00:04 In Havana, Cuba. 00:07 Now in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 00:10 I'm John Carter in Petra. 00:13 Right here in Communist China. 00:16 Reporting from India. 00:18 Hi, I'm John Carter in the Solomon Islands. 00:21 I'm John Carter in Soweto. 00:24 From El Salvador. 00:26 I'm John Carter in Sydney, Australia. 00:30 Now here's John Carter with today's message. 00:37 Hello, friend. 00:38 I'm John Carter. 00:40 Welcome today to a very, very special edition 00:43 of the Carter Report. 00:46 This is a time of worldwide crisis. 00:49 We're facing an existential threat. 00:54 This is not something in fiction. 00:57 This is real. 00:59 And today, we're going to talk about the coronavirus, 01:02 COVID-19 01:05 and what you and I can do about it. 01:10 The situation is really so severe 01:13 that the president of the United States 01:16 has declared it a national state of emergency. 01:20 That hasn't happened for many, many years. 01:24 He's also called for a great day of prayer 01:28 because everybody around the world recognizes 01:31 that this is not another day 01:35 at the office. 01:37 This is a time 01:39 of extreme emergency. 01:43 And I've got some amazing facts 01:45 to share with you today, 01:48 facts that you're not going to hear anywhere else, 01:51 I believe. 01:52 And so I welcome you today to this special edition. 01:57 Schools and churches have been closed. 01:59 Yes, even churches have been told to closed down. 02:02 This is an attempt to stop the spread 02:05 of this dreadful virus. 02:07 Sporting events have been cancelled 02:10 and even Disneyland has closed down. 02:13 It's a disaster when Disneyland closes down, 02:16 believe me. 02:17 Flights to Europe from America have been cancelled. 02:21 Italy is in a lockdown 02:25 and thousands are dying in Italy. 02:30 India is also in lockdown. 02:33 Australia is in lockdown. 02:35 Spain... We can go on and on. 02:38 Here in Los Angeles, 02:40 we've been told to stay home. 02:44 You'll notice today we don't have an audience. 02:47 I'm here in the studio, the Carter Report studio 02:50 in Southern California by myself. 02:53 We have no camera people. 02:55 Can you believe this? 02:57 The cameras are on lockdown. 02:59 We have no camera people. 03:03 So I'm here today in the studio by myself. 03:07 This is sort of a wakeup call. 03:10 Our own evangelistic campaign in Manila 03:13 has been cancelled 03:16 or put on hold. 03:18 I was on my way to Manila via Australia, 03:22 had my ticket in my hand, 03:25 got through Australia 03:27 so my body clock would adjust to the different time zones. 03:31 And then I had to turn around and come back to America 03:36 because Manila was closed down. 03:39 No flights from Australia to the Philippines. 03:43 Manila is a closed city. 03:47 Now before we go any farther today, 03:50 I wanna have a prayer with you. 03:52 I wanna have a really earnest prayer with you 03:54 because of the crisis of the moment. 03:59 I mean, telling folks, asking folks 04:02 if you want a special prayer for your loved ones, 04:04 those with COVID-19, 04:08 I've been saying also for those on the frontline, 04:11 our doctors and our nurses. 04:14 If you want us to pray for them, 04:16 please send me their names. 04:19 I would like to pray for them. 04:21 So people who have been sending me 04:23 the names of doctors and so forth. 04:24 And I'm going to start with my own daughter, 04:28 our own daughter, 04:30 Julie Carter Haring, 04:31 who is working with COVID-19 patients 04:36 right now in San Francisco 04:38 with her husband Keith Haring who's an anesthesiologist, 04:43 Dr. Victor Coba in the ICU COVID-19 04:48 in the great State of Michigan, 04:50 Greg Hammond, doctor in Australia, 04:54 on the frontline, Dr. Erik Kerekes, Long Beach, 04:58 Dr. D Burgos in Dallas, 05:01 Dr. Robert Burgos, Burleson Hospital, 05:04 I know that place, been there. 05:07 Valerie Coober in UCLA, 05:11 University of California, Los Angeles, 05:14 Dr. Javier Piraino in Philadelphia 05:16 on the frontline, 05:18 Dr. Angela Shedd 05:21 and Dr. Justin Derek from Texas 05:24 and also a great Texas dentist as well. 05:28 Dr. Marc Judd, here in Southern California, 05:32 Dr. Daphne Wong, 05:34 Las Vegas Medical Centre, 05:37 Ryan Nelson, Detroit, 05:39 helping treat 90 patients with only 40 ventilators. 05:43 My friend, let us pray today for these people. 05:46 Would you bow your heads? 05:48 Oh, my Father, 05:50 we thank You today for the Bible. 05:52 We thank You for Christ. 05:54 We thank You for salvation in the mighty name of Jesus. 05:59 And we thank You that Jesus is Lord 06:03 and He's Lord over the coronavirus. 06:06 We pray for all of these doctors 06:07 and these nurses. 06:09 We pray for the doctors and the nurses 06:12 around the world, 06:13 across this great land of the United States 06:17 and everywhere. 06:19 We pray that You'll put Your hand upon them, Lord, 06:21 and in the name of Jesus, protect them. 06:25 We pray for our people. 06:27 We pray for those who are suffering 06:29 from this dreadful virus. 06:33 Our prayer is even so come, Lord Jesus. 06:36 Bless Your people. 06:38 And according to Your riches and glory, 06:41 we pray that you will restrain 06:45 COVID-19. 06:48 Hear our prayer, oh, Lord, 06:50 for Jesus' sake, amen and amen. 06:54 And you can send me your prayer requests 06:57 and I'll do everything I can. 07:00 What can we do? 07:03 First and foremost, we shall not be afraid. 07:06 You folks hear what I'm saying here today? 07:09 I don't have an audience here in the studio, 07:11 but I'm talking to you around the world. 07:16 We shall not be afraid. 07:21 I'm gonna turn to a text, Psalm 23:4. 07:25 Now this is a text, I'd say to you, 07:28 that you ought to learn or by heart it, 07:30 if you don't know it 07:32 because we need to get these texts 07:35 into our minds, 07:36 because we're living in a great time of trouble. 07:41 Psalm 23... 07:42 But God is alive. 07:45 Psalm 23:4, 07:47 "Yea, though I walk through the valley 07:51 of the shadow of death, 07:56 I will fear no evil, 08:00 for You are with me. 08:02 Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." 08:04 Praise God! 08:07 Number of years ago 08:09 when I was in Russia in St. Petersburg, 08:11 we ran this campaign in this vast palace, a spot, 08:15 packed to the doors, 08:16 night after night, night after night. 08:19 But I'd been working so hard 08:22 that I got dreadfully sick. 08:26 And I was rushed in a Russian ambulance 08:30 into this great Russian hospital. 08:34 And I was there by myself alone. 08:40 Nobody could speak English. 08:43 One night, my blood pressure went down, down, down. 08:48 I was able to take it. I knew it was critical. 08:51 It's going to kill me. 08:53 And so I got my Bible open and I read Psalm 23. 08:57 "Even though I walk 08:59 through the valley of the shadow of death, 09:01 I will fear no evil." 09:04 I want to tell you folks something. 09:06 I want you to hear this. 09:08 We're not just talking 09:10 on a bunch of religion here today. 09:12 We're talking the truth of the Bible. 09:16 And whatever ever happens, I want you to know this. 09:20 We will fear no evil. 09:23 With God, we're never alone, we are never forsaken. 09:27 God has promised us eternal life, 09:29 so we shall not fear that coronavirus. 09:33 I want you to take your Bible if you can. 09:35 Come over here to John 11:23-27. 09:40 John 11:23-27. 09:47 "Jesus said to her, 'Your brother will rise again.' 09:51 Martha said to Him, 'I know that he will rise again 09:54 in the resurrection at the last day.' 09:58 Jesus said to her, 10:00 'I am the resurrection and the life. 10:02 He who believes in Me, 10:04 though he may die, he shall live. 10:06 And whoever lives and believes in Me 10:08 shall never die. 10:10 Do you believe this?'" 10:12 Now good people are going to die 10:15 and are dying with the coronavirus. 10:19 But if you are in Christ, 10:22 you'll have everlasting life. 10:25 I want you to believe this. 10:26 We're not gonna be afraid of this thing. 10:29 We're not gonna be afraid of this thing. 10:33 We shall not be afraid. 10:36 But we shall know the facts and act intelligently. 10:39 Do you wanna know the facts? 10:42 Now facts are sometimes very, very inconvenient. 10:47 You know the first casualty of a war, my friend? 10:51 The first casualty of a war, do you know what it is, 10:54 brother, sister? 10:56 It's the truth. 10:58 And we are in a time of war. 11:01 And we're in great danger of getting away from the truth 11:05 and a bit of writing the truth. 11:07 But I wanna tell you, by the grace of God, 11:09 I'm here today to tell you the truth 11:14 because if we have the truth, 11:17 the truth will set us free. 11:19 And let me say this, we're not gonna be afraid, 11:22 but we should all know the facts 11:24 and we shall act intelligently. 11:28 And here's some facts about the coronavirus. 11:32 There's one thing that I wanna make very plain. 11:37 There's no place in this 11:39 for anti-Asian sentiment. 11:42 This has been happening 11:44 in the United States of America. 11:46 Some Asians have been harassed. 11:51 There's no time for anti-Chinese sentiment. 11:54 We love the Chinese people. God loves the Chinese people. 11:58 God wants the Chinese people to come to Christ. 12:03 And I need to tell you the facts. 12:05 So did you get a plane? 12:07 Is there room for racism 12:08 or anti-Asian sentiments or feelings? 12:13 In fact, the Carter Report, we employ Asians, 12:16 we love Asian people. 12:18 We employ Chinese people. 12:20 They're great workers, I tell you. 12:24 But some leading 12:26 Chinese communist officials 12:30 have been making the outrageous claim 12:32 that America is responsible for the coronavirus. 12:37 They've been telling the people in Italy. 12:41 They've been spreading it all around China 12:43 and around the world. 12:46 This is plain communist propaganda 12:48 to shift the spotlight of where it belongs, 12:53 on China and her food markets. 12:57 During October 2019, 13:00 there was the Military World Games 13:03 in Wuhan, 13:06 and Americans attended, soldiers. 13:10 Supposedly, 13:12 the Americans infected the local food market, 13:17 where animals are sold with the virus 13:20 that had been invented by the CIA. 13:25 Now you listen carefully. 13:28 This story has also been spread by Zvezda, 13:32 founded by the Russian Defense Ministry. 13:34 It is being spread around the world. 13:39 But it is communist propaganda 13:42 and an enormous lie. 13:48 Now these remarks are not a slight 13:50 to the Chinese people. 13:53 If I'm disagreeing with anybody, 13:56 I'm disagreeing with the communist leadership 13:59 who have been spreading this outrageous lie. 14:04 Here is the plain truth. 14:07 You ready for the truth? 14:11 It is a custom of some of the Chinese people, 14:14 especially those in rural areas, 14:17 to eat wild animals 14:20 that are sold in the markets. 14:23 These animals include dogs, cats, wolf pups, snakes, 14:28 hedgehogs, rats, 14:31 and bats. 14:34 The coronavirus has come from these markets. 14:37 Listen, are you listening to me? 14:41 COVID-19 14:43 is an animal virus 14:48 that is now affecting multitudes 14:50 around the world. 14:52 I'm going to give you a stipend from the Walker Books. 14:54 I know this is gonna be sort of controversial 14:59 because we live in an age of political correctness. 15:03 And you got to say something 15:04 that's going to appeal to everybody, 15:05 and everybody's going to like. 15:07 Well, I'm afraid I'm not that sort of person. 15:10 I believe in the truth. 15:15 Have you ever wondered 15:16 why the Jewish people are so smart 15:19 and live so long? 15:22 And... 15:24 They're in the top echelons 15:29 of the most prestigious professions. 15:31 Have you ever wondered why? 15:34 Some of my best friends are Jewish people, 15:36 and I admire them. 15:39 And the Jewish people for thousands of years 15:41 have followed their health laws of the Old Testament. 15:46 Did you know that the Bible is a Jewish book? 15:49 No, no, no, no, no. 15:50 Oh, I'm sorry, friend. 15:53 All of the Apostles were Jews. 15:55 Jesus was a Jew. 15:57 The great St. Paul was a Jew, he's a greatest theologian. 16:01 All of the people of the Old Testament, 16:03 all are Jewish. 16:08 And so the Bible is a Jewish book, 16:12 but it's been given to everybody. 16:15 And as a Christian, I embrace the Bible. 16:20 The New Testament about Jesus, my blessed Lord, 16:23 and I also embrace, wait for this. 16:28 The health laws of the Bible, 16:32 health laws of the Bible. 16:34 Here the Jewish people have been following these 16:36 for thousands of years. 16:37 And that is one reason why they are so strong. 16:41 Now if you come to the Book of Leviticus Chapter 11. 16:45 Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, 16:48 you have some amazing and wonderful health laws. 16:53 A lot of people say to me, 16:55 "You know, we never heard this stuff before." 16:57 Well, my friend, all you got to do, 17:00 all you got to do is read it in the Bible. 17:02 Here it is, 17:03 Leviticus 11:41 and 42. 17:10 Here it comes. 17:12 "And every creeping thing that creeps on the earth 17:14 shall be an abomination. 17:16 It shall not be eaten. 17:18 Whatever crawls on its belly, whatever goes on all fours 17:21 or whatever has many feet 17:23 among all creeping things that creep on the earth, 17:26 you shall not eat, 17:28 for they are an abomination." 17:30 So the Bible says, don't eat snakes. 17:34 Don't eat these animals 17:37 like dogs and cats and rats. 17:41 And then Verse 44, 17:43 is that of the same chapter? 17:46 "For I am the Lord your God. 17:49 You shall therefore consecrate yourselves 17:51 and you shall be holy, for I am holy. 17:54 Neither shall you defile yourself 17:56 with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 18:00 But many people have not had the advantage that we have 18:03 of knowing these health laws of the Bible. 18:07 And then let me see 18:08 Leviticus 11:7 and 8. 18:14 It says, "And the swine." 18:16 Oh! 18:17 "And the swine, though divides the hoof, 18:20 having cloven hooves, 18:22 yet does not chew the cud, 18:24 is unclean to you. 18:27 Their flesh you shall not eat, 18:29 and their carcasses you shall not touch. 18:32 They are unclean to you." 18:34 So the Bible talks about certain animals 18:37 that are basically unclean. 18:40 Verse 12, says, 18:42 "Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales," 18:46 like salmon, so forth, 18:49 "that shall be an abomination to you." 18:51 There are some fish that are clean, 18:53 and there are some creatures in the sea, 18:55 the Bible says, don't eat them. 18:59 They're unclean. 19:00 And Verse 13, and 19, 19:04 "Among these you shall regard 19:06 as an abomination among the birds." 19:09 Hey, you're listening? 19:11 "They shall not be eaten, they are an abomination, 19:14 the eagle, the voucher, the buzzard." 19:19 Then verse, where is it? 19:21 Verse 14, I don't wanna lose this text. 19:25 I gave you Verse 13. 19:27 Now we come down to Verse 19. 19:31 "The stork, the heron after its kind, 19:35 the hoopoe, and the bat." 19:40 The bat gets a mentionable... 19:45 An honorable mention, I should say or dishonorable. 19:49 The Bible says don't eat those creatures. 19:53 And the Bible actually says don't eat the bat. 19:57 Don't eat those things that crawl along the ground. 20:02 So the Bible says this, 20:05 Bible said it thousands of years ago, 20:07 "Don't eat snakes, don't eat dogs, 20:10 don't eat hedgehogs, don't eat pigs, 20:14 and don't eat bats." 20:17 And that's one reason why the Jews live so long. 20:21 Why they have such a remarkable race? 20:25 Why are they so smart? 20:27 Because they have followed 20:29 the divinely inspired health laws of the Bible. 20:33 Now God knows more than you 20:35 and I know about those things that we can eat. 20:38 Now some of my friends tell me, 20:40 "But Jesus said everything was clean." 20:43 I have to answer this one. 20:47 So my friend said, 20:48 "Jesus said, everything is clean." 20:51 That's the teaching of the New Testament. 20:52 We can eat anything. 20:54 So I say to them, "Hey, would you eat a cockroach? 20:58 Would you do that? 21:00 Would eat a rat?" 21:01 Well, I said, "Well, you know, 21:02 there's some things we wouldn't eat 21:04 because obvious, here, obviously." 21:07 And the Bible tells us, 21:08 obviously the things that are fit to eat 21:10 and the things that aren't fit to eat, 21:13 and this virus came from places 21:17 where they were eating unclean foods. 21:21 I want you to look at Mark 7:1-3 21:24 because this is a passage that is thrown at me 21:27 on occasions by people who say 21:29 that you can eat anything because everything's clean. 21:32 "Then the Pharisees 21:34 and some of the scribes came together to Him, 21:36 having come from Jerusalem. 21:37 Now when they saw 21:39 some of His disciples eat bread was defiled, 21:42 that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault. 21:46 For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat 21:49 unless they wash their hands in a special way, 21:52 holding the tradition of the elders." 21:55 Now I wanna say to my friends, 21:57 Jesus here apparently is against this ceremony 22:02 of washing your hands, apparently. 22:05 That's what Jesus is against. 22:07 But every person believes in washing their hands. 22:10 If you don't wash your hands today 22:12 with this terrible virus around, 22:15 you just might kill yourself. 22:18 But Jesus here is talking about something that the Jews did, 22:22 the Pharisees did 22:24 because they thought that 22:26 outward washing made a person inwardly clean. 22:29 Now Jesus said, 22:30 just because you clean outside doesn't make you clean inside. 22:35 And in the same chapter, 22:36 He spoke about all types of other things, 22:39 and He made a summary, 22:41 thus making all things clean. 22:44 And Jesus was talking about the ceremonial law. 22:48 There's no such thing as a ceremonially 22:51 unclean animal. 22:53 But do you and I believe in washing our hands 22:56 because it's healthy. 22:58 And the Bible tells us that there are some foods 23:02 if you eat those animals, 23:04 they're going to make you very sick. 23:06 And in fact, 23:08 they just may kill you. 23:11 And so the Jews, my friend, 23:14 the Jews got it right. 23:16 And if that book had been followed, 23:18 just listen to this. 23:20 This is tremendously politically incorrect, 23:22 but so be it. 23:25 If the Chinese people in Wuhan 23:29 had followed the teachings of Leviticus Chapter 11, 23:33 we wouldn't have this crisis today 23:36 because COVID-19, 23:39 the coronavirus came from Wuhan, 23:44 and it came from these markets 23:46 where they are selling these wild animals. 23:51 I'm gonna quote you from the National Geographic. 23:53 I got a lot of things to tell you folks. 23:56 National Geographic says, 23:58 "The government in China allows 54 wild species 24:01 to be bred on farms and sold," 24:04 including snakes, cats, dogs. 24:07 "In the markets animals are dying. 24:09 They're thirsty. 24:10 They're in rusty cages and totally dirty." 24:14 It says, "They may be missing limbs 24:17 or have open wounds from the capture in the wild 24:20 or injury sustained during transportation." 24:25 "The traders don't handle them gently, 24:27 they smash their cages down to the floor 24:30 when loading or unloading, 24:32 the animal suffers a lot." 24:36 Why isn't there a worldwide protest 24:38 against this inhuman trafficking? 24:45 The National Geographic says, 24:47 "The chaos of the trade 24:48 enables the spread of zoonotic disease. 24:53 Those that spread from animals to human," 24:56 says Christian Walter, 24:58 Chief Global Veterinarian 25:00 at the US based Wildlife Conservation Society, 25:05 "Wild animals," he explains, 25:08 "can carry viruses that in a normal world 25:11 would not come into contact with humans. 25:15 These carriers aren't sick. 25:17 They're simple, silent reservoirs. 25:20 But as we encroach into animals habitats, 25:24 we increase our exposure." 25:26 This is where it's come from. 25:29 "Animals heaped in cages on top of each other. 25:33 They are sick, they are dying, they are bleeding, 25:36 they are defecating over each other." 25:39 Horror! Horror! Horror! 25:41 "They are exchanging viruses. 25:43 They are eaten by the people who have given us 25:47 COVID-19 the pandemic." 25:51 It would never have happened 25:55 if the people in Wuhan 25:58 had followed the remarkable teachings 26:02 of Leviticus Chapter 11. 26:05 Thank God for the Bible. 26:09 Now these remarks are not anti-Chinese 26:12 but anti-abuse of animals. 26:15 The Chinese government has passed a law 26:17 that forbids the sale of wild animals. 26:19 They did it before, so it might happen again. 26:23 I've got some amazing truths to tell you 26:27 about COVID-19. 26:30 Stay with me, please. 26:31 This is a time 26:33 of national worldwide of urgency. 26:37 I'll be back.
