00:02 to teach this program in Manila, 00:04 but now at his studio in Los Angeles. 00:07 During the COVID-19 restrictions, 00:09 John Carter will teach us how to find hope, inspiration, 00:13 and power in the world to come. 00:15 There are brighter days ahead 00:17 in God's wonderful world of tomorrow. 00:19 And now here is John Carter. 00:23 Hi, friend. 00:25 I'm John Carter here in Southern California, 00:27 in the beautiful little city of Moorpark, 00:31 right on the borders of the great bustling city 00:34 of Los Angeles, 00:36 where thousands and thousands of people 00:39 have died 00:41 and continue to die 00:42 from this accursed virus COVID-19. 00:48 And people are asking the question, 00:50 "Do we have happy days coming? 00:52 Are things going to get better?" 00:56 And so I prepared this talk. 00:58 It's entitled, 01:00 "The Power of The World to Come." 01:04 You see, I believe in the world to come. 01:08 I believe things are going to get better. 01:12 In fact, 01:13 I believe things are going to get 01:16 a million times better. 01:20 Vera Lynn, great name, 01:23 great person, great singer. 01:27 When the Nazis were trying to pulverize Britain 01:31 into the dust every night, 01:34 with their bombs raining from haven, 01:38 Vera Lynn started singing. 01:42 And her words, 01:44 the words of his song 01:45 made a tremendous impression 01:47 upon the British people 01:49 who were looking for hope. 01:51 She sang the song, "We'll Meet Again." 01:57 That's what they wanted to hear. 01:59 This is not the end, but we'll meet again. 02:05 Just recently, 02:06 the Queen gave a speech to her people 02:09 about COVID-19. 02:12 And she did her best in her wonderful way 02:15 to encourage the hearts of the British people. 02:19 And she finished her speech 02:21 with the words of Vera Lynn's song. 02:25 She said to the British people, we'll meet again. 02:31 Now Vera Lynn died just the other day. 02:34 She died 103 years of age. 02:38 But I believe, my friend, 02:40 I believe the words of the song that was sung 02:44 when the bombs were falling upon London. 02:48 I believe we shall meet again 02:53 because I wanna tell you something, 02:55 my friends, 02:57 I believe that God is preparing a wonderful world of tomorrow. 03:02 And I'm going to take my Bible 03:04 and I want you please to notice these texts. 03:07 I'm going to turn over here to the Prophet Isaiah. 03:12 This is just a tremendous book, Isaiah Chapter 65. 03:18 And here it is, verse 17. 03:21 Are you listening to me today? 03:23 Here it is. 03:26 "For behold, 03:27 I create new heavens and a new earth, " 03:32 we'll meet again. 03:34 "Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, 03:39 and the former shall not be remembered 03:42 or come to mind." 03:44 Because it'll be swallowed up 03:46 by the glories of the power of the world to come. 03:50 So this is a great truth I sent out to you today, 03:56 across America on 3ABN 04:00 and all of the other stations 04:02 which we have the privilege of broadcasting on. 04:06 The message is, 04:08 God is preparing a wonderful, wonderful new world. 04:14 And yes, we'll meet again. 04:17 Now I'm going to come over here 04:18 to just a tremendous, marvelous passage 04:22 in 1 Corinthians 2:9 04:28 that is found over in the New Testament, 04:32 dear hearts and gentle people. 04:34 1 Corinthians 2:9, are you listening to me? 04:39 Here it is. 04:41 "But as it is written: 04:44 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, 04:49 nor have entered into the heart of man 04:53 the things which God has prepared 04:56 for those who love Him.'" 04:59 Now we've had glimpses into this wonderful world, 05:03 the Bible gives us some glimpses, 05:07 but you just can't understand it, 05:09 my friend, 05:10 because it is going to be better than anything 05:13 that we can imagine. 05:15 It is greater than the human mind 05:18 can contemplate and realize 05:21 because the great message is, yes, 05:25 we will meet again, 05:27 in a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, 05:30 marvelous new world. 05:31 So that's why today 05:33 during this time of national crisis, 05:36 I'm talking to my friends across America 05:39 and around the world. 05:41 And I'm telling you, there is a new world coming, 05:43 and we're talking today 05:45 about the power of the world to come. 05:48 So listen very carefully. 05:52 Now the Bible, which I believe 05:53 is the Word of God tells me this. 05:55 The Bible says there are three heavens. 06:00 Yes, there are three heavens, a summary, the atmospheric, 06:06 number one, then the stellar heavens, 06:09 and then there is a place beyond the stars. 06:13 And we're going to talk about that 06:14 the heaven of heavens. 06:16 I'm going to turn in my Bible to 2 Corinthians 12:2 06:21 and I hope you're having a good day today 06:23 because we've got bright hope in our hearts 06:26 because we'll meet again. 06:29 2 Corinthians 12:2, are you listening? 06:34 Here it is. 06:36 "I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago, 06:39 whether in the body I do not know, 06:41 or whether out of the body I do not know. 06:44 God knows, 06:45 such a one was caught up to the third heaven." 06:48 Did you hear this? 06:50 The Bible talks about the third heaven. 06:52 Now, my friend, if there is a third heaven, 06:56 there's got to be a first heaven 06:58 and there's got to be a second heaven, 07:00 and then you have the heaven of heavens, 07:03 and it is called in the Holy Bible, 07:06 the third heaven, 07:08 and we're going to talk 07:10 especially about these heavens. 07:12 Now the first heaven, the first heaven, remember, 07:15 there are three heavens, 07:16 but the first heaven is the atmospheric heaven, 07:21 which is like a swaddling cloth to a baby, 07:26 and it surrounds the earth. 07:28 And the Bible talks about it in Revelation 19:17. 07:35 And I want you please, to notice the text. 07:40 "Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, 07:44 and he cried with a loud voice, 07:45 saying to all the birds 07:48 that fly in the midst of heaven." 07:50 This is not talking about the stars, 07:53 it's talking about the atmosphere. 07:55 "The birds that fly in the midst of heaven, 07:57 'Come and gather yourselves together 08:00 for the great day of God.'" 08:02 Now we're not gonna talk about the birds 08:04 or anything like that today because we don't have time, 08:06 but we're talking about a heaven, 08:09 which is the habitation of the birds. 08:12 That is the first heaven, we call it the atmosphere. 08:16 Now the second heaven 08:18 is where God has placed 08:19 a billion, trillion blazing suns, 08:23 we call it the starry heavens. 08:25 It is mentioned in Psalm 19:1 and 4. 08:29 Psalm 19:1 and 4, now listen to me please. 08:33 "The heavens..." 08:35 He's not talking about where the birds fly. 08:37 "The heavens declare the glory of God, 08:40 and the firmament shows His handiwork." 08:43 We're talking now about the stellar heavens. 08:46 "Their line has gone out through all the earth, 08:48 and their words to the end of the world. 08:52 In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun." 08:57 Number one, atmosphere. 08:59 Number two, the stellar heavens. 09:04 Words are not sufficient to talk about the glory 09:08 and the power and the majesty 09:11 of the stellar heavens. 09:16 Did you know this? 09:17 And if you've heard my lectures on astronomy, 09:20 you know a bit about this, that they counted 2 trillion, 09:25 that's 2,000 billion galaxies. 09:30 Many of those galaxies are bigger than our galaxy, 09:33 which is called the Milky Way system. 09:35 And in every one of those tremendous galaxies, 09:39 you've got at least 100 billion blazing stars, 09:45 suns, 09:47 then you got comets and black holes 09:49 and you got all these amazing things. 09:51 Look at this. 09:53 Look at this amazing picture from NASA. 09:56 Every one of those things are... 09:59 How can I describe it? 10:01 Every one of those galaxies 10:04 is made up of 100,000 million, 10:10 that's 100 billion blazing suns. 10:16 No wonder, the Bible says, 10:18 "The heavens declare the glory of God." 10:22 Where did this come from? 10:23 This came from the hand of Almighty God. 10:29 So what is God like, my friend? 10:31 God is a person, 10:34 but God is incomprehensible to our tiny little minds. 10:39 We know what He's like 10:40 because He sent His Son in the person of Jesus. 10:43 God loves you. 10:44 God is a loving God, 10:46 but He is a tremendous God with tremendous power 10:51 and with tremendous, tremendous majesty 10:56 and tremendous glory. 10:58 And today, we're talking 11:00 about the power of the world to come 11:04 because the great God who made the universe 11:07 is preparing a place for God's people 11:11 and we'll meet again because death is not the end. 11:18 Now we're going to come to 2 Corinthians 12:2 and 4. 11:23 And I want you to listen to the text. 11:25 I want you to take the time. 11:26 I want you to allow these truths to sink down 11:29 into the molecules of your mind. 11:31 What do you say? 11:33 2 Corinthians 12:2, 11:35 "I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago, 11:38 whether in the body I do not know, 11:40 whether out of the body I do not know." 11:41 He's saying whether I got there physically 11:43 or whether I had a vision and I don't know. 11:46 "God knows such a one was caught up 11:49 to the third heaven." 11:51 Verse 4. 11:52 "How that he was caught up..." 11:53 Listen to this. It's astounding. 11:55 "How that he was caught up into Paradise 11:59 and heard inexpressible words, 12:02 which it is not lawful for a man to utter." 12:05 It was so amazing that he couldn't describe it. 12:09 He couldn't bring the words forth. 12:12 Heaven number one, the atmosphere. 12:14 Heaven number two, where the stars are. 12:17 Two trillion galaxies, 12:20 each made up of at least 100 billion blazing suns. 12:24 You can't take this in, it's just too big 12:27 because God is so great, 12:29 but the Bible tells me 12:31 there is a place that is called paradise. 12:36 And this is where the throne of Almighty God 12:39 is amazing and wonderful and true. 12:45 Now listen, I just want to explain this 12:48 a little bit to you. 12:51 Here is our universe. 12:54 Here is the cosmos. 12:57 To go across, 12:58 it would take you 150 billion years 13:03 at the speed of light. 13:05 If you were to travel at 186, can you get this? 13:09 It's too much for me. 13:10 If you were to travel at 186,000 miles a second, 13:14 it will take you 150 billion years 13:16 to cross our universe. 13:21 It's made up of 2 trillion, that's 2,000 billion galaxies, 13:27 like the Milky Way system. 13:29 People say I can't believe it. 13:30 You can't believe in God. 13:33 Where did this come from? 13:34 This came from the hand of Almighty God. 13:37 Now, there you got our universe, 13:40 but the Bible talks about something else. 13:42 Now listen to this, 13:43 this maybe never thought about this before. 13:47 The Bible talks about a third heaven, 13:50 a third heaven, 13:51 and the Bible gives the name to this third heaven, 13:54 it calls it by the name paradise. 13:58 It is where the very center of all God's operations are, 14:05 it is called in other parts of the scriptures 14:09 the Father's house. 14:11 Now, my friend, I believe 14:12 that there could be 14:14 a trillion universes like our universe. 14:20 I think it's just so big for these minds 14:22 to try to understand, 14:25 but the Bible says there is a place 14:29 that existed before our galaxy. 14:32 You see, our galaxy is finite. 14:36 It came into being in a certain time, 14:40 in a certain phase, it is finite. 14:44 It had a beginning 14:45 and one day it is going to have 14:48 the ancient prophets would say, 14:49 it is going to have an ending 14:52 and that's when the new world is going to start. 14:57 That's when God is going to make 14:58 old things new, 14:59 but the Bible tells me there is a place, 15:02 which is the very center of God's operations. 15:07 It is called paradise. 15:10 It is also called the Father's house. 15:14 Now I'm going to read you text on this day, 15:15 you're gonna say to me today, John Carter, 15:17 never heard stuff like this before. 15:20 Well, that's another reason 15:21 why you need just to stay awake and listen up 15:24 because this is the truth of God. 15:26 And it tells you how big God is. 15:29 How amazing God is? 15:31 You and I don't need to be afraid 15:33 of anything or any person 15:35 because God is infinite and mighty. 15:38 And this God cares for you and He loves you. 15:42 And that's why we can sing, We'll Meet Again. 15:45 Now here we go, John 14:1-3. 15:50 Jesus said, 15:51 "Let not your hearts be troubled." 15:53 Hey, do I need to hear that, I showed you. 15:56 "Let not your hearts be troubled." 15:57 What about the pandemic? 15:59 Let not your hearts be troubled. 16:01 What about our collapsing economy? 16:02 "Let not your hearts be troubled. 16:06 You believe in God, believe also in Me." 16:09 Don't be full of fear, believe in God, 16:13 and also believe in Christ. 16:15 "In My Father's house are many mansions." 16:17 That's paradise. 16:19 "In My Father's house." 16:22 Now this is spoken in human language 16:24 so we people with little brains can get it. 16:27 The Bible talks about God and calls Him the Father. 16:30 And it says He's got a house. 16:31 In My Father's house are many mansions, 16:34 there's one for you too. 16:36 "If it were not so, I would have told you. 16:39 I go to prepare a price for you." 16:41 He's going to prepare a place for us. 16:44 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, 16:46 I will come again." 16:48 Jesus said, "I'm going to come again." 16:51 Let that sink down 16:52 into the molecules of your mind right now 16:55 and you won't be afraid. 16:57 Jesus said, "I will come again and receive you to Myself, 17:01 that where I am, there you may be also." 17:06 So let me try to make this plain. 17:10 It's the first heaven's where the atmosphere is. 17:14 The second heaven where the stars are. 17:18 Billions and trillions of stars, vast, 17:24 made by an Almighty God, 17:26 and then the Bible tells me there is a third heaven 17:29 and it is called by the name paradise. 17:32 It is the Father's house and Jesus Christ. 17:35 Our Lord said, 17:36 "I'm going to leave you for a little bit." 17:39 And he said, 17:41 "I'm going to come back and I'm going to take you. 17:46 I'm going to take you somewhere marvelous." 17:48 And he said, 17:49 "I'm going to prepare a place for you." 17:54 Are you listening to me, my friend? 17:58 Jesus said, 18:00 "I'm going to go beyond the stars. 18:04 I'm going to go to My Father's house, 18:07 and I'm going to go there for a special purpose. 18:10 I'm going to prepare a place for you." 18:15 And I can shout out hallelujah. 18:18 Thank God, 18:20 Jesus is preparing a place for us, 18:23 and we'll meet again. 18:28 And He said, "I will come again." 18:33 So okay. 18:35 Let me just try to make this plain right now. 18:39 Christ is preparing a place for you and for me. 18:46 God has not forgotten us. 18:49 God has not forsaken this world. 18:52 The Bible tells us 18:55 God the great creator 18:56 in the person of Christ became a man. 19:00 You say, "This is incomprehensible." 19:02 No, it's not. 19:04 You and I can understand it if we open up our minds today 19:07 to the Spirit of God. 19:08 The Bible tells me 19:10 that the great created God in Christ, 19:12 He became a man. 19:15 And the Bible tells us, "He came and lived among us." 19:18 And then the Bible says, 19:20 "He died for our sins on the cross." 19:23 What is God like? 19:26 Absolutely marvelous, full of love, full of mercy, 19:30 full of compassion. 19:32 And He loved you so much 19:33 that He left the glories of paradise, 19:36 the Father's house, 19:37 and He came down to this hellhole. 19:41 It's a hellhole because of our rebellion 19:44 and because we've turned away from God, 19:46 and we have broken His commandments. 19:50 Don't blame God for the scourges of sin, 19:55 my friend. 19:57 And so God came down to this planet 19:59 in the person of Christ and He said, 20:02 "I'm going to prepare a place for you. 20:04 And I'm going to come again." 20:06 I believe that Christ will come again. 20:11 So what sort of place is He preparing I wonder? 20:14 I'm gonna come over here 20:15 to the Book of Hebrews Chapter 11. 20:19 That's in the New Testament. 20:21 Book of Hebrews. 20:24 Give me a second. 20:25 Hebrews 11. 20:27 Getting close, Hebrews 11:16. 20:32 You folks ready to hear about this place? 20:34 Hebrews 11:16, 20:37 "But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country." 20:42 It's called a country. 20:44 That's amazing. 20:46 I sort of like the country. 20:47 "But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. 20:52 Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, 20:55 for He has prepared a city for them." 21:00 The Bible says that this wonderful new world 21:04 is going to be a magnificent country 21:09 and it is going to have a capital over it. 21:15 And folks, I like cities a bit, but cities can get, 21:20 you know, sort of blasa 21:22 and they can wear on the census. 21:25 Good to get out of the cities 21:27 and get out 21:28 into the God's great open air sanctuary. 21:34 When you can look up at the stars at night 21:36 and look into the face of God. 21:40 The Bible says this wonderful new world 21:43 that we like to call heaven. 21:45 It is called a country. 21:50 No smog. 21:53 No poverty. 21:55 None of those terrible things. 21:57 No pandemics, no funerals. 21:59 None of those things I'm telling you today. 22:04 And the Bible says 22:05 that Jesus is preparing 22:07 a magnificent place for His people. 22:11 And over it, there is a heavenly city, 22:15 which is incomprehensible to our little finite minds. 22:21 I meet people who say, 22:22 "I can't believe any of this stuff. 22:24 I don't believe anything. I don't understand." 22:27 I mean, what a silly thing to say. 22:30 Do you understand electricity? 22:32 Just because you can give a name to something, 22:34 it doesn't mean you can understand it. 22:37 No, we believe in lots of things 22:39 we don't understand. 22:41 And I... 22:42 There's a lot of things in the Bible 22:43 I don't understand, 22:45 but I believe them because it's the truth. 22:49 Now I'm going to turn over here now 22:51 where we have this description of the city of the future. 22:54 Revelation 21:10-11. 22:59 Listen to it. 23:00 "And he carried me away in the Spirit 23:03 to a great and high mountain, 23:06 and showed me the great city, " 23:09 greater than New York, greater than Moscow, 23:13 greater than Rome, greater than Los Angeles, 23:17 greater than Sydney, greater than any earthly city, 23:20 "the holy Jerusalem." 23:22 Not the old one 23:24 'cause the old one's not too holy. 23:27 "The Holy Jerusalem, 23:29 descending out of heaven from God, 23:31 having the glory of God. 23:34 Her light was like a most precious stone, 23:39 like a jasper stone, clear as crystal." 23:44 Incomprehensibly beautiful, 23:48 magnificent, and wonderful. 23:53 And God is preparing this for His people. 23:55 God has not forgotten us. 23:59 And we'll meet again. 24:00 You know, 24:02 even the size of this city is described. 24:06 It says it's more than 1,000 miles. 24:10 You say now is everything here completely literal? 24:12 Well, I'm gonna wait and find out, 24:15 but it's so big 24:16 that there's room for every person 24:18 who's ever lived on the planet. 24:20 And some skeptic will come along and say, 24:21 "Well, you know, 24:23 if everybody was brought back from the dead, 24:25 there wouldn't be room for every person 24:27 to get into heaven." 24:29 "Well, what would you know about it?" 24:30 I asked the skeptic. 24:32 What would you know about truly?
