00:03 John Carter believes in the power of truth, 00:05 not fiction, not fairy tales, 00:08 but pure truth. 00:10 In his quest for this truth, 00:12 he has explored the mystical Middle East, 00:14 where the great religions of the world were born. 00:17 He has walked in the footsteps of ancient prophets 00:20 through forgotten empires. 00:23 He has visited Babylon, Jerusalem, and Egypt 00:26 where ancient prophets recorded messages, 00:29 especially relevant for today. 00:31 Here are his answers to life's biggest questions. 00:35 Welcome to The Astounding World of The Prophets. 00:41 I'm so glad to have you in our house today. 00:45 This week, we're celebrating 00:47 the whole week Beverley's birthday. 00:49 And so I want to welcome you to our home. 00:53 We want you to feel that you're at home at our place. 00:58 I want to give a special welcome too, 00:59 to my old friend, Wayne Hackett. 01:02 He's the voice you're going to hear in these programs. 01:05 You've heard his voice over and over again. 01:08 One of the most recognizable voices 01:11 in the whole of the United States of America. 01:14 So, Wayne, my old friend of many years, 01:17 welcome to our house today. 01:20 Pastor Carter, it's good to be with you. 01:23 We have some questions for you. 01:25 The prophecies in the Bible. 01:27 Are they genuine 01:29 and can they be scientifically proven? 01:34 Are they genuine prophecies? 01:36 Absolutely. 01:38 Absolutely. 01:40 Is this craziness? 01:41 No, no, no, no, no. 01:43 One great philosopher said these words, 01:46 "If genuine prophecy exists, 01:48 then the main issues of our age are met." 01:51 What are the main issues? 01:53 Summed up in three questions. 01:55 Number one, 01:56 where did I come from? 01:58 Number two, 02:00 why am I here? 02:02 Number three, 02:04 where am I going? 02:06 Now, if you can't answer those questions 02:08 with real satisfaction to your soul, 02:10 you're not going to be a very, very happy person. 02:14 How do I know? 02:15 I've spoken to millions and millions of atheists 02:17 in the old Soviet Union, in Russia and Ukraine. 02:21 There was a great professor 02:22 who came to my lectures, our lectures 02:25 in the great city of Kiev 02:27 in the Palace of Sport downtown. 02:30 This man was so great an atheist 02:34 that they put him in charge 02:35 of the indoctrination of the soldiers 02:39 who worked for the communists. 02:41 He taught them atheism, taught them Marxism, 02:47 but deep down in his soul, 02:48 like so many people in the world today, 02:51 he was an unhappy person 02:53 because I'm telling you, friend, 02:55 you can't be happy 02:57 unless you can answer those three big questions. 03:00 Where did I come from? 03:01 Why am I here? 03:03 And where am I going? 03:05 In fact, there's another big question. 03:06 Who am I? 03:08 Or what am I? 03:11 Am I simply just an accident? 03:13 Am I a machine? 03:16 Am I an animal? Who am I? 03:20 Now one great philosopher, listen to this. 03:22 He said it, 03:24 "If genuine prophecy exists, 03:27 then the main issues of our age are met." 03:29 Never forget this. 03:31 If genuine prophecy exists, 03:32 then the main issues of our age are met. 03:35 Now, today, I'm going to show you 03:37 a genuine prophecy. 03:39 I want you to notice it. 03:41 I want you to verify if you can. 03:45 I want you to think like that old Professor Todd, 03:47 he came to those great meetings in the city of Kiev. 03:51 He heard this prophecy, 03:52 he heard many other prophecies. 03:54 We had tremendous crowds of people coming. 03:57 Hundreds of thousands of people were coming. 04:00 And when he heard the evidence, 04:02 he discovered the truth about absolute reality. 04:06 I'm going to take you right now to the Book of Daniel. 04:08 Daniel Chapter 2 written 2,500 years ago, 04:12 written in the great city of Babylon 04:15 when Nebuchadnezzar 04:18 was the leading force in the world, 04:20 was the king really of the world. 04:23 Daniel 2:31 and onwards. 04:27 Daniel is talking to the king. 04:29 He says, 04:30 "You look to a king 04:31 and there before you stood a large statue, 04:34 big metal man 04:36 and awesome dazzling statue, 04:38 awesome in appearance. 04:41 The head of the statue was made of pure gold, 04:44 its chest and arms of silver, 04:47 its belly and thighs of bronze, 04:50 its legs of iron, 04:52 its feet partly of iron 04:54 and partly of baked clay." 04:58 An amazing, amazing spectacle. 05:01 A great metal man. 05:04 How do we know 05:06 that you're not just making this up 05:08 to fit a set of beliefs? 05:11 What does it mean? 05:13 How do we know that 05:14 we're just not making this stuff up? 05:16 Well, I want to read on a little bit in this prophecy, 05:20 because this is a prophecy 05:23 that was given 2,500 years ago. 05:27 Okay. Let me read this to you. 05:31 It says in verse 34 and 35, 05:37 when I read this to you. 05:38 "While You were watching, 05:40 a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. 05:44 It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay 05:47 and smashed them. 05:49 Then the iron, the clay, 05:51 the bronze, the silver and the gold 05:53 were broken to pieces at the same time 05:56 and became like chaff 05:57 on a threshing floor in the summer. 06:00 The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. 06:03 But the rock that struck the statue 06:06 became a huge mountain 06:09 and filled the whole earth." 06:13 What does it mean? 06:16 It goes back 2,500 years. 06:19 It's given in Babylon, 06:21 this marvelous ancient city 06:23 that was ruled over by a king, by the name of Nebuchadnezzar. 06:27 Big metal man, 06:28 head of gold, chest of silver, 06:31 belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron, feet 06:34 part of iron and part of clay. 06:36 And then there comes this tremendous stone 06:41 that shatters this great image 06:42 and breaks it into a billion pieces. 06:45 I'm here to tell you today, I want you to listen up. 06:47 I want you to listen very, very carefully. 06:50 My friend, wherever you are in this wide world, 06:55 this is a prophecy 06:57 they've predicted 06:58 2,500 years of history. 07:04 If this is true, if this is true, 07:09 then I would suggest to you, 07:11 then we can answer the question, 07:12 where did I come from? 07:14 Why am I here? And where am I going? 07:18 Where are the facts 07:19 to support your claim of real prophecies? 07:24 Truth is tremendously important. 07:27 Jesus Christ, 07:29 the founder of Christianity said, 07:30 "You will know the truth 07:33 and the truth will make you free." 07:36 So here today, we're not here just to talk speculation. 07:40 We're not here to tell you fairy tales. 07:43 We're talking here about facts 07:45 that have convinced 07:46 thousands and thousands and thousands 07:50 of atheists and communists. 07:53 I want you to entertain these facts 07:56 and I want you, my friend, 07:59 to draw your own conclusions. 08:02 Now, I'm going to read on in the prophecy. 08:04 I want you please to listen to this. 08:07 Here it is. 08:09 Here it is. 08:10 Verse 36 of Daniel Chapter 2. 08:14 "This was the dream, 08:16 and now we will interpret it to the king." 08:20 So here comes the interpretation. 08:22 It goes back 2,500 years. 08:25 "You, O king, are the king of kings. 08:28 The God of heaven has given you dominion 08:30 and power and might and glory, 08:33 in your hands he has placed mankind 08:35 and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. 08:38 Wherever they live, 08:39 he has made you ruler over them all. 08:43 You are the head of gold." 08:47 So here we have an explanation given 2,500 years ago, 08:51 had a studs with a head of this great colossus 08:54 and it says that 08:56 Nebuchadnezzar representing the kingdom of Babylon 08:59 that ruled the world from a 605, 606 to 538 BC 09:05 was represented by the head of gold. 09:07 Are you listening to me? 09:10 You told us about Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom. 09:12 What can you tell us 09:14 about the other kingdoms that followed 09:16 and do these fulfill prophecy? 09:20 Now, we know that the head of the great man, 09:23 this great colossus 09:25 represents the kingdom of Babylon 09:27 that ruled the world from 606, 605 BC 09:31 right through to 538. 09:34 So we're starting here 09:35 with a definite period in historical time. 09:39 We're not talking here of fairy tales, 09:41 but there's more. 09:43 And I'm going to read it to you, 09:44 Daniel 2:39-40. 09:49 Please listen. 09:50 "After you," after the kingdom of Babylon, 09:53 "another kingdom will rise inferior to you. 09:57 Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze 10:00 will rule over the whole earth. 10:03 Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, 10:05 strong as iron, 10:06 for iron breaks and smashes everything, 10:09 and as iron breaks things to pieces, 10:12 so it will crush and break all the others." 10:15 So the old prophet Daniel, 10:18 actually, he was only just a young guy. 10:21 He says to the young king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, 10:24 well, you are the head of gold, 10:26 but after you, there's going to come another kingdom, 10:28 it's going to be like the chest of silver. 10:31 And then you're going to have the thighs 10:32 and the belly made a bronze. 10:35 That's going to be another kingdom. 10:37 And then there's going to be a fourth empire 10:39 that's going to be as strong as iron. 10:43 Every word came to pass. 10:48 And the professor of atheism 10:50 for the communist youth in Kiev said, 10:53 I've studied this in our secular universities. 10:57 And what this guy is saying is absolutely the truth 11:01 because after Babylon came Medo-Persia, 11:05 symbolized by the chest and the arms of silver, 11:09 and after Medo-Persia 11:10 came the bronze kingdom of Greece 11:13 under Alexander the Great, 11:16 but the Bible prophet said 11:18 that 2,500 years ago 11:20 that the fourth great world empire 11:22 starting at Babylon 11:25 would be an iron kingdom. 11:26 And history tells me it came to pass. 11:29 We call it the iron monarchy of Rome. 11:33 How did the prophet know Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, 11:38 and then the iron monarchy of Rome? 11:41 It's called the iron monarchy of Rome. 11:47 It was written before it happened. 11:51 Can you tell us more 11:52 about the kingdoms and what they mean? 11:57 There's more to come. 11:59 I want to take you again to the words of the prophecy 12:01 written 2,500 years ago. 12:04 Now we come to verse 41. 12:06 It says, 12:08 "Just as you saw that the feet and toes 12:10 were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, 12:13 so this will be 12:15 a divided kingdom." 12:20 So the prophet said 12:22 that after the Roman Empire, the empire of iron, 12:25 everything would become divided, 12:27 and it all be broken up. 12:30 And that's exactly what happened 12:32 between 300 and 500 AD, 12:36 the Great Roman Empire 12:38 because of corruption and internal rot 12:41 and every other thing that you can think of, 12:44 just broke up. 12:46 It wasn't followed by another world empire, 12:49 but it broke up into the kingdoms 12:51 and the states of Europe. 12:53 Now, we're not making this up, folks. 12:55 This is history. 12:58 It actually came to pass. 13:00 Now I'm going to read you something else. 13:02 If you don't mind, I want to read this to you. 13:04 I'm going to read you some other verses here. 13:08 This is 44 and 45. 13:11 "In the time of those kings, 13:13 the God of heaven will set up a kingdom 13:15 that will never be destroyed, 13:17 nor will it be left to other people. 13:19 It will crush all those kingdoms 13:21 and bring them to an end, 13:23 but it will itself endure forever. 13:28 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock 13:30 cut out of the mountain, 13:31 but not by human hands, 13:33 a rock the broke the iron, 13:35 the bronze, the clay, the silver 13:37 and the gold to pieces. 13:40 The great God has shown the king 13:41 what will take place in the future. 13:44 The dream is true, 13:45 it's interpretation is certain." 13:49 Hey, what are we going to do with this? 13:54 I mean, are we just going to say, 13:55 this is it, 13:56 it's just an ordinary dream. 14:00 I want you to think about it 14:02 given more than 2,500 years ago. 14:05 It's a great metal man, head of gold, chest of silver, 14:08 belly and thighs of bronze, legs of iron. 14:11 Of course, that represents the Roman Empire, 14:15 the great empire of the Caesars. 14:16 Nobody can doubt that, 14:18 given recorded the iron monarchy of Rome. 14:21 And then the prophet said 2,500 years ago, 14:23 that the kingdom would be divided, 14:25 it'd be broken up. 14:26 But that's exactly what happened 14:28 between 300 and 500 AD, 14:30 the kingdom, the great monarchy we can call it, 14:34 the empire of the Romans was broken up into the kingdom 14:38 and the states of Europe. 14:40 But then you've got this big stone that comes, 14:43 this tremendous stone of destiny 14:45 and it smashes into the image, 14:47 and everything is broken up 14:48 and the stone becomes a mountain 14:50 and fills the whole earth, 14:51 which of course is the end of history 14:55 and the setting up 14:56 of a great supernatural worldwide power. 15:02 Hey, that's still got to happen, 15:04 but the rest, my friend, 15:06 is already being fulfilled. 15:08 That's the fact. 15:11 Are you saying that we had the history of the world 15:14 of Western civilization 15:16 told to us 2,500 years ago? 15:21 Yes, I am. 15:24 I am making that extraordinary claim. 15:27 But I'm not making it as a theologian 15:29 or as a preacher or as a religious person. 15:33 I'm making it on the basis of the facts of history. 15:40 I'm interested in truth. 15:42 I'm not interested in fairy tales. 15:44 What about you? 15:46 I'm not interested in speculation. 15:48 That's why I found it so marvelous 15:50 to talk to tens of thousands of communists, 15:53 no, millions of atheists, unbelievers 15:57 in Russia and Ukraine. 16:00 Because they'd been taught that 16:02 the only thing that counted was that which was factual. 16:07 Then they discovered that communism was infactual. 16:09 It was just a big hoax. 16:12 But then I showed them the prophecies of the Bible. 16:16 And so the old professor 16:17 who had been teaching 16:18 all of these Ukrainian soldiers, 16:20 that atheism was the answer. 16:22 He came to me and he said, "It's not the answer." 16:24 He said, 16:25 "After I've listened to these prophecies, 16:27 I'm absolutely certain that the Bible must be true." 16:32 And he said, 16:33 "Hey, you told us about the three big questions." 16:37 He said, 16:38 "I can now answer those three big questions 16:40 with real satisfaction. 16:42 I know where I came from." 16:43 The Bible says, 16:44 you see this book claims to tell about origins, 16:48 it claims to tell where we came from. 16:50 In the beginning, 16:51 God created the heavens and the earth. 16:53 It teaches that we are simply not cousins to monkeys. 16:57 But we are made in the image of God. 17:02 This is tremendous news. 17:03 I am a child of God, 17:05 I didn't come down from the trees, 17:06 I came down from the hand of God. 17:09 And the professor said to me, 17:10 "At last, I've got peace, I know where I came from. 17:13 I know why I am here. 17:15 There is a purpose to my living. 17:18 The atheist could not give me a purpose to my living. 17:21 And I know where I'm going, 17:24 the great stone is going to come, 17:25 it's going to smite the image, 17:27 and the stone represents the kingdom of God, 17:31 the best is yet to be. 17:35 Listen to you. 17:36 Listen to me, my friend. 17:38 Listen to me. 17:39 If this is true, then life is great. 17:44 Life is great now, and the best is yet to be. 17:50 You told us about some other ancient prophecies 17:52 that have come true. 17:54 We've all heard the prophecy of the Antichrist. 17:56 Can you tell us who it is? 18:00 So you're asking about the prophecy 18:02 about the Antichrist. 18:03 One of the most amazing prophecies, 18:05 I've taught this around the world. 18:07 And I've seen thousands, tens of thousands of atheists 18:12 give up their atheism 18:14 and their unbelief and their cynicism, 18:16 and their despair and darkness, 18:18 as they discovered that there is evidence for God. 18:21 Now I'm going to come over here to Daniel Chapter 7, 18:24 and I'm going to read to you verse 2. 18:29 This is another prophetic vision. 18:33 I don't ask you just to believe it. 18:34 I say just listen to it, and you be the judge. 18:39 "Daniel said: 18:40 'In my vision at night I looked, 18:42 and there before me 18:43 were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. 18:48 Four great beasts, each different from the others, 18:51 came up out of the sea." 18:57 Now, in this vision, 18:58 he sees the sea lashed into fury. 19:01 And then he sees these four great beasts 19:04 which are described right here in Daniel Chapter 7. 19:09 The first is a lion, 19:11 and it has the wings of an eagle. 19:14 The second is a bear with three ribs in his mouth. 19:18 The third is a leopard that has four wings. 19:22 You won't see these guys in your local zoo. 19:26 And the fourth is a tremendous monster. 19:30 This monster comes up in great power and great fury, 19:35 and it's trampling underfoot the whole wide world. 19:39 But here you've got the lion, the bear, 19:40 the leopard, the monster. 19:42 Then the monster's got 10 horns. 19:46 And then you got a little horn 19:48 that comes up among the 10 horns, 19:50 overthrows three horns. 19:53 He's the Antichrist. 19:55 Then he rules the world for more than 1000 years. 19:59 And then finally, there is Judgment Day. 20:03 Now, listen carefully. 20:06 This is a repeat 20:11 of the vision 20:13 or the prophecy of Daniel Chapter 2. 20:18 The great metal man, head of gold, chest of silver, 20:20 belly and thighs of bronze, you know it all, 20:22 legs of iron, feet part of iron and part of clay, 20:25 then comes the great big stone. 20:27 This is a repeat, 20:29 I don't have time to go into the details. 20:31 But the lion, 20:33 like the head is Babylon, 20:35 the bear is Medo-Persia, 20:38 the leopard is Greece under Alexander the Great. 20:42 The four heads represent 20:44 the breakup of the Kingdom of Alexander 20:48 into those four kingdoms 20:50 under Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucus, and Ptolemy. 20:54 Don't have time to go into that stuff. 20:55 That is history. 20:57 Then the great awful beast is the Roman Empire, 21:03 the legs of iron, do you get it? 21:06 Well, millions of people around the world 21:08 have come to my meetings of God. 21:09 I put these things up on giant screens, 21:12 and I've had so many, 21:13 I've had millions and thousands and thousands, 21:16 tens of thousands of communists and atheists, 21:18 they got it, you can get it, I can get it. 21:22 So this terrible dragon is the Roman Empire. 21:26 The 10 horns like the 10 toes 21:29 represent the breakup of the Roman Empire 21:32 into the kingdoms and the states of Europe. 21:36 And the little king who comes up among them, 21:39 that's the little horn. 21:41 The Bible says 21:42 the little horn is another king. 21:44 That's the Antichrist. 21:47 You want to know who he is? 21:51 Why is the separation of church and state important? 21:58 Let me try to give 22:00 a somewhat adequate explanation to that great question. 22:06 You had Babylon followed by Medo-Persia, 22:08 followed by Greece 22:10 that broke up, Cassander, Lysimachus, 22:12 Seleucus, and Ptolemy, all that historical stuff. 22:16 Then you have the Empire of the Caesars, 22:19 the iron monarchy of Rome. 22:20 That's the great dragon beast of Daniel Chapter 7, 22:23 the legs of iron of Daniel Chapter 2. 22:26 Are these very toughs, 22:27 no, these are profound, amazing truths 22:30 that are shown to be true by history. 22:32 We're dealing here with a divine signs. 22:36 Then you have the kingdoms of Europe, 22:38 represented by the 10 toes of Daniel Chapter 2, 22:40 the great metal man, 22:42 but represented by the 10 horns on the dragon beast 22:45 of Daniel chapter 7. 22:48 Then there's a stirring, and up comes another king, 22:52 because these 10 horns represent 10 kings, 22:54 the Bible says it. 22:56 It actually says that these 10 horns are 10 kings, 22:59 but another king will come after them. 23:00 I can read it to you here in Daniel 7. 23:04 Now, between around 300 and 500 AD, 23:08 another power came on the European scene. 23:12 It was another Caesar. 23:14 Oh, he was another Caesar. 23:16 We have here the development of the church state system 23:22 of the Dark Ages. 23:25 This is referring to the great church 23:28 that became a coalition of church in power. 23:31 That is the very essence of Antichrist. 23:35 I know many of my friends believe it'd be a great thing 23:38 if we could have church and state 23:40 united together again. 23:41 Hey, you don't know 23:43 what you're talking about friend. 23:46 Because when church and state were united in Europe, 23:50 for around 1000 years, there was bloody persecution. 23:54 And some would say 23:56 millions of people were put to death. 23:59 Ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition? 24:02 Hey, I've shown these pictures around the world. 24:06 The Inquisition, who was running it? 24:09 The so-called Christian Church. 24:13 Was it really the Christian church? 24:15 No. 24:17 It was a counterfeit, a big political organization. 24:21 Whenever you've got church and state joined together 24:24 enforcing religious laws and persecuting people, 24:28 there you got the essence and the soul of Antichrist. 24:33 That's why I believe so much in the American Constitution 24:37 that says, church and state 24:39 must not be joined together. 24:43 Think about it. 24:46 Daniel 2, the history of the world. 24:47 Daniel 7, the history of the world, 24:50 the history of Europe. 24:52 Then you have the great stone that comes. 24:57 Then in Daniel 7 have Great Judgment Day. 25:02 Every word, listen carefully, 25:05 every word these prophecies has come to pass. 25:10 That is why the atheists 25:12 in Russia, Ukraine and other places 25:14 have said to me, 25:15 we can no longer stay in unbelief. 25:20 We now believe there's a living God. 25:22 And I've told them, well, they are. 25:24 If that is so, 25:25 that's the best news you've ever had, 25:29 because the best is yet to be. 25:30 You know where you came from, you know why you're here, 25:33 you came from the hand of God. 25:34 And you know, 25:36 there's a wonderful new world coming. 25:39 And I have said to them over and over again, 25:42 as I say to you, 25:44 accept the good news, 25:46 and believe in the God who believes in you. 26:06 Jesus said, 26:07 "All authority has been given to Me 26:09 in heaven and on earth. 26:11 Go therefore, 26:13 and make disciples of all the nations, 26:16 baptizing them in the name of the Father, 26:18 and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." 26:23 John Carter Reports, 26:25 we have seen God's power 26:27 as the Gospel of Christ has been proclaimed in Africa, 26:32 India, 26:35 Russia, 26:37 Ukraine, 26:40 Cuba, 26:43 El Salvador, 26:45 and many other places. 26:47 We invite you 26:48 to partner with us in proclaiming Jesus Christ. 26:56 To God be the glory. 26:59 Great things He has done. 27:03 Write today to the Carter Report, 27:06 P.O.
