00:01 Hello friend, I am John Carter.
00:04 Welcome to Great Truths Revealed.
00:07 While I was in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea,
00:12 the Carter Report team presented 20 peace filled programs
00:17 often under dangerous
00:19 and difficult circumstances they were
00:22 and have powerful spiritual encounters.
00:27 This first program almost didn't happen
00:30 because of events beyond our control
00:33 and you will sense the tension
00:36 and the drama in this first presentation.
00:41 Welcome my friend to "Great Truths Revealed",
00:46 a milestone in the history of Christianity.
01:01 Some of the largest crowds in the history of Christianity
01:05 attended the Carter Report in the Sir John Guise Stadium,
01:08 Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
01:11 Who were these people?
01:12 Well, they were earnest seekers for truth
01:15 with hearts strangely warmed by the love of God.
01:19 They came hungry for God.
01:21 And they listened to His Word with a holy awe,
01:24 mingled with a divine excitement.
01:27 When the invitation to accept Christ
01:29 as Lord and Savior was given, thousands surged forward.
01:33 The fervency and devotion of these seekers displayed
01:36 the miracle working power
01:38 of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
01:41 You are now invited to join this mighty congregation
01:44 as Pastor John Carter forthrightly
01:46 proclaims the message hot from the heart of God.
01:50 Welcome to the Carter Report
01:52 in the Sir John Guise National Stadium,
01:54 Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
02:03 Do you ever wonder where the world is going?
02:10 Do you ever wonder
02:13 we had the awful collapse on Wall Street?
02:18 It affected me personally
02:20 because I live over in that part of the world.
02:24 The world for a moment was on the brink of disaster,
02:29 then we had at the same time the collapse of the banks.
02:34 And America has got itself involved in a number of wars,
02:39 in Iraq, Afghanistan and people say.
02:44 "Will we have a war with Iran?"
02:47 I say, God forbid.
02:50 The people are wondering, what does the future hold?
02:54 Ever wonder that my friend?
02:57 Then we have global warming, a change in weather patterns.
03:02 What does it all mean?
03:05 During times of trouble
03:07 we're confronted by the big questions of life.
03:11 Here they are, who am I?
03:14 Do you know who you are? Who am I?
03:19 Where did I come from?
03:22 Am I a planetary accident
03:27 or am I a child of God?
03:30 Why I am here? Where am I going?
03:34 I am told today by cynics and atheists
03:38 that man is the product of time,
03:42 remember this, time plus matter plus chance.
03:48 And so we simply came on the planet by accident
03:52 and that means we're going exit by accident.
03:55 I am not buying it.
03:57 The purpose of these lectures
03:59 is to answer the big questions of life, listen to me.
04:07 We've had incredible difficulties
04:10 getting these programs going this week.
04:14 My team worked their hearts out
04:17 with their brothers and sisters from PNG to get it ready.
04:24 But we did it because we believe God wanted us to come here.
04:29 And tonight, when we turned on he giant projectors,
04:32 they came thousands of miles from Los Angeles,
04:38 they wouldn't work.
04:40 And just a little while ago we were asking the question,
04:44 what we gonna do because it doesn't appear
04:47 that the projectors are going to work.
04:49 We got four projectors right now, glory be to God,
04:54 we got two of those projectors working.
04:56 Now tomorrow night by the grace of God
04:59 we'll have the four of them working
05:00 and double the power on the screens.
05:04 But I want to tell you folks something,
05:07 you're going to come to these programs
05:10 and the crowds are going to grow.
05:13 They are going to get bigger and bigger
05:16 and you're going to find it hard to get a place to sit.
05:22 You're going to find it hard to get a place to stand
05:26 because we're going to deal
05:28 with the great facts of Bible prophecy
05:32 and the facts of science.
05:34 And tonight, I am going to take you
05:38 my beloved friends, I am going to take you
05:42 on the incredible journey of a lifetime.
05:47 I am going to take you.
05:49 We're going to put it up on the screen now.
05:50 I am going to take you to the land of Egypt.
05:54 Egypt, did you know
05:59 that the Bible was born in the land of Egypt?
06:05 Did you know that?
06:07 That's where the Bible came from.
06:08 That's where it was born.
06:11 The Bible, the first five books of the Bible
06:13 were written by a mighty Egyptian prince.
06:19 Egypt is the longest, lasting civilization
06:22 in the history of the world.
06:24 Australia was discovered in 1770.
06:28 United States, 1492.
06:32 1776, the Americans fought the war of independence
06:37 with Great Britain and they won.
06:43 These are modern countries.
06:45 But Egypt goes back at least to 3,000 B.C.
06:53 The red land of Egypt was born
06:57 on the banks of the River Nile.
07:02 I just got to come over here at the black boards
07:04 and I am going to put up a little map
07:07 of the land of Egypt,
07:09 so that you will know tonight where we are going.
07:13 This is the Medaterrian Sea.
07:15 Down here we have the delta
07:19 and the land of Egypt is about a 1,000 kilometers
07:23 from north to south.
07:26 There you have outside of Cairo, the great pyramids of Giza
07:33 and you come further down the river,
07:36 in fact you go up the river and you come to Karnak,
07:43 which is the greatest temple complex in the world.
07:49 Tonight, even though we've only got two projectors working,
07:53 we are not concerned at all because we're going to show you
07:57 some tremendous pictures
08:00 that you're not going to see anywhere else
08:03 and more than show you pictures,
08:06 we're going to give you evidence of the living God.
08:13 Rather to say it, Egypt is the gift of the Nile
08:19 and the Nile is the gift of the Gods.
08:23 Therefore they believed they were the children of God.
08:26 The pharaohs were worshiped as God kings.
08:31 The wealth of the ancient Egyptians, Vegas description.
08:37 Pharaoh Osorkon
08:40 gifted 383 tons of gold and silver to the temple
08:48 during four years, worth billions of dollars.
08:53 The Bible spoke about the wealth of Egypt.
08:58 When I saw many, many years ago--
09:01 I've been to Egypt many, many, many times,
09:03 but when I saw the buildings I was dazed and amazed.
09:11 My heart was strangely moved
09:14 when I went into the Valley of the Kings,
09:17 and I saw there the tomb of King Tutankhamun.
09:22 The Bible was born in this culture.
09:26 It was not born in an unsophisticated culture.
09:30 This book that I hold in my hands is the only book
09:36 that tells us where we came from and why we are here
09:42 and where we are going.
09:46 And if it is true then we have hope.
09:51 The Egyptians were great writers.
09:53 They wrote on almost everything.
09:57 Their writing made up of strange pictures
10:00 is called the hieroglyph or the hieroglyphics.
10:06 Nobody could understand
10:09 the meaning of the strange letters
10:13 for hundreds even thousands of years.
10:16 Then Napoleon Bonaparte marched down into the land of Egypt
10:21 ands he took with him a group of scholars
10:25 as well as a great army of solders.
10:28 And when his scholars were digging
10:30 outside the little village of Rosetta in the delta
10:37 they discovered what is called today
10:40 the Rosetta stone, there it is.
10:45 It is a trilingual inscription, Hyreoglyphic, Demotic,
10:51 two types of ancient Egyptian and also Greece.
10:56 Now, Greece was easily understood.
10:59 A young Englishman by the name of Young
11:04 worked on this amazing stone tablet for many years.
11:11 And he made some advancement
11:14 but he could not break this secret code.
11:17 That was left to a young Frenchman by the name
11:20 of Jean-Francois Champollion, there he is.
11:28 At least there's a picture of him.
11:31 And after working on this for a number of years
11:35 he announced to the scholarly world
11:39 that the ancient code had been broken.
11:44 And Egypt started to tell her secrets.
11:49 Now tonight with God's help,
11:53 I am going to tell you some of the secrets
11:56 of the ancient Egyptians that tell us where we came from,
12:00 why we are here and where we are going.
12:04 Let me talk now.
12:06 I got more material than I can deal with tonight.
12:09 The program tomorrow night is even more fascinating,
12:13 but let me tell you about the great discovery.
12:23 Over there in the Cairo museum when I was there last
12:27 was a great scholar by the name of Dr. Hawass.
12:32 Dr. Hawass allowed us to have
12:36 sole use of the Cairo museum for an evening.
12:42 I spent that evening with the queen.
12:47 What am I talking about?
12:52 Many years ago, more than 3, 000 years ago
12:57 there was a beautiful girl and she became the pharaoh.
13:03 It was not allowed that a woman should become the pharaoh
13:07 but she became the pharaoh.
13:12 But in Russia and another places I told the people,
13:18 our Queen Hatshepsut had been lost,
13:23 her mummy was lost, most likely destroyed.
13:29 Then Dr. Hawass discovered an old, old female mummy.
13:39 And he also discovered a little box.
13:44 And in the box there was a tooth.
13:48 A tooth in the box.
13:52 And on the box was written
13:54 in the coptos the name Hatshepsut
14:00 because now we are talking about Queen,
14:03 Pharaoh Hatshepsut who became the greatest ruler of her time.
14:10 Some would say the most powerful woman
14:14 in the history of the ancient world.
14:18 When he looked at this mummy he discovered,
14:23 as you can see on the screen
14:26 that there was a tooth missing in the upper jaw
14:34 and they wondered whose jaw is this.
14:38 And then they got the tooth out of the box from Queen Hatshepsut
14:45 and they pushed it up into the jaw
14:49 and it was a perfect fit.
14:55 We had discovered after so long
15:02 the body of the bearded queen.
15:07 Why she called the bearded queen?
15:09 Because the beard is the symbol of the pharaoh.
15:14 And so in her inscriptions she's shown as a female
15:19 but she's shown as a king.
15:25 She's shown as a male with the beard of the high priest.
15:33 Now you say, "So what?
15:37 Why you telling us this? What is so significant?"
15:42 you say to me, "You actually saw
15:45 the mummy of the Queen Hatshepsut?" Absolutely.
15:49 I gazed at her shrunken form.
15:55 Dr. Hawass, the greatest Egyptologist in the world
16:00 standing there with my friend Dr. Randall Younker
16:02 from Andrews University.
16:04 Have a look friend, gazed upon the body
16:10 of the great lady pharaoh
16:14 and wonder who was she?
16:21 Dr. Hawass said she was powerful,
16:28 she was mighty, her enemies trembled before her.
16:35 Who was she? Now listen to this story.
16:38 Are you folks listening to me?
16:41 What I ask you folks in Port Moresby,
16:43 are you listening to me tonight?
16:45 Yes. Let me hear it louder
16:47 Yes. Good.
16:50 Just want to make sure you folks aren't sleeping
16:51 out there in the dark.
16:53 Okay. This is a Christian country.
16:58 You know the story of the Bible, don't you?
17:01 There was a young man by the name of Joseph
17:05 who was sold as a slave to the Egyptians.
17:08 Eventually, he became the prime minister.
17:12 The Bible says, there was
17:13 a mighty famine in the land of Egypt.
17:18 When he was the prime minister
17:19 he stowed up the grain for the Egyptians.
17:25 And then the Bible says that when he died,
17:29 there arose a pharaoh who knew not Joseph.
17:34 Look there my friend on the screen,
17:38 there you have the remains of the great storage places
17:44 where the wheat was stored in the days of Joseph.
17:48 You say, you got to be kidding.
17:50 No, this is true.
17:51 The Bible says, "There arose a pharaoh who knew not Joseph."
17:58 And the Bible says "That they started to beat
18:02 and persecute the Israelites."
18:07 Now I got special permission from the Egyptian government
18:13 to go into the tomb of Rekhmire.
18:18 Got music in the name, the tomb of Rekhmire.
18:23 And I saw something there astounding,
18:25 I saw semi-slaves.
18:31 And I want you to see it.
18:33 We gonna put a picture on the screen
18:35 and you'll see that over here
18:37 how the Egyptians are actually beating them.
18:42 You say, "So what?"
18:44 Well, I'll tell you what, so what my friend,
18:47 the Bible was right.
18:50 The Bible told this story.
18:53 It told the story of the great famine.
18:56 It told the story of Joseph
18:58 and it told the story of how the children of Israel
19:02 became slaves and they were beaten by the Egyptians.
19:06 I want to tell you folks something tonight.
19:08 You just listen to me.
19:10 I want to tell you folks something tonight.
19:12 I am not here to ask you to believe by faith,
19:14 I am asking-- I want you to believe tonight
19:17 on the basis of scientific evidence.
19:24 I believe tonight and I believe
19:27 because of the overwhelming evidence that I've seen.
19:34 Now, after Joseph
19:39 and after the oppresses of his people,
19:42 there came a number of great pharaohs.
19:49 One great pharaoh who made a tremendous impact
19:53 in the land of Egypt was a man by the name of Seqenenre.
19:58 There he is, Seqenenre.
20:01 You can see how he died fighting his enemies.
20:06 And he was followed by this Pharaoh Ahmose.
20:13 I want you to notice something
20:14 ladies and gentlemen in this beautiful city
20:17 on this beautiful evening beneath God's beautiful sky.
20:22 I want you to know that during this time of Egyptian history
20:26 every pharaoh had Moses in his name.
20:31 His name actually is Ahmose or Ah-moses.
20:38 Ahmose, Ah-moses.
20:43 And then you go along and you find some other kings.
20:46 We're going to look at some of the pharaohs of this period.
20:50 And people say, "Are these the exact pharaohs?
20:53 Are these the actual kings?" Absolutely.
20:57 I've had the privilege of going into the royal mummy room
21:02 and gazing upon the faces of the kings that shook the world
21:09 and kings that were even mentioned in your Bible.
21:14 The Bible tells me there was a pharaoh--
21:17 I am giving you so much stuff you won't remember at all.
21:20 There was a pharaoh by the name of Thutmose, Thutmose I.
21:26 And he had a daughter
21:28 and the daughter of Thutmose was Hatshepsut.
21:34 That's the mummy that I showed you on the screen.
21:39 Now if we go according to the chronologies of the Bible.
21:43 And if you go to your Bible
21:45 and if you turn to 1 Kings 6:1 in the Bible
21:52 it tells us the dates when the children of Israel
21:58 came out of the land of Egypt.
22:03 Now listen carefully.
22:06 We're getting on pretty sound territory here.
22:10 The Bible tells the story of a beautiful princes
22:16 who went down to the River Nile.
22:20 And the pharaoh had given her decree
22:22 that every little male baby should be put to death.
22:26 But there was a mother who said,
22:28 "I am not going to put him to death."
22:32 And this princess went down to the River Nile
22:36 and she saw a basket floating on the water
22:40 and she said, "Bring me the basket."
22:44 And when they opened up the basket
22:48 there was a baby there.
22:52 A Hebrew baby and she called him Moses.
22:58 Moses.
23:02 We have evidence to suggest
23:06 according to the best discoveries
23:09 and what we know about phrenology
23:11 that the princess who went down to the River Nile
23:17 and discovered the man who wrote the first five books
23:21 of the Bible was Princess Hatshepsut.
23:29 And her body has been discovered.
23:34 Listen. Listen.
23:37 Later on the little princess who found the little boy
23:43 became the pharaoh herself.
23:48 But there was another man,
23:50 the illegitimate son of her husband
23:54 whose name was not Moses,
23:58 but his name was Thutmose III
24:05 and she kept him off the throne.
24:11 And in the courts of the pharaohs
24:15 there was a tremendous dispute
24:20 because Thutmose III, there he is in the screen.
24:26 Listen to me.
24:28 You know the story, don't you in your Bible
24:32 that the cynic tells you not to believe.
24:35 But what does the cynic got to offer you?
24:38 The cynic has got nothing
24:40 to offer you at all except oblivion.
24:44 But the Bible has got everlasting life to give you.
24:48 Want you to know this. Now listen carefully.
24:57 Dr. Hawass and I standing there looking at Thutmose III.
25:02 You know in your Bible it tells us
25:04 how Moses went to pharaoh.
25:07 God said to Moses, "You got to go to pharaoh
25:10 and you got to say, 'Let my people go.'"
25:13 I like that, don't you?
25:16 The Bible is a book of freedom.
25:19 The Bible is against oppression.
25:22 The Bible is against slavery.
25:24 The Bible is against racism.
25:28 You know what I am saying.
25:32 Moses went to pharaoh and he said, "Pharaoh,
25:38 our mighty God has sent me to tell you let my people go."
25:44 And pharaoh said, "I don't know the Lord
25:47 and I will not let your people go."
25:51 There he is. I want you to see him.
25:56 Thutmose III, the man who said to Moses,
26:02 "I will not let your people go."
26:05 He hasn't got much to say tonight, has he?
26:09 This is a pharaoh that is mentioned in the Bible.
26:16 I want to tell my friends
26:18 in Papua New Guinea something tonight.
26:21 The Bible indicates that Moses who gave us the Ten Commandments
26:26 and the first five books of the Bible.
26:29 He was the son of pharaoh's daughter.
26:31 I am quoting the Bible, the son of pharaoh's daughter.
26:35 He was the step son of Queen Hatshepsut
26:40 whose body has just been discovered.
26:45 Moses could have been the pharaoh
26:48 but if he'd chosen to be the pharaoh,
26:51 he would have had to worship the gods
26:54 and the demons of the ancient Egyptians.
27:00 Moses could have been the pharaoh
27:01 but he would have to give up his faith in God.
27:06 And Moses decided that he was going to follow God.
27:11 If Moses had become the pharaoh
27:13 and turned his back on God,
27:16 I would have been showing you tonight
27:18 Pharaoh Moses on the screen, as a mummy,
27:23 as a dead man in the Cairo Museum.
27:29 But I want you to know something.
27:32 The Bible tells me that Moses turned down
27:35 the gods and the demons and the polygamy
27:40 and everything else and the polytheism
27:43 of the ancient Egyptians
27:45 and the Bible tell me he chose Christ.
27:50 And the Bible tells me tonight that Moses
27:54 is not in the Cairo museum,
27:57 Moses is in the kingdom of the God in heaven.
28:02 Did you know that?
28:05 You say to me, "It doesn't make any difference."
28:08 Well, you just look at these mummies on the screen.
28:12 The greatest man in all the world
28:16 and tonight they're simply mummies in the Cairo museum.
28:20 I want to ask you a question tonight
28:22 my friends here in Port Moresby.
28:25 Do you want to be a mummy
28:27 or do you want to be a child of God in the kingdom of God?
28:32 Now the Bible tells me where I came from.
28:35 The Bible tells me I came from the hand of God.
28:39 The Bible tells me I am a child of God.
28:41 I don't care whether you are white
28:43 or you are black or you are brown.
28:46 Whether you come from the highlands or the coast.
28:49 I don't care whether you come from China
28:51 or whether you come from America
28:54 or whether you come from Russia.
28:56 I want to tell you, we are all children of God
29:01 made by the hand of God
29:03 and that makes you and me brothers and sisters.
29:12 So the great discovery
29:15 is the discovery of the body of the foster mother of Moses.
29:21 Her name is Queen Hatshepsut, the bearded queen.
29:28 Wow, what a story.
29:31 Everything she did was grand and glorious.
29:34 You ought to go and see her buildings as I did.
29:38 You go and see Deir El-Bahri on the western bank of Karnak.
29:44 You see her tremendous obelisk, 97 feet high, 323 tons.
29:52 Once covered in silver and gold.
29:58 It's amazing, it's astounding.
30:01 Now listen to me.
30:04 I got some amazing things to tell you.
30:06 But I've got to cut a lot of it out
30:08 because we don't have our-- all of your projectors
30:10 but we're still doing okay.
30:12 Glory be to God. Listen to me.
30:17 The Bible tells me that the children of Israel
30:21 lead by Moses left the land of Egypt.
30:24 You know the story, it's called the Exodus.
30:29 The Bible tells us that the Egyptians came at
30:32 after the children of Israel and try to destroy them.
30:38 But the Bible says the children of Israel
30:41 went through, they ran over the Red Sea.
30:45 And the waves came rolling down upon the Egyptians
30:49 and they were drowned.
30:53 And one of the most amazing experiences
30:56 I've ever had was to go into the tomb of Thutmose III,
31:02 the pharaoh who said to Moses, "I will not let the people go."
31:07 I am going to take you into that tomb.
31:10 This tomb is only recently been opened.
31:13 You're seeing pictures that very few people have seen.
31:17 This is the tomb of the man who died in 1450 B.C. saying,
31:25 "I do not know God and I won't obey Him."
31:29 I've shown you his picture, there is his coffin.
31:34 I am with my friend from Andrews University,
31:37 Dr. Randy Younker and we're looking at the tomb.
31:43 Now one of the amazing things
31:45 Dr. Younker pointed out to me was this,
31:48 that the tomb was put together very quickly.
31:53 It's not even finished.
31:55 And he said to me,
31:58 "they were in a big hurry to bury this man."
32:02 They didn't expect him to die.
32:06 And he didn't expect to die himself.
32:11 But the Bible tells me that this pharaoh, Thutmose III
32:18 who fought God died in the waters of the Red Sea
32:24 and he's buried, we believe in that tomb.
32:30 So what does it mean?
32:32 You know, I've got so much I can show you,
32:34 but what does this mean?
32:36 I will tell you what it means.
32:38 It means this, that the Bible is historically accurate.
32:44 The Bible is not a mass of fables.
32:48 It's not a bunch of fairy stories.
32:50 The Bible is true. Now listen.
32:54 If the Bible is true, you ought to be very glad.
32:59 And I'll tell you why you ought to be glad,
33:02 because the Bible tells you where you came from
33:06 and the Bible tells you why you are here
33:09 and the Bible tells you where you are going.
33:13 Isn't that amazing?
33:15 The Bible tells you,
33:16 tells me that you and I are not a bit of slime.
33:22 We're not just a mass of atoms and molecules.
33:26 The Bible tells us that we came from the hand of God
33:30 and every person is important.
33:33 There's nobody who is not important.
33:35 Every person is important
33:37 because every person is a child of God.
33:42 When you walk out of this meeting tonight
33:44 you can say-- maybe some of you will say,
33:47 "But you know I am not very wealthy."
33:49 That doesn't matter a great deal.
33:52 You are wealthy if you know that you came from the hand of God
33:56 and one day you're going to be with Christ
33:58 in paradise, you see.
34:02 So the Bible tells me where I came from.
34:06 It tells me why I am here
34:09 and it tells me where I am going.
34:13 And that is why I love biblical archeology.
34:19 Well, who were these ancient Egyptians?
34:22 For a few moments look at their accomplishments.
34:26 They were the builders of the pyramid, houses of deaths.
34:32 They were obsessed with deaths.
34:36 If you don't know God, you ought to be.
34:40 They were obsessed with death,
34:42 therefore they built the pyramids as tombs.
34:47 They dug into the sides of the mountains
34:50 and they buried their pharaohs
34:52 believing that this was the way to ensure their afterlife.
34:59 Now the great pyramid was build by Khufu
35:02 or he's call Cheops by the Greece.
35:06 Build, well, almost 5000 years ago
35:09 now, 2650 B.C. about a 150 meter high,
35:15 480 feet high, 775 feet on each side,
35:19 made up of two and half million giant blocks of lime stone
35:24 laid out perfectly north, south, east and west.
35:30 Why was it built?
35:33 It was built as the cosmic mountain,
35:37 the home of the Gods.
35:39 Now listen to me.
35:43 The Egyptians worshiped many gods
35:46 and they worshiped their ancestors.
35:50 They worshiped the spirits of the dead
35:54 and that religion is aptly oppose
35:57 to the religion of God and the religion of the Bible.
36:02 They believed in powerful spirit forces.
36:08 They believed that it was important
36:10 to preserve the body for afterlife
36:12 and that is why they practice mummification.
36:18 They built these great houses of death
36:21 because of their quest for immortality.
36:26 That's why they built the Karnak temple.
36:30 I've been to the Karnak temple more times than I can remember.
36:34 It is the largest religious complex ever built
36:38 in the history of the world.
36:39 It is more than a mile square.
36:47 I've been inside the temple of Amun Ra,
36:51 it cover 61 acres, just the temple.
36:55 About 30 or 26 something hectors.
36:59 Then I've gone to the Great Hypostyle Hall
37:02 that was built by Seti and Ramesses the great.
37:09 Only a small part of it is standing today.
37:12 It is composed of 58,000 square feet
37:16 of massive pile ons.
37:19 Some of the columns are 75 feet high
37:22 and 32 feet in circumference.
37:26 And it's an amazing thing,
37:29 I don't know we got the pictures here tonight
37:30 because we don't have all our projectors
37:33 but you can look up 70 feet
37:35 on the tops of those mighty columns--
37:38 there, look, bless your heart.
37:40 You can actually see some of the paint
37:43 on the top after 3000 plus years.
37:50 These were the people who gave us Moses.
37:57 Moses, the mighty Egyptian prince.
38:00 The prince of Egypt who gave us the Bible.
38:04 The Bible that tells us where we came from,
38:07 why we are here, where we are going.
38:10 The Bible that gave us this story
38:12 of the children of Israel and the great pharaoh
38:16 who said, "No, no, no, no."
38:20 And today, we can gaze upon these great buildings
38:24 in their sublime majesty
38:28 and our minds go back to the days
38:31 when Moses lived in Egypt.
38:35 The power and the glory.
38:39 And then there are the treasures of ancient Egypt.
38:42 Bless your heart, the gold.
38:44 Gold, gold, gold, heaps of this stuff.
38:52 I've gone inside the Cairo museum
38:54 with my television crew with my son David and others.
38:58 And we've looked at the wonders of the ancient Egyptians.
39:02 We've looked at the gold,
39:03 the treasures of the tomb of Tutankhamun.
39:08 We saw tons and tons and tons of gold.
39:15 It's an amazing wonderful story.
39:18 I think I should just show you
39:21 some of the wonders of the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun
39:26 who was a political nobody.
39:31 He was a nobody.
39:34 And enter his tomb went gold bullion--like this great shrine.
39:41 Big enough to hold a motor car covered with gold.
39:46 And there we have the golden death mask
39:50 of the pharaoh himself discovered by Howard Carter,
39:55 the intrepid English archeologist.
40:00 An amazing story.
40:03 When I saw the death mask of Pharaoh Tutankhamun
40:09 and when I gazed in admiration up on the throne,
40:15 my mind went to the Bible and the story of Moses.
40:21 He could have had it all, everybody bit of it.
40:25 He could have lived there in the courts of the pharaohs
40:30 and tonight he would have been in the Cairo museum
40:34 as a shriveled up mummy that looks like a bit of dead fish.
40:42 Now listen I want to tell you folks something.
40:45 You may be saying to me tonight and I said it to the KGB,
40:48 I've said it to the biggest audiences around the world.
40:54 You can see that I believe the Bible,
40:57 to right I believe the Bible.
41:00 I've been to so many places I've been to Egypt and Babylon.
41:05 I've been into the palaces, I've been to the shrines,
41:09 I've been into the tombs and as I've gone to these places,
41:14 I have done something that others have done before me.
41:17 I've taken a copy of the Bible.
41:23 And I've opened up my Bible
41:26 and I have read the stories of the Bible
41:29 and then I've looked at the hieroglyphics
41:33 and I've read it on the walls of the pharaohs as it were.
41:41 An amazing wonderful story.
41:45 I want you to get peace in your life.
41:47 I want you to have happiness in your life.
41:50 I want you to be prosperous and successful
41:54 and I want you to have what the Egyptians didn't have,
41:58 that is everlasting life.
42:00 And you can have it,
42:01 if you believe in the God
42:04 who believes in you, my brother, my sister.
42:09 Now this old book tells me the story
42:13 of how the children of Israel were led by Moses
42:18 from the city of Ramesses.
42:22 I'm gonna show you actually the city of Ramesses,
42:26 and my team up there are working
42:28 under great pressure tonight in, with tremendous difficulties
42:32 because the computers were not working and so forth,
42:36 but they're gonna get you to the city,
42:38 I believe of Ramesses which is in the delta.
42:44 Now this is the city of Tanis or portion of the city of Tanis
42:48 and we may have some pictures of Tanis,
42:51 I think that they're going to find.
42:54 But Tanis was not the city of Ramesses.
42:57 What happened was
42:58 that when Ramesses was overthrown Pi-Ramesses,
43:02 they cut it all the monuments up here to the north
43:05 and they built a new city, the city of Tanis.
43:09 But that was not the city of the Bible
43:13 and for many, many years
43:14 the archeologists didn't understand this.
43:17 But I visited the city of Tanis
43:20 and then I came down to the city of Ramesses.
43:25 And that was the city we're gonna find that soon,
43:29 I believe the city of Ramesses which is called Tell el-Dab'a.
43:35 When I went there I was quite amazed,
43:38 because I was disappointed
43:42 when I went there at Tell el-Dab'a,
43:45 which is south, there it is, this is Tell el-Dab'a.
43:48 These men are doing great under great difficulty tonight,
43:52 but there is the city all-- all that is best of Pi-Ramesses.
43:57 You're looking at what
43:59 once was perhaps the greatest city of the ancient world.
44:04 A huge, huge city.
44:07 And the Bible says,
44:09 that Moses led the children of Israel out of the Egypt
44:15 and this was once a magnificent place.
44:19 And they left there, and the Bible says,
44:22 they went through right over the Red Sea.
44:25 And I prepared a time,
44:27 they came up here in the north of Israel.
44:30 They came to a city by the name of Hazor.
44:36 Moses had gone home to glory.
44:39 Would you like to go home to glory too?
44:42 Well, Moses had gone home to glory.
44:46 And up here in Hazor,
44:49 the Bible tells me a young Hebrew
44:51 by the name of Joshua,
44:55 led the armies of Israelites against the city.
45:00 And the Bible says that they destroyed Hazor with fire.
45:08 And of course, the skeptics said of course that's not true.
45:13 Over here, yes that's Tell el-Dab'a
45:16 but I want us to get up now up in the north of Israel
45:21 and come up to Hazor, because, there it is.
45:26 Uh-huh, I thought we lost it.
45:29 Have a good look at that,
45:31 you say, well, it's not like the pharaohs,
45:32 it's not like the wealth, not like the gold,
45:35 not like the pyramids you've shown us tonight.
45:37 Not like Queen Hatshepsut, Thutmose III.
45:41 You see that.
45:43 That's the fire that is mentioned in the Bible.
45:47 The Bible says when they came up out of the land of Egypt,
45:51 they burnt the city of Hazor.
45:55 And there I am actually pointing to the ash
46:00 that was formed by the fire
46:03 that destroyed the city that is mentioned in the Bible.
46:08 Bless your heart.
46:10 As I walked around Egypt,
46:16 as I have filmed in the Cairo museum,
46:21 as I have gone into the tombs of the pharaohs,
46:28 as I have gazed upon the bodies of the pharaohs
46:34 who are actually mentioned in the Bible,
46:37 I heard myself saying, "The Bible is right."
46:42 It is right, the skeptics are wrong, the Bible is right.
46:48 As I have traveled around Egypt,
46:50 I have been overwhelmed by the evidence
46:54 that this is the word of God.
46:55 When I went up to Hazor, I opened my Bible
47:01 and I turned to the text were it actually says
47:06 that the children of Israel destroyed Hazor with fire.
47:12 We have discovered the city, it's there, it's there.
47:18 You can believe the Bible, it's there.
47:21 We have discovered the evidence of the fire.
47:29 Vasily, the general in charge of the KGB said to me"
47:35 we are overwhelmed.''
47:38 I said to the leader of the KGB, I am going to ask you tonight,
47:42 all of you and all of these officers there,
47:45 they asked me to speak to them on two different occasions.
47:50 I said to them on the basis of this evidence
47:53 I am going to ask you to stand up tonight
47:55 and say that you're going to leave your atheism behind,
48:00 that religion of death, that religion of hopelessness,
48:05 that religion of despair.
48:07 I am going to ask you to leave it all behind
48:09 and put your faith in the God who inspired the Bible.
48:13 Yup, General Vladimir stood up clicked his heels,
48:19 his colonel stood up, all of his officers stood up
48:25 and then I said to them,
48:26 I am going to ask you to come down in the front
48:29 and to give your lives to God.
48:31 They came down, all of them.
48:34 I want you to know you can believe in Christ.
48:40 Listen, my friend.
48:43 Here it is, I'm gonna open up my heart to you, here it comes.
48:46 I am a plain man, with a plain utterance,
48:49 with a message hot from the heart of God.
48:55 The Bible gave prophecies about the land of the Egyptians.
48:58 Don't have time tonight to go into them.
49:02 Alexander the Great became one of the great, great pharaohs.
49:07 Prophecy in the Bible about Alexander.
49:10 There's a prophecy about the great city of Memphis.
49:13 Every word of the prophecy came to pass.
49:16 I want to tell you something.
49:18 There are prophecies in the Bible about you and me
49:22 and our day, and our age.
49:24 And from night to night
49:26 we're going to see amazing discoveries
49:29 that give us reason to hope and to believe
49:33 and to know that God is alive
49:35 and He cares for people and He loves you.
49:38 And so my message to you tonight,
49:40 my beloved friend here in Papua New Guinea
49:44 in this great stadium with so many thousands of people,
49:48 you go further than I can see,
49:51 but I want to give you this message tonight,
49:53 here it is,
49:54 '' Believe in the God who believes in you."
50:01 Because He loves you and He cares for you.
50:07 The Bible is true.
50:10 No person is unimportant, you might say I am...
50:15 nobody cares about me, your God does.
50:17 You might say, I don't have a future.
50:19 Yes, you do.
50:21 God has a future for you.
50:22 You can say there's no plan for my life,
50:24 everything seems to be hopeless.
50:26 I want you to know, God has a plan for you.
50:34 He has a dream for you.
50:38 You say '' Does God see me tonight?" Absolutely.
50:42 He sees you. He knows your name.
50:47 Jesus said even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
50:52 He knows your name, He cares for you.
50:56 And the Bible tells me this, this is the most amazing truth.
51:02 The Bible tells me that the God, who gave us the Bible,
51:09 the God who gave us
51:10 the stories of Moses, Hatshepsut.
51:15 The Bible gives us all these wonderful stories
51:18 is more than a book of history.
51:22 It's the book of a father who yearns for His children
51:27 and Jesus, the Son of God said,
51:31 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.
51:38 So that whoever believes in Him,
51:41 shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
51:47 Believe in the God who believes in you,
51:52 because He knows you and He loves you.
52:01 We're going to do something now that I do around the world.
52:05 I do it in Russia.
52:10 I've done it just down the road from Kremlin,
52:13 the palace of culture
52:15 and the palace of sports in Russia.
52:19 I've had the privilege of speaking
52:20 in all the major cities there, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev.
52:25 In our program on the subject in Kiev,
52:28 100,000 people were turned away from the meeting.
52:33 And I do what,
52:35 I am going to do now everywhere in the world,
52:38 in the Sydney Opera House
52:41 and the Shrine auditorium in Los Angeles,
52:47 I am going to bring you to God and pray.
52:52 I believe in a personal God.
52:54 And I believe in prayer.
52:59 And I am going to ask you to do something
53:01 that I say to every person where ever I go,
53:04 when we pray and I said it to the KGB general
53:09 when we pray we don't stray sitting down,
53:13 we stand up and we stand up to show honor,
53:17 to the God who made us
53:19 and the God who gave us the Bible.
53:22 I am going to ask you now to great audience here,
53:24 I want you all to stand on your feet
53:27 and we're going to pray together,
53:29 I want to pray for you.
53:35 I want you all to stand please.
53:43 What if our sea of faces
53:45 with so many people tens of thousands,
53:48 we're going to bow our heads, we're going to close our eyes,
53:52 but we're going to open our hearts.
53:57 Our Father in heaven,
53:59 we thank You tonight for this amazing story
54:01 that comes to us from the land of God kings.
54:05 We've seen the mighty pharaohs that shook the world.
54:09 We've seen the woman who drew Moses out of the River Nile.
54:14 We've seen the wealth, the gold
54:19 and we're glad tonight
54:21 that we haven't seen Moses as a mummy,
54:24 because he made the right decision
54:25 and tonight he's home with Jesus in the kingdom of God.
54:29 Help us to know tonight that every person is distinct,
54:35 glorious and important,
54:37 because we're made in the image of God.
54:41 We pray tonight that You'll bless
54:42 the land of Papua New Guinea.
54:47 Bless the government officers, the prime minister.
54:51 Bless the new members of parliament.
54:55 Bless this nation that they will be returning to God
55:00 and that we will see the whole nation turn to God
55:04 and the nation blessed
55:07 in a way that we cannot dream possible tonight.
55:11 Bless these people here tonight as we stand in your presence.
55:15 Take away our fears, forgive us for our sins
55:20 and warm our hearts with Your great love.
55:25 We worship You and we thank You for all of these things,
55:30 in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior.
55:35 Amen. And Amen.
55:41 Who are these people attending the Carter Report

56:08 They are being told that Christ alone is the way,
56:11 the truth and the life.
56:13 They are hearing the words of life
