00:49 Hello, friend. 00:51 I'm John Carter in Australia in lockdown. 00:54 I can't get out of this place because the borders 00:57 have been sealed. 00:59 I want to give you such a warm welcome today. 01:02 And I want to welcome my friend Wayne Hackett, 01:05 who is the person who gave the introduction 01:07 just a moment ago. 01:09 So glad that you're with us today, Wayne. 01:12 Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ, 01:16 the master of prophecy, spoke about 01:19 the destruction of Jerusalem. 01:21 That happened in the year 70 AD. 01:25 He then went on to describe tremendous pandemics, 01:28 world wars, famines, 01:31 and then He spoke about the abomination 01:34 of desolation that would stand in the holy place. 01:38 What on earth does it mean? 01:40 I'll answer that question 01:42 and many more questions in this program today. 01:46 Welcome to the Carter Report. 01:50 "Have there not always been wars? 01:53 What did Jesus mean 01:54 when He spoke about birth pains?" 02:00 I want to read you a text. 02:01 I'm going to take it from what is called 02:04 the Little Apocalypse, because it talks 02:07 about the last days. 02:09 I'm going to take my Bible 02:10 and I'm going to turn over 02:12 here to Matthew 24:6-8. 02:17 Now I want you, folks, just to listen up. 02:20 Okay, Matthew 24:6-8. 02:23 Jesus said, "You will hear wars and rumors of wars. 02:28 See that you are not troubled, for all these things 02:30 must come to pass, but the end is not yet." 02:34 Then he said, "For nation will rise against nation, 02:38 and kingdom against kingdom. 02:40 And there will be famines, pestilences, 02:42 and earthquakes in various places. 02:46 All these are the..." 02:48 Now just wait for it, my friend. 02:50 He says, "The beginning of sorrows." 02:55 This word, sorrows, actually is talking about 02:59 a mother giving birth to a baby. 03:02 And as every mother knows, and I guess the dads do, too, 03:06 that the pains get more severe, 03:08 and they come with a greater frequency. 03:12 Hey, there's always been wars, always been earthquakes, 03:16 always been disasters. 03:19 But Jesus gave us a scenario, 03:21 He painted a picture of a greater intensity, 03:25 an increasing intensity. 03:28 And so what we are going to see now 03:31 we're going to see much, much more. 03:36 "How do we rate our current age 03:39 in comparison to other times?" 03:43 I should really back up just a little bit. 03:46 Back in the year 19th century, in the days of Charles Darwin, 03:51 people developed the doctrine of inevitable progress. 03:55 Just get that down in the molecules of your mind. 03:59 The doctrine of inevitable progress, 04:01 people will get better and better and better, 04:04 and utopia would come. 04:08 Scientists are playing with the same stuff today, 04:11 through the manipulation of genes. 04:14 Some scientists believe that we're going to produce 04:17 the superman, 04:19 and the world is just going to become a paradise. 04:23 But Jesus said, 04:25 "The pains are going to get much, much more. 04:29 There is going to be a growing intensity." 04:33 Yes, of course, there have always been wars. 04:38 But Jesus said, "We're gonna have more wars, 04:40 and we're gonna have more famines, 04:42 and we're gonna have more pestilences on and on and on." 04:46 During the last 100 years, we have perfected 04:49 the art of killing each other. 04:53 The First World War killed 40 million people. 04:58 The Second World War was more successful. 05:01 We were able to kill 80 million people. 05:04 And since then we've had lots of wars, 05:06 Vietnam War, North Korea. 05:10 We've got wars, we've had wars in Africa, in the Congo, 05:14 more than 5 million people were killed. 05:19 And it appears as though the nations are arming 05:22 for the last great conflict. 05:25 Now just listen to this. 05:28 China has got an army of 3 million. 05:33 Hey, 3 million. 05:35 Cuba, just tiny little country, been there lots of times. 05:38 It's got an army of 1.2 million. 05:42 Bless your heart. 05:43 One, I don't know where they all stand. 05:45 Iran has an army of a million. 05:48 North Korea, hey, 7.7 million, 05:53 Pakistan, a million, Russia, 3.5 million, 05:57 South Korea, 6.7 million, Taiwan 1.8 million, 06:03 they'll need every person, every man 06:05 and his dog because the Chinese have got their eyes on Taiwan. 06:10 And this could be the spark that ignites 06:13 the final conflict. 06:15 So they got an army, 1.8 million, Taiwan. 06:19 Turkey, 900,000, Vietnam, 5.5 million, 06:23 Israel, 650,000, Egypt, 1.3 million, 06:28 United States, 2.2 million, Brazil, 2.1 million, 06:32 India, 5 million. 06:36 We're just talking about the big players. 06:38 We're not talking about the liberal countries 06:41 like Australia, and New Zealand, 06:44 and even Canada. 06:47 But the nations are arming for conflict. 06:51 Jesus said them, 06:53 "The birth pains would become more intense, 06:57 and they would come with a greater frequency." 07:01 This is what we're seeing today. 07:02 We're seeing the greater, in greater frequency. 07:06 We're seeing more of the same. 07:09 There's a text in the Book of Joel, 07:11 I just wanna quote it to you. 07:12 Joel 3:9-10, "Proclaim this among the nations: 07:17 'Prepare for war! 07:19 Wake up the mighty men." Wow. 07:22 Wake up the mighty men. 07:24 Then the text goes on to say, 07:26 "Let all the men of war draw near, 07:29 let them come up, beat your plowshares into swords 07:33 and your pruning hooks into spears. 07:35 Let the weak say, 'I am strong,' multitudes, 07:38 multitudes in the valley of decision! 07:41 For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.'" 07:46 And so, the prophecies paint 07:49 a scenario of world wars more and more, 07:55 more intense. 07:59 "Why is there so much war, 08:01 suspicion and hatred among nations, 08:04 even between neighbors and families?" 08:10 This is a very uncomfortable word. 08:13 Psychologists and psychiatrists have sort 08:15 of put a taboo on using this word. 08:18 That's another reason I'm gonna use it today. 08:21 The word is sin. 08:24 We are a race of sinners. 08:26 This is a planet in rebellion. 08:31 The big problem, my friend, is sin in the human heart. 08:36 Let me read you out of the Book 08:38 of Romans 3:10 and 23. 08:43 "As it is written: 08:45 'There is no one righteous, no, not one." 08:48 No person is righteous. This is why neighbors fight. 08:52 This is why they fight over boundary lines. 08:55 That's why the Russians and the Chinese and you go on 08:57 and on are beating their plowshares into swords. 09:03 It says, "There is none righteous, no, not one, for all 09:05 have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." 09:09 That's the problem. 09:11 The problem is sin that resides in our hearts. 09:15 The first recorded instance 09:18 of a man who was born 09:20 of woman is a man who commits 09:23 a murder and murders his brother. 09:29 The human races been murdering their brothers 09:32 and their sisters ever since. 09:34 It is because of sin. 09:37 What is needed? 09:39 Not more politics. 09:41 I tell you, folks, politics have failed the human race. 09:45 Goodness me. 09:46 We don't put our trust in Congress anymore. 09:48 We don't put our trust in the Senate anymore. 09:51 We put our trust in God. 09:53 In God will we trust, because God 09:55 is the only hope for the human race. 09:58 He's the only hope for you. 09:59 He's the only hope for this sinner. 10:04 "Is the H bomb described in the Bible prophecies?" 10:10 Well, Wayne, that's a pretty good question. 10:13 There's a text in the Book of Revelation that makes 10:16 me think that maybe the H bomb 10:19 or something like it is described in our Bibles. 10:24 Now, don't give up on me, my friend. 10:27 Listen to the text. 10:29 Revelation 11 says, 10:33 verse 18, "The nations were angry, 10:36 and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, 10:40 that they should be judged." 10:41 We're talking here, my friend, about the end of times 10:44 when the dead are going to be judged. 10:47 "And that You should reward Your servants, 10:49 the prophets and the saint, and those who fear Your name, 10:52 small and great, and should destroy those who," 10:57 the Bible says, "destroy the earth." 11:03 Why bless your heart. 11:05 This book was written in the days of bows and arrows. 11:10 You couldn't destroy the earth. 11:14 The Bible prophets predicted the day would come when people, 11:18 the human race would get the enormous 11:21 capacity to destroy the earth. 11:25 Now we can do it today, not once over, 11:28 not 10 times, not even 100 times over, 11:31 the Chinese can wipe out the earth, 11:32 the Americans can wipe out the earth, 11:35 the Russians can wipe out the earth. 11:38 The Indians have got the H bomb. 11:41 The Pakistanis have got the H bomb. 11:43 The Israelis have got the H bomb. 11:45 And so it goes on. 11:48 So the Bible talks about the coming of a day 11:51 when men will have the capacity to destroy the earth. 11:55 If this is not an evidence for the authenticity 11:59 of Bible prophecy, I don't know what is. 12:02 This to me is evidence that the hand of God 12:06 is in the writing of the Bible. 12:09 Now, I'm going to read you another text. 12:12 This is just a little bit controversial, but I want you 12:14 to listen to this. 12:16 This is found in Joel 12:19 2:30-31, 12:22 just listen to it please. 12:25 "And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: 12:28 Blood and fire 12:31 and pillars of smoke. 12:35 The sun shall be turned into darkness, 12:37 and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great 12:40 and awesome day of the Lord." 12:43 Prophet Joel looked up in the heavens. 12:46 In the last days, he saw blood and fire and pillars, 12:51 pillars of smoke. 12:56 I don't want to be dogmatic on this. 12:58 But it's talking about the last days 13:00 and you have these tremendous images in the sky. 13:04 Jesus said, "There would be fearful sights 13:07 and great signs in the heavens." 13:10 It's coming, my friend. 13:12 The Word of God is coming to pass. 13:14 What shall we then expect? 13:17 Remember the birth pains, more and more and more until 13:22 the new creation is born. 13:27 "There have always been pandemics. 13:29 What's so different about COVID-19? 13:34 Well, the Black Death in the Middle Ages 13:37 that was around, if this brain 13:40 is still working this morning. 13:43 At 1346, around that time, 13:48 it killed about 100 million people, Bubonic plague. 13:52 Some say, 200 million 13:55 people were killed in this dreadful plague. 13:59 They've always been plagues. 14:02 COVID-19, I'm told by government officials 14:05 has killed around the world, about 4 million people. 14:09 So it is a pandemic. 14:12 I know it's got people here in Australia absolutely 14:15 terrified because of the outbreak in Sydney. 14:18 Sydney as I talk is going into lockdown. 14:21 And most of the people have not been vaccinated. 14:24 So it's in Australia here, 14:26 it's getting a little bit scary. 14:29 But the Economist magazine, 14:31 which is not just a bunch of fake news, 14:34 it's a good magazine, edited in Great Britain, 14:39 published in America. 14:41 It says the death rate is probably five times 14:44 higher than the official figure. 14:47 If that were so, 14:48 you would have 20 million people dead with COVID-19 14:52 around the world and the end is still to come. 14:58 It is a sign. 15:00 It is a part of the birth pains that usher 15:04 in the new creation. 15:10 "Are false prophets now making prophecies?" 15:15 Yes, they sure are. 15:18 The Bible prophets paint this great prophetic scenario 15:22 on the canvas of time. 15:25 Sitting right there in the middle of this canvas 15:30 are false preachers, phony pastors, 15:34 and all the rest of the charlatans. 15:36 Now, I wanna read you a text. 15:38 Matthew 24:11, now we started with Matthew 24. 15:43 Basically, today we're staying most of the time in Matthew 24. 15:48 Matthew 24:11 and 24, says, 15:53 "Then many false prophets will rise up 15:56 and deceive many. 16:00 For false Christs and false prophets will rise 16:05 and show great signs and wonders to deceive, 16:08 if possible, even the elect." 16:11 The elected people of God. 16:14 The Bible says that in the last days, 16:17 there is gonna be a bunch of false preachers 16:21 and false religious teachers. 16:24 There are going to be false prophets, 16:26 and they're going to be preaching with great power. 16:31 It seems to me that we've come to that time. 16:35 When I was in the States, just a little while ago, 16:38 I was watching a television program. 16:42 There I saw some preachers, 16:44 great church, I was sort of astounded. 16:47 I shouldn't have been, 16:48 I should have been expecting these things. 16:50 What was wrong with me? 16:53 Well, there are all these preachers, 16:55 lady preachers, men preachers, all sorts of preachers. 17:00 And they were making all of these prophecies saying 17:03 the Lord has shown me. 17:05 We declare this to you in the name of the Lord, 17:08 they said. 17:12 Well, few weeks went by and it was discovered 17:15 that all their prophecies were simply phony. 17:19 Their prophecies were as phony as those preachers were phony. 17:24 Then as I was watching these phony preachers, 17:27 these phony prophets, they started to laugh. 17:33 The most hideous laughter came out of their mouths. 17:37 I heard the demons laughing. 17:41 Then the congregation in this great church 17:44 in the United States, 17:45 they started to laugh, laugh, laugh. 17:51 The amazing thing is that 17:53 when their prophecies came false, 17:55 nobody said they were false prophets, 17:57 they still went along, believing them. 18:00 None of those false prophets got up and said, hey, 18:03 we deceived you, our prophecies were wrong. 18:06 We got it wrong. 18:08 No, they said. 18:10 Jesus told us what to say. 18:12 We're preaching what Jesus told us to say. 18:16 Then they had a few more little bits of laughter. 18:20 And millions of people still believing these people. 18:26 Now this is a wake-up call to America and every person 18:29 who calls himself a Christian, don't believe the phonies. 18:35 You're listening to me, believe in Jesus, 18:38 and read your Bibles, become intelligently informed. 18:45 "Then what should we expect?" 18:50 What should we expect, Wayne? 18:53 We should expect more of the same. 18:58 More and more, more intense. 19:01 Jesus said, these are the birth pains, 19:05 wars, famines, pestilences, phony preachers, 19:10 false prophets, persecution, 19:13 more and more of the same. 19:16 But remember, the good news is this, 19:19 Christ is going to come. 19:23 "Do you see persecution happening in America?" 19:29 You know what Dr. Billy Graham said, don't you? 19:32 Dr. Billy Graham said a few years ago. 19:34 He said, "Christians can be, 19:37 can expect to be persecuted by their own government here 19:42 in the United States of America." 19:46 That's what he said. 19:48 Dr. Billy Graham said, 19:49 "Christians can expect to be persecuted 19:53 by their own government here 19:55 in the United States of America." 19:57 America was founded by people 19:59 who believed in religious liberty. 20:04 Freedom, that freedom ring. 20:08 But not everybody has the same spirit, 20:12 as was in the hearts of the people 20:15 who gave us the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. 20:21 There's a spirit of intolerance in the land. 20:24 There are some people 20:26 who believe in religious liberty, 20:27 and freedom of speech, 20:29 and they say it over and over and over again, 20:31 they believe in it for themselves, 20:35 but not for you, not for me. 20:39 Remember the baker in Colorado, 20:44 inoffensive, decent, Christian man. 20:48 People from the far left 20:52 with a certain sexual agenda came to him and said, 20:57 "You got to bake a cake. 21:00 And on top of that cake, 21:02 I want you to have something that acclaims 21:05 and applauds same sex marriage." 21:09 He said, "I can't do it. 21:11 It goes against my religion." 21:13 They said, "You're going to do it." 21:15 He said, "Don't you believe in freedom?" 21:17 "Yeah, we believe in freedom, all right." 21:20 But freedom only for themselves. 21:24 And later on, it took a long, long time 21:26 and a lot of money and a lot of persecution 21:28 because this man, a Christian, 21:30 was being persecuted by his own government 21:33 in the United States of America. 21:36 But the Supreme Court weighed in. 21:40 And so the government in Colorado backed off a bit, 21:44 but they come on again, and they continue to come on. 21:48 Because there is a tremendous spirit of intolerance today 21:51 from people who believe in freedom, 21:54 but only for themselves. 21:56 Jesus said, "You will be persecuted." 22:00 And Billy Graham said, 22:01 "Christians in America can expect to be persecuted 22:04 by their own government." 22:06 We've already seen it. 22:09 "So why does this persecution take place?" 22:16 Why does persecution take place? 22:19 Because of the intolerance of the sinful human heart. 22:24 I want to tell you, folks, something. 22:26 There's only one solution to the problem facing America 22:29 and around the world. 22:32 And that is not more legislation. 22:34 No, no, no. 22:36 I don't think we need more legislation. 22:38 What is needed is a spiritual rebirth. 22:43 Jesus said, "You got to be born again." 22:45 Now let me read you another text here. 22:48 Matthew 24:9, New King James Version, 22:53 Jesus said, "Then they will deliver you up 22:56 to tribulation and kill you." 23:01 The hatred is going to become so intense 23:04 against the law of God and the people of God, 23:07 that in the end they're going to kill you. 23:11 We're seeing a tremendous cultural change today 23:14 in America and around the world. 23:18 "And you will be hated by all nations 23:20 for My name's sake." 23:24 Christians today are the most persecuted group 23:29 on the face of the earth. 23:32 You say, "No, that's not true." 23:33 Yes, it is so. 23:36 Think of Saudi Arabia. 23:39 If you're found to be a Christian in Saudi Arabia, 23:42 you'll be put to death. 23:44 Bibles are not allowed in Saudi Arabia. 23:48 You go right throughout the Middle East. 23:51 Muslim countries do not believe in freedom of religion, 23:56 except for themselves. 23:59 You can't go to those countries and preach the gospel. 24:03 If you do, you'll go to prison, or else you'll be put to death. 24:08 In Africa, 24:10 90% of the African countries 24:14 are dictatorships. 24:17 You say, "I never knew that." 24:18 Well, know it now. 24:20 Ninety percent of the African countries 24:23 are dictatorships and many of them 24:26 persecute their own people. 24:28 Egypt persecutes Christians, all of the Muslim countries. 24:34 China. 24:35 China is the great persecutor of Christ. 24:39 In China today, there are more than 100 million Christians, 24:43 did you hear this? 24:45 You can't kill Christ and you can't kill His church. 24:49 A hundred million Christians, 24:52 but most Christians meet in secret, 24:56 and those who tried to build churches often 24:58 have their churches with their crosses, 25:01 bulldoze down by the communist officials. 25:05 Atheism and communism 25:09 are totalitarian powers 25:11 and they are against Christ and God. 25:15 Atheism is intolerant. 25:16 Think of Russia during the 70 years 25:20 when the communists and the atheist ruled Russia. 25:26 Seventy million innocent people were murdered, 25:30 and many of them 25:31 because of their Christian faith. 25:35 But I've got news for you good folks listening to me today. 25:39 You can't kill Christ, and you can't kill the church, 25:43 and the truth is marching on 25:45 and the truth is going to thrive, 25:48 so help us God. 25:49 Amen.
