00:05 In a world surrounded by darkness,
00:08 there is a voice
00:10 that whispers to every young heart,
00:13 urging them to find the treasure of truth.
00:22 Those who follow the path will discover eternal riches
00:26 beyond their wildest dreams.
00:28 Join us now for an "Amazing Adventure,
00:31 A Journey for life with Jesus."
00:36 Good evening friends.
00:37 Welcome again to Amazing Adventure.
00:40 We are glad that you've joined us
00:41 wherever you are, you might be in a home,
00:43 may be in a church location, may be a school.
00:46 We are so glad that you're part of the program.
00:48 We would like to remind you
00:49 that tonight this is number 6 of a 10-part series.
00:53 So we've just passed the half-way mark.
00:56 There are still many more important truths
00:58 that we gonna discover on this adventure together.
01:02 We've been speaking from evening to evening
01:04 about these great lessons,
01:06 brand new lessons designed for this program.
01:08 You can order your lessons
01:10 from the Amazing Facts Kids website.
01:12 Tonight, we are going to be looking at a day with the King.
01:16 Well, children, let's stand as we sing
01:18 our theme song once more, "Life is an Adventure."
01:22 I'm gonna invite the Amazing Adventure' singers
01:24 to come forward and lead us.
01:34 Life is an Adventure Following the King
01:39 Every day with Jesus Makes us want to sing
01:44 Walking in the Spirit He will lead the way
01:49 With His Word to guide us Glowing deep inside us
01:54 Nothing can divide us Following the King
02:01 Life is an adventure Following the King
02:06 Every day with Jesus Makes us want to sing
02:11 Conquering with kindness Everywhere we go
02:16 Voices we are raising Jesus we are praising
02:21 Life is so amazing Following the King
02:26 Life is so amazing Following the King
02:35 Thank you very much.
02:36 Let's remain standing as we have our scripture reading.
02:39 Alexa is going to be reading to us
02:41 our scripture reading this evening is Where Alexa?
02:44 In Mathew 5:19, "Whoever therefore breaks
02:49 one of the least of these commandments,
02:52 and teaches men so,
02:53 shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven,
02:56 but whoever does and teaches them,
02:59 he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
03:03 The person doing our prayer
03:04 this evening is Pastor Paul Hunt.
03:06 He is the senior pastor here at the Richardson Church.
03:09 Pastor Paul, thank you so much
03:11 for opening your church up for us for this meeting.
03:14 Absolutely my pleasure.
03:15 We've kind of rearranged your platform
03:16 just a little bit here,
03:18 but we really appreciate all your help.
03:20 Well, let's bow our heads and close our eyes
03:21 as Pastor Paul leads us in prayer.
03:24 Dear heavenly Father, we are so grateful to you
03:27 for this wonderful privilege of being able to join hands
03:30 as it were across the world, to study the word of Jesus.
03:33 As Pastor Doug speaks, heavenly Father,
03:36 change these young lives to form into Your will.
03:39 This is our prayer in Jesus name, amen. Amen.
03:43 Thank you very much. You children can take your seat.
03:45 Pastor Paul, before you go,
03:47 we've got something for you here as our thank you.
03:50 Now these are very rare,
03:51 I think Bonnie, there's only five of them,
03:54 so this is a rare hat that means several people thanking.
03:56 We have an Amazing Adventure cap,
03:58 well, this is for you. Thank you so much.
04:00 Thank you so much. We appreciate it.
04:03 I'm going to invite Pastor Doug
04:04 to come forward for our questions.
04:06 We've had a lot of questions, those who have been
04:09 sending their questions at the Amazing Facts website,
04:12 thank you very much.
04:13 We also have some video questions,
04:15 so let's start with the video question tonight.
04:18 Hi, my name is Kalicia,
04:21 I'm 9-years-old and my question is.
04:24 Why is the devil trying so hard to get rid off us?
04:28 Good question.
04:29 Why is the devil trying so harder to hurt
04:32 and get rid of us.
04:33 After all what did we ever do to him?
04:36 You remember, the devil really hates God.
04:40 He hates Jesus.
04:41 He is consumed with pride and jealousy.
04:45 The devil wanted Jesus' position.
04:47 He wanted to be God.
04:49 And he knows how much God loves you.
04:52 See, the devil was there,
04:54 he saw how much Jesus gave on the cross
04:57 because the devil was there
04:58 inspiring the people to torture and crucify Jesus.
05:02 And he knows that God loves you,
05:03 he knows that Jesus loves you
05:05 and he tries to hurt Jesus by getting you to sin.
05:09 He tries to hurt Jesus by hurting you.
05:13 If you got a favorite puppy or toy
05:16 or something that you really care about,
05:18 and someone wants to hurt you
05:20 and they wreck something you've created
05:22 or something that you love,
05:23 it hurts you by hurting something that you love,
05:26 and that's why the devil does that to us
05:28 because he just hates God, so.
05:31 And but the Lord will protect us if we ask Him to. Amen.
05:35 Well Pastor Doug, we have a question that's come in.
05:37 It says, how we're supposed to know
05:40 which voice is speaking to our hearts,
05:43 the voice of Jesus or Satan. Very good.
05:46 Well, sometimes you'll get impressions.
05:49 You'll feel like you are getting an impression,
05:51 you're sensing something in your mind or heart,
05:53 you might want to know,
05:54 Lord, is that You talking to me or is that another power.
05:57 How can you know the difference?
05:59 Well, first of all,
06:00 the Holy Spirit will never ask you to do
06:03 something different from the holy Bible.
06:06 If the holy Bible is telling you,
06:08 you know not to break God's commandments
06:12 or what God's will is,
06:13 and you feel like you're getting an impression
06:15 to do something contrary to the Bible.
06:18 That's not the Holy Spirit.
06:19 The Holy Spirit will always work in cooperation with God's Word.
06:24 And so sometimes you need to just look
06:26 for providence of God's leading,
06:28 you'll have a peace that you're doing
06:30 what God says in His word.
06:31 And that's all from the Holy Spirit
06:33 talking to you inside.
06:34 We generally know the difference.
06:37 All right, we have another video question at this time.
06:40 Hi, my name is Johnny, I'm 6-years-old.
06:43 My question is.
06:45 Why Jesus loves us more than our parents?
06:50 Well, that's a good question.
06:51 Johnny is wanting to know,
06:53 does Jesus loves children more than our parents?
06:56 Well, the Lord loves everybody.
06:58 But let me ask you a question.
07:00 Would you rather have a dog or a puppy? Puppy!
07:04 How many would rather have a puppy,
07:05 let me see your hands.
07:07 Well, isn't a puppy a dog?
07:09 What's the difference between a puppy and a dog?
07:12 They're younger, they're cuter.
07:15 Would you rather have a cat or kitty? Kitty.
07:17 You know, the problem is,
07:20 we got a lot of children in the Batchelor's home
07:21 and they always want puppies and kitties,
07:23 but didn't they turn into dogs and cats?
07:26 And so you know the Lord really loves
07:28 and He protects the young.
07:29 And the Lord is the one
07:31 who made us feel this attraction for people
07:33 when they're young and even animals
07:35 when they're little, they're so cute.
07:37 And so the Lord loves everybody,
07:38 but He especially protects the children
07:40 because they are more innocent
07:42 and they're little more defenseless.
07:44 We have another question that somebody wrote in.
07:46 Is it true that the Bible says
07:48 that man can only live to a 120 years?
07:52 No, you're probably getting that from Genesis 6,
07:56 where God said to Noah that there would be
07:58 a 120 years before the flood.
08:00 God said My Spirit will not always strive with man,
08:04 his days will be 120 years,
08:07 but the average life now for people,
08:10 the Bible says is, three score and ten.
08:12 Who knows what a score is?
08:14 Score is an old English word for 20.
08:17 So three score is how much?
08:19 60 and 10.
08:22 Seventy is an average.
08:23 Matter of fact, many parts of the world,
08:24 70 is the average lifespan, and now with modern medicine
08:27 and good health practices you can live to 100.
08:30 But that was that just given in the Bible as an average.
08:32 Before the flood, I'm not going to tell you,
08:34 we were talking about that another night.
08:35 All right, very good.
08:36 We have one more video question I think this evening.
08:40 Hi, my name is Mikey McMierre.
08:42 I'm 9-years-old. And my question is.
08:45 Did Jesus baptized anybody? Good question.
08:49 We've a lesson coming on the subject of baptism,
08:52 and he's asking, did Jesus baptized anybody?
08:55 Well, we know, John the Baptist baptized people,
08:58 and probably John's disciples,
09:00 but you can read in the Bible, in the Gospel of John 4:1, 2
09:05 that Jesus baptized many but not personally,
09:08 His disciples did the baptizing.
09:11 And so Jesus may have baptized some of them,
09:13 may be He even baptized
09:15 some of His apostles that followed Him,
09:17 but there is no record in the Bible,
09:18 so we are not sure.
09:19 But we know that Jesus' apostles
09:21 did a lot of baptizing when He was teaching.
09:24 Well, thank you very much, Pastor Doug,
09:25 that's it for our Bible questions this evening.
09:27 Again if you have the Bible question,
09:29 you can go to the Amazing Facts Kids website
09:31 and type in your Bible question
09:33 and we'll try and get it on the air.
09:35 Our Amazing Adventure singers are bringing us
09:37 our special song this evening,
09:39 and I've enjoyed the music from evening to evening.
09:42 And that song is entitled ''Always the same.''
09:56 I am His, He is mine
10:00 Jesus knows my name
10:04 I can rest in His arms
10:07 He's always the same
10:12 When I fall, when I call
10:16 Jesus takes my hand
10:20 Cleansing me, lifting me
10:24 He helps me to stand
10:28 Always the same
10:32 O praise His name
10:36 Jesus never changes
10:40 He's always the same
10:44 Always together His love is forever
10:52 Jesus never changes
10:56 He's always the same
11:02 In His love, I'm secure
11:06 We shall never part
11:10 In His Word I will trust
11:14 And give Him all my heart
11:18 In the dark of the night
11:23 When my heart would fear
11:27 Lovingly, tenderly
11:30 My Savior is near
11:35 Always the same
11:39 O praise His name
11:43 Jesus never changes
11:47 He's always the same
11:51 Always together
11:55 His love is forever
11:59 Jesus never changes
12:03 He's always the same
12:07 Join us.
12:09 Always the same
12:13 O praise His name
12:17 Jesus never changes
12:21 He's always the same
12:25 Always together
12:28 His love is forever
12:33 Jesus never changes
12:36 He's always the same
12:41 Jesus never changes
12:45 He's always the same
12:53 Amen. Good job.
12:57 That's a beautiful song, isn't it?
13:00 We're learning some new songs during this series.
13:03 Want to welcome everybody here at the Richardson Church.
13:06 We are so thankful for your faithfulness in coming
13:08 and joining us on this Amazing Adventure.
13:11 Also our friends, who are watching,
13:13 all these locations around the world.
13:15 Now I hear there is over 2,700, is that right, Pastor Ross?
13:19 Wow, praise the Lord. Some are joining along the way.
13:22 Some schools started on Monday,
13:25 because they've recorded the program
13:26 and they're doing it each day in their school
13:28 and it will take them of course two weeks to do it.
13:30 And we are hoping that you continue to use these programs,
13:34 they're great for VBS, for pathfinders,
13:37 for Sabbath schools, for church schools,
13:41 all kinds of programs.
13:43 We are all on this adventure together to get to heaven.
13:46 Now have you been doing your lessons?
13:48 I hope you are getting your lessons
13:49 as you leave the program,
13:51 the lessons help, give additional material,
13:53 it's a great amazing facts in the lessons and stories.
13:57 Tonight's lesson is dealing with the subject,
14:00 "A day with the king." A day with the king.
14:04 You know, I'm always interested in the Bible stories
14:07 and I especially marvel at the story
14:10 in the Bible about Solomon.
14:12 When Solomon was king,
14:14 Israel was at its zenith of glory.
14:17 You know, the Bible says, there was so much gold
14:19 and silver in the kingdom,
14:21 that silver wasn't even counted
14:23 as being worth anything, was like stones.
14:26 Because everyone was so wealthy, there was so much prosperity.
14:29 Solomon was a greatest and richest and the wisest king
14:32 that ever reigned in Israel.
14:35 And the word about his wisdom spread everywhere
14:40 and people came from all different
14:41 parts of the world.
14:42 One special queen came all the way to Jerusalem,
14:46 probably traveled hundreds of miles
14:48 with the caravan filled with gold
14:51 and she gave all these gifts to Solomon,
14:52 just to spend time and listen to his wisdom,
14:56 to spend that kind of time with the king.
14:58 Wouldn't you've liked to seen Israel
15:00 during the time of Solomon?
15:03 You know our family one time went to Washington D.C.
15:06 And we got the permission to visit the White House.
15:09 And that was kind of exciting, going through the White House.
15:12 Matter of fact, one of the security guards there,
15:14 the secret service people with their ear piece
15:16 you know, he went like this.
15:19 And I thought that may be one of our kids were misbehaving
15:21 or touching the valuable painting,
15:23 and I came over and I thought,
15:24 no, I'm in trouble now, what did we do.
15:26 He said, we enjoy your programs.
15:29 And I thought, oh that's exciting.
15:31 People in the White House are watching.
15:33 But you know it was fun seeing the White House
15:35 but we didn't get to see the president.
15:38 If I had a chance to either
15:39 see the White House or talk to the president,
15:42 I'd rather spent time with the president.
15:45 You know, I heard a few years ago,
15:47 in 2006 Queen Elizabeth, for her 80th birthday,
15:50 she opened up Buckingham palace and she invited children
15:54 from all over British empire to come
15:57 and help celebrate her birthday with her.
16:00 How would you like to have a day with the king
16:03 or queen or president?
16:05 All special personal attention,
16:07 be able to come and sit at their table
16:09 and eat with them and talk with them,
16:11 wouldn't that be exciting.
16:13 Well, you know, you do. You do have a chance.
16:16 The Bible says, that God,
16:18 not the King of England or the Queen of England
16:23 or the president of the United States,
16:24 but the God, the King of the whole universe,
16:27 the whole cosmos.
16:29 He loves you so much,
16:30 He wants to have a special appointment
16:31 with you every week.
16:34 You know what's that called? The Sabbath.
16:37 It's one of the Ten Commandments
16:39 a lot of people have forgotten about,
16:41 that is very important to the Lord.
16:43 Now let me tell you why?
16:45 You live in something called time.
16:50 We live in time.
16:51 How many of you have a watch on.
16:53 Some of you got a watch on.
16:56 Your watch doesn't change time,
16:59 it tells you how much time there is.
17:01 You remember the illustration with the candles last night.
17:05 Trying to illustrate that we only get
17:06 so much time in our lives.
17:09 When two people fall in love,
17:10 it's because they spent time together.
17:13 And it's so important for us to have time with God,
17:17 so our love for God will grow.
17:19 The devil does not want us to have
17:21 our special time with God, and so he has got
17:24 one of the Ten Commandments under attack.
17:26 And it's the fourth commandment,
17:28 it's called the Sabbath day.
17:30 Well, let's get to question number 1.
17:31 We' will talk about more of this as we get into the lesson.
17:35 What day does Jesus, the King of the Universe,
17:38 want me to spend with Him?
17:41 Answer is in Exodus, this is the Ten Commandments,
17:44 Chapter 20: 8, 11.
17:48 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
17:51 The Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it."
17:54 That means He made this day, holy.
17:57 Now is Sabbath supposed to be an exciting day,
17:59 a happy day or a sad day? Happy day.
18:01 If you got to spend the day with the king,
18:03 isn't that exciting? Yes.
18:06 The Bible says, in Isaiah 58
18:08 "We should call the Sabbath a delight."
18:10 When some thing is delightful as that, exciting.
18:14 You know what else the Sabbath is for?
18:16 Do people need rest?
18:18 Not only do you need rest every night,
18:20 your parents have to sometimes tell you to go to bed
18:22 when you don't want to go to bed,
18:23 if you want to stay up.
18:24 Why did they tell you to go to bed?
18:27 Because they love you
18:28 and they know you need rest and if you don't get rest,
18:30 sometimes you don't do well at school the next day.
18:33 May be you are crabby
18:34 or you get tired from doing your chores,
18:38 and you need rest.
18:39 Well, not only does your body need physical rest,
18:43 your soul, your spirit, your mind needs spiritual rest.
18:49 And God has outlined in His word a time every week.
18:53 When we put aside mowing the lawn,
18:56 we put aside our homework,
18:59 you don't have to go to the mall and watch mama shop.
19:03 It's a time to rest.
19:05 And spent time with the Lord and with your family
19:08 and a time to recharge your batteries, spiritually.
19:12 Number 2. Which day is the Sabbath?
19:16 And does it matter?
19:18 The Bible says, Exodus 20, I heard many of you
19:20 knew the answer to that, say it with me,
19:22 "The Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God."
19:28 Now how many days in a month?
19:32 30. About 30.
19:34 Do you know why?
19:37 Because much of the world, all these civilizations,
19:40 they had a month with about 27 to 30 days
19:43 because that's how long it takes for the moon
19:46 to go through a complete cycle
19:47 from full moon back to full moon.
19:50 That's where you get the word month from moon.
19:54 How many days in a year?
19:58 Some of you got that one wrong.
20:00 365 you know why?
20:02 Because it takes 365 days,
20:05 matter of fact I got a world back here.
20:08 It takes 365 days for the earth
20:11 to go completely around the sun.
20:14 I may use this again later, we'll see what happens.
20:20 How many days in a week?
20:22 Seven. Why?
20:27 Anything in the sun, moon or stars
20:29 that give us the seven day week?
20:31 Everywhere in the world,
20:34 the countries have a seven day week, why?
20:37 There's one place you can trace, a seven day week too.
20:41 It's not in the stars it's in the word,
20:44 even in countries like China,
20:46 where they don't believe in the Bible,
20:48 in some of the communist countries
20:50 and countries of other religions,
20:52 they still have a seven day week.
20:54 It's because in the Bible,
20:56 God created the world in seven days
20:58 and all the nations of the world adopted that.
21:01 And God set aside one day as a special day of rest
21:04 and it's the seventh day. Let's read about this.
21:06 In Mark 16:1 and 2 we're going to find out
21:08 what day is the seventh day.
21:11 "Now when the Sabbath was past..."
21:14 he's talking about after Jesus died
21:16 and He was raising from the dead. "
21:20 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week,"
21:24 the Bible tells us "they came to the tomb
21:26 when the sun had risen."
21:28 Now who knows what day of the week
21:30 did Jesus rise from the dead? Sunday.
21:33 Sunday, that's right,
21:34 that's the first day of the week.
21:36 If you look in any dictionary
21:37 it will say Sunday, the first day of the week.
21:39 If you look on a normal calendar,
21:41 it will show first day of the week, Sunday.
21:43 Jesus rose Sunday morning
21:45 and what we would call the morning
21:47 of the first day of the week.
21:48 What day then is the seventh day?
21:52 Saturday.
21:53 Matter of fact, if you don't believe Pastor Doug,
21:54 you can look in the encyclopedia,
21:56 you can look in the dictionary,
21:58 it will say seventh day,
21:59 Saturday, seventh day of the week.
22:02 Now God says, that He's blessed the seventh day
22:05 and He wants us to remember the seventh day
22:07 but lot of people are forgetting about that,
22:10 and that's a very important truth
22:11 the Lord wants us to learn,
22:13 because the more time we spend with God,
22:16 the more we know Him,
22:17 the more we know Him, the more we love Him.
22:20 The more we love Him, the better we serve Him.
22:22 The devil does not want you to know the truth about this
22:24 because he doesn't want you to have
22:26 the power of love for the Lord.
22:29 You know something interesting, In 105 languages of the world,
22:34 the way you say the seventh day of the week
22:37 is the word for Sabbath day.
22:40 Matter of fact, I speak in Russian it's Subbota.
22:43 Who here speaks Spanish?
22:44 We get some of you speak Spanish.
22:46 How do you say Saturday in Spanish?
22:49 Sabado, oh, a lot of you knew that, Sabado right.
22:52 And it's not only that way in Spanish,
22:55 in English, rather in Russian
22:57 and many different languages, about 105 languages,
23:01 their word for Saturday
23:03 is the equivalent of Sabbath day.
23:05 Matter of fact in Persian, their word for seventh day
23:08 is the pleasantest day of the week.
23:11 And so, this goes all the way back to the Tower of Babel.
23:14 When everybody kept the same day,
23:17 but something happened. Question number 3.
23:20 Where did the Sabbath came from
23:23 and how long has it been a special day for our king?
23:25 We're going to go to the Bible for our answer.
23:28 All the way back, you get your Bibles.
23:30 All the way back in the very beginning of the Bible,
23:32 who knows what the first book of the Bible is?
23:34 Genesis.
23:35 Genesis in chapter 1 of the Bible,
23:38 you could read of course verse 1,
23:41 "In the beginning" you could read it off the screen
23:43 if you don't have the Bible with you,
23:44 those who are watching.
23:46 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
23:51 Now you go to Chapter 2, and it says in verse 2,
23:56 "And on the seventh day God ended His work
24:00 which He had done"
24:03 And so right at the very beginning
24:05 God established the Sabbath.
24:07 That was part of God's perfect plan.
24:09 Now did Adam and Eve when God made the Sabbath.
24:13 Was there any sin in the world? No.
24:15 That was part of God's perfect plan long before sin
24:20 and God never changed it,
24:21 it's still part of His perfect plan.
24:23 And it says "That God rested on the seventh day
24:27 from all His work which He had done."
24:30 Did God rest because He was tired? No.
24:32 Does God ever get tired? No.
24:34 We'd be in trouble if God got tired
24:37 and didn't take care of us.
24:38 God rested as an example for you and me.
24:41 He spent special time with Adam and Eve on that time.
24:44 Then the Lord did something else,
24:46 "Then God blessed the seventh day
24:48 and He sanctified it,
24:50 because in it He rested from all His work
24:52 which God created and made."
24:54 Now I want you to notice something.
24:56 Three times in the beginning of the Bible,
24:58 it says, the seventh day,
25:00 the seventh day, the seventh day.
25:03 When God does something three times like that,
25:05 that's a symbol.
25:06 The number 3 is a symbol for God like that.
25:09 Because you got God the father,
25:10 God the Son, God the Spirit, the angels say holy, holy, holy.
25:14 God says, the seventh day, the seventh day,
25:16 the seventh day in the beginning of the Bible,
25:18 and in the end of the Bible, there's a number for the beast.
25:20 Who knows what that number is for the beast?
25:23 666, that's right.
25:26 Front of the Bible, the God says the seventh day,
25:28 the seventh day, the seventh day
25:29 and at the end of the Bible it's going 666,
25:30 that's a number for man.
25:32 The number for God is a special number of 7.
25:36 And so this is a very important thing for us to learn.
25:39 Number 4.
25:41 Does God want everyone to worship Him
25:43 on the Sabbath day?
25:44 Now what do the Ten Commandments say?
25:47 First of all Jesus says in Mark 2:27.
25:52 I hope you can all read this, "The Sabbath was made for Jews."
25:57 Is that what it says?
25:59 Isn't that how you spell Jews, M-A-N.
26:04 No, you remember Jesus was a Jew
26:06 and He preached to Jewish people.
26:08 And some folks have said, well, since Moses was a Jew
26:10 and he wrote the Ten Commandments,
26:12 Sabbath is just for Jews.
26:14 Did Jesus say it was for Jews or for man,
26:16 many mankind, many humans.
26:19 How many humans here?
26:22 Did anyone not raise their hand?
26:24 Any aliens here? No, I know you'd do that.
26:29 All right let's go back,
26:30 let's read what the Ten Commandments say?
26:33 Exodus 20:8. Now this will be reverent.
26:37 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."
26:40 You know why God said remember,
26:43 because He knew that people would forget.
26:46 Do you know that God didn't say,
26:48 remember the Sabbath day and make it holy.
26:51 It already is holy. He said, we keep it holy."
26:56 We can't make it a holy,
26:57 God says it is holy and I want to keep it the way I made it.
27:00 "Six days you shall labor and do all of your work,
27:03 but the seventh day
27:05 is the Sabbath of the Jewish people"
27:07 is that what it says? No.
27:09 oh, no it says, "The Sabbath of the Lord, your God.
27:14 In it you shall not do any work,
27:16 you, or your son" He wants the children to rest.
27:20 'Or your daughter, nor your male or female servants,
27:24 nor your cattle nor the stranger"
27:26 he even wants the animals.
27:27 Back then they used to ride the horses to pull the plough,
27:30 and the donkeys and the oxen and the goats,
27:32 and they all got to rest.
27:36 So if the Lord even wants the animals to rest,
27:38 do you think Sabbath is just for Jews
27:40 or is it for all the world. All the world.
27:44 "Nor the cattle, nor the stranger
27:46 who is within your gates, for here's why."
27:49 For in six days the Lord made the heavens
27:52 and the earth and the sea,
27:53 and all that is in them, and he rested the seventh day.
27:58 Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day
28:01 and hallowed it."
28:02 God did something very special to this day,
28:05 He didn't do to any other day.
28:06 Now I'm so thankful,
28:07 that the Batchelor family is able to join me,
28:10 I like to invite, Steven
28:12 if you could grab that table for me.
28:14 Steven Batchelor is here
28:15 and if Mrs. Batchelor could come up front,
28:17 maybe she's going to help me with an illustration.
28:20 And I like to demonstrate something for you here
28:23 that will help you understand
28:25 that there is a difference in days.
28:29 And I'll let you- this is Mrs. Batchelor.
28:31 Can you all say, hi, Mrs. Batchelor?"
28:32 Hi, Mrs. Batchelor. Okay.
28:34 This is Steven Bathcelor.
28:36 You say hi, Steven. Hi, Steven.
28:39 I wanted him to help
28:40 even though he is a little lower than the average age
28:43 for the Amazing Adventure Kids, okay.
28:46 So here we've got seven cups.
28:49 And I'm going to ask Mrs. Batchelor
28:50 to help me with this illustration
28:52 because I'm afraid
28:53 that I would spill something here.
28:55 Let me see, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
28:57 1, 2, 3, 4,5,6,7
28:59 just want to double check, okay.
29:01 Now, each one of these represents the day of the week.
29:04 And on the first day,
29:05 let's put a little water in the first day,
29:06 who knows what God made the first day?
29:09 What did He made? Light.
29:13 First day, God made light.
29:15 All right on the second day,
29:17 God, He separated the atmosphere,
29:24 the clouds and the land and He created the atmosphere.
29:27 The third day God created the land
29:30 and He made the vegetation.
29:32 On the fourth day, God made the sun,
29:35 the moon and the stars.
29:38 On the firth day, God made the creatures in the sea
29:41 and the creatures in the air,
29:42 meaning the fish and the birds.
29:45 On the sixth day, God made the animals,
29:49 the land animals and He also made man
29:52 and as a crowning act of His creation
29:54 God made woman, right.
29:57 Okay, but God wasn't done.
29:59 How many days in the week? Seven.
30:01 What did God make on the seventh day?
30:05 He didn't make anything you can touch,
30:08 He didn't make anything you can see.
30:11 Oh, but He did.
30:14 God did something special to the seventh day.
30:17 It says that He made it,
30:18 that must have been magic water.
30:21 The Bible says, God rested on that day,
30:25 God blessed that day, and God sanctified that day.
30:29 That day is different than every other day, isn't it?
30:33 Can you see the difference? Yes.
30:35 And He's got something very sweet for you,
30:37 in that day that He doesn't want you to miss.
30:40 But the devil wants you to forget about it,
30:41 now I haven't thought about it,
30:42 how we're going to get rid of all these.
30:44 You can pour that all back in there dear.
30:47 Except this one.
30:50 And I'm going to go on with my lesson here.
30:52 All right, now is the Sabbath just for Jews?
30:55 Listen to what it says in Isaiah 56: 6, 7
31:00 "Also the sons of the foreigner."
31:03 These are people who aren't even part of the Jewish nation.
31:06 That means children from all over the world too,"
31:09 Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
31:11 and to love the name of the Lord,
31:14 it says to be His servants,
31:16 everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
31:19 And holds fast My covenant."
31:22 This is for people everywhere."
31:23 Even them I will bring to my holy mountain, and make."
31:27 Can you read that word "Make them joyful
31:31 in My house of prayer."
31:33 He says the sons of the strangers, foreigners,
31:35 people from all over the world.
31:37 The Sabbath was for everybody and it still is.
31:41 Now some people thought, well didn't Moses,
31:44 didn't he write the Ten Commandments,
31:45 and didn't he give it to the Jewish nation.
31:47 Didn't the Sabbath begin with Moses?
31:50 No, Sabbath goes back to Adam and Eve.
31:53 And I can prove that the Sabbath day
31:54 actually began long before,
31:57 they got to Mount Sinai and God wrote it with His finger
32:00 and spoke with His voice.
32:02 You remember when Moses brought the children of Israel
32:05 across the Red Sea
32:07 and they went into the wilderness
32:09 and they had no food.
32:10 And the people got hungry, so what did God do?
32:14 Manna came down from heaven.
32:16 Matter of fact, six days a week,
32:18 manna came down from heaven,
32:19 they gather it, and they eat it.
32:22 And I suppose those children had fun going out
32:24 and just picking their breakfast up
32:26 off the ground in the little bushes out there,
32:29 these little round things that tastes like honey wafers
32:32 and then they would eat them.
32:34 But on the seventh day, there wasn't any.
32:39 They get twice as much on Friday.
32:41 Well, some of them went out
32:42 looking for on the seventh day and they didn't find it.
32:44 Let me read this to you, Exodus 16:25,"
32:47 Then Moses said, Eat that today,
32:50 for today is a Sabbath to the Lord,
32:53 today you will not find it in the fields."
32:56 They would gather twice as much of the manna on Friday
32:59 and they were would not be any of it on the Sabbath day.
33:02 Now notice something.
33:04 In Exodus 16, that's when you find the story about the manna
33:08 and God is talking about the Sabbath,
33:11 as though they know what it is.
33:12 He has not given them the Ten Commandments yet,
33:14 the Ten Commandments don't come until Exodus 20.
33:18 And so I think it's very clear from the Bible that
33:22 the Sabbath goes all the way back.
33:24 All right, question number 5.
33:26 Why do so many people worship God on Sunday now?
33:30 Have the Ten Commandments been changed?
33:34 Does the Lord change?
33:35 Didn't the Bible say, I'm the Lord, I change not.
33:39 Jesus Christ is saying yesterday, today,
33:41 and forever in the Book of Hebrews.
33:44 But many people haven't heard the truth.
33:45 I remember I grew up, and you know what?
33:49 My mom is Jewish,
33:51 and I should have known about the seventh-day Sabbath
33:53 but when I first became a Christian,
33:55 I never heard of it.
33:56 And a lot of dear Christian people
33:58 don't know about it.
33:59 Some pastors do know
34:00 but they're pretending they don't see it.
34:02 It's a very plain truth.
34:04 Matter of fact, there's a church,
34:06 here that keeps the Sabbath day.
34:07 There's another denomination across the street
34:09 that keeps the Sabbath day.
34:11 More and more churches around the world
34:13 are learning the truth about the Sabbath.
34:15 Before Jesus comes back,
34:16 a lot of people are returning to the Bible truth.
34:19 It says in Ezekiel 22:26,
34:22 "Her priests have violated My law
34:25 and profaned My holy things."
34:28 Even some pastors and priests are hiding their eyes from it.
34:32 It says they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths."
34:36 God foretold in the Bible long time ago,
34:38 that this was going to happen.
34:40 You know why?
34:41 Sometimes it's easier to give a person some money
34:45 than to give them your time.
34:47 There are some dads,
34:48 it's easier to give their children
34:50 a birthday present than to give them a day.
34:53 And God says if you show me that you love Me,
34:55 give Me your time.
34:57 You know what life is made of? Life is made of time.
35:02 And every Sabbath when we give the Lord our time,
35:05 we are giving Him our life.
35:06 I believe He gives us more life and longer life
35:09 when we give Him our time.
35:10 You know why so many people die in the world today.
35:13 It's called stress.
35:15 And people get all tighten,
35:16 they get indigestion and they get heartburn,
35:18 because there's so much pressure
35:19 and so many worries and lot of its
35:21 because people have forgotten about the Sabbath day.
35:23 And God says, "Give Me your time and rest,
35:27 I'll help you get stronger, again."
35:30 It's like after a good night sleep,
35:31 you wake up, you feel really good.
35:33 And you got lots of energy.
35:34 God wants us to have spiritual energy too.
35:37 Mathew 15.
35:39 Jesus said, a lot of people are keeping other days
35:42 but it's just a tradition.
35:44 "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God
35:48 because of your tradition?"
35:49 That's Mathew 15:3.
35:51 Some people are breaking the commandments of God,
35:53 and keeping other days,
35:55 when God says they should keep the seventh day holy,
35:57 and it does matter.
35:59 Did God blessed the first day of the week?
36:01 Doesn't say anywhere in the Bible,
36:02 He blessed the first day?
36:04 Doesn't say anywhere in the Bible
36:05 He sanctified the first day or made it holy. No.
36:09 God has taken one day and He's made it a special day,
36:13 He says, "My covenant I will not break,
36:16 nor alter the word that has gone out of My mouth."
36:19 Now I'll tell you what?
36:20 Not only are two of the Batchelor boys here today,
36:23 but Pastor Ross has his son,
36:24 he's got two of his boys with him,
36:25 but I'm going to bring Justin up for this illustration.
36:28 I hope you guys don't mind.
36:29 And I'm going to ask him to go into the mystery box here,
36:32 and see if you find something
36:33 that looks like a party could happen.
36:36 Go and open up all the way. What do we got there.
36:40 Go ahead, let's pull that out of there.
36:41 See if you can get there out of there
36:42 in one piece. All right.
36:45 You can hang on here, I'll tell you what,
36:46 let's do this, if you don't mind.
36:49 Just leave that right there for a second.
36:50 Go ahead, let's take that, that's good.
36:53 You guys want to have a quick party. Yeah.
36:55 All right, let's-- we gonna take and let see.
36:58 Matter of fact we might even have a few extra ones we do.
37:00 All right, let see now just a second here.
37:03 We're not- we're not quite then.
37:08 I want to have a party here.
37:11 I'll get this thing over my glasses,
37:13 here we go. All right.
37:18 Now, I'm sure that's all natural ingredients.
37:24 You got talking to my tie here Justin when is your birthday?
37:28 September 16.
37:30 What's today? September 17.
37:33 I tell you what,
37:35 today we're going to celebrate your birthday,
37:37 and let me see here, I'll get this, hang on a second.
37:40 Oh, come on don't do that to me.
37:46 Wow, it's a flamethrower.
37:48 All right, go ahead blow your kazoo there.
37:52 Blow hard.
37:53 You want to celebrate blow hard for a second.
37:57 That will work. All right, now that's good.
38:00 Now we're going to sing
38:01 happy birthday to Justin real quick okay.
38:04 Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you,
38:10 happy birthday dear Justin, happy birth day to you.
38:18 All right, you know what that means.
38:20 Now, all right, all right, all right.
38:23 I trust you guys.
38:25 Now that, what's the date today?
38:28 September 17.
38:29 When is his birthday? September 16.
38:32 So from now on his birthday is going to be September 17,
38:35 is that okay. No.
38:38 Well, we just sang to you and we just blew our kazoos
38:40 and you got the balloon and it says happy birthday.
38:42 So we're going to vote to change your birthday to the 17th.
38:45 No. Why not?
38:49 Because I wasn't born today.
38:51 What day were you born? Sixteenth.
38:53 So no matter how aloud we sing,
38:55 you won't change that, ha. Nope.
38:56 Your mom, she won't understand.
38:58 John, can we just change it now to the 17th.
39:01 Officially we'll just write it up we all sang,
39:04 all right you get the point.
39:06 You can't change it,
39:07 doesn't matter what tradition does.
39:09 You want to blow that out, it's safer, blow it out.
39:11 Just pray it doesn't get you, okay.
39:12 You can take that with you, back to your dad.
39:16 Can I have this?
39:17 You can take that, don't blow on it.
39:18 All right, let's collect our kazoos.
39:22 Oh, I knew I was forgetting something.
39:26 Well, do you see now just because every body decides,
39:30 well everybody is now keeping the first day as the Sabbath
39:33 or you know, in the Muslim world,
39:35 they keep the sixth day, Friday as the Sabbath.
39:38 Does that change God's law? No.
39:41 You mean, can people all vote to change the law of God?
39:45 Will it change the Ten Commandments?
39:47 God doesn't change, remember what needs changing?
39:51 We need to change, God is perfect.
39:54 What is a Christian? Question number 6.
39:56 A Christian follows Jesus, right.
39:59 Did Jesus keep the seventh day Sabbath?
40:02 We got several verses here, Luke 4:16.
40:07 "As His custom was, that means His behavior, His pattern,
40:10 he went into the church the synagogue on the Sabbath day
40:14 and stood up to read the scripture."
40:17 What is a custom?
40:18 Is a custom something you do
40:19 one time or many times. Many times.
40:21 A custom means it's a habit, your pattern.
40:23 Ever since Jesus was a little boy,
40:25 He went to the synagogue every Sabbath day
40:28 and He would read the Bible and He's praying,
40:29 He's with His family. That was His custom.
40:32 The Bible never says, that Jesus gave that up either.
40:35 And again Mark 6:2
40:38 "And when the Sabbath had come,
40:41 he began to teach in the synagogue."
40:44 Jesus went to church every Sabbath day.
40:46 What day of the week did He go?
40:48 First day, second day, third day,
40:50 fourth day, firth day, sixth day, or seventh day.
40:53 Seventh day, why seventh day?
40:55 That's the day that He blessed and made holy.
40:59 Now, let me get you to think about something.
41:02 Who is it that wrote the Ten Commandments?
41:05 Jesus did with His own finger.
41:08 See Jesus has got the sun and it's His creation,
41:12 the Bible says in 1 John or in the Gospel of John,
41:15 all things that were made, were made by Him,
41:19 nothing was made without Him that was made,
41:21 including the law of God.
41:23 So when Jesus made the Sabbath it was perfect.
41:26 Why would He change it? Question number 7.
41:30 Should we keep Sunday as the Sabbath day
41:32 because Jesus rose on that day? No.
41:36 Now is it important that Jesus rose on Sunday?
41:38 It's important that Jesus rose.
41:40 Who knows what day of the week did Jesus die on the cross?
41:44 Friday, that's good.
41:46 Is that an important day?
41:47 Wasn't that important? Yes.
41:49 And what day did Jesus have,
41:51 what evening was it when He had the last supper.
41:54 Thursday night, well, we would call Thursday night.
41:56 Is that important too? Yes.
41:58 Jesus did important things on many days,
42:01 but where in the Bible does He tell us
42:03 that makes it a new Sabbath day.
42:06 He doesn't.
42:08 The only day that Jesus set up
42:09 is the Sabbath is the seventh day.
42:12 So let's go on, should we keep Sunday
42:15 because Jesus rose on that day.
42:16 Did the apostles worship on Sunday?
42:19 Let's find out what the Bible says.
42:20 Acts17:2, "Then Paul, as his custom was,
42:26 he went to them for three Sabbaths
42:28 and he reasoned with them out of the Scriptures."
42:31 Paul is the Apostle Paul.
42:33 Paul then he becomes an apostle until years after Jesus died.
42:37 So long after Jesus died,
42:39 the apostles are still keeping the seventh day Sabbath.
42:42 And again it says, "He reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath,
42:45 not just for Jews, he persuaded both Jews and Greeks."
42:50 Now I'm sort of half and half.
42:52 I'm half Gentile, my father was a Baptist
42:54 and my mother was a Jew.
42:56 And so I can speak for both perspectives on this.
43:00 Again Acts 13:42,
43:03 "So when the Jews went out of the synagogue,
43:06 it says the Gentile,
43:07 a Gentile is anybody who is not a Jew.
43:10 The Gentiles begged that these word might be
43:12 preached to them the next Sunday."
43:14 What does it say? The next what?
43:18 Even the Gentiles, the non Jews,
43:21 knew that Paul was going to be in the church to synagogue
43:25 on the seventh day, not on Sunday.
43:28 So they said, well, we know what day the Sabbath is,
43:29 can you talk to us again next Sabbath.
43:31 They didn't say next Sunday.
43:32 And this is long after Jesus had risen and gone to heaven.
43:36 Matter of fact, Jesus, prophesying
43:38 about the end of time. Listen to what Lord said.
43:42 There might be a time when we got to run for our lives
43:44 because of the tribulation and problems,
43:47 He said "Pray that your flight."
43:50 Now flight there doesn't mean, your American airlines flight,
43:53 it means flight means like you're running,
43:55 you flee for your life.
43:57 "Pray that your flight may not be in winter
43:59 or on the Sabbath day."
44:02 Did Jesus looking down in prophecy,
44:04 He know that God's people would still be keeping the Sabbath.
44:07 This is important for the Lord
44:08 because He loves us and He wants time with us.
44:12 The Bible promises blessings to those who keep the Sabbath.
44:16 Don't you want that blessing?
44:18 The day is not cursed. God says He blessed the day.
44:22 And some people come to- they come to church every week
44:25 and they miss the blessings.
44:26 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
44:29 I'm in Isaiah 58:13,
44:31 "From doing your pleasure on My holy day."
44:34 It's not a day for doing our regular activities,
44:36 its holy day for God.
44:38 He says, therefore, you will call the Sabbath a delight.,
44:42 God calls the Sabbath, My holy day.
44:46 And again Jesus says in Mark 2:28,
44:49 "Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
44:54 God tells us that He is the Lord of the Sabbath day.
44:57 It's very important to Him. Question number 8.
45:01 If God didn't change
45:02 the seventh day Sabbath day to Sunday
45:04 then how did this happen?
45:06 Why are they so many people
45:08 around the world that go to church
45:10 on the first day of the week on Sunday
45:12 and they call it a Sabbath
45:14 but it's not the day that God set aside.
45:16 Well, you look in history it will tell you.
45:19 Jesus knew this was going to happen.
45:21 He knew that there would be a sinister power
45:23 that would try to change it.
45:24 Daniel 7:25 said "This beast power would think
45:28 or intend to change times and laws."
45:31 You know there's only one of the Ten Commandments
45:34 that is both a law and a time, which commandment is that?
45:39 The fourth commandment about the Sabbath day.
45:40 The Sabbath's a time and it's a law.
45:43 And Bible foretold this was going to happen.
45:46 There was a Roman emperor
45:47 that came along by the name of Constantine.
45:50 And you know for while there in Rome,
45:53 Christianity was illegal.
45:55 If you are Christian, you have to hide your religion,
45:57 it was very unpopular.
45:58 Christians were being fed to the lions.
46:01 Some of the Roman emperors tried to kill all the Christians
46:03 they would throw them in the arena
46:06 to be trampled by elephants or they burned them to death.
46:11 Many of the Christians developed cities
46:12 underground called catacomb because they had to hide,
46:15 their religion was against the law.
46:17 But it was so true and it was changing hearts
46:19 and it gave them such peace,
46:21 that it kept growing and spreading,
46:23 more and more people wanted to be Christians,
46:24 because Christians were happy. They had peace.
46:27 So Constantine became emperor
46:30 and the Romans in Rome the pagans,
46:34 they worshipped the sun, and the moon and the stars.
46:36 That's where you get the word Sunday.
46:38 That was the day they worshipped the sun.
46:40 Monday was the day they worshipped the,
46:42 who knows, the moon.
46:45 Saturday was the day
46:46 for worshipping the planet Saturn.
46:50 Thursday was the day of Thor,
46:52 the God of thunder,
46:53 that all these different pagan Gods they worshipped.
46:56 In the Bible the days don't have names
46:58 like that, they are numbered.
46:59 First day, six, second day, third day, fourth day,
47:01 fifth day, the sixth day,
47:03 Friday is called the preparation day
47:05 and then the Sabbath day.
47:07 Well Constantine's empire was split between pagans
47:10 and Christians and he said look,
47:12 Christians aren't hurting anybody,
47:13 we may as well legalize their religion.
47:16 So he made a law legalizing Christianity
47:19 and he is the one who established
47:20 Sundays as the day of worship.
47:22 This is right from the encyclopedia Britannica.
47:24 That was not written by Pastor Doug
47:26 or by Pastor Doug's church,
47:27 it's written by people who were just writing history.
47:31 It says "The earliest recognition
47:33 of the observance of Sunday
47:35 is a constitution of Constantine,
47:38 this Roman emperor in 321 A.D.
47:41 that means A.D. means anno Domini
47:43 or after the death of Jesus.
47:45 321 years after Jesus, they started changing it,
47:50 little by little and the Jews were not popular.
47:53 And some of the Christians said,
47:54 we don't want to worship the same day as the Jews.
47:56 We want to do something new and different.
47:58 Let's start worshipping on the same day
48:00 the pagans worshipped the sun,
48:02 and little by little over hundreds over years,
48:05 many of the Christians gave up the day God blessed
48:08 and started observing the day
48:09 that was blessed and worshipped by the pagans,
48:11 worshipping the sun.
48:14 And you can also read in Mathew 15:9.
48:18 Lot of people might be very sincere
48:23 but it says here Jesus said "In vain they worship Me,
48:27 teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."
48:30 Some people are teaching manmade things
48:32 but they are not God's will and it hurts the Lord.
48:36 So can we know what day that day is?
48:39 Luke 23, "The day Jesus died was called the Preparation day."
48:43 Well, who knows what day that is?
48:45 "Friday and the Sabbath drew near."
48:49 And then it says in the Bible from evening to evening
48:53 were to celebrate our Sabbaths.
48:56 Hi, let me see, you are real close.
48:58 Mitchell, come up, come here.
49:00 I'm sorry.
49:02 All right.
49:04 You remember this light. Yeah.
49:06 Go over there little ways, further back by the guitar,
49:09 and light at the world. All right.
49:12 Here we are in Texas, see the tape, can you all see.
49:15 Yeah, there on the screen.
49:16 As the world turns, when the sun goes down,
49:20 you are in the dark part right here.
49:22 You can see over here,
49:23 it's getting into the light part here.
49:26 When the day ends, is that sun down,
49:28 this is when a new day begins.
49:31 As the sun comes up, day is already been going.
49:35 You are supposed to keep the Sabbath
49:36 when it comes to you.
49:37 When it Sabbath here in Texas,
49:39 it may not be in the other parts of the world.
49:41 But you keep the Sabbath when it comes to you.
49:44 Because the world is always turning like this
49:46 and the sun shining on it.
49:48 That's a pretty bright light, isn't it?
49:49 You are enjoying that.
49:51 Okay, I just wanted to give you a little visual
49:53 to help understand that.
49:54 The Bible says, from evening to evening
49:57 you celebrate yours, that was good job,
49:59 Mitchell, I appreciate that.
50:04 So you know when Jesus died.
50:08 Jesus died right about sundown.
50:10 You want to hear something amazing,
50:12 Jesus even kept the Sabbath in His death.
50:17 See Jesus spent His life working to save humanity.
50:20 When He died on the cross,
50:21 you know one of the last things He said,
50:24 He said, "It is finished." And then He died.
50:28 He said ''Father, into your hands
50:29 I commit my spirit'' and He died.
50:31 He went to sleep,
50:33 and He rested through the Sabbath,
50:36 He kept the Sabbath even in His death.
50:38 And then He rose Sunday morning, not to rest,
50:41 he rose Sunday morning
50:42 to continue His work for us as high priest.
50:46 That's how important it is to Jesus.
50:47 And the disciples would not finish embalming
50:50 or wrapping up Jesus' body.
50:51 Friday afternoon, they said the sun is going down,
50:54 we're not quite done mummifying or wrapping up His body,
50:57 we'll come back Sunday morning.
50:59 Because the disciples knew,
51:00 that would not make Jesus happy
51:02 to continue working on the Sabbath day,
51:04 even that labor of love.
51:06 So it says, "They returned and prepared spices
51:09 and fragrant ointments, and they rested."
51:12 Notice here.
51:13 "They rested the Sabbath according to the commandment."
51:17 Was the commandment important to Jesus,
51:20 was it important to His disciples?
51:22 "Now on the first day of the week,
51:23 they came to the tomb."
51:25 And praise the Lord He had reason,
51:27 He began His work,
51:29 in heaven He's our high priest
51:30 and He's alive there watching over us right now.
51:33 So the preparation day is Friday,
51:35 that sometimes people call it good Friday.
51:38 Sabbath, Jesus slept He rested in the tomb.
51:41 He rose after the Sabbath on Sunday the first day.
51:44 Saturday is the seventh day. That's the Sabbath day.
51:47 There is no question about it.
51:49 No calendar change has affected that.
51:52 What makes the Sabbath so special to God and to us?
51:56 The Bible says "The Lord blessed the Sabbath day
51:59 and he hallowed it." It's His holy day.
52:02 It's a day He wants us to remember Him.
52:05 Did you know that we're even going to keep
52:07 the Sabbath in heaven?
52:10 You're aware of that, question number 10.
52:12 Even in heaven, we're going to keep the Sabbath day,
52:14 after Jesus comes.
52:17 For instance, how many know did they-
52:20 did Adam and Eve keep the Sabbath
52:21 in the Garden of Eden. Yes.
52:24 Did Moses and the children of Israel
52:25 keep the Sabbath in the wilderness? Yes.
52:28 All through the Old Testament.
52:29 Did Jesus and the apostles keep the Sabbath? Yes.
52:33 The Bible tells us that even in the new heavens
52:36 and the new earth that God is going to make,
52:39 it says "For as the new heavens and the new earth
52:42 that I will make shall remain before me says the Lord,
52:45 so shall your descendants and your name remain.
52:47 And it shall come to pass,
52:50 that from one Sabbath to another,
52:52 shall all flesh come and worship before the Lord."
52:57 Even in heaven we are going to come and worship God.
52:59 And guess who the preacher is going to be there?
53:03 Jesus and nobody is going to sleep
53:05 during the church service there, right.
53:08 You know I heard about a boy named, Bobby,
53:11 who one day was playing
53:12 with his grandfather's special gold watch,
53:14 little gold watch that had a flip keys on it.
53:18 And his mom said he had to go feed the chickens.
53:20 So he stuck the watch inside his shirt pocket
53:22 and he went out to feed the chickens,
53:23 he forgot it was there.
53:24 And he loved to jump in the hay,
53:26 so he was jumping from the loft down into the piles of hay
53:29 and he was playing and pretty soon,
53:31 he thought, where's grandpa's watch,
53:34 his gold watch?
53:36 What am I gonna do, and he looked
53:37 all through the hay and he couldn't find it,
53:39 and he was frantic, he thought I'll be in
53:41 so much trouble, that was grandpa's special watch,
53:43 he got it when he retired from the railroad,
53:45 I am in big trouble now.
53:48 And he was frantically looking all through the hay
53:50 and digging around and he couldn't find it.
53:53 Finally he got on his knees and he is sobbingly, he prayed.
53:56 And he said, oh Lord I'm sorry
53:58 I was careless with grandpa's watch.
54:00 Please help me know where it is.
54:02 Help me find it.
54:04 And then while he was on his knees quietly praying,
54:06 he heard, tick, tick, tick, tick,
54:11 and what do you think it was.
54:13 When he was finally quiet, he heard it.
54:16 And he had to be real still
54:18 and he started sifting through the hay
54:20 and he quietly listened and he sifted little more
54:23 and he nailed it down into pretty soon he dug aside
54:26 and it tick, tick, tick, and it was real loud
54:29 and he found the watch.
54:32 But he'd been so frantic looking before,
54:34 he couldn't find that treasure.
54:36 You know sometimes the devil tries to keep us so frantic.
54:40 Some homes today are just so much noise
54:43 and the television is always going
54:44 and the video games
54:45 and there's just always thing happening.
54:48 And the devil wants to create so much noise,
54:50 we can't hear the Lord's speaking to us,
54:53 God has given us a day of rest to be still
54:56 and to hear His voice, to recharge our batteries,
55:00 to get a blessing to prepare us for heaven.
55:02 Every Sabbath is a little bit of heaven here now.
55:06 And God wants you to have that blessing friends.
55:09 He wants you to have that rest on that holy special day.
55:13 How many of you would like to have that blessing,
55:16 that God has on the Sabbath day,
55:18 to hear His voice and to be ready for His coming.
55:22 Let's pray now and ask Him.
55:23 To enjoy that, Jesus said, "Come to me
55:26 and I will give you rest.
55:30 That's what the Sabbath is all about."
55:32 Let's pray.
55:34 Father in heaven, we're so thankful for the truth
55:36 that You love us and You want us to love You.
55:40 That's why You have given us this holy day,
55:42 to set aside time to get to know You better
55:45 and love You more.
55:46 And as we love You more Lord, to serve You better.
55:49 I pray You'll bless all those who are watching
55:51 and especially the children
55:53 that they will love that special time,
55:55 a day with the king that You've provided for them.
55:58 Fill them with Your Spirit,
55:59 continue to pour out with Your Spirit
56:01 and Your blessings in this series,
56:03 that there might be a great revival
56:04 of young people to serve You.
56:06 We ask this now in Jesus name, amen.
56:11 God bless you friends,
56:13 you don't want to miss our next meeting.
56:15 We are going to talk about God's super food.
56:17 And you're going to really enjoy the lesson tomorrow.
56:20 God bless you those who are watching.
56:22 Don't forget you can still bring your friend.
56:24 We'll see you then.
