What happened? 01:07 They put to death millions of people. 01:10 That's what happened. 01:11 A theocracy is when the government 01:14 and the church tell you how to worship God. 01:19 You know what that's called? 01:23 Millions of my American friends, 01:25 particularly in the religious world, 01:28 they think, "Hey, hallelujah, this is the greatest..." 01:32 Yeah, it is the greatest thing, right from the pit of hell. 01:37 A theocracy tells you what you've got to do. 01:43 And it forces you to do it. 01:46 And there's no freedom of choice. 01:50 So that's why it's Antichrist 01:52 because God gives us the gift of freedom. 01:56 That's what America is supposed to be all about. 02:00 Let freedom reign, you see. 02:03 I've got the right as an American 02:05 to worship or not to worship. 02:07 In the Dark Ages, 02:09 the great church of the Dark Ages 02:11 joined with the state put to death 02:13 millions and millions and tortured them too, 02:16 the people. 02:19 That's a theocracy. 02:21 But God doesn't have any theocracies now 02:25 because God gives us freedom of choice. 02:29 And that's what he gave to Adam and Eve, 02:32 freedom of choice. 02:34 That's what he gave to Lucifer, the covering cherub, 02:37 freedom of choice. 02:40 Can you love that freedom? 02:44 Can you love without a choice? 02:46 My friend, love demands a choice. 02:52 You can't love unless you can choose. 02:57 And because God is a God of love, 03:00 He gave us freedom of choice. 03:01 That's why a theocracy 03:04 is the abomination of desolation. 03:09 God permits, He warns, 03:13 He permits. 03:15 And when Adam and Eve sinned, they chose... 03:18 We talked about this in the first segment. 03:21 They chose the path of pain. 03:24 Don't blame God for pain. 03:29 The suffering today exists for two reasons basically. 03:34 Galatians 1:6-7. 03:36 Look at Galatians 1:6-7. 03:40 "Do not be deceived," don't be... 03:43 Don't be taken in. 03:45 "God is not mocked, 03:47 for whatever a man sows," 03:49 what does it say? 03:51 He's gonna reap it. 03:53 We are usually reaping what we sow. 03:58 If you get lung cancer, generally speaking, 04:03 not always, but generally, 04:05 it's because you made a really stupid choice 04:10 and smoked cigarettes. 04:12 Don't blame God. 04:15 Don't even blame the cigarette company. 04:18 You made the wrong choice. 04:20 Face up to it. 04:22 Now I've had lots of skin cancers, 04:25 one recently taken off my nose here, 04:30 and another one taken off here. 04:33 And when I was in Australia recently, one here, 04:36 and one here that I will not show you. 04:39 And a few years ago, 04:42 my American doctor found on my arm 04:45 a strange looking thing. 04:48 He said, you always get a bit scared when the doctor says, 04:51 "How long have you had that?" 04:53 A malignant melanoma, the worst type of cancer. 04:57 But first-aid, took it off, got it all, it was okay. 05:04 I got that because of the sins of my youth, 05:07 lying on the beach all day in Australia with fair skin. 05:11 Whatever you sow, you're going to reap. 05:15 But not all suffering is the result 05:17 of personal choices. 05:20 We are living in a sin-cursed world. 05:24 When Adam sinned, 05:27 he opened the floodgates of evil 05:30 and the innocents suffer. 05:34 Not all suffering is a personal choice. 05:39 But God has promised to abolish the reign of evil 05:42 and that's why we teach over and over again 05:45 that Jesus is coming. 05:48 And He's going to set up a new world. 05:50 And He's going to get rid of cancer. 05:52 He's going to get rid of heart disease. 05:53 He's going to get rid of death. 05:57 I want you to notice now with me, 05:58 please, the character of Satan. 06:01 Number one, Satan forces or coerces. 06:07 The word coerce is no longer used much today. 06:11 Satan does not believe in freedom of conscience. 06:15 But God never forces us to obey Him. 06:18 We have freedom to choose. 06:20 And that is why a theocracy is of the devil 06:25 because it's based on force, 06:27 "You'll worship as I tell you to." 06:30 God doesn't do that. 06:32 That's the devil's religion. 06:34 So Satan's character, force. 06:37 Number two, he is that liar of liars. 06:43 And if you read the text, 06:45 John 8:44, Jesus said, 06:49 "You are of your father the devil 06:54 and the desires of your father you will do. 06:59 He was a murderer from the beginning 07:01 and does not stand in the truth 07:04 because there is no truth in him. 07:07 When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own resources, 07:11 for he is a liar and the father of it." 07:16 So he is the original and the greatest liar. 07:23 And when a person tells lies, 07:26 whoever he might be, 07:28 a politician, or a priest, or a pastor, 07:32 he is of his father the devil 07:35 and on his way to hell. 07:38 Number three, 07:39 Satan speaks and lives hate. 07:45 When you hear hate speech, 07:48 name calling, 07:50 all the vitriol, all the... 07:54 The guy, all the dirtiness that flows forth 07:58 out of some people's mouths. 08:03 It is the devil who is speaking through them. 08:07 Number four, 08:09 Satan is the great pretender and he deceives. 08:14 2 Thessalonians 2:9, 10, and 11. 08:19 It says, "The coming of the lawless one 08:22 is according to the working of Satan, 08:25 with all power, signs, and lying wonders," 08:29 and most people are so gullible, 08:32 "and with all unrighteous deception 08:35 among those who perish 08:37 because they did not receive the love of the truth, 08:41 that they might be saved. 08:42 And for this reason God will send them," 08:45 what does they say? 08:46 "Strong delusion, 08:48 that they should believe the lie." 08:52 I shouldn't be amazed but I still am. 08:54 I'm amazed when I see so many people 08:58 who are sucked into the vortex 09:03 of destruction and deception. 09:07 They will choose to believe lies. 09:11 A man said to me recently, he said, 09:14 "You have truth, I have my truth. 09:17 And my truth is as good as your truth." 09:20 I said, "And what is your truth, 09:22 my friend?" 09:23 He said, "What I choose it to be." 09:27 What I want it to be, that is my truth. 09:31 He was speaking of his father the devil 09:35 because God is a God of righteousness. 09:38 But Lucifer is the great pretender 09:42 and the great deceiver. 09:44 Look at me, my American friends, 09:47 my Australian friends, 09:50 you and I need to walk so close to God 09:54 that we will not be taken in by the deceptions 09:58 of the devil or his agents. 10:04 That's why I tell people, "Read your Bible 10:06 and read your Bible every day. 10:09 Therefore, he's the great deceiver." 10:12 And here we come to the next one, 10:14 he perverts the good. 10:16 Remember, the fruit in the garden, 10:19 it was so luscious, so beautiful. 10:23 But it became a thing of death. 10:25 Number six, he hates the truth. 10:29 Number six, he hates the truth. 10:33 We live in an age of post truth. 10:36 Look at this text John 8:44. 10:41 Jesus said, "There is no truth in him. 10:46 When he speaks a lie, 10:48 he speaks from his own resources, 10:50 for he is a liar and the father of it." 10:53 Listen to me. Look at me. 10:57 I think that the worst of all sins 11:02 is the sin of lying 11:04 that becomes a sin of self-deception 11:09 because a person can lie and lie and lie so much 11:16 that he comes to the place 11:17 when he thinks the lie is the truth. 11:23 That is the unpardonable sin. 11:26 Jesus said, "God will forgive every sin 11:29 except the sin that is committed 11:31 against the Holy Spirit." 11:35 But how can you confess your sins to God 11:37 if you don't believe you've got any sins? 11:42 So he is the liar of lies 11:46 and he hates the truth. 11:48 He loves power, wealth, and authority. 11:54 Look at Isaiah 14:12-14. 11:58 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, 12:01 son of the morning! 12:02 How you are cut down to the ground, 12:03 you who weakened the nations! 12:05 For you said in your heart, 'I will ascend into heaven, 12:09 I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, 12:12 I will also sit on the mount of the congregation 12:16 on the farthest sides of the north, 12:18 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, 12:20 I will be like the Most High.'" 12:23 I trouble. 12:27 This insatiable desire, 12:30 the power, wealth, and authority 12:34 doesn't come from God. 12:36 It comes from the devil. 12:38 Jesus said, "He was a murderer." 12:41 John 8:44. 12:44 He says, "He was a murderer from the beginning." 12:48 Every great leader in history, 12:52 even though he's been forced on occasions to go to war, 12:56 hates war. 13:00 And he who loves war 13:03 and the shedding of blood 13:06 is the servant of the devil. 13:09 He is proud. 13:12 Ezekiel 28:17 says, 13:15 "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty." 13:21 He uses arrogance. 13:24 The tenth point which describes his character says, 13:27 "He is the destroyer." 13:29 And the text is Revelation 9:11, 13:32 which is an amazing text. 13:35 "And they had as king over them the angel 13:38 of the bottomless pit," that's Lucifer, 13:41 "whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, 13:46 but in Greek, he has the name Apollyon." 13:49 It means a destroyer. 13:53 So look at me. 13:56 He destroys marriages, 14:01 and homes, and churches, 14:06 and people, and children, 14:09 and nations. 14:12 Apollyon. 14:15 God is the Creator. 14:18 He is the destroyer. 14:21 And one could say 14:22 he's doing a pretty good job today 14:26 even in America. 14:30 He is the very opposite of God in character. 14:34 The Bible tells me that God is the God 14:36 who made the universe. 14:37 He's a God of love. 14:40 He's a God of mercy. 14:42 He's a God of truth, never tells a lie. 14:46 He's full of grace. 14:47 He's the God of restoration. 14:49 He's the God of fullness, of joy. 14:53 Now listen to me. 14:57 Has it ever come into your pure mind 15:00 the question, 15:02 what is going wrong in America? 15:04 What is going wrong in Australia? 15:06 What is going wrong in Great Britain? 15:08 What is going wrong everywhere we look? 15:14 I'm going to tell you today 15:15 that there's a passage in the Book of Revelation 15:17 that most of us did not understand 15:19 very well. 15:21 I didn't understand this number of years ago, 15:24 but I studied it and studied it. 15:26 And with the help of some good friends, 15:28 I was able to work it out. 15:30 I now understand it. 15:31 There is a picture in the Book of Revelation 15:34 that says, "In the last days, 15:36 the earth is going to become infested with evil spirits." 15:42 Lord, have mercy. 15:44 We're gonna cry out, "Lord Jesus, I need you. 15:47 Lord Jesus, come and help me. 15:49 Lord Jesus, I'm going to read my Bible. 15:51 Lord Jesus, I'm gonna go to church." 15:55 Let me read you the text. Revelation 9:1-3. 15:59 And this is the passage that, for many years, 16:02 I did not understand. 16:04 "Then the fifth angel sounded, 16:05 'And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth.'" 16:11 This is the evil one. 16:12 "To him was given the key of the bottomless pit," 16:16 the abyssos. 16:17 "And he opened the bottomless pit," 16:19 the abyssos, 16:20 "and there arose smoke out of the pit 16:22 like the smoke of a great furnace. 16:24 So the sun and the air were darkened 16:27 because of the smoke of the pit. 16:29 Then out of the smoke locusts arose upon the earth. 16:33 And to them was given power, 16:35 as the scorpions of the earth have power." 16:38 Jesus in one occasion said he gave to his disciples 16:42 the ability and the power to walk on the scorpions. 16:47 These are evil spirits. 16:50 The Bible says 16:53 before Jesus comes, 16:56 this is figurative language, the great bottomless pit, 16:59 the abyssos where Satan reigns, 17:02 is going to be opened 17:04 and up out of this bottomless pit 17:07 like the smoke of a furnace come the creatures, 17:11 like the scorpions and the locusts, 17:13 which is symbolic of evil spirits 17:15 that take over the world. 17:18 The world is going to become demon infested. 17:23 That is why you and I ought to become serious Christians 17:28 and stop messing around with our lives. 17:32 And why we got to start reading the Bible? 17:35 I have been preaching to people read your Bible. 17:37 Do you read your Bible? "No. 17:40 Too hard to read." 17:42 I've had folks say to me in Australia, 17:43 "Oh, we just want now funny stories. 17:47 And what's on at the next pot luck? 17:50 Is it going to be lots more sugar," 17:52 so it will make us even more brain dead? 17:57 Come on what's wrong with us? 17:59 Are we crazy? 18:00 Part of my saying this, "Are we stupid?" 18:05 We need to realize the times in which we live 18:10 and break out all the lethargy 18:15 that seems to be swallowing up the church. 18:20 Look at verses 7, 8, and 10 of Revelation. 18:24 7, 8, and 10. 18:25 "The shape of the locusts was like horses 18:29 prepared for battle." 18:30 This is the battle. 18:32 "On their heads were crowns of something like gold 18:35 and their faces were like the faces of men." 18:38 Intelligent. 18:40 "They had hair like women's hair," 18:41 seductive, seductive, 18:44 "and their teeth were like lions' teeth. 18:47 They had tails like scorpions, 18:50 and there were stings in their tails. 18:52 Their power was to hurt men for five months." 18:55 Now human faces, 18:59 beautiful gorgeous hair, 19:01 and their power... 19:03 It says in another text, the power, it says, 19:05 was in their mouths. 19:07 So they preach false doctrine. 19:10 They preach soothing sermons to put people to sleep. 19:17 And then the stingers in the tail. 19:24 Now I've got a message for you today 19:26 'cause we got to study these seven trumpets. 19:30 These demons are even now, as we speak, 19:34 ascending out of the bottomless pit. 19:37 They are coming. 19:39 They are being led by Abaddon Napoleon. 19:44 Satan and Lucifer. 19:48 What should we do? 19:51 Believe in Jesus and read His word 19:53 and stop just being emotional weaklings. 19:56 Some people say, "Oh, I just feel... 19:57 Like I'm so..." 19:59 Let's get over how I feel. 20:00 Let us be people who stand on the Word of God. 20:05 A dear friend of mine in Australia 20:07 who's coming with us to Manila is Dr. John Hammond. 20:12 Great guy. 20:14 He's been in heathen countries 20:16 where the spirits would appear is I don't believe it. 20:19 Of course you don't. 20:22 Of course you don't, but one day you will. 20:26 We went into the home of a lady 20:29 who started coming to my meetings. 20:32 We went there because she asked us to come. 20:39 I went into the house. 20:40 My hair stood up in the back of my neck. 20:44 I knew I was in the presence of evil. 20:47 The curtain rods would come out and float around 20:50 and chase the family members around the room. 20:52 No, no, of course, not 20:55 because you haven't seen it. 20:57 It's happening. 21:01 When she'd get into bed at night, 21:06 a being would get into bed with her 21:08 and it wasn't her husband 'cause he's left her. 21:12 We got her down on her knees. 21:13 We prayed off through the night. 21:15 John Hammond continued the story. 21:17 We felt the tremendous, overwhelming forces of evil. 21:22 We cried out in the name of Jesus. 21:26 Jesus is Lord. 21:28 Read the Word. 21:31 My son David goes to India quite regularly 21:35 because we have a ministry there. 21:37 When we go to India, 21:39 we are graphing the demons. 21:45 Pastor Hammond and I went into this big temple. 21:49 Soon as we went in, 21:51 hair on the back of my neck went up. 21:55 The priest was there. 21:57 He was calling for the demons to come. 21:59 He said, "Come in." 22:01 We said, "No, no, we're not gonna come in, 22:02 gonna stand out here and cry out 22:04 in the name of the Lord." 22:06 But we wanna see what's happening here. 22:07 He was crying out and bringing the demons. 22:10 In this part of the world, 22:12 they have millions and millions of demons 22:18 and they worship them. 22:19 I have felt them. 22:21 I have felt the power. 22:23 I've seen it. 22:24 When I ran the meetings in the Dallas Brooks 22:26 in Melbourne, 22:28 the leaders of this cult, 22:31 the spirit came to the meetings 22:34 to get me to change sides. 22:37 It's true. 22:39 But I preached that night with the power of God upon me, 22:42 God came upon me. 22:44 The Spirit of God came upon me. 22:46 These people came down the front, 22:48 gave their lives to Christ, 22:50 and we baptized every one of them. 22:52 So Jesus, Jesus, Jesus is Lord over the demons. 22:58 But with most people, 23:00 the devil doesn't care 'cause he's got them already. 23:04 You know the story of Napoleon?
