend, will be with us always.
27:01 Is it time for our blessing song Aunty Cecily?
27:03 It certainly is Kate!
27:05 You ready boys and girls?
27:07 Let's turn around and sing to our friends at home.
27:15 May God bless you and keep you,
27:21 and fill your heart with love.
27:26 May God guide and protect you,
27:31 and watch you from above.
27:36 As Sabbath after Sabbath
27:41 we greet the Day of Rest.
27:46 The Day the King of Glory
27:51 has sanctified and blessed.
27:56 Goodbye my friend, till we meet again
28:02 for another Day with the King.
28:07 Goodbye! See you next Sabbath!
28:20 I can't wait to get to heaven
28:22 because I can hang out with Jesus.
28:30 I can't wait to get to heaven
28:31 so I can see God's wonderful nature.
